“To John Hansen, My wife and I would like to thank you for such a lovely evening. Chez Bacchus represents the “True Expression of a Dining Experience”. Starting with the welcoming staff at the entrance. John, your hospitality is the beginning of the joyful experience. The restaurant is so elegant. We enjoyed the vaulted ceilings with wood beams. We enjoyed the large window at the kitchen area so you can see the Chefs at work. We got to sit next to the impressive wine rack display. The restaurant’s ambiance wouldn’t be complete without the soft background music. Our waiter, Issac, was a delight. He provided us with his expertise in choosing our wines, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. It was a pleasure to meet to give special thanks to the Chef, Danny Le and Su Chef, Donald. Their expertise is why we had an amazing and delicious dinner.“

“The food was excellent last night. We had the butter chicken pot pie, lamb kebabs, nachos, and sticky ribs- all were delicious. What we didn't like was that our reservation was at 7pm and we weren't seated until 7:30. The host never really apologized and they don't have anywhere to sit and wait.“

“Went here for early brunch when opened and was not disappointed. The reasurant was amazing. The shrimp was grilled beautifully. Ordered the 917 burger as well and shared the 6 oz steak (medium well) with my boyfriend and it was the best decision. Definitely a place to try and the center is an amazing experience and sight to view while eating. Coming back soon!“

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming café, and I must say, it left quite an impression. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. Our friend from Dusseldorf, whose taste buds are undoubtedly refined, vouched for the quality of the pastries and coffee, and I couldn't agree more. Each sip of coffee was rich and satisfying, while the pastries were baked to perfection, boasting a delightful blend of flavors. One aspect that particularly impressed me was the selection of breakfast and brunch dishes. It's not often you find a place that offers such a variety of fresh, light, and healthy options. Whether you're craving something savory or sweet, there's something on the menu to satisfy every palate. The ambiance of the café is casual yet inviting, with indoor bar seating adding to the cozy atmosphere. However, the real gem lies in the outdoor patio, complete with heat lamps and sun shades. It's the perfect spot to enjoy your meal al fresco, no matter the weather. What truly sets this establishment apart is its commitment to being a local favorite. Supporting a place run by such passionate individuals who consistently deliver exceptional food and service is a pleasure. Overall, I can confidently say that this café is a hidden gem worth discovering.“

“I hosted a Baby Shower with 30 guest on Sunday at Saint & Second and reserved the entire upstairs! The Mimosa Brunch planned by Margaret was so delicious and great Preseco for the Mimosas too!Margaret went above and beyond in helping us put on a wonderful event for our memories! Mel and Dom were especially attentive to all the quest and provided such helpful and friendly service! The food was so so delicious! French Toast, Biscuits, TriTip hash, Eggs Benedict, and Breakfast sandwiches were served in the Buffet presentation. It was a memorable event that was remarked on by all who attended.I highly recommend this space to anyone looking for a great event space for a special occasion. Thank you Margaret for helping make this such a wonderful time!“

“We happened to stumble upon The Ordinarie Tavern in Long Beach and we’re glad we did! The service was first rate and the food was really good! I highly recommend the chicken pot pie bites as an appetizer. They were fantastic. We also tried the half chicken entree and the short rib French dip, both of which were also good. Happy Hour is offered from 3-6pm, with specials on beers, drinks and food.“

“Overall, I highly recommend Urban Plates to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in a welcoming environment. I will definitely be returning soon to try more of their amazing dishes. And Dani was also a great help she told us good options for us that we might enjoy.“
“They now do a themed five course dinner once a month. Option to have a wine pairing with each course. One seating per night for 2-3 nights. Must reserve in advance, sells out. We went to the “tomato” dinner. High quality, imaginative dishes with good wine pairings. The chef came out and discussed all five courses in detail and a “wine guy” did the same for each wine pairing, which enhanced the experience. Option to buy bottles of the reasonably priced wines ($20-30 per bottle) after. Lasted about 2.5 hours. Indoor and outdoor seating available.“

“This was our first private chef experience and without a doubt it blew us away! The attention to detail Chefs Juan and Nicole gave us was amazing. It was our 8 year wedding anniversary and they made it that much better. My wife had the filet mignon and I had the ribeye and the dry rub they use for the steaks was so good that I had to take some home and Chef Juan was gracious enough to share his secret rub. You can tell with just a couple minutes of conversation they are passionate about their craft and it shows in the quality and taste of the food. We had some fresh margarita cocktails to along side the dinner and you can taste the freshness as-well. I just wish I was able to take pictures of the night and the food but my wife and I enjoyed a couple hours of just us time for the first time in a long time. Thank you Chefs!!“

“I've been reading a lot lately about finding a "third place". A place outside of work and home where you can relax, socialize, build your community. Wine on 2nd fits the bill. The owners and the staff are so welcoming, as are the other guests. The vibe is perfect. Chill, calm. I got the baked brie and it was absolutely delicious! Is one of my favorite dishes anyway and when it's done right, chef's kiss. I paired it with a sparkling wine and it was exactly what I needed.I'm already in love with this place, parking is easy, the location is great. Come and go grab a glass of wine and then go enjoy the Christmas lights or come here after. It's easy to get to, incredible ambiance. I can see why it won best wine bar last year. I expect it will do it again this year.Vegetarian options: I'm a vegetarian and a lot of the dishes are vegetarian. As in made to have a full set of flavors, not just a garden salad.“

“I have tried a fair share of vegan restaurants being from the Bay Area but I have never had an array of delicious vegan options quite like this! For apps, we tried the crab cakes, Cajun fries, and grits.Hands down, the crab cakes were the clear winner. The texture and flavor profile were the closest resemblance to non-vegan crab cakes that I’ve ever tried ?I don’t normally like grits but these grits [pleasantly] surprised me. The Cajun fries were also really good! The soy meat in the fries were a very similar chewy texture to carne asada so everything had its own merit! For entrees, we got the loco moco, the Hawaiian dish, and the wet burrito. The loco moco and the Hawaiian dishes were my favorite. The loco moco patty was super tender, and the pairing with the vegan egg on top with the gravy sauce just made for an amazing combination of savory flavors. The Hawaiian dish with the greens was a nice break from the heaviness of the grits and loco moco. The wet burrito is ginormous. Definitely ordered way too much overall, but we don’t regret having leftovers for the next day. :) everything is too good not to try!We also got complimentary beignets at the end of the meal! The service was impeccable. Thank you for an amazing experience!“

“I'm so glad that there is a good restaurant like this near where I live. First of all, the food quality is good and the price is also good. Also, while eating the food, I felt how sincere the chef and owner are about the food. Other places often don't have fresh ingredients, but here all the ingredients are fresh and they don't skimp on the ingredients. It's close to home so I think I'll go often.“

“Dined here some years back when they first opened and it wasn't very memorable. Gave it another try as my wife has recently gone with her parents and was highly impressed. Ordered the steak salad, calamari and sea bass. They were all very good, especially the sea bass and the calamari. The sea bass was nicely cooked, paired with some glass noodles, spinach and shitakke mushrooms. Delish. It also had a nice kick to it. The calamari was well prepared, crunchy yet soft, not too chewy. Also went well with some fried chili/jalapeno peppers. Overall, I think it is worth coming back to explore the menu further.“

“A beachside cafe on the sand is everything I didn't know I needed here in LA/OC. It's such a great chill spot, plenty of parking, just steps away from the Pacific Ocean. They have corn hole, giant Jenga, a climbing park right next to it. So it's an amazing spot for families and even the pups (they offer unseasoned grilled beef patties!)I got the tofu banh mi with a side salad and a machaca breakfast burrito. Surprisingly, the food was actually pretty impressive, half of me was expecting beach shack quality. The food does take a bit to come out, but it's not fast food here. They serve alcohol, have vegan options, breakfast all day. It's a pretty great spot to relax, enjoy the sound of the beach waves, dig your toes in the sand, and eat/drink.“

“Noble Bird Rotisserie in Long Beach is located in the PCH and 2nd outdoor mall. The atmosphere and location are the big "draws," but the food is also quite good, as well! The rotisserie chicken and chicken and waffles, of course, are easy highlights, but you can't go wrong if you're in the mood for a sandwich or bowl. We ordered the g-sandwich, the steak and avocado bowl (but substituted with chicken), and the charred green beans; all were a delight to our surprise and very satisfying. The service is fast and always friendly; and the perfect spot to pause during your shopping trip to PCH and 2nd.“

“Service. Impeccable. Food? You get what you paid for. ?...Amazing. Now, if you are expecting a tranquile romantic dinner with great conversation....is too loud. The bar is right there next to the tables. Groups of dudes are coming a little drunk and well... personally I rather a quiter place if I am good to pay $63 for Chilean Bass and $98 for Surf n' Turf. To impress someone, nice group of 4 friends? Sure! Nice place. And once again, the service is A+ sofisticated and knowledgeable. Would I go back? Yes.“

“3rd time coming here and it was good. I had the billionaire burger which was good but they slightly overcooked my meat. The blue cheese fries were great. Also the raspberry margarita with the nosotros blanco tequila was amazing. Our server was really good, they just happened to be very understaffed so she was doing EVERYTHING.Parking: Parking can be very difficult to find during busy times. You may need to circle the block a couple of times to find someone leaving“

“We discovered this place about a year ago when shopping at Lazy Acres. It was busy on our first visit but no surprise for a Sunday around noon. We don't eat burgers often, but my wife and I were both in the beef mood. Had their basic burger and it was nothing short of AMAZING. Went back there this past Wednesday and we both ordered their double burger Fuego style. Even more AMAZING! Excellent beef flavor, hot and spicy ghost pepper cheese and the "Familiar Sauce" has a great bite as well. The place was just as busy on a Wednesday night as it was at Sunday lunch. Obviously, a neighborhood favorite.Check it out next time you're in the area. You'll not be disappointed.“
“Having seen it featured on Remarkable Places to Eat, and read the positive recommendations on Trip Advisor, I had to visit Glen's Kitchen when I was passing through Bristol. Caribbean cuisine is not normally high on my list of choices for a meal; however...... I got to Glen's just as breakfast was finishing and before lunch was starting but Glen and his staff looked after me and served me as quickly as they could. I chose the Goat Curry with rice and peas. It was absolutely delicious. I now appreciate how enjoyable Caribbean cuisine can be and will return sometime to try the J*** Chicken. Glen himself came out to see me and I was touched that he took time to do this. It seemed that nothing was too much trouble for himself and his staff. You will have to seek out Glen's Kitchen if you are a visitor to the area as it is off the beaten track somewhat but it is well worth the visit. The fact that people go out of their way to eat there says it all. The food, value and service are superb. Glen deserves all the praise he has received and I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone who likes Caribbean food, and even those like me who are not connoisseurs may find themselves converted!“

“I went there for lunch with three friends. It was sprinkling and cold so we went inside instead of the covered patio area. Inside was very noisy, we could barely hear ourselves speak. The area is small with a huge bar. Next time we come we will try the patio area. The food and service were great.“

“Our favorite neighborhood hang right now! Riley's never disappoints. I love the Watermelon Margarita. They have a decent beer selection. All the food is excellent! The Poke Wonton Tostadas and Ceviche are delicious and reliable appetizers. The Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad and the Steak Salad are two of my favorites. They serve very, very good pizzas and burgers. But my absolute all time favorite item on the Riley's menu is the Smash Burger. This burger is perfect in every way!!! “It’s a cool concept and convenient for a quick meal pick up. It’s not a sit down restaurant, it’s like a collective of restaurants, like a food court but not because there’s only a couple places to sit and eat. You can order food online or at the site and pick up there. I didn’t know it was set up this way so it was confusing when driving there and trying to find it. The building says Daisy on it, you can park and go in.“

“I love this place. I have been here more than 20 times in the past 2 years. They have Lobsterfest that includes my husband's favorite, steamers, as well as, 2 lobsters, lobster rolls and a few others. Sorry it's over this year, Nov 5th. All of their food is great, and they have a varied menu.It is a bar and restaurant and it can get very loud. We go at off times, so it's not an issue. I suggest you go! Daily food specials, happy hour specials, and always a smiling face to greet you.“
“Well, it's elegant. Elegant and actually quiet. Really, really blissfully quiet. The food wants to be elegant and fancy, but often falls short. Bland but nice, I'd say. When at USC, this is where I'll eat. I can have a pleasant convo with a friend and hear and be heard. When alone, I can blissfully zone out while reading the latest New Yorker. I'll have a nice meal, sometimes priced reasonably, and sometimes priced somewhat higher than necessary. The drinks are good. Indeed, if it were in a different locale, it would be a terrific bar for a relaxing drink at the end of the day. The problem is the staff. When at my table, they are always polite and professional. If they don't know the answer to my question, they'll go to someone to get a correct answer. But, the difficulty is getting them to my table in the first place and then trying to get them to return during the meal. This is based on my visits, usually a few times a year, for the last three decades, so it is definitely an ongoing concern. This doesn't have to do with understaffing a busy restaurant. The place is never that busy and there are always one or two servers standing at the service station, often looking bored and staring into space. The thing is, I'm always there to attend an event and I've almost missed the beginning of several events simply because I can't get the server's attention to bring the check and then, once brought, to give him/her my card and have it returned promptly. Often I'll need to go to the servers' station and ask for the check and take care of it there. Tonight for instance, I did get the server's attention, mouthed the word "check", and did the hand in air scribble motion that seems to be the universal pantomime for "check, please". The guy actually looked at me throughout this process, then looked away and ignored me! I won't bother telling you more tales of woe about the service this evening, but suffice it to say it was par for the course and why I always plan two hours for a meal that usually would last about an hour and a half.BTW, note that a 16% service fee will be added to your bill automatically. Under "tip" on my check I wrote "Included in the bill." I always tip between 20 and 25%, even in a diner, but I was annoyed and felt if the management thinks 16% is enough, that's okay by me. Although some think this is a member's only place, I'm not a member and I can tell you in all the years I've eaten there, I've never once been asked about membership. To sum up: elegant, quiet, lovely ambiance, decent if uninspired food, good drinks, problematic service.“

“After bowling a couple games, I decided to stop in Cal Bowl Coffee Shop for a bite to eat. Went with something simple and healthy. A salad with the works. After placing my order (I was the only customer) I started wondering what was taking so long. Grab the salad out of the fridge and serve. Much to my surprise, the guy made the salad there on the spot. Fresh ingredients, including bacon, turkey, cheese, crisp fresh veggies and slices of egg! No pre-made salad sitting for days ... made there on the spot, and wow! Excellent. Seems everything is pretty much made this way. Definitely worth a short wait because the food and flavor is rewarding. AND my order was just a salad. LoL. Will be back to sample some of the special doughnuts and a cooked meal. Don't let the 'cafe' fool you, this is quality dinning.“
