“This is place is fantastic! It is such a unique experience, the food is delicious, fresh and so satisfying. We ate our food so quick that i didn't get a chance to take pictures of everything else we ordered. My husband and I have been coming here since late 2000's and so happy to support his business for many more years ❤️“

“Fashionable place for not just ramen, but gyoza and self-made hand rolls.
Dimly-lit, medium-spaced tables, service is good but a bit overwhelmed when they're at capacity (which is often!). Parking is limited on the street but doable.
Have to say the NYC location is better, but honestly would need to do another visit to confirm. Distinctly remember the self-made hand rolls in particular being quite good in New York and not nearly as memorable here.“

“I pop in here probably once a week sometimes twice for a glass of wine. The bartenders are very cheerful and informed with respect to varieties and flavors and all the jazz. They walk you through the options and make tip top recommendations. The place is always slammed at night, yet the manager is extremely accommodating and always finds a place for me to chill and savor the weekend ambiance. I’ve never had their food, but it looks delicious. All the servers are friendly and have excellent people skills. The outdoor space is a fun hang too if you have a group. I always feel spoiled here. 5 star experiences.“

“What an experience! I didn't even do the chef experience and got such a wonderful dinner! I was so jealous of the people experiencing it so I'm definitely doing that next time
I celebrated my first anniversary here and it was such a joy. Some people get worried they will leave a Michelin star restaurant hungry. But i was stuffed!!!
Everyone at the restaurant was amazing, kind and really took care of you! I kind of just want to come back just to experience that as well!
Since their menu constantly change, I think it's just best to say: trust the chef. You won't regret it! Or let the pictures do the talking!
I'm 100% coming back with my family to treat them to this!“

“A great meal to celebrate our 8th grader’s MS graduation and my FIL’s 75th birthday! Thankful, too, for the Katz family’s support of our school’s fundraiser back in April - we were able to use a gift card we had won at that event.
Definitely a “seen and be seen” kind of vibe, but we did not feel out of place at all and the service was warm and welcoming and super accommodating of both our youngest son’s allergies and our large party. Thank you so much, especially Katrina who was patient and attentive throughout our meal.
Rolls were delicious, the whole crispy fish was a showstopper, and the drinks were perfect. All in all, a superb evening!“

“Absolutely love this place! My boyfriend and I live in the area and we love being able to walk to places in our neighborhood. This is definitely a new favorite spot! I rarely write reviews but I had to share my great experience to support this business. The food is fresh and delicious and the staff is very kind.
We ordered the Rainbow and the Spicy Yellowtail rolls for pick up orders through their online website, had a lovely sunset walk during Golden Hour to and from there, and the service was timely and efficient. When we got back home the food was packaged and presented beautifully and it kept well. We thoroughly enjoyed this whole experience and will be happy to order again soon! We look forward to dining in person there as well. Definitely find out for yourself and enjoy this awesome little gem!
Thank you to the entire staff for bringing this spot into the NoHo Arts District!“

“This is hands down my new favorite sushi place. I will never be going back to Katsuya. Joe is quite an extraordinary chef. I used to frequent a sushi restaurant he used to work at, but it wasn't the same after he left. I'm so grateful that I was able to find him here after a good hunt. Highly recommend!!!
Vegetarian options: You can ask for whatever you want that doesn't contain any meat. Like cucumber rolls, avocado rolls, egg rolls, or just miso and an order of sticky rice.“

“I've been following Jun, the owner, for over twenty years now, and I’m so happy to see them settle into their new spot at White Oak and Sherman Way. It's super convenient, especially with the Korean market right next door.
There are so many sushi places in Los Angeles, but what sets Bar Uerukamu apart is their amazing appetizers and creative drinks. It’s a great spot even for friends who don’t drink straight shochu or aren't big on sushi. Their appetizers are truly unique—not your typical fried gyoza or teriyaki chicken. You can tell there's originality and thought put into the menu. Also all the stuffs are very friendly, sweet and attentive!!“

“Very romantic ambiance and delicious food... loved all of our appetizers and our sushi was really nice. The salmon was like butter. The black sesame crème brulé is a must. The table next to us had a larger group and ordered a long dragon dish loaded with sushi .... Looked like fun Kelly was so welcoming and sweet!“

“Came here for a last minute bite and was pleasantly surprised. Ashley our server is the sweetest and she took such good care of us despite being an hour before closing. She was fantastic with recommending dishes and checking in on us and every item was brought out in a timely manner. I really enjoyed everything here it feels elevated, it’s great for date night, light bites or a full meal. They have a great happy hour menu that I look forward to trying next time. My only critique is that some of the dishes skew sweeter than my preference but that’s just me. The granita dessert is an absolute must have and so is the uni temaki! I’ve eaten a lot of uni and theirs was particularly sweet and fresh. Will definitely come back again soon!“

“Kindness and care in every. single. bite. That is what it is like to eat here, and it just isn't to be missed. Come when you have a hunger not just for great food, but for a feeling of connection to people—for the feeling that people have been wanting to reach you, and that they care that you're there to enjoy what they've been working so hard to offer. Your joy, your satisfaction, your delight—it really matters to them, and if you come open to having those experiences, they will fill you to overflowing. Happy hour, full dinner...whatever you can make time for, get there. The chefs, the servers (Matt and Uché are stellar examples), everyone—they're all in, and extraordinary at what they do. Seize every chance you can to experience and appreciate it.“

“Stopped by for anniversary and DineLA!
I never knew this place existed, but it seems like they've been around for about two years. The restaurant was a lot bigger than it looked and had a lot of spaces. They even had a full bar inside with a nice list of Japanese Whiskeys (Sorry, no Yamazakis!) and other spirits.
The food was good and was presented in a 5 course meal (most likely for DineLA) Although my date got the sushi, I opted for the sukiyaki as they presented themselves as a kaiseki restaurant. They also had other options, but I think their sukiyaki was better than the sushi.
The service was great when we first got in, but the place got packed in a few minutes and it seemed like there wasn't enough servers. However, the overall experience was great and I'd probably visit again for a different menu.“

“Been on my list forever and did not disappoint! The decor and environment were very charming. Quick service and all of our food was delicious. Love a miso soup (nailed it), the chicken/tofu meatballs were slightly sweet and filling, the crispy tuna rice starters were huge and had the perfect crunch. All the fish we tried was perfection, melted in your mouth good. Will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend for a lunch or dinner.“

“This is an effortlessly chic sushi restaurant.
Healthy mix of couples, friends and solo eaters.
It’s easy to sink into the dark wooded, close quarters venue with soft jazz as background noise behind the bustling of the staff.
Infatuation will tell you to order the crispy rice with spicy tuna and sushi moriawise, which a lot of folks were getting.
If you have the $200/person (after tax and tip), it’s a special omakase. The ocean trout with kelp is non-pareil, sweet and umami flavors. Worth a visit.“

“The quality of the fish was unlike anything I have experienced in the last 20 years. Having frequented many restaurants from Tokyo to Paris to London to NYC and, of course, the Bay Area serving sushi and sashimi, the quality and grade of the fish and, more importantly, the skill and expertise of the chefs was indescribably high. The hamachi and toro melted on the tongue and there was not a hint of ice nor prior freezing. At one point the owner came over to check on us, which I thought was very classy and diligent despite my family being the only ones in the restaurant at the opening hour. The staff were uber professional and attentive. At the risk of making this one of the best Japanese restaurants to visit and making it impossible to secure a future reservation, I cannot recommend Asuka strongly enough! 10 stars on a 5 star scale!“

“Had an awesome birthday lunch at Oku-Niku today!
My husband took me out for some Japanese bbq & had a great time. They have an AYCE option for $55 and a premium AYCE with higher cuts of meat for $75. We decided to not do ayce bc we didn’t want to over eat due to our dinner plans later in the evening. So we ordered their 2 meat lunch option—picked the prime short rib and beef belly. It came with rice, smashed cucumber salad and miso soup for $25. Great option for those who want to have a light meal. We also added on pork jowl ($12) and their A5 Waygu ($45). We cooked them at the table just like kbbq. All the meats were melt-in-your-mouth good. I loved the sauces they provided and the lemon pepper seasoning as well. The service here was fantastic. I wish we got the name of our waitress who was so kind and very attentive! She gave me a slice of their tasty yuzu cheesecake on the house, which was so sweet and thoughtful. I recommend this place if you are looking for a tasty meal and amazing service.“

“I recently visited the PokiTomik in my neighborhood, and I couldn’t be more impressed! The experience was delightful from start to finish. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and were incredibly helpful in guiding me through their menu options.
I decided to try the poki tacos, and they were absolutely amazing! The combination of fresh ingredients and flavorful sauces made each bite a delicious experience. The tacos were perfectly crafted, showcasing the vibrant and fresh flavors that this restaurant is known for.
The atmosphere was welcoming and clean, making it an ideal spot for a quick lunch or relaxed dinner. It's wonderful to have such a high-quality, healthy dining option so close to home. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!“

“Easily one of the very best sushi places I have been to here or in Japan. We went for a birthday dinner and chose the Omakase (option 2). It was an incredibly well balanced meal including many of our favorites. The quality is just perfect. Temperature, freshness, taste, everything from the fish to the rice, toppings and soy sauce.
The service is super good, such a friendly staff. chefs and owner. Highly recommended, we will definitely be back.“

“Since my last review of this restaurant about 2 or 2 1/2 years ago, this is the 1st time I went back.
I should also say that we used to go to Katana literary every week at the very least, 1 time and i experienced a very unprofessional behavior from the hostesses which I wrote about and to the management's credit, they wrote back to me and askex me to go back with my guests as their guest, which i didn't do but I appreciated it. Thank you, management, for reaching out to me.
So this time, my experience was very different than my last time there. The 2 hostesses, although they didn't know who I was since reservation wasn't under my name,
*Arica & Rushil were super professional and very nice as well as the young lady bartender "Maya" who was super nice and extremely charming. Anyway, thank you to the management for looking into it and being very professions.
Now, to tell you about the food, honesty, if you want it all, great ambiance, great service and servers as well as the boss boys, and especially the food and it's presentation is fanatic.
So again, thank you for a wonderful evening.
Vegetarian options: I think that they have plenty of dishes that a vegetarian person can enjoy
Dietary restrictions: Yes, absolutely. The waiter literary asks whether you have any dietary restrictions
Parking: So parking is a bit challenging but your best bet if you couldn't find street meter parking, they have valet
Kid-friendliness: Pretty kid friendly
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible“

“Superb place. Unfortunately Jonny Won (?) left couple of years ago but the current Chef is more than capable of upholding this restaurant's glowing reputation for exceptionally fresh ingredients and superb cooking skills. My only advice is to stick to fish and leave the meat dishes as, although nice, are not quite "wow" as they used to be.“

“Just had a self Omakase date and I have to say, the detail that was poured into each dish, flavor wise, was really special. Even just the sashimi pieces themselves really had great complimentary garnish flavors that weren’t even noticeable just looking at the fish.
