“Yesterday while working across the street I decided to try this place. Is pretty small with about 8 tables enough for 20 people or more and nough to enjoy breakfast or lunch. Now many people have food to go. Wide variety of options to choose from. I had teriyaki chicken with shrimp . The lady who was there is very friendly and my order came out very fast the price is super reasonable for the size of the meal and most importantly it was really tasty. Definitely have to go again if I'm nearby.“

“This has got to be the best teriyaki I have had. My wife and I were exploring LA and staying in LA for our sixth wedding anniversary we stopped here for lunch and we loved it, I got the chicken and beef large bowel and my wife got the veggie bowl and it was delicious. The staff are great and it’s a nice little restaurant. Highly recommend it. We were satisfied and full of good food.“

“We went to try out the new menu and what a great idea, We had the happy hour sushi and beers and everything was so delicious and the presentation was gorgeous!
We will make this our new spot for sushi, and can’t wait to try the Ramen and all the other choices on the menu. PS outdoor seating is wonderful during the summer months, plenty of umbrellas to go around. Fabulous service to boot“

“This is kind of like a restaurant cafe with a Japanese-Korean コンビニconvenience store together. Think 日本7-11, 7i, Gs25. They have instant ramen bowls and cute Shiba Inu and Kitty bags and totes. Freshly made onigiri… ? with good quality rice. ?“

“The curry is very good and not too heavy or salt. It goes very well with the poached egg and beef nikutama was very flavorful with the onions. The tempura was very soft and flaky. I've been here a couple times and loved getting the dashi broth and miso udon along with other tempura items available like the shrimp or zucchini.
There's a fair amount of seating along with outdoor seating. Plenty of parking available in the plaza with other restaurants there. The staff was nice and attentive to the items you wanted.“

“My boyfriend and I took our sushi to go. We ordered the crunchy spicy California, Torrance roll, and teriyaki chicken roll. They were AMAZING. We both absolutely loved them. The service was quick- they were quiet but very friendly and happy to see us it felt like. I definitely recommend. Good pricing also!“

“Dinner for 2 persons, shared appetizer and 2 combo plates, green tea, 100$.
Ueno could be a great restaurant because the food is of quality. The combo dinner plates were copious. Unfortunately, they were served with large portions of jasmine rice instead of quality Japanese rice like Koishikari.
But the worse part is the place itself. Country music? Puking. Kindergarten decor? Horrible. Lighting: bad. TV with sports? Why?
Greeting was non existant. One chef looked at us from the kitchen but simply ignored us after just a glimpse. Is this a private club? A waiter entered the dining area but did not notice us, we had to make some sound and gesture.
The place was around 30% occupied, quite underwhelming
This place has all the potential of attracting a nice clientele because the food quality is there. Make it seriously Japanese !
Cover the windows (who wants to see traffic?), remove the preschool decor, dim the lights, remove the TV, add a sushi counter, and mainly, train the personnel. Being ignored at the door when only 4 tables are occupied is strange.
No reservation needed, place is empty! By 20:00 parking was full, with quite non existing street parking. Not good.“

“Sei-Ko-En is a Japanese yakiniku restaurant in Torrance, Los Angeles. The restaurant is simply decorated with promotional menus and posters. Ventilation is not the strongest, so expect to be smelly after the meal. Servers are friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Food is reasonably priced and of good quality. The crunchy Bean Sprouts (USD 8) and Minced Raw Beef (USD 12.50) are both refreshing. Highly recommend the silky-smooth Raw Beef Liver (USD 12.50), which will rock your palate! Don’t forget to order the Mega Mug Sapporo Premium Beer (USD 12) to go with the juicy Kobe Style American Wagyu Prime Rib (USD 22) and flavorful Kobe Style American Wagyu Tongue (USD 22)!“

“Located in the food court of Tokyo Central in Gardena, this Japanese Tonkatsu restaurant is an authentic hidden gem for Tonkatsu lovers?
Tried their pork Katsudon set (you have a choice between pork or chicken also) and the pork upon first bite was juicy and meat was very tender. Outside katsu was crunchy, the pork is lean and didnt have any fat too. Miso soup and cabbage salad was fresh and not instant, I would visit this place again. 5 stars??“

“Yamaya Japanese Wagyu & Grill is a Japanese yakiniku specialist in the Torrance area. Ventilation is not bad, but expect to get smelly. The dimly lit dining room is clean and tidy. Servers are friendly, professional and accommodating. Corkage is US$ 25/btl. Food is fresh and of great quality. While side dishes such as Moyashi Namui (US$4.8) and Green Salad ($5.8) are refreshing, the different cuts of wagyu are simply delicious! Highly recommend the crunchy Chef’s Cut Tongue (US$42.8), the juicy Premium Short Ribs (US$ 34.8) and Outside Skirt (US$ 29.8).“

“The Current offers a lot of convenience with its prime location in the middle of DTLB. The connected retailers, including Hi-Lo Liquor, Qargo coffee, Sushi Beluga, and BMore Pizza, make everyday errands and dining out incredibly convenient. The amenities are outstanding. I can enjoy a relaxing day at the beautiful 4th-floor terrace or take a dip in the pool on the 17th floor, both offering great spots to unwind and take in the views. Additionally, The Current hosts a variety of events, from the big Grand Prix party to smaller gatherings like yoga on the 17th floor, which adds a vibrant and engaging community feel to the place. The staff at The Current, particularly Raelle and Denisse, always make me feel welcomed and valued. Their friendliness and attentiveness greatly enhance the living experience, making it feel like home. Overall, The Current offers an exceptional living environment with its convenient location, excellent amenities, and welcoming staff. Highly recommended!“

“I had a chance to try their hamburg steak and it was beyond describable. The beef was extremely tender and well-seasoned. The demi-glaze tastes like a jacked up bull-dog sauce.
The menu is short and sweet. They don’t even have appetizers on the menu, entrees only. This place is definitely a hidden gem. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.“

“This is my ~5th time coming since I first went back in April. I live 40 minutes away on a good day. It is SO. GOOD. I think about Red Rock constantly, I even dreamt about it already. I always get the #2 special, the steak don with an egg and cheese. The most recent time I went, they took out the cheese and I was so sad. Bring back the cheese, please!!! Medium rare is the best! I also get the croquettes and those are to die for! The service is always impeccable, my water is always full! I love the cozy little atmosphere inside the teeny tint restaurant. It's worth waiting in line for. 5 stars every single time I've been. 6 stars if I could because this is one of my favorite restaurants!“

“I have been enjoying meals at Okane Umi since 2016. They have always been excellent in every category of service. The restaurant has had its share of ups and downs but I am happy with how strongly Okane Umi has powered up its menu and added some wonderfully flavorful genuine Japanese dishes. Im pleased they have reinforced their sushi, sashimi, chirashi offerings - I love this restaurant.“

“Had the katsu curry done as well as the tempura udon here. The katsu curry was super tender, juicy, and very well made. The tempura udon was just okay -- there were a lot of ingredients, but something lacking in the overall flavor. But this place is super affordable, the food is good to excellent, and the service extremely efficient.“

“Small Japanese Teriyaki place. Food was good at a decent price. I had the Chicken Teriyaki and was delicious. Chicken was nicely cook and good size not thin like some teriyaki places. Portions were good but I did ask to only have a chicken and rice, no soybeans or ginger.
Will come back and try other dishes for sure. Place looked clean and well kept. Owners were nice as well.“

“It feels like it’s gotten more expensive over time, but I’ve been coming here for 20 years. It’s one of my all-time favorite restaurants, and I’d be genuinely sad if it ever closed. The staff are always very friendly. While it may not feel particularly modern or spotless, it offers a comforting, homey atmosphere. The food is also consistently delicious.“

“The teriyaki burgers, fries (well done!), and chicken or steak bowl or plate are all delicious! The steak could be more tender for easier chewing but the flavor is out of this world good! They have a few kids menu choices as well including corn dogs!
I've been patronizing the Pit for many years (since the 80's) and it's still my once a week go to place. It's family-owned so you know the aim to please and serve is always on a very personable level. It currently services as a "walk-up, order and go" at the window (far right), but you can also call in your order and pick it up. I haven't noticed any delivery services accommodating this business as of yet, so I doubt it is going to happen anytime soon. I can't say that I blame the owner of the Pit for not wanting to give up
30+% of each delivery order just to get the same amount of business! This joint is a staple in this community and won't be going anywhere else anytime soon.“

“Located in the Tokyo Central food court in Gardena, had a quick bite to eat after grocery shopping and my friend ordered the takoyaki from this place.

“The taste was excellent, and they gave big portions for the price. We got hibachi off the lunch menu and ended up with leftovers. They also threw in some free egg rolls, which were also really good. It seems like they mix all their own sauces, too.The only problem was a language barrier with the cashier, so they must not be used to taking orders verbally. Oh, and the salad is literally just roughly chopped iceberg lettuce with dressing on the side. There is no space to sit down and eat, so this place is take-out only basically.“

“They offer a wide variety of dishes, ranging from traditional Chinese cuisine to creative Western cuisine, and there are many surprising combinations. “This place is the first time I actually got udon from a restaurant instead of instant udon from a package. I get the spicy udon along with some yakitori to make my meal feel complete. The udon's broth can be a hit or miss as it sometimes is served lukewarm. But when it is served hot, the meal is enjoyable. The udon itself is thick and chewy and provides a nice taste. The broth is spicy and has a slight umami taste, but to be honest, I think the spice is what gives it any flavor. The yakitori can either be hot or cold depending on the time you eat, but regardless it is decent and a refreshing appetizer. The place is in Mitsuwa which is shared with many other different choices of food so sometimes it can be hard to find a table if it is during lunch rush.“
