“So....if you truly like Thai food do not pass this little hole in the wall by. This place has flavor profiles that explode with burst of freshness and true Thai flavor. The portions are good and it's simply a flavor smile as your reward. Highly recommend this place.”

“We had a great time at the California Magic Club! It’s an intimate and accessible environment, comfortable atmosphere, friendly folks who work there, and very talented and personable magicians — including the owner, John Gardenier. We went for an afternoon show, and experienced an hour prior to the show of fantastic close-up magic at our table by 3 magicians. It was a wonderful personal touch on par with the subsequent show. We will definitely be going back and recommending to friends and family. The venue and content are appropriate for youth to seniors. It was a lot of fun and definitely kept us guessing. Recommended!”

“This is one of my very favorite restaurants in Martinez. I love the window seat when I can get it. Love the charming privacy it lends itself too. The service is amazing; especially if you get Darlene! She is friendly, efficient, clearly loves what she does! You are greeted as if your a long lost friend! The food is so fresh and very tasty. I've never had a bad meal in this place. They bring free bread with a balsamic dip to the table that is so good. I could drink the dip. Lol. Their CHINESE CHICKEN SALAD, DELUXE DUNGENESS CRAB MELT, GEMELLI PASTA WITH ROASTED SEASONAL VEGETABLES, AND THEIR COASTAL LINGUINI, (I substituted with chicken.) are some of my favorites. All theirs food is off the hook! Their prices are just slightly higher than the average; however, their food is great quality and they give a huge portion. They have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. I've not been there on those nights. I feel quite confident that it just adds to the already charming atmosphere.

Just love, love, love this place.

“About the best thing in Martinez.. not counting the Glorious Gals of Hilda's Pleasure-O-Rama out on Hardback Ave is the soon to be world famous Lucia's Craft Sandwiches! I was in Martinez dropping off the Spindler's Rotomiser for my 48 Pearson Applehorn to the boys over at the Monkey Ass Garage because they claimed they could realign the wobbler shaft without tearing it up. Well, I had some time to kill so I went straight to Lucia's Craft Sandwiches and had some pretty spectacular sandwiches.

“I look forward to every trip I make to the East Bay and especially the mornings, when I drive just down the road to this old school donut shop. They make donuts the way I use to like them as a child over 50 years ago. I especially love the apple fritters and the breakfast sandwiches, but all the donuts are great! If you remember the donuts of long ago, long before the Krispy Kreme and other modern gourmet donut nonsense, then give Alhambra Donuts a try!”

“Copper Skillet Courtyard is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. We recently stopped in for breakfast and found the atmosphere warm, comfortable, and welcoming. We were seated right away and given menus, and there’s also a large board featuring daily specials that’s worth checking out. Our friendly waitress greeted us promptly and brought our coffee and tea soon after. Our order of an omelet and huevos rancheros arrived without much wait and were both delicious. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience, and we’d gladly return.”

“Came here randomly on a Tuesday afternoon while in Martinez. Saw the place and craved pho... so I decided to check it out.
I have pho in a lot of places and I can say this one didn't disappoint. I saw the negative reviews and feared I made the wrong choice but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the combo pho and the broth was tasty and it had plenty of meat. I also ordered the grilled pork Bahn Mi and it was fire!! The bread was warm and soft, the pork was seasoned perfectly and it was tasty and juicy. First time here was a success. I don't normally hang around Martinez but if I come back and crave pho, I'm coming here. Hopefully they are consistent next time :)”

We ended up choosing the Hawaiian Roll, Pink Lady Roll, and Philadelphia Roll and were very happy with our selection. “Very happy with the pork fried rice both the quality and generous portion. The sweet and sour pork is also really good. I sat in the bar next door and had a beer while I waited for my food. Not that I had to wait long. I will definitely be back if not for the food then to hang out at the bar.”

“Always a fun time, if you havent tried it its worth a stop. Coffee shop by day, bar evenings thurs-sun. They have an awesome Happy hour on thursdays at the time of review (5$ beer, 7$ mixed drink if I recall right?). If I do get a mixed drink, this is the place to get it. Pictured is the egg white sour. They do breakfast, but not dinner foods durinb bar service. Also, as a plus, they usually don't have live music, so you can actually hear the other person you're talking to.”

“Great deli / cafe attached to a catering business. Sandwiches are outstanding. Meat piled high and very fresh vegetables. Roll was soft and light, also.

The deli operation closes at 2:00 pm daily and is closed on weekends. But in-between that, you can get a great sandwich here .

They have housemade salads of all types, incl pasta etc. I didn't try them but will - they all looked great

And, it is one of the few places to sit down and eat around here that doesn't try to shake a tip out of you at the cash register before even trying the food.
