“This bakery is such a dangerous place if you love pastries because everything looks amazing the moment you walk in. There’s a huge variety of baked goods to choose from, and it honestly feels hard to leave with just one thing.

Everything I tried tasted fresh and homemade, with that perfect balance where the pastries feel rich and satisfying without being overly heavy. You can tell they put real care into both the flavor and presentation.

“Bricks and Scones is just wonderful for breakfast or lunch. They don't only have scones, but they do have a great selection of them. They are all made fresh and are never stale. They are some of the best. I love the thickness of them. Add a little butter or not, and you will be in scone heaven.

They also have a super menu. We love their breakfast burrito and their eggs benedict. Their avocado toast is perfect and you will love their bagel sandwiches. They are made on great bagels.

They also have wonderful sandwiches. We love their turkey sandwiches and their turkey mozzarella pesto sandwich is packed with flavor.

They also have good salads, like their mango curry chicken salad and their regular house salad. It is all super fresh and crispy. Their prices are a tad high, but worth it for the best ingredients.

They have great coffee and any of their sweet items are really good. The place is very comfortable and cute. It is within walking distance to a few nice places and it is just a nice place to walk.

The service is very nice. It can get crowded and I don't think they take reservations, but the wait is worth it. The service is fast and very friendly. You can sit inside or our or get it to go. I bet they also deliver, but I have never done that.“

Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. I have a college who is addicted to pastry/desserts and she has been told she has to go dairy free. The agony!!!

Found this place and was able to grab quite a bit of vegan items for her to try.

So my caveat is all this is amazing for vegan-
Chocolate chip cookies 9/10 would almost not know it was vegan, it was also fresh outta the oven.
Snickerdoodle- 3/10 not my vibe, too crispy
Blueberry Scone- 10/10 she lived it
Janessa cupcake- 7/10 overall a solid strawberry choice
Cookies n Cream Cupcake- 10/10 great cake and frosting
Chocolate Lovers Slice- 15/10 our favorite
Herb Cake- odd but not bad 7/10

“I bought a 3/4 photo cake sheet cake for a baby shower. It came out very cute and perfect. The staff was extremely sweet and a girl with black hair and tattooed (I didn’t catch her name) even helped take it to the car! She was very sweet. The cake itself was very delicious. We got 1/2 vanilla & 1/2 chocolate with buttercream filling. Adding in the extra costs of a custom photo picture, custom color of the frosting, the size and etc it came out to be $170. I’m extremely pleased with the cake and staff in this location. It was well worth the money!“

“I saw their signs and decided to stop in. As someone allergic to gluten and living the low carb lifestyle I was excited to see what they had, but a little skeptical because deserts from most places are dry.

I decided to try the mini turtle Bundt cake and it was hands down the best dessert I’ve had in over a decade!! I was in absolute heaven and then to find out it was only 220 calories! The perfect snack!

“Baristas are always nice and they always bring you your drinks, as well. I always enjoy coming here to relax after a long day, and my favorite drink is the Iced Matcha Lavender with regular milk. The matcha place always feels not too busy but just the right amount of quietness to go after a long day at work. Highly recommend this place and is my go-to matcha shop! Drinks are always great here and the ice cream is also great, as well!“

“While waiting for a show a couple blocks down at the belasco, we came here for a couple pre-showed drinks. The bartenders were excellent, the security outside was very friendly and helpful. Seating was no problem, though we arrived at 5:30 p.m. It did get much busier over the next one and a half hours.

What note that the bar can be ordered from both ends so often when there are six or seven people waiting on one end, a little hack to go to the other side will often get you quicker service. It is no fault of the bartenders, it's just that it takes a little time to order. Nice atmosphere, clean bathrooms. Will be back!“

“My boyfriend and I were walking around the plaza when he had a craving for Vietnamese coffee. I looked up if there was a location that served it nearby, and I was led to Vui Ve! We headed over and I immediately loved the vibe and decor. We placed our order, and we were delighted by what we got! He enjoyed his coffee, and I enjoyed the salted plum lemonade :3 We ended up going back again recently; he got the same coffee, and I tried the banana coffee. I thought it was quite yummy! Both times we went the servers were both kind. Though we only have experience with their drinks for now, we plan to try their food as well!“

“Kimberley made my daughters wedding cake and then drove it up to Ojai! The cake was beautiful and tasted amazing and she was a dream to work with! She is crazy talented, has a great team, a great story. Love her.“

“Had a cortado at Alchemist Coffee Project and it was excellent. The texture was probably my favorite part of the drink. Smooth, silky, and really well integrated. The flavor was solid as well, with good balance and enough clarity to pick up what the coffee was trying to express. Temperature was right where it should be, which made it enjoyable from the first sip.

The only technical feedback I’d give is that the latte art could have been a little cleaner, and the body started to separate slightly toward the end of the drink instead of holding together all the way through. Both are pretty minor things and didn’t take away from the overall experience.

Overall, this was a really well-executed cortado and one I’d happily order again. Great texture, good flavor, proper temperature, and an enjoyable coffee experience from start to finish.“
