“Everything we ordered was good. In fact we couldn’t eat it all. Your pizza was so delish! Never had chow fun wrapped up in little rolls but it was pretty good. Your shaking beef salad was good too. Definitely a dining experience in Asian fusion!“

“This place absolutely rules, everything I’ve ever had here has been great. I’d highly recommend the grilled meats, especially the pork - it had a wonderful charred flavor and crispy edges without being at all dried out. Will be coming back again and again.“

“I went here for the first time and it was an amazing experience. The food was incredible , especially the pho. The broth was so rich and flavorful, it really stood out.
What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. Our server carried the hot bowl of pho like it was nothing , I touched it for a second and it was really hot, so I was honestly amazed!
The staff made us feel so welcome and taken care of. Our server was very attentive, and even the manager came by to check on us, helped fix our plates, and made sure everything was perfect. That level of care made us feel really special.“

“Delicious Northern Vietnames restaurant with a tailored menu of 9 items but they all taste amazing. Of course, we recommend getting the pho (which has the disclaimer that bean sprouts and typical herbs won't be provided).
It's a rather small restaurant, so you may have to wait a bit, but food is prepared quickly and is full of flavor!“

“Unironically the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. The staff were incredibly friendly too. The B2 and spring rolls are absolutely amazing. Restaurant was pretty quiet (we were the only customers there the whole time), but is definitely a hidden gem.“

“I called in about 30 minutes before they were closing. The gentleman on the phone was very polite and professional, he gave me a few recommendations, and even though I don’t eat raw meat, he offered to cook it completely instead. I tried so many soups like this and can definitely say that it was one of the best pho soups I’ve tried in my life. Soooo good! Definitely recommending to try ! Thank you for great service and tasty soup.“

“The best Vietnamese food in the Bay Area! Prices are excellent. Get the Number 5 to sample everything. I would come here at least one a week if I lived nearby! Order to go if you don’t want to sit in the tiny 10-person space. The food is worth it!“

“Had a fabulous lunch yesterday, and took home enough for dinner too. The lemongrass pork vermicelli entree was loaded with marinated, crispy grilled pork and fresh crunchy vegetables, served on a large bed of vermicelli. The room is bright and very clean. Great food at a fair price.“

“So good! I got the pork rice plate to go and took it to Golden gate park to eat it. The milk tea was ok, not sure if it’s the best tea quality but ordered it because I didn’t have water with me. TLDR the food is really good I highly recommend“

“Very good pho. The pho broth was very flavorful even before I added the herbs. The noodles were all broken apart, but not too bad. We also tried the fried wings with fish sauce. It's sweet, crunchy, and tasty, but the wings were kinda small.“

“Ordered the Chicken Pho and Five Spice Chicken Pho. Both dishes were so good and comforting! The portions are big too.
Love how friendly the staff is and the restaurant itself is very clean and spacious. Can’t wait to come back to this neighborhood gem!“

“While visiting San Francisco during the windy day I was craving warm pho soup. We selected a Pho restaurant near our hotel, and we chose the right place. It was one of the best pho dishes we’ve had! I eat pho at least twice a week in Southern California, where there are plenty of choices. However, this was one of the most delicious Pho dishes I’ve had.“

“Ordered takeout - there’s no seating inside or outside. I got the cold cuts banh mi and shrimp spring rolls. The banh mi good, but it could have used more pate (it was a little dry) and more pickled veggies. The shrimp spring rolls were tasty, and the portions were generous. There are definitely some better spots in the City, but no major complaints.
As a heads up, the payment process is a little strange. They clearly prefer cash and would probably be cash only if they could. You can pay by Venmo or card, and when I asked what they preferred, the cashier said Venmo but they still add tax to your total through the register.
Overall, a solid takeout option at a fair price!“

“I really liked the Thai Ice tea. Some places fill your whole cup with too much ice. This place had just the right amount of ice not overly icy just enough and enough condensed milk in there and not overly sweet. I really enjoyed it and I would definitely buy another tie ice tea every time I walk by that place. I ordered the chicken fresh bowl and it was fantastic. Very light. It had noodles, fresh veggies, and chicken, cilantro and you could top it off with fish sauce. It was filling, but not too heavy and very flavorful. Service was very fast and helpful and I would definitely go again.“

“Very possibly the best banh mi and hue rolls I've ever had. And I've been an avid Vietnamese food eater for 15 years in NYC and have been all over Vietnam.
5 spice chicken banh mi was insanely good, but also anything with the pork shoulder is gonna be great. Could have passed on the shrimp & pork spring rolls.“

“Before today I was certain that there were no good Vietnamese restaurants in Marin. Then I tried Pho. What a find.
Very simple basic menu, but everything was perfect. Flavorful, fresh, generously sized, good service. Everything was right. We are talking San Francisco - San Jose level of excellence for Vietnamese food. I used to think you had to go to the City to find great Vietnamese food, But now we have it local here in San Rafael. The other Vietnamese restaurants around town can't even compare. This restaurant is now on my short list. Coming back. Five star.“

“This is the best Bahn Mi sandwich I’ve had in the Marin… dare I say the Bay Area. The menu is limited and the decor is simple inside but the owner and staff are super nice and friendly. They make sandwiches quickly. And the bang mi sandwiches are amazing. I think it’s the bread. Their bread is great.
Menu is limited to chicken, tofu/veggie, pork and ham and cheese banh mi, but one they make incredible sandwiches.
Highly recommend this place if you’re craving Vietnamese Bahn Mi sandwiches.“

“Ordered chicken pho. Loved the broth flavor and noodle texture. Also, I appreciated the smart packaging very much for a takeout order. They serve noodles, chicken, onions and cilantro in a bowl and broth in a separate container. You can pour the broth into a bowl and it's ready to consume!“

“Really good food - we got the Korean fried chicken banh mi, which had a nice sweet heat to it. And the curry tofu was also nice and crispy. My sister literally was drinking the salad dressing. Also they were very nice, making us a half veggie and half chicken banh mi.“

“Came in for pho. The soup was VERY clean but a bit too lean for my taste. Meat was a bit chewy but the broth was clear and flavorful. Started with the fresh spring rolls and those were very fresh but needed a bit more sauce than what I got. Will go back for other menu items.“

“From the moment I walked in, I knew this place was special. The aroma of simmering broth instantly pulled me in, and every bite lived up to the promise. The pho was perfection — rich, fragrant, and full of depth, with tender slices of beef and perfectly cooked noodles. You can taste the care and tradition in every spoonful.
Whether you’re a pho fanatic or trying it for the first time, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again!“

“I highly recommend this small restaurant and its signature Pho: the broth is perfectly seasoned (with extra salt available on the table), it’s packed with meat, and the noodles are excellent. I love soup and would recommend this spot to tourists; the prices are great, and the place is clean and cozy. The fact that locals dine here is the best guarantee of the food's quality.“

“This place has some of the best pho I've had in a long time. The broth is rich and flavorful, the portions are generous, and the prices are surprisingly affordable. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. The owner is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about both the food and the customers,
If you're looking for authentic, delicious pho without spending a fortune, this is the spot. I've brought friends and family here, and everyone leaves happy.
And if you somehow don't like the pho here... I know you’re taste in food is horrible. 😅 Highly recommend! 🍜🔥“

“The best sandwiches around!! I tried #2 & 5. Like them cuz they are the least bready, most crunchy sandwiches. The meat is flavorful and the crispy crunchy veggies really add a lot of texture and flavor. This is not about atmosphere, it’s all about flavor & texture.“

“Ordering is done via a pad - no cash! And : NO TOILET. That is had. And it is a dine in location. I thought that is a requirement. Also, traditional banh mi is $11.50 but if you order it, it has a $1 surcharge for a traditional banh mi. Makes no sense and seems like a scam. Place is nicely designed. Clean. Wait is a bit longer than in comparable places. Food is good. It won some BEST OF MARÍN awards. The announcement that your meal is ready is done HOA a DMV like loud announcement….“

“Golden Lotus is a cozy little Vietnamese restaurant on Larkin Street that’s perfect for a casual meal. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and was surprised that it wasn’t very busy, which help make a nice & relaxed dining experience here. The service was quick and friendly, and my food came out fast.
I ordered the vegetarian bun Hue, and the portion was generous for the price. The flavors were good, especially considering how affordable everything was. Overall, a solid bowl and a filling meal.
I’ve only tried their vegetarian options so far, but I’m curious to come back and explore more of the menu next time. Maybe go with some friends to try more dishes as well. Overall, a good neighborhood spot for Vietnamese food.“

“The bbq lemongrass beef pho is a superstar. Get it. Eat it. You won’t regret it. (Also, the beef portion was generous, I just ate a lot of it before remembering to take the photo lol)
The space and atmosphere is super cozy and aesthetic. Loved all the minimalist art on the wall and the warm lighting with the antique chandeliers.
Service was great. The older woman running the show was as sweet as apple pie.
Glad I randomly got hungry before going to the de young :)“

“If you're scanning for a Vietnamese spot in the Richmond that balances bold flavors with comforting familiarity, Y & Y has quietly been doing its thing.
I recently visited and ordered their satay noodles, and it turned out to be one of those meals you linger over, slowing down to savor every spoonful.
What I Loved
* Depth in the broth. The satay base had a rich, nutty backbone layered with spice -- not just heat, but complexity. You could taste peanut undercurrents melding with lemongrass, garlic, and chili in a way that felt warming and bold rather than aggressive.
* Spice done right. It hit the sweet spot -- spicy enough to awaken your senses without obliterating them. And the heat built rather than dominated, which encouraged you to keep sipping.
* Noodle + texture play. The strands soaked up the broth beautifully -- slippery but not mushy. Added onions, herbs, and bits of protein gave contrast and a freshness that kept the bowl from feeling heavy.
If your goal is a bowl that feels both comforting and full of punch, the satay noodles at Y & Y are a must-order. It's a dish worth planning for -- go when you have the time to linger. After this, I definitely want to come back and try their pho and spring rolls (which others frequently recommend).“

“My boyfriend and I came here last week on a rainy Tuesday. We were desperate for pho because of the weather. Our usual pho spots nearby were closed so I came across this place online. I was nervous at first because the reviews seemed mixed, especially about the service. But I’m glad we came here regardless because we had one of the best bowls of pho ever! We got the beef pho with steak and brisket. The broth had a nice flavor. The noddles were nicely cooked. There was plenty of noodles and meat in the bowl. I also got the thai tea, which was very yummy! I can see why there was some complaints online about the service as there was only one server, who was also taking online orders and helping out in the kitchen (not sure if he was cooking?). So he wasn’t that attentive but he was friendly when he did come to our table and our food came out very promptly for there being little staff. So don’t let the reviews foul you! I’m definitely coming back & 10/10 would recommend“

“When I first tried out their pho, I remember thinking it tasted so familiar until I learned there are two other locations in Daly City, which are the ones I used to go to. So happy they also have a location in the city, so I can get my fix! Highly recommend coming early since line can be long during lunch and dinner hours. However, if you come during those busy hours, don't worry, the line moves fast here!“

“Best Banh mi EVER. Mill Valley location has perfected this sandwich. Good quality meat, portions of each individual ingredient- spectacular. And I'm dying to know what was in their chili oil, it was very unique and flavorful. I get bbq pork but the flavor somehow still feels traditional to a patay. Will be patronizing often, I recommend you do too.“
