“Fantastic neighborhood lunch spot. Everything is quick, fresh and tasty! You can really tell how much love and creativity Chef Uyen puts into the menu. There are always new weekend specials and a large vegan& vegetarian selection. Several different types of banh mi sandwiches, al in delicious warm bread. The summer rolls are so refreshing in the heat and a large portion size. Their drinks are delicious too! I always grab a limeade or pennywort juice to complete the meal. I also really admire and appreciate their commitment to feeding and caring for the community through their meal program. All in all, a fantastic, delicious and ethical local spot to support ❤“

“Been going there for years, the best bakery in SoCal. Every time I bring a cake or cookies to a gathering, everyone always asks where I got them from!“

“Bricks and Scones is just wonderful for breakfast or lunch. They don't only have scones, but they do have a great selection of them. They are all made fresh and are never stale. They are some of the best. I love the thickness of them. Add a little butter or not, and you will be in scone heaven.

They also have a super menu. We love their breakfast burrito and their eggs benedict. Their avocado toast is perfect and you will love their bagel sandwiches. They are made on great bagels.

They also have wonderful sandwiches. We love their turkey sandwiches and their turkey mozzarella pesto sandwich is packed with flavor.

They also have good salads, like their mango curry chicken salad and their regular house salad. It is all super fresh and crispy. Their prices are a tad high, but worth it for the best ingredients.

They have great coffee and any of their sweet items are really good. The place is very comfortable and cute. It is within walking distance to a few nice places and it is just a nice place to walk.

The service is very nice. It can get crowded and I don't think they take reservations, but the wait is worth it. The service is fast and very friendly. You can sit inside or our or get it to go. I bet they also deliver, but I have never done that.“

I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. “I recently went back to Alchemist Coffee Project after having an excellent cortado on my first visit, and the second visit only reinforced my initial impression.

The first cortado really stood out for its texture—smooth, silky, and well integrated, with good flavor clarity and a temperature that was right where it should be. My only minor technical feedback was that the latte art could have been a little cleaner and the body started to separate slightly toward the very end.

On my return visit, I had another excellent cortado. The texture was once again smooth and cohesive, with great milk integration and a body that held together nicely throughout the drink. It was well balanced and another really strong execution.

Getting two excellent cortados across separate visits is what impressed me most. Consistency matters a lot with a drink like this, and Alchemist Coffee Project has delivered both times. Definitely a place I’ll continue coming back to for a cortado.“
