“This place is fantastic. The food was incredible and was exactly what you want when you think to yourself “I want some dumplings”. We had the chicken and pork xiao long bao, Brussel sprouts, green onion pancakes, ginger and scallion noodles, bbq pork steamed dumplings, and siu mai. Of course had to finish it off with sesame balls which were amazing. Everything was superb and came out piping hot. Service was unbelievably fast. Our server forgot our tea and the dipping vinegar but when I mentioned it, it was quickly remedied. I highly recommend stopping in!!“

“This place is such a hidden gem. The food was amazing, comparable / better than other “dumpling X” restaurants in the city. Highly recommend!
We got:
- XLB: dough was really great and very soupy
- chili wontons: so good, loved the sauce
- steamed shrimp / chive / pork dumplings: really good, very soupy
- green beans: a classic
- chocolate and banana XLB: loved this, imo on par with Ding Tai Fung
- big plate chicken: this was the weakest dish but this is a very difficult dish to make
Service was great also, and very affordable prices“

“I popped in for a quick lunch on a Monday, there was only one other table seated so no wait. I thought about going for one of the lunch specials, but dumplings aren't on there (think traditional US Chinese dishes like General Tso's). I ordered the Shanghai Dumplings and the Wontons in Peanut Chili oil, for a whole $14. The shanghai dumplings were nothing special, but a great price point. The wontons were great, the sauce had good texture.
For a drink, he just set down hot tea in a disposable coffee cup which I found odd considering I was dining in.
All in all, super fast, super cheap, and solid food.“

“This place has the best crispy bbq pork buns. It's not really a dim sum but that and the mochi buns were the best things they have in my opinion. They usually sell out by 10am or even earlier but you can call it in and it takes them 20-30 minutes to make it.“

“Best dim sum in SF. Shark fin dumpling and deep fried pork puff are the best items. Low prices. No seating. To go only. Closes early, at 4 pm.“

“It’s so delicious I came to Sanfan for a conference trip and lived in this community. What I look forward to most every morning is to go to his house for breakfast. It has a more authentic morning tea and has everything. It’s so happy for the treasures from the Midwest.“

“Y’all this place surprised me by how tasty it is and how close to my house it is!! Get here early!! The har gow had a deliciously tender and flavorful filling with a SUPER THIN WRAPPER 10/10 the thinly wrapped ones are hard to find and my favorite. I also tried some meat dumplings with a little bit of corn wrapped in wonton skin, very flavorful and juicy as well. Sesame balls were very crisp on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside, very tasty as well. It’s easier to order here if you know mandarin or Cantonese, but the folks here know enough English that it’s ok if you don’t.“

“We went there for Thanksgiving for the first time. As a vegetarian, I can say I had many options, and what I chose was outstanding. My wife and daughter enjoyed their fish and meat dishes and I can honestly say there wasn’t one dish that wasn’t outstanding. I heartily recommend this place and I’m considering going back for Christmas if they’re open.“

“Support small businesses!
Where you can find quality handcrafted food. I loved everything I’d ordered. From dim sum, milk tea, white sauce, marinated pork ribs and chicken feet, baked egg custard, to specialty traditional Hong Konger soup of the day!
I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have experience this taste again, I left HK back in 2006. This place tasted like home, my childhood, I wonder if they are from Kwun Tong too!
Thank you Hongry Kong for delivering amazing memories to me. I had already placed my second order. Spread the word out, hope you continues with success!“
“Beautiful dinning room, food was only so so. It was expensive, but that’s everywhere nowadays.“

“Great quality food. Reasonable prices. It's a bit tight in there but that's because it's normally busy.
Parking: Paid parking in front. Free street parking if willing to walk. Overall great place to stop for a bite to eat or a meal to take home.“

“This is very good dimsum. But the reason why it's so good is the affordability. It's quality food for good prices. The customer service was very friendly. We visited 2 times in the same day, that's how tasty and affordable it was. And the BBQ bun was heavenly good.“

“The food was authentic, very affordable prices compared to other dim sum spots in San Mateo. I arrived at 12pm and there were plenty of seats, but the place quickly filled up afterward. There are two menus. I don't know why. I would grab both because some things I usually get are in the other menu.“

Overall: One of the better restaurants I'd consider going to in the castro. Definitely a solid choice.
The extended review...
- Got a bunch of different things. Of course the ones to get always are the soup dumplings and the pan fried Shanghai buns which are delicious.
- Friendly and attentive staff
- Nothing special about the ambiance but it's comfortable and spacious.“

“Another hole-in-the-wall, underrated but great tasting Northern China food restaurant in Bay area. Hidden away in an alley, minimal decor serving unpretentious noodle, soups, and Chinese pancakes and a lot more. If you're in the neighborhood, you need to give this place a try.?? *They serve most foods in takeout containers. Bypass this and focus on the food. I had to learn this ?“

“Had a lovely dinner here with my family—food and service were both great! Very solid dishes all around, but what really got me were the sweet and sour pork (which had a really good meat to batter ratio), taro sago (the best I’ve had in soo long!! Generous portions of taro in each bowl) and to my surprise the Chinese donuts (which I usually don’t like, but they were so soft, light and tasty).
I’m already looking forward to the next time my family gathers here for dinner :)“

“It’s called Happy Bakery but it’s mostly Dim Sum and food to go. I don’t eat much veggies but they have the best string bean chicken with tofu. This is a must-try! Dim Sum on the other side is also good with their Siopao & Sesame Balls. An order of combination over rice was only $6 but I guess inflation got in the way. Still worth coming for those string bean! 😋😋“

“My family has been supporters of this place since before the pandemic, and their food is a staple in our household. They have great steamed buns (personally, I like the dai bao/big bun the most). While their prices have gone up, it's still very reasonable and the food is delicious!“

“We loved just about everything we ordered here but I can only specifically remember (other than the pork ribs) that the buns were pork and the shumai were shrimp because otherwise we really just pointed at the items we wanted and ate without worry. We sat outside and food came out almost immediately. Definitely will be back.“
“From 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. there is a 3 entree deal for $31. It could feed a family quite well or have enough for a few meals. I have gotten this three times so far, trying different things each time. They also give me a container of their soup of the day (think broth with some meat and greens,) and a container with rice.So filling! Also the order comes out pretty quickly. I have not called in yet but it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes for them to fix up your order. There is indoor seating but I haven't seen too many people sit inside, I imagine they have more takeout than anything.Did you not serve alcohol like most Chinese eateries. I only included this because I overheard a patron asking if there was beer.If you are in the area stop by and try it out! It isn't bougie. I would say it's not too healthy but oh so delicious. If you are taking public transportation the 8/8bx and 9/9r run along Sunnydale and Visitacion and both stop at Arleta, just a few blocks away.
Parking: Street parking, some metered unless off Leeland. Some spaces around on Sunday late afternoon“

“You know what makes a great city like San Francisco work? It's the thousands upon thousands of ordinary folks who work diligently everyday to make a living and provide food and services for everyone else.
And those are found in the neighborhoods, the small pockets of business zones among residential homes scattered all over the city. This small hole-in-the-wall joint is a testament to the organic nature of small businesses that makes a great city.
Sweet Delight is a consistent food place that serves up hot meals, from pre-made Chinese food, dim sums and pastries day in and day out with much reliability and with sincerity.
The staff is cordial enough and do their best to be hospitable, the prices are reasonable that you get your money's worth and the food turns over often enough that it is consistently fresh.
Support your neighborhood places to keep the community healthy and vibrant.“

“The food here is delicious. I like to eat this dandan noodles the most, the noodles have a little bit of QQ. The xiaolongbao here are delicious.
It's also very beautiful here, with many cat paintings.

“This place’s lunch specials are a really good deal, and they don’t do any weird surcharges so the bill honestly was shocking…ly small. Portions are huge. Pretty empty at noon on a Sunday, seems like a lot of people order takeout from here. Sesame ball dessert that came with the special was super tasty too.
* Asparagus and black bean salmon (the salmon is thin crispy slices, not like a western style filet)
* chow mein
* green beans with pork“

“Big Lantern became the spot for a Thanksgiving lunch this year because of their plentiful veggie based dim sum options and Cantonese dishes. Nearly everything on the menu can be veganized especially with using their faux meat. There is already a lot of plant-based options available to choose from. We went with their Vegetarian Dim Sum ($13), Mock Chicken Congee ($10), Rice "Tamales" as they called them ($6 for two), and an order of their Kung Pao Faux Chicken. The congee, cha siu bao from the dim sum platter, and their 'tamales' were all fantastic. It reminded me of what I used to eat back in the day. Their kung pao could've been a bit spicier but I appreciated being able to enjoy it with their plant-based chicken, which seems to be made from seitan. Some of the vegan faux meat items though weren't as exciting. The Chicken Siu Mai was the biggest letdown and I wouldn't get that again, but everything else where they used the faux chicken was great. Aside from the food, service here was incredible. Everyone was super sweet and checked up on us often. Fun fact - they were once ranked the best restaurant in all of the U.S. by a publication and you can find their accolade proudly displayed inside.“

“Check the menu on the website before you go to see what to expect. We walked in expecting Japanese and looked at the menu and it reminded me of restaurants I've been to in Hong Kong where you can get all kinds of different things that are different from traditional Chinese food, which is fine.I like Chinese food as well however it's weird that the sign on the restaurant still says Japanese. I didn't see Japanese food on the menu. Maybe they have two menus?I rated this as four stars so as to not change the existing rating.“

“This spot is one of the go to spots on San Bruno ave. The prices are good and they give you some hefty plates. Beyond the price the food is just good. I usually go for the dim sum but on occasion will do a combo plate. If you’re in n the area looking for a cheap good meal pull up!
Parking: San Bruno Ave is a busy street but it’s not impossible to find something.
Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible and welcomed“

“A small Chinese restaurant that specializes in dumplings, it's my roommate's favorite place in San Francisco. I'm a pretty big fan of their wonton noodle soup, I recommend one big spoonful of Sriracha into it and remove all of the bok choy. I've also had the spicy wontons and the spicy dumplings, both of those are really fantastic and have a Szechuan kick to them. The store itself is a little rundown, but it's nice to be right next to the kitchen and you can see what they're up to. It's in a strange part of town to get to, especially from the University campus, but it's worth it. You can also get take out from here, and it goes really well even after delivered. The dumplings can get a bit soggy though, and we once ordered some stuff and they got the orders wrong, unsure if that was the restaurant or the delivery app.
Vegetarian options: You can find things that are vegetarian on the menu, but it's not strictly labeled.
Dietary restrictions: I would definitely be wary if you have a peanut allergy
Parking: There's some street parking, but since it's also near a bus stop and some other pretty popular shops, it's almost impossible to find parking at popular times during the day. And it's all paid
Kid-friendliness: Somewhat kid friendly restaurant, I don't think there's anything specific about it that appeals to children though. It's good food though
Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant is not accessible, though you could try really hard to get in there and to a table. But there is a step to get into the restaurant and pretty narrow doors that have very fast closers. And I'm not sure about the table heights being suitable for wheelchairs“

“We’ve been heading over to The Night Market for the past few years! The classics are all good, Hainan Chicken, Beef Chow Fun, minced Beef over rice. But if you want to try something unique to The Night Market try the Longan Crispy Pork over rice. I can’t imagine a dish that so uniquely represents the Asian American experience. Finish it off with a mango Sago!“

“A few years ago, I felt like I was in a fairyland because of Salzburg’s classic delicate desserts. I went there again and stayed longer to eat desserts twice a week. Recently, I saw the introduction of your company Soufflé by Little Red Book last month with Mr. I tasted it with the feeling of treasure hunting. It was quite pleasant. Although it added a little more noodles, it lost a little lightness.
Still have a relaxed sense of happiness
Yesterday I couldn't help but taste the soufflé again. I felt that the egg whites had more flour, which made them less fluffy. I also lost the motivation to feel them and the desire to taste them again.
Alas, after all, wonderland is not so easy to construct. There are fewer classic dessert shops like this in Salzburg now.“

“I like this place. The food was tasty and the shrimp dumpling had lots of shrimp. The view is beautiful. One caveat is that it is huge and run at scale. So even at the end of lunch, it'll take some time to get your bill and pay, if you are in a hurry. Just a heads up.
In terms of dim sum pricing, medium is $6.88, large is $7.88 and extra large is $8.38 as of August 31st 2024.“

“BEST coconut chicken hotpot I’ve ever had in the bay!!!!!
The soup was made with fresh coconut - they cracked the coconut and added the coconut water into our soup. We could also eat the coconut meat inside - it was so fresh.
And then they added chicken - the soup was just HEAVENLY. As a person who is from the region where coconut chicken was originated, I 100% approve its authenticity!!
And the price was soooo good too - $35 per person!“
