“You have to try it. The place is great, the service is very good but the food is amazingly good. Healthy oriental food and self cooking on a spicy-based soup hot pot (or not spicy) with unlimited entrees and appetizers. For dessert, tey the mango sherbet. The Pacifica view right off highway 1 is amazing 👏“

“We came to Mumu Hot Pot in San Francisco because we had previously gone to the one in Pleasanton and loved it, so we decided to check out this location for another hot pot fix no reservations or long wait, and we were seated right away. As hot pot lovers, this spot hit the spot with its focus on personal mini pots and high-quality ingredients, making it a cozy, customizable experience that’s perfect for solo diners or small groups.
ATMOSPHERE:
This casual Chinese hot pot joint has a welcoming, no-frills vibe think spacious seating for groups (plenty at the Stonestown-adjacent location), simple decor with wooden tables, and an open setup where the aroma of simmering broths fills the air. The smell of the restaurant was okay, with decent ventilation keeping things fresh, and the bathrooms were very clean. It’s lively during peaks but never overwhelming, fitting 30+ people comfortably with a neighborhood feel that’s great for a relaxed meal in SF’s west side.
MENU:
The menu (qr code) centers on build-your-own hot pot with personal mini pots, offering broth bases like buttery spicy - (my personal fave), sichuan spicy, tom yum, tomato, or mushroom, plus premium meats (beef, lamb, pork), seafood, veggies, noodles, and add-ons. Combo sets for 1-2 people make ordering easy, with a solid sauce bar for customization. No all-you-can-eat, but generous portions and fresh options throughout.
FOOD:
The buttery spicy broth was the star addicting with its rich, fiery kick that kept us dipping everything in sight, perfectly balancing heat and creaminess. We loaded up on high-quality meats that cooked up tender and flavorful, but the veggie assortment was overwhelming we ended up with way too many that went uneaten, which felt wasteful given the pricing. Still, the fresh ingredients and that broth made it a crave-worthy hot pot experience we’d rank among SF’s better ones.
SERVICE:
No reservations needed, and even with a potential waitlist, service was efficient and friendly our server was knowledgeable about broth pairings and kept things moving smoothly.
TIPS:
Opt for combo sets to share and avoid over-ordering veggies, as portions are generous. It’s on the pricier side compared to other hot pots (expect $30-50 per person), so we’d love an AYCE option or adjusted pricing for better value. The sauce bar is top notch, with a wide array of condiments, spices, and mixes to elevate your dips try experimenting for custom flavors. Parking near Stonestown is convenient with the mall lot nearby, but go early to beat crowds.
OVERALL:
Was it worth the visit? Absolutely, especially for hot pot fans hooked on that spicy, mouth-numbing broth. Mumu delivers quality and fun in a casual SF setting, though better pricing or AYCE would make it unbeatable. We’ll be back, but with a lighter hand on the veggies.“

“We were a party of six, and all six of us found the food to be excellent. We ordered a 6-dish special meal that included a steamed fish fillet. I don't think it was a fresh fish, but it was large and plenty good. We were able to pick garlic noodles, which is one of my favorites, as one of our 6 dishes.“

“Just found out Serramonte Center has Yang Guo Fu in the food court 😂 Perfect spot for a hot bowl of malatang on a foggy Daly City lunch break. $14.99/lb with fresh veggies, meats, and three soup bases (beef bone, tomato, spicy dry). Loved the beef & lamb rolls, mushrooms, lotus root, and konjac for a lighter option. Their red oil wontons ($5.99) are freshly made and so tasty—can’t wait to try the dim sum they’re adding soon!“

“All the food is fresh, and choosing what's in season makes it even tastier. For larger groups, the big round tables come with the added bonus of individual hot pots built right into the table. It's easier to order dishes when you have a bigger group here ( 3+ people)“

“The service was great (my wife does all the speaking but the waiter did speak some English). The ma (numbing) broth was very unique and was our favorite over the spicy that we usually trend towards. It has exceptional flavor, a nice floral taste, and that numbness that was advertised.
The meat selection is fun and has what you would expect from hot pot. The skewers were the highlight, I loved that the vegetables bring the stock along so that when you bite in, it tastes like the soup and keeps the meat moist!
The dessert options had a fried mochi with soy sauce glaze and fried mantou that I would've been happy just snacking on without any other food. The place feels like home and doesn't feel very rushed on a calm Sunday evening. It was a nice way to unwind after a busy Sunday.“

“BEST coconut chicken hotpot I’ve ever had in the bay!!!!!
The soup was made with fresh coconut - they cracked the coconut and added the coconut water into our soup. We could also eat the coconut meat inside - it was so fresh.
And then they added chicken - the soup was just HEAVENLY. As a person who is from the region where coconut chicken was originated, I 100% approve its authenticity!!
And the price was soooo good too - $35 per person!“

“I didn’t expect the hot pot place in Pacifica was good but wow~~~
We were looking for some hot food after an hour watching whales by the beach.
We found this place on Google maps and gave it a try.
$40 per person for AYCE hot pot and grill which is great price in Bay Area.
We ordered about 40 items most were good and fresh.
The lady waitress was very friendly giving us suggestions. We definitely will come back!“
