Unfortunately there were 4 kids screaming at the top of their lungs and their parents never told them to stop. Not the restaurants fault at all! “Wolfgang Puck Express is one of the ready made food sections inside the Gelsons market in Pacific Palisades. As a fan of Wolfgang Puck and his numerous string of restaurants, when these smaller chains opened, I was skeptical about the quality of the food. Offered are pizzas, salads and pasta. Have tried only the pizzas and is the basis of my review.Pre and during COVID, after seeing the cleanliness methods of the preparation of the pizzas and have had positive interactions with the employees, I felt comfortable enough to have tried the first freshly baked pizzas. I will only accept the freshly baked and NOT the pizza that's been sitting on the counter. Pizzas are available by the slice, build your own with preferred toppings or you can order their signature pizzas. So far all the pizzas I've tried, were fantastic tasting. It's too bad, Spago's famous smoked salmon with caviar pearls are not offered here. I have tried: the veggie, mushroom and pepperoni. These pizzas have been quite good and beyond satisfactory for takeout to enjoy at home. Recommend!“

“One of my favorite LA restaurants. The food is always good, regardless of what night of the week or weekend you go there. The oxtail dumplings, snap peas, octopus skewers, and the eggplants are my favorite small dishes and the ribeye and the whole snapper are the favorite mains. The only food item that I had and did not like was the skirt steak. It had no flavor whatsoever.Top it all off with the strawberry custard and the chocolate bar for dessert.“

Recently, a salad of thinly shaved manchego, mint, beets and radicchio first course and a perfectly cooked Sea bass, very plump clams, broad beans, and fennel second course in a seafood broth lightly seasoned with dill were superb, as were desserts that our waiter allowed us to substitute for the third course. “What a great restaurant. The food was delicious from the appetizers, main dishes, deserts and drinks. We were a party of 13 plus 3 under 3 for my wife's birthday. From the moment we arrived, the owner, Fred, met us and made sure we were well cared for, the same care he gave each table. The staff never rushed us and made sure everyone's needs were met including getting the kids orders out quickly while the rest of us celebrated. This is a rare find in today's restaurant world and our whole family looks forward to visiting and dining there soon. Their meat board contains delicious selections of cured meats and cheese with some sweet jam. All of these items pair nicely with their Chilean red, which is a reasonably priced and tasty bottle. I've only eaten inside but they have a nice patio in the back. The inside is dim and cozy. This is a great spot for a date night or a night out with friends. This was not the intended destination, but my friend and I were extremely glad that we went, since we're Francophiles!! They feature classically French dishes, but also Italian, making it a bit of fusion cuisine. Okay, a mojito is not French, but it was one of the best I have had in a very long time! I stuck to French cuisine. Started with soup a l'onion. Delicious! A lot of gruyere and the right amount of onions, bread and soup. Next were the escargots in olive oil with a lot of garlic! Yum! Main course was the mussels! Those had to be the largest, most succulent mussels I have ever had! They came with fries, but you really didn't need them. I brought them home. Last was the Napoleon or mille feuille. Creamy! There were three layers: one with just the cream, second with strawberries, and the last with nuts. Wow! Never had one like that!The proprietor was very kind. He brought us our drinks and was very kind when we spoke to him in French. Wait staff was very courteous and we felt no pressure to eat and leave. To show how good this place was, we ended up sitting next to a well known French actor. My friend recognized him first. They say that if people of the same nationality as the restaurant dine there, it's usually a compliment to the restaurant and a testament of the food. Upon arrival we marveled at the glorious atmosphere. I ordered a grilled chicken melt which was fantastic, but the most glorious part of the night came when the lovely waitress offered if we wanted a slice of pie I was again hesitant as I have never tried a banana pie and wouldn't see myself enjoying it. As soon as it was brought out and I took a bite and I took a glance at my friend then my cousin and we all looked at each other in disbelief, we questioned ourselves but ultimately concluded that this was the best pie we had ever tried. The pie was so creamy and the bananas toppings and filling really brought it all together. The breading was like the Lord himself gave instructions on how to make it. In that moment when me and my companions glanced at each other I felt a sense of togetherness it brought me back to my childhood when my single mother would come home and bake me and my siblings a nice fresh pie.
