“Padsew very good flavor. There was a very friendly lady and then a not so friendly lady. We had a bit of a language barrier and the unfriendly one made sure to be scarce as I waited. The very friendly hostess righted the wrong quickly and I was grateful. I didn't appreciate how the other unfriendly one addressed me. The veggie padsew and the Golden potstickers were good. I don't really eat meat...but I tried it and it was a good texture and it wasnt dry. I also put the potstickers in my airfryer for 3 or so minutes to crisps them back up..the sauce was yummy 😋”

“We visited the California Magic Club today and it was honestly one of the best experiences we’ve had in the Bay Area. This place is on another level. Every magician we encountered was incredibly talented, but what stood out even more was how engaging and attentive they were with everyone—adults and kids alike.

“We were catching a train through Martinez on Thanksgiving Day. No other food place was open except for Aberdeen Cafe. We were greeted with a warm smile and hot tea. Food was amazing and staff were so generous. Thank you!”

“Oh my goodness! I've only had one sandwich there, but it was Uh-maze-ing! It's a quiet little place in a strip mall, and when the guy I was traveling with brought me up to it I definitely had second thoughts. But wow! The prosciutto and fig jam grilled cheese was fantastic, the staff was amazing, and the local is quirky, but clean.”

“Amazing as always! This place delivers consistently excellent sushi—super fresh, and just look at the picture to see how thick their sashimi cuts are. It’s not only fresh, it’s truly a great value.

I ordered four pieces of sashimi, the katsu curry with an add-on of California roll for an additional of $5, and it all even came with a salad. The pork in the katsu curry was juicy with two thick, satisfying slices.

Not to mention they gave me free tea. So generous.

Service was outstanding—the true definition of great customer care. The ambiance is cozy, welcoming, and very clean. Highly recommend!

“Food was excellent as usual. Order quickly taken and food came out in a reasonable time. Portions where nice. Only thing I don't like about this place as well as domino's is that the charge card reader forces you to pay a tip or decline it. You need to ask your employer for more money as the cashier if you need tips. I always thought tips where for waiters and not take out food places. Pretty soon McDonald's and even safeway will include this forced option.”

“I stopped by Alhambra Donuts the other day coming back from UC Riverside and on my way to East Oakland (detour route) and must I say it was an experience. The glazed donuts are bomb and the best i’ve ever had in the Bay Area so far my tastebuds were beyond satisfied. This is also a small family owned business so that’s also a plus because I get to support that. What really makes the experience stand out is the young guy with the beard—hands down the best customer service I’ve ever had at a donut shop. He’s friendly, patient, and made my morning better after that long drive. Great donuts + amazing service = perfect combo.”

“Incredible sandwiches. No breadwiches here- real, quality meats and great portions of them complimented by fresh bread, veggies and spreads. It is the go to sandwich place in the area, hands down. Zula’s is a purely family-run operation that moved to their current location from Market and Main. They rock! The “Avo-I-Am” is just an incredible sandwich. Give Zula’s a try and feel free to put them up against them to any other sandwich in town… there is no comparison. You won’t be disappointed! Enjoy!”

“Six Eleven is an American bistro in Martinez, housed in what looks like a former mansion. The lemon chicken piccata was vibrant with lemon tartness, and the grilled, tender chicken breast cutlet satisfied with bursts of salt and sweetness from the capers and diced tomatoes. The linguine had a perfect al dente bite.

Fontina and parmesan are packed into the arancini rice balls, their boldness oozing out with each bite. Does creamy chipotle dip make sense to serve with them? Not authentically, but who cares when you’re eating arancini as light and fluffy as these?

The braised short rib pappardelle is served with a marinara sauce, Grana Padano cheese, and parsley. The pasta and sauce were beautifully flavored and prepared. Marinara and short rib can sometimes be too rich in combination for me, but I wanted more of this dish.

Six Eleven has had two “award-winning” cocktails on their specialty list when I’ve visited, though I’m unsure what award they’ve won. The Plant Mom is one, made with vodka, lemon juice, limoncello, cherry bitters, fresh mint, egg whites, and a rosemary-rose-lavender syrup. That’s a lot to pack into one drink!
And the Plant Mom does so masterfully. I’d give it an award of my own for each sip of its smooth, elegant blend that hinted of herbaceous and floral flavors.

On my second visit, the Pecan Sandra was an unusual choice for me to start a meal with, as it’s solidly on the dessert side of cocktails. But I wanted just one drink, and the ingredient list assured me this was one I couldn’t miss: brown butter fat-washed bourbon, lemon juice, pecan syrup, black walnut bitters, chocolate bitters, and candied pecans. It was as rich and luscious as you’d expect from those ingredients. And filling!”

“Always a fun time, if you havent tried it its worth a stop. Coffee shop by day, bar evenings thurs-sun. They have an awesome Happy hour on thursdays at the time of review (5$ beer, 7$ mixed drink if I recall right?). If I do get a mixed drink, this is the place to get it. Pictured is the egg white sour. They do breakfast, but not dinner foods durinb bar service. Also, as a plus, they usually don't have live music, so you can actually hear the other person you're talking to.”

“This place was a nice stop. It wasn’t busy when we came in, so we got our food pretty quickly. I ordered the BBQ chicken and short ribs, and my wife got the salmon poke bowl. She really enjoyed the poke bowl—lots of protein, and they didn’t skimp on the toppings at all.

My dish was also good. The short ribs were a little chewy, and the chicken could’ve had a bit more flavor, but if you’re really hungry like I was, it definitely hits the spot. It’s definitely quantity over quality, but still worth it.

We also tried the spam musubi, which was good, though the sauce was more drizzled on the rice instead of coating the spam. Overall, it was a good experience and we will definitely return!”

“The restaurant feels almost like a hole in the wall. The atmosphere feels very authentic, and very peaceful. The staff are amazing, and have always been so polite to my family and I. I have seen staff members immediately go to hold the door open for those who use canes or wheelchairs. Over the times I’ve been there, I had many of their items, and all of them are great. My favorite item is the Gnocchi with Gorgonzola. Overall, this restaurant is absolutely an underrated gem, and I’d completely recommend it.”

“Slow Hand never disappoints. Just got back from Austin and had bbque there at Franklins. But just tasting Slow Hand, absolutely amazing. Love, love this place! So many great drink options as well. Wow.”

“Great deli / cafe attached to a catering business. Sandwiches are outstanding. Meat piled high and very fresh vegetables. Roll was soft and light, also.

The deli operation closes at 2:00 pm daily and is closed on weekends. But in-between that, you can get a great sandwich here .

They have housemade salads of all types, incl pasta etc. I didn't try them but will - they all looked great

And, it is one of the few places to sit down and eat around here that doesn't try to shake a tip out of you at the cash register before even trying the food.

“Great spot to come in and grab some Mexican food, tried 3 tacos with an assortment of meat; Chicken, chorizo, steak, and they were absolutely delicious. From the crisp ends to the flavorful tortilla these are great! The refried beans aswell were amazing and some of my favorites. Only thing bringing this review down is the below average rice, however great service and atmosphere are unbelievable for such a hole in the wall spot.”

“I think my wife and I found our new favorite sushi spot, certainly much closer than our other one!
We came to check this place out. Standard menu, lots of options without having too many to look though either. My wife got a pork Katsu Bento box, I got a couple rolls, and we shared an appetizer or two.
Food was satisfying and the server was attentive on refills and checking on us. Best of all the prices are still reasonable here, which is nice with how much they seem to be going up everywhere else.
I think we will be going here regularly to get our sushi fix!”
