“Good service and tasty food. My fave is the Eggplant and Tofu entree. (Supposedly, this is the only location on the Westside that offers this menu item.)Plenty of free parking. Many other stores and eateries, post office, bank ATMs.Vegetarian options: Great eggplant and Tofu entree.Parking: Easily over a hundred parking spots in this sprawling lot. This is a big neighborhood shopping area.“
“Wow, this is a must dine at spot when in L.A. Their soup dumplings were absolutely delicious. The noodle dish was so so, wouldn't order that again. Also it took over 55 minutes for our food to come out but waitress apologised by removing a small item from our bill at the end which was appreciated.“
“AMAZING Expect waiting outside, party of 2 was 20-25 min Saturday afternoon and cannot call in to be added to it. Everything on the menu is great but the French toast, pork belly fried rice, and strawberry tea were the best. Limited seating and one restroom but highly recommend.“
“The food was so authentic it stunned my mom. I've never seen her so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant. It's hard to find dishes like Liangpi and Big Plate Chicken outside of China, and even if you can the flavors are often diluted. The noodles here were perfectly chewy, the stew in the BPC was rich and thick (rivaling Dolan's even). And the prices aren't bad at all. We'll be coming here again, and exploring their other locations too.“
“2024 update: dined in for the first time and was underwhelmed with the food. Chickpea curry is decent, kaya toast is decent. The dan dan noodles are straight up not good! Extremely salty and fatty. Skipped dessert (unheard of for me) because the main dishes already made me feel so heavy and unhealthy.2022 takeout review: The laksa is incredible. It is easily two meals (can serve two people). I'm not a spice person and this was at the upper end of my spice tolerance but not too spicy. A side of clay oven bread is really good to dip in it. My only complaint was I ordered takeout and my order was ready 15 minutes later than the original estimate.“
“I’ve eaten here a few times, both dine in and delivery. The kebabs are always amazing. The spice mix is truly incredible. If you dine in, you make an order on a mobile site (via a QR code on the table) that lets your whole party add to the order and see what everyone else has ordered — it’s very convenient for a full table where you plan to eat family style!“
“Wow! That beef roll was to die for but also the fried dumplings and the shaken beef I believe it was called (the filet mignon) was incredible. Perfectly paired with a Taiwanese lager. Highly recommend - good date location but not to bring your parents haha as it‘s very “
“been coming here for about 20 years. the main reason is the consistency of the food they serve here. over the years with travels, I have found higher quality and / or varieties at other local Chinese spots. However, if you want a tired and true experience, you can bank on Randy's.“
“Walked in hoping for the best and plan to return whenever I can! Kelvin the manager was great on making recommendations and is very hospitable. Appreciate how attentive he was to our groups needs! Everything about the place is top notch! Def recommend!“
“My friend and I decided to try a new restaurant on OpenTable were very pleased with our choice. Reservations were a must because soon as we arrive, the place was packed our servers were pleasant and fairly attentive (but the restaurant was very busy for the two waiters present). The waitstaff eagerly answered all of our questions about the food preparation since many of the dishes were new to us. The food was flavorful, and the portions were great! The restaurant was beautifully decorated with flowers, and the restaurant is appropriately called Queen Violet. We will definitely be back to enjoy some of the other dishes we missed today!“
“Perfect ten for a sit down relaxed dining experience. The service was friendly and helpful, the food was hot and delicious , the atmosphere was relaxed and clean,…all at a reasonable price. Thanks!☺️Vegetarian options: I loved the eggplant with garlic sauce.“
“I haven't even visited this kitchen yet, but I have investigated the place and it is a Communist Kitchen of the Former President of the People's Republic of China "Mao Tse-Tung" Long live Mao! Look up his biography on YouTube, he had errors, although he soon turned his nation into an advanced society!“
“This place is the perfect spot for inexpensive, filling Chinese-American food. It has two buffets, one with pre-cooked food and one with meat and veggies for the Mongolian BBQ. You pay by the weight of what you eat. But the buffet food seems fresh because the restaurant is busy. If you're craving orange chicken or similarly deep fried foods, this is the place.“
“For the ultimate Korean-Chinese dining experience in South Bay, look no further. Dive into authentic Jja Jang Myeon and Jjam Ppong at this must-visit establishment. Whether you're new to Korean cuisine or a seasoned foodie, it's the perfect starting point. Don't miss out on trying the Gan Jja Jang--it's a rare find with its smoky wok flavor, generous portions of diced onions and squash, and a less oily consistency compared to traditional Jja Jang Myeon. Highly recommended!“
“This was my first time back in several years and my boyfriend’s first time as well!! Immediately we were greeted, sat promptly and had an excellent server names Asia. She was super sweet, knowledgeable and just over all the nicest server ever! Definitely will be coming back. Good job guys!“
“MIAN is a wonderful place for some really good food. There are great selections and the menu will satisfy all dietary requirements. The Crispy Half Chicken is great and the Spicy Beef Noodle is a can’t miss dish. This is a place that you will want to go back to again and again to taste everything on the menu.“
“Went on a Friday night with a party of 5 including a 4yr old. We were seated quickly and waited on at the right times if that makes sense. We had several dishes like soup, noodles, dumplings and everything was delicious. The service was top notch with very reasonable prices.“
“The size of everything is double the size of normal dim sum. Their portion size is crazy be careful how much you order! Food is made to order! Comes out piping hot!! The food is 100% authentic. So delicious HUGE! Great jasmine tea. Funny and friendly staff. Clean inside. We had sooo much left overs. Plenty of seating. AC. I will definitely come back again. Again. And again.“
“This is a good stop for delicious food to share and drink for a good price. The Warrior chicken (kind of like DIY chicken baos) and scallion pancakes were delicious.Drinks wise - the choochoo is so refreshing, if you’re thinking more sweet and frothy go for the Phuket watermelon drink.Only reason I took a star away on the review is the service is so slow and bad. Our waitress was very inattentive. Took about 20 minutes to even place our orders and perhaps another 15-20 minutes to grab the check. If you’re in no rush then it’s not a big deal…“
“Flavor is good, they use a lot of garlic. Amount was enough but not for big appetites. Price is in average of Panda Express.Food was barely warm , and when is raining you just want your food hot. Service was good, they do not ask for tip, that is voluntary. Dining room is ok, chairs are for fast people, do not try to stay more than 15 min or pay your rent. I’ll be back but I’ll ask the waitress to please tell people staff be sure my delicious food is hot and healthy. I just realized, that must be keeping over 135 f degrees to be healthy, right?Anyway I’ll be back because I love garlic as a seasoning. Thank you“
“My favorite, go-to Thai food in LA and the best krapow on the west side. Better than any other kra-pow I’ve found here by a mile. Noodles are amazing. Always nice and extremely fast service, very reasonable prices. Every once in a while I’ll try somewhere new and I always come back here.“
“The most kind staff! It’s no wonder this place is busy - my friend and I had the best time here and I look forward to returning. Special shout out to Jared who made us feel welcome and to our bartender in the back room who was so lovely - I think her name started with an E. 10/10“
“Pretty solid America tuned Chinese food. Everything is really tasty and well made. Prices good for portion size. Parking lot and street parking (no meters). Service was efficient and pleasant. Recommended if in area and looking for some classic Chinese. Tables and boots inside.“
“I love this restaurant and the people who work there. They are very friendly and always helpful. I love their noodles and soups. Especially in winter you should try their soups.Restaurant is very big. And you can find a great table front of the window. There is a public parking area very close the building.“
“This is honestly our favorite take-out Chinese spot in Inglewood. It's been a staple here since the 80s. They give you huge portions for reasonable prices you won't find anywhere else. The food is always on point for your typical take-out. One time they forgot the appetizer we ordered and they gave us a credit for it the next time we came in. When we did, they gave us additional portions without us asking. It showed the owner cared.Yes, the ambiance hasn't changed since...the 80s, and the food isn't going to go above and beyond some of the places you'd find in Gardena or Chinatown but it's the typical spot you'd find everywhere across the East Coast when you need something quick, easy, and delicious. It's not trying to be trendy. The staff has always been helpful and kind.Check it out and grab some take out if you haven't.“
“Solid dim sums close to UCLA! This is my first time seeing fried red oil wontons and they blew my mind! Each wonton comes with generous amount of shrimp in it and they're so juicy they squirted when I bit into them! The outside is thin and crispy, and the red ou drizzled on top is flavorful and aromatic. The chive dumplings are solid too. The soup dumplings however disappoint. Their skin is too thick and lack chewiness. Also it's a red flag that they come in tin foil cups. The service is ok and the ambiance is honestly bad because they're all outdoor seating right next to the roadside without any decoration. I think the items are slightly overpriced considering that they all come in plastic containers and disposable utensils and packet dressing.“
“My husband and I live eating here or getting delivery. We've gone to 2 different locations, with friends, or just us two over several years and the food is consistent and delicious. The portions are also a good size. My only wish is that the inside atmosphere was more inviting, and occasionally the food can take a little long to come out. The staff have always been helpful and polite.“
“I recommend the golden prime beef noodle soup (金汤肥牛面) with flat noodles (noodles and broth were my favourite part of the dish). We also had the lamb skewers - the quality of meat was good, but it had a bit too much spice on them.Lastly, the service was great!“
“BEST CHINESE TAKEOUT IN LOS ANGELES! My favorite dish is their Crispy Honey Shrimp With Walnuts. Another must have is their Chicken Dumpling Potstickers. I love their Sweet and Sour Pork as well as their Moo Shoo Pork. Almost forgot about the Spicey Crispy Beef. The food has so much flavor and its prep is very consistent. I have always grabbed my food to-go. Check them out!“
“quiet peaceful place The workers are also very friendly and take their work seriously.Parking: There are paid hourly training sessions and a waiting area for passengers in total it will be difficult to park there if you want the car to be right next to that very restaurant“
“Vegetarian options: I really love this place it’s so amazing . I also love to eat noodles from this specific place . Owner is so nice and kind . Noodles and fried rice are so delicious. They have good vegetarian options too along with non vegetarian. That’s my favorite place for Chinese food . Love it ??“
“Jjamppong Jajangmyeon was all delicious^^The owner was also very friendly, so I was able to have a comfortable and enjoyable meal. The table is large, so it would be nice to come with family or have a company dinner.I’ll stop by again next time!“
“I've been coming here for a few years and the food is always great and the service is always wonderful. They're so helpful and welcoming. It's just a straight up, old school, Chinese restaurant serving up the classics. Portion sizes are pretty big and always tasty. I have not had a bad experience here yet. Nothing bad to say about this place at all.“
“The Guobao Pork is delicious; the colorful pulled pork is also good, but a bit sweet; the barbecue tastes good, but a bit expensive! The store is not big, so you will most likely have to queue up; the food is served quite quickly; the two of them ate over 100“
“I love this place. I work nearby. I go there 2-3 times a week for lunch break. For what you pay for you get very large portions. So much better than Panda Express. The staff is very friendly. If you work close to Hollywood and Gower or are a tourist, please come to Maxim Chinese Food. Good price for what you get.“
“Omg everything was sooo good!!! The soup dumplings were top notch which surprised me. It was juicy and full of soup. The beef noodle soup was a little too salty but noodles were perfectly al dente.Green beans had a nice crunch.I want to come back to try the other items. I also want to try the Gardena location.“
“A great restaurant for the best authentic Chinese food. My favorite restaurant in the LA area. The customer service is always excellent ! I love the everything on the menu so many options. If you are in the area give them an opportunity and it will change your mind.“
“Skewer place with an interesting concept. Self bbq setup is unique and convenient. Great for satisfying cravings. Meat quality is fresh and seasoning is good. But it takes some time for the skewers to cook and there’s limited space. So it might not be a good option for large parties. What I love the most about this place is that they have the most authentic cold noodles I have had. Natural, flavorful broth with chewy soba noodles. Refreshing and delicious.“
“I loved it. The dessert sesame paste filled buns are amazzzzing.I would only suggest they ask you first if you want ice in your drink, because its brought with ice by default (like anywhere else here ?) and it would be nice to remind you that they could make it withouht it.“
“Their Seafood Noodle soup is the best ? it's made fresh and has lots of vegetables like I request. If you like the shrimp and fish, they will always accommodate with more of the meat. I prefer more veggies. I've gone to them since 2019 during the pandemic, and they're great with the freshly cooked items.“
“Santa Monica's Chinese gem excels in takeout brilliance. Swift service, generous portions, and vibrant flavors define each dish. Despite the takeout-only format, every bite is a testament to their commitment to freshness and quality. A must-try for a quick, flavorful culinary escape.“
“First time found it through yelp I'm trying to go to more small businesses and find places that can accommodate me. I got the orange chicken because it didn't have soy and the person I was with got the Mongolian beef with noodles. I ordered on the phone the person was very sweet and knowledgeable and very considerate about my allergies. Everything arrived very sealed tight in plastic accept for my orange chicken and it had a cool opener the radish it looked like it was seasoned with ginger. It came with a side of rice. I felt I didn't really need the rice because the orange chicken was so flavorful. I like the idea of Korean Chinese fusion! Definitely will be coming back here.“
“I’ve been coming here for over 7 years. When the new owners took over a couple years ago it really revamped the place. The owner and workers are all very nice to me and my sons. They are all very patient. Even the cook when I see him always smiles. The food is alway and I mean always delicious. My son is autistic and at times he can cut up but they are all very welcoming. I really appreciate that. And my sons and I both love the boba drink especially the Thai tea. And the prices are affordable with a great amount of food. Our favorite is chow main, fried chicken orange chicken and their egg rolls. But the other stuff is delicious it’s just what my kids prefer.“
“The combo chow mein is the best, the seafood shrimp mussels were very fresh, and very delicious soup base. Definitely coming back and try other combo because I think the ingredients are good when they incorporate Korean culinary techniques and cooking Chinese food. Also the portion was generous and good for one person. Loved the Price $15.50 a really good dish mixed combo lunch set and side dishes Will be back for other combo or the 79.99 special. Best chinese food in KT“
“Food is amazingly delicious & fresh. Place is clean and organized. We ordered catered food for 2 large events. The owner was very friendly, gave good pricing, and delivered for the event exceeding the expectations. The guests enjoyed the food & we received many compliments. Very highly recommend!“
“Fun standard Chinese food- we ordered so many things on the menu- sorry no pics because I was enjoying the food too much! Definitely get the string beans, fried rice, general tsao’s chicken, Kung pão chicken , shrimp with garlic sauce, broccoli dishes are amazing!“
“Right out of the gate, let's talk noodles and beef – it was a mix of 'wow' and 'hmm' at this spot. The Dan Dan noodles? Absolutely killer. They hit the table faster than I could decide on a drink, and every bite was a trip to flavor town. But then there was the beef – promising but ended up being a bit of a chewy endeavor, like it was doing its best to join the gym. We also jumped on a promo for crispy pork, which initially came out as cold as the reception at a rival sports team's home game. To their credit, they fixed it up quick, showing some real class in the service department.Overall, the vibe was friendly, and the service had that nice sparkle you don't find just anywhere. But when it comes down to brass tacks, the meal was a solid 6/10. It had its moments, sure, but nothing that would make me sprint back. Pricewise, it was middle of the road – didn't make my wallet cry, but didn't make it sing, either. So, would I go back? Probably not. It's like that movie you saw once and kinda liked but wouldn't bother seeing again.“
“Visited my daughter at UCLA. We wanted Asian food and headed to Sawtelle. Walked up and down the street and saw many places that looked inviting. We settled on Dan Modern Chinese because we saw dim sum on some tables that looked good. We ordered soup dumplings, dumplings, bok choy and noodles. The dumplings were very good and the noodles and bok choy were decent. I would come back for dumplings but would pass on the noodles. If you crave dim sum, this place will satisfy your craving but dont expect much from the noodles. Noodles were thick and chewy with a gravy like sauce. Homemade noodles but not the best.“
“The Chinese Chicken Salad is all I get! Workers are friendly. I’m just mad that they are only open from 11-5 ?Parking: Parking sucks! Either you can park on the street to pay the meter or pay $2 every 20 minutes to be in a small shared parking lot“
“Prices were great for the amount of food they served. After the food is fully set out and prepared there is a wide variety. Although they are a Chinese restaurant their chicken is the bomb!!! If I was local this would be my go to spot for chicken. We got there an hour after opening and they were still sitting most of the food out. They seemed to super fill the plates after waiting for 30 minutes or so after we got there which was nice. The noodles were delicious and the orange chicken but the kung pao Chicken I didn’t finish because I wasn’t a fan of the taste and the rice was bland. Definitely a place that you taste and get the dishes you enjoyed the next time.“
