“This place has been around for a while as a central hub for drinking and casual dining. The Reubin is Great as are fish tacos.

A recent visit begs me to update this post. Fish tacos were delivered without hotsauce or silverware. Never got either. 2nd Lemon Drop Martini was alcohol heavy ($17 ea). Hostess and server both from Russia or Eastern block...did not know what Google wallet was, had to ask. My 1st martini glass never got picked up even after I set it on top of the completed taco plate and pushed it far aside. The used dishes were ignored 3 times by a questioning server and sat the entire time after I had departed.

“Love love loved this place. It's a cute little restaurant inside a grocery store. They have outdoor seating but we were in in a snow storm, so had to manage with the limited space indoors. But the food and the people were so good. My husband took the leaf eater and I took the teriyaki udon noodle soup. Both were Yum. We even took a pesto baguette to-go. Everything about this place is to fall in love with. ?

“One of our favorite Lake Tahoe restaurants. We celebrated my wife's birthday there, and the food and service is amazing. They have gluten free options. The views are wonderful. Make sure to get a table by the window. The portions are not huge, but very flavorful. You also have to book your reservation with a credit card on Open Table, which is not usual.“

“This is my favorite restaurant in California. I’ve had there tasting menus twice, and each time it was a new, miraculous experience. Their food is exquisite, the service is nice, and the ambiance is as expected. It’s a hidden gem in truckee and if you have the time and money I’d highly recommend it. It is worth the price, without a doubt. I had a pine ice dish about 2 years ago as one of the dessert courses and it was like eating the best blue bird powder day ever, with a hint of cozy cabin glow.“

We ordered , and was pleasantly surprised that our food came fast . It was hot and tasted Delicious . Whenever I visit Reno ,I will make it a point to eat here .“

“This restaurant is fantastic! Lukas was one of the best servers I have come across. They have unique and flavorful twists on traditional Scandinavian dishes. And the manager Jeff sources local foods. The ahi appetizer in cones was a recommendation from Jeff and did not disappoint. Our Schnitzel was fabulous and so was the elk pot pie. It was quiet at the time we happened to be there so we got to chat a bit. We learned that the owner’s daughter is the pastry chef so we had to try the cheesecake. Also delicious. It was just a great dining experience.“

“Excellent service here, everyone here was super friendly and directed me to a table with an outlet so I could charge my things. They also let me sign one of the flags they had hanging on the ceiling which was a cool experience.

I ate the salmon bagel there, the bagel itself was quite delicious. My only critique was that I felt there could have been more salmon on the bagel and less tomato. Would recommend.“

We have a place in Truckee so they'll be our go-to restaurant for apres skiing parties for sure.“

“A bike event on Sunday turned into a cold, rainy, windy, miserable day. We went to The Dam Cafe for hot chocolate and got so much love! The owner not only welcomed the wet, muddy riders in, she put out space heaters and wrapped us in blankets! Amazing! I was so cold and was warmed both physically and emotionally by the kindness. “The Sawyer is a lively and fun place to dine. Service is excellent. We had the beef stroganoff, portobello mushroom on brioche bun, cheesy loaf were all made to perfection. Yum! Special shout out to the cheesy loaf— we would go back just for that. It is that good! While the room was full of energy, the entire experience was relaxing and we got to enjoy our meal and have nice conversation. Our server did a great job! And we were never rushed. We had a wonderful night. We will be back!“

“I was searching for food that was not crowded, admittedly I was overwhelmed by the weekenders that flock from all over cities that were crammed in the shopping district. I spotted a church building with a small sign that said, cafe open, as I was making my way out of town with haste. Alas, I found exactly what I needed. Score, big time. It is a beautiful, tranquil space, and the sandwich I had, Ban mi (add turkey)...beyond exquisite. The lavender drink concoction was eloquent and refreshing. Go here for a zen delicious af meal and very nice service.“

It's cozy, the staff are super friendly and it's a genuinely unfussy, American-style Italian place that fills you up with comfort food. Came back after a long time away and nothing has changed. “This place closes at 10pm. They let me order for takeaway at 10:30 when everything else was closed. To my most pleasant surprise, I got a paneer that was absolutely delicious, paired with equally delicious basmati rice and mango lassi. They were incredibly kind and gracious, and the food was fantastic. All of the food containers were absolutely filled to the brim, so I have leftovers for tomorrow. The medium spicy was more of a medium-hot spicy, but paired with the rice and the lassi it was perfect. Highly recommend!!“

“We stopped to eat here before the fireworks at Commons beach on 4th of July and it was great. Awesome local vibe with good drink selection and classic American dishes. They had large TV’s with baseball on, so my son was happy. Parking was easy and the staff was friendly and kind!“
