“A pretty decent family owned Vietnamese restaurant. It’s been a while we saw traditional dripping coffee, so we really liked it. The taste was authentic. For the food, we ordered one Shrimp spring rolls, one Grilled pork ball spring rolls and one Pho Tai. Pho was decent, the broth was just okay. The other two dishes were good. But, I agreed the price was quite expensive compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I have tried.I think they kinda lack of staff because one lady took the job of waiter + cashier + preparing drinks, one uncle served food and cleaned up tables, and there seemed to be only one chef. Thus, it took a bit of time for food to be served. But, the lady was very nice. She chatted with us for a bit while serving our drinks and during checkout.

“The beef bone rice noodles are too spicy and difficult to swallow. The side dishes such as dried radish and shredded kelp that I used to like are no longer available. The service is very good and the porridge is delicious. There is only one kind of thin rice noodle in Hunan rice noodle, and there is no medium wide rice noodle, so there are very few choices. It would be better if it can be expanded to include chili fried pork rice noodles, rice bowls, etc. I hope the rice noodles can be spicy. The spicy rice noodles at dynasty bbq next door are delicious. I'm used to giving 5 stars but I'm very disappointed. After eating it for more than a year, the quality is getting worse and worse.“

“Gonna give it 4 stars because while the aburasoba is good I'd like them to make mazesoba too, which has more complex ingredients, preparation, and flavor. Mogomogu in Sawtelle, LA sets the benchmark for great mazesoba on the west coast.“

“Solid tonkatsu with spinach added. The soft-boiled egg was a bit disappointing as it was a bit cold, but the rest was good. Interestingly, this was the first time I've had chasu that was grilled. Gotta say, it's an excellent innovation.
The service was friendly and fast, while the atmosphere was a bit sterile.“

“Amazing ramen! There is a line out here for a reason. However if you come very early and are okay with an early dinner, it takes less time. But honestly worth the wait. I love that there is more than one vegetarian option and the taste is phenomenal!“

“I have been eating at Sushi House for almost 30 years and have almost always ordered their amazing Chinese Chicken salad (prepared the Japanese way) and shrimp tempura udon. It is my go-to place for authentic Japanese comfort food, and their Chinese Chicken salad is the best I’ve ever had. I hope they never change that dish!!! Also, Rueben the waiter, is awesome and has waited on my table for almost 20 years. I appreciate such consistency in staff who go above and beyond.“

“Came here with a buddy and made out for about $50 or less. We ordered 3 rolls and split them, which was enough food for the two of us. The portions were fairly well sized and reasonably priced(for current bay area sushi prices). The fish tasted fresh, and they had plenty of options. They were not very busy and the waitress was friendly. I enjoyed the mostly wooden decor, reminded me of the more old school sushi places i grew up with. Mini bonus for me is that they are in the same spot my childhood chinese restaurant was at!“

“Have you ever had Fujian cuisine before? Now you can at Taste of Shaxian in San Mateo! All of the dishes were very simple, but surprised us with a lot of flavor! Whether you're a fan of dumplings or not, this place has good ones and a bunch of other must-try dishes all priced very reasonably. For 2 people, we ordered just enough to be comfortably full.
* Shaxian Wonton Soup
* Soup Dumplings Combo
* Spicy Cold Noodles (highly recommend!)
* Braised Chicken (bone in) Clay Pot w/ Rice (highly recommend!)“

“No extra fees or surcharges. Thank you Yan’s Garden for the honest, inclusive menu pricing and please stay fee-free.
We enjoyed the food. Lunch special is a decent deal with a filling portion size. We ordered the Tofu and Black Mushroom a la carte and it was huge, enough for two and a half meals. Salt and Pepper Eggplant appetizer size was also substantial, tasty but somewhat on the salty side.
Outdoor seating: There are a handful of four-top tables outside the storefront, shaded by an awning.“

“I spent a few weeks in Xinjiang a million years ago and ate laghman -- the Uyghur's national dish -- two or three times a day. Loved it loved it loved it. Hadn't had any in over 25 years, then recently moved to the area and saw that downtown Menlo Park had a Uyghur place. Woo hoo!
The noodles and sauce are perfect. (The meat is surprisingly low-quality so I ask for it without the meat and just get some flank steak slicked up for stir-fry at Whole Foods and cook that up at home to add.) The portion is generous and the dish keeps well in the fridge for a few days.“

“If you want delicious Chinese food from a place that’s been in business for decades, this is the place you go.
It’s not fancy and some of the employees aren’t super friendly but some are, and the prices are affordable and the food tasty.
You’ll be happy you came!“

“I’m Thai and my family was in the restaurant business so I know Thai food. Our group of over 10 people dined here today. Food was great. It was a team event so we requested a prix fixe menu and budget control. The restaurant was very responsive and go above and beyond to help us with the arrangements. The menu options was good. We had some vegans in the group and vegan options were good too. Everyone in my team loved it. Thank you for a wonderful evening!“

“First time here and it won't be my last. This restaurant had great service with delicious, wonderfully presented Asian dishes. Vast selection of menu items. Beautiful upstairs and downstairs dining room. Great for small or large parties. Bar seating with an extensive collection of wines and some beer.
A little pricey, but that goes without saying if you're located in Menlo Park /Palo Alto Bay Area.
Honestly, the food and service is worth the price though.“

“Decent selection of meat, seafood and veggies. I prefer the traditional 'communal' hotpot where you are offered better quality meat. This place is good for a quick fix for me just to get a taste of hotpot. There is only a few condiments unlike the typical place where you have over a dozen to fix your own dipping sauce.
$15.99/lb can get pricing if you are a big eater.“

“I had to go to the Richmond District today and I knew farmers market was happening. I told myself to just get a snack because I need to fit into a dress for the two holiday parties I'm going to on Thursday. Within 10ft of entering farmers market, I saw Kunugi Noodles's booth that had a picture of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. So naturally I didn't listen to myself and ordered one lol!The owner was working by himself so it was a wait. But the okonomiyaki was worth it, especially because Hiroshima-style is hard to find in the city.It wasn't exactly Hiroshima-style because the crepe batter was mixed with the cabbage and the egg was pre-made (a fried egg instead of it being shaped like a crepe). But working in an outdoor kitchen has limitations and cooking it that way was the way to do it in this situation. It was delicious nonetheless! The cabbage/crepe pancake is where the seafood was. There were pieces of shrimp and squid that gave it a chewiness against the softness of the crepe batter. The cabbage added a smokiness. The yakisoba noodles were yummy and maintained a slightly firm texture from being fried. I also liked the amount of Bonita flakes added. It was just right to add more seafood flavor. The owner was really nice! Even though he was clearly busy working on his own, we conversed a little on our travels to Japan.I know this page says his location is at a farmers market elsewhere and I don't know how often he's at Clement Street's farmers market. But wherever you go, if you see his booth, check it out!“

“Really family friendly place with high quality Korean noodles. Reminds me of Korea and oddly Southern California, where Korean food presence is strong. SO glad to be seeing more high quality foods in the Bay area, and in the Peninsula where there is an absolute paucity of selection. Service was only ok, but it was clear that they were understaffed during their opening months. Will be back!“

“Delicious and comforting noodle soup. If you don't know what to order, get the original soup. If you come during lunch, the lunch special is a good deal. It's exactly the same, but cheaper and it comes with a side. Some places will have smaller portions for their lunch deals, but this place does not. We ordered a soup separately to test and it turned out I could have saved three bucks and got a free side.“

“Wanted to try something new and checked out this restaurant for northern Chinese cuisine. We got the scallion pancake with beef, jianbing with fried dough, and mayonnaise shrimp. The scallion pancake with beef was really good with the sauce and the cucumbers, the mayo shrimp had too much flour but the pieces of shrimp were very large, the jianbing was good but the fried dough was so large that it filled us up fast. The staff was super nice, the portions were very big but the flavors could be better.“

“Solid place to get Chinese food that’s a little cheaper than Taste down the street. They’re also a good place to get dim sum in Palo Alto (although in my opinion the dim sum prices are still pricey, but that’s Palo Alto for you).
This time we got the cumin lamb and sautéed broccoli with some white rice. The cumin lamb was very good. It was a bit salty, but this dish usually is.
The service was a little slow this time. The cumin lamb was served before the rice so we had to wait a little to get our rice to eat with the dish. But I’ve gone before and haven’t had that problem with the service before so it could just be that time.
The inside’s really new and clean. It feels modern and warm. Also the bathroom’s surprisingly large and nice. It definitely feels like an expensive restaurant bathroom.
Parking: There are many parking garages in Palo Alto so it’s not too hard for us to find parking

“First time visit. This place used to be China village restaurant. It serves dimsum and hongkong style dishes. It has live seafood. I heard the chef is from Pallette tea and garden. When we arrived it was not busy but later in the night the restaurant is almost full. Overall, the food is yummy. The beef is a bit salty. Service wise, they might need to do better as if you go to another sizable hongkong seafood restaurant , someone will greet you and serve right a way. We will try the dimsum next time.“

“I ordered spicy teriyaki chicken bowl to go, and got regular one instead. I was very hungry so the food was good to me, but there was not much sauce on the chicken. The staff was polite! The wait for the food was quick, but they got my order wrong, which was saddening.
I didn't check it while I was there and got home before opening it, but what I ended up with was good. If I would have checked my order before leaving I'm sure it would have been resolved appropriately because the staff seemed very nice.
Just make sure you check what you ask for!“
