“The best biriani I've ever had!”

“This restaurant is new to me, but after just a couple of visits, I can already declare that they serve some of the best Thai food in the Bay Area. Using ingredients of the highest quality, the meals are creatively presented in an equally creatively decorated atmosphere.

It was a little quiet on my two visits, but I will assume that's because word hasn't got out yet.

“Our family had an awesome time at California Magic Club yesterday. Nice how on Sundays they do an afternoon show so that you can bring the kids and they don’t get to bed too late. Super interactive experience, I love how they walk around and do up close tricks and illusions before the main show. They also ask for volunteers from the audience for the show which is fun. Everyone is super nice and they got a variety of drinks and desserts.”

“Hands down the best restaurant in Martinez. I travel from Vallejo to enjoy the Salmon and steak hibachi. The staff are so kind and friendly. The dining area is always spotless. I highly recommend you come here if you’re looking for a good quality meal!!!!”

“I grabbed take out from Sushi time and was super impressed. The packaging was great, miso soup was scalding hot, wakame fresh and crisp and perfectly seasoned. We tried Spicy Rainbow Roll, Mega Roll, Salmon Paradise, Flying Shrimp, Red Dragon and Cherry Blossom rolls. They were all incredible! They even provide training chopsticks for the kids!”

“About the best thing in Martinez.. not counting the Glorious Gals of Hilda's Pleasure-O-Rama out on Hardback Ave is the soon to be world famous Lucia's Craft Sandwiches! I was in Martinez dropping off the Spindler's Rotomiser for my 48 Pearson Applehorn to the boys over at the Monkey Ass Garage because they claimed they could realign the wobbler shaft without tearing it up. Well, I had some time to kill so I went straight to Lucia's Craft Sandwiches and had some pretty spectacular sandwiches.

“Came here randomly on a Tuesday afternoon while in Martinez. Saw the place and craved pho... so I decided to check it out.
I have pho in a lot of places and I can say this one didn't disappoint. I saw the negative reviews and feared I made the wrong choice but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the combo pho and the broth was tasty and it had plenty of meat. I also ordered the grilled pork Bahn Mi and it was fire!! The bread was warm and soft, the pork was seasoned perfectly and it was tasty and juicy. First time here was a success. I don't normally hang around Martinez but if I come back and crave pho, I'm coming here. Hopefully they are consistent next time :)”

“I look forward to every trip I make to the East Bay and especially the mornings, when I drive just down the road to this old school donut shop. They make donuts the way I use to like them as a child over 50 years ago. I especially love the apple fritters and the breakfast sandwiches, but all the donuts are great! If you remember the donuts of long ago, long before the Krispy Kreme and other modern gourmet donut nonsense, then give Alhambra Donuts a try!”

The food was all delicious and the “party trays” that I ordered came with additional food that I didn’t even know about and was pleasantly surprised to receive. “Very happy with the pork fried rice both the quality and generous portion. The sweet and sour pork is also really good. I sat in the bar next door and had a beer while I waited for my food. Not that I had to wait long. I will definitely be back if not for the food then to hang out at the bar.”

“Great deli / cafe attached to a catering business. Sandwiches are outstanding. Meat piled high and very fresh vegetables. Roll was soft and light, also.

The deli operation closes at 2:00 pm daily and is closed on weekends. But in-between that, you can get a great sandwich here .

They have housemade salads of all types, incl pasta etc. I didn't try them but will - they all looked great

And, it is one of the few places to sit down and eat around here that doesn't try to shake a tip out of you at the cash register before even trying the food.

“Hanabi has been a staple for me for the past 25 years. I've seen it change hands, change chefs, and change menus several times over the years. The new owners have brightened it up and offered some additional menu items. However, the hot night and the heart attack rolls still reign supreme for me.”
