“It's always crowded so I much prefer to order through the app and pick up, they are pretty fast with that and even make it before the time it says it will be ready. This location is pretty solid. I've only ever had one bad experience and that was a while ago. I keep coming back because they are good, fast and close. Just don't like dining in there because It's to many people but other than that great place“

“Everything about this dining experience was perfect. I've never had that before, where literally every box is checked...

Every single item we ordered blew our minds with how tasty they were. It was truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

We were traveling from Utah and were in that town accidentally. We wandered in to the closest restaurant nearby and were not at all prepared for how nice this was. Even though we were not looking our best from a long day on the road, we were treated kindly and even had nice conversation with the owner.

This is now on our must list EVERY time we come to California!“

We ordered the beef, lamb, and chicken skewers along w some buns, golden soup and topped it off with dessert durian pizza.
I couldnt give it a 5 stars for the food because I felt like the lamb skewers could have been better. There was a lot of fat and being that the skewers are very small, each bite should be meat of lamb not fat. But overall the food was good and it tempt my craving.

The price overall was high. I managed to rack the bill over $150 n that's just with 3 of us. So be prepared. 😄“

“We've been to this Phoenix Inn Chinese Cuisine for years. They've been changing the menu all these years, and we still miss their old fusion family dinner menu, including the egg rolls, sweet & sour pork, and egg drop soup. They also remodeled the place so it looks modern, and they still have some traditional stuff. Anyhow, their menu is now just like other Phoenix Cuisine with a lot of authentic Hong Kong food, and the taste was great. We ordered the crispy noodles with shredded pork, fried rice with seafood and chicken gravy, and fresh mango delight. They all tasted great and were reasonably priced, and had big portions. “The best Chinese food I had in a long long time. We have been with six, sharing different dishes - a blast. Share the soup! Highly recommended. Thanks for reading my comment. Now, if you are curious enough about my "rating scheme", here's "the moment of truth. I am a music photographer who has traveled the world with the world's greatest musical talents (Michael Jackson, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, and Rammstein, to name a few) for almost 40 years. When being asked "Where do you live" I tended to ask "in hotels". At my peak, I "shot" 250 shows a year. Will say: been there, saw and tasted it, and a lot, as I may say, and much to the dismay of my doctor who is in my back to lose a few pounds. Quite a few, as I may add, which is why my wife and I walk ten thousand steps per day, where- and whenever we can - and explore a lot of new exciting places - places you may oversee when just driving by. While I love to share my experience with others, I am sometimes shocked at how people use their "power of the word" to down-rate amazing places because of minor incidents (in my all-time favorite restaurant Le Petit Four on Sunset Plaza the owner was even called a racist as he refused to toast the (free) bread in his packed restaurant - they simply do not offer toasted bread, as no French place does, as I may add). Or I just read "Chicken piccata so over-salted I hope the dog enjoys the leftovers tomorrow, I brought home most of the dish." Did they speak to their service? How could the restaurant learn that something was wrong when patrons even have their leftovers boxed to take home? As a dog owner, I want to take the writer and shake him or her really bad and say "You give over-salted food to your dog? Anyone with a bit of brain understands this is a horrible idea... I hope you agree. So If I had a say on this portal, I would offer just to see the ratings of my friends. So I would see what the ratings were by like-minded people. Sadly, I have no say. I try not to compare apples with oranges. A place like this does not correspond to "The Ritz". At first, I assume that a restaurant is clean, they do not greet you with a gun - and they deliver whatever they promise. I do not give stars for things that are expected. In my rating scheme, three or more stars are awarded if they actually exceed my expectations. Four, if I am sure I will come back. To achieve five stars, I must be willing to take a detour of thirty minutes or more to go again. Thank you for reading this.“

“One of the BEST eating experiences I've ever had.
Not only had I never been here before,
But I had never tried Szechuan food.

I'm not local to this area, but my friends one day were raving about this place. We drove over 40 minutes to go here,
And honestly I didn't expect too much,
Just wanted to hang with the boys,
But once I took my first bite-
Wwwaaaaoooooowww. I was SO surprised at how unique and delicious this flavor was.

We ordered a lamb plate, where they served it with toothpicks, I'm uncertain of the name of the dish,
But my goodness. It was one of the best things I've eaten. I love spice, and this was spice in such a unique way that I had never had before. My lips were numb, not in an uncomfortable way, but in a truly exciting way as far as a food experience is.

We also got other plates,
But to me the clear stand out was the lamb dish with the toothpicks.

If this place was any closer,
I'd be paying rent there, eating there like 3 times a week 😂

The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating, attentive, and helpful.

Our dishes came with this lovely tea, and perfectly steamed rice.

It was such a satisfying experience all around that I had to write this review to support their business.

Now, I don't think I'll be able to eat Szechuan food anywhere else and honestly- I am not upset about that.

If you haven't tried this hidden gem,
It's with the trip out to experience it.

Parking is... Horrible honestly, the restaurant faces a busy street,
But even still,
It's absolutely worth going here.

Bring anyone who's like me and hasn't tried Szechuan before,
And they'll be just as happy with their experience as I was.

Look forward to coming back here in the future.“

This visit was all about classic Shanghai dishes, and every one of them delivered.

The **pork soup dumplings (xiaolongbao)** are a must-order. Served piping hot, the wrappers are thin yet resilient enough to hold the rich broth inside. Take a small bite, sip the flavorful soup, then enjoy the tender pork filling—absolutely satisfying. The true test of a great xiaolongbao is the soup, and this place has maintained remarkable consistency for over a decade.

First-time visitors should not miss the restaurant’s signature **giant crab roe soup dumpling**. About the size of your palm, it makes quite an impression when it arrives at the table. A straw is provided so you can first savor the abundant crab-infused broth before enjoying the delicate wrapper and filling. Rich, savory, and interactive, it's both delicious and fun.

The **Yulan fried rice cake** is a classic Shanghai snack. Its glutinous rice exterior is fried to a beautiful golden crisp while remaining pleasantly chewy inside. Filled with juicy seasoned pork, it strikes a wonderful balance between sweet and savory flavors. The more you chew, the more its distinctive aroma unfolds—a nostalgic taste of old Shanghai.

The **Wuxi-style spare ribs** were another highlight. Slow-braised until incredibly tender, the meat falls off the bone with ease. The sweet-savory sauce fully penetrates the ribs, creating the signature Jiangnan flavor that keeps you reaching for another piece.

The **stuffed gluten puffs with pork** brought back childhood memories. The gluten absorbs the savory braising sauce, becoming soft and springy, while the hearty pork filling inside adds satisfying texture and flavor. Every bite feels comforting and familiar.

The **shepherd’s purse dumplings** have remained consistently excellent over the years. The shepherd’s purse is fragrant and fresh, paired with just the right amount of pork filling. Flavorful yet never greasy, it’s the kind of comforting homemade dish that never disappoints.

To finish, we ordered a bowl of **sweet rice wine soup with glutinous rice balls**. The fermented rice aroma is delicate and balanced, while the rice balls are soft and chewy without being overly sweet.

Keeping a restaurant open for more than a decade is no easy feat. What’s even more impressive is its commitment to preserving the familiar flavors of Shanghai all these years later. From soup dumplings to traditional Shanghainese specialties, from Yulan cakes to shepherd’s purse dumplings, every dish reflects genuine care and craftsmanship.

For many longtime customers, this restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a taste of home and a connection to cherished memories. The address may have changed, but the Shanghai flavor that people have loved for over ten years remains exactly the same.“

“This place is a hidden gem and a longtime staple of Inglewood. As the neighborhood continues to change and become more gentrified, it still stands as classic that the local community genuinely loves. I’m really glad it’s still here and honestly hope it never leaves—people would be devastated if it did.

The food is amazing for locals who want a balance: lots of vegetables with just the right hint of fried and sweet flavors. Everything is hot, ready, and right in front of you. When ordering, it’s a little difficult to tell them what you want because eye sight is blocked by supplies, you have to point at what you want through the glass, and talk loud, the staff is older, but they’ve been doing this for a very long time. They are always generous so they should understand what you want. One plate is easily enough to feed two people. I can never finish a full plate myself and usually end up getting small boxes for everything. Prices are great, and contactless payment is available.

The vibe is small, quiet, and low-key. Seating is limited, with a couple of small tables and one table for four, which adds to the charm. It really does feel like a neighborhood spot rather than a tourist stop—Google Maps usually pushes Randy’s Donuts first, and honestly, we kind of want to keep it that way. People avoid it because they see “Donuts” and that’s how we like it.

I’ve been coming here for years. I remember when they had the donut side, which is gone now. I even brought my first girlfriend here, and I still come back every few months.

Whenever someone tells me they are coming to Inglewood, I always recommend three places: Randy’s Chinese Food, Bravo’s breakfast, and Tumby’s pizza. These places have been around forever, and they’re a big part of what makes Inglewood feel like home.“

Overall, great food, friendly service, and a clean, inviting atmosphere. Definitely a 5-star experience for anyone craving authentic Filipino-Chinese comfort food!“

“I googled "best Chinese in LA" and then this popped up as the #1 place. So we drove - and had a very good meal. However, if you expect the classic Chinese dishes, you will be disappointed. This is Shezuan, "a different animal". So no rice, no sweet-and-sour-this-and-that. So be prepared for very spicy Szechuan food. Noodles. No rice. Try the dumplings, they were delicious. We ordered mild (1 out of 5 spice degrees) and we were burning inside (we had two separate orders of dumplings - but spice grade 1. There is no consistency, so be careful). So if spicy is what you are "in" for, you'll love it. The ambiance is sort of authentic ;-) - the sign on how to use the toilet (outside the restaurant in the alley) says more than words. But then, it was $100 all-in for the four of us only. My advice: I could barely understand the service language. Better check the menu before you go. As we were first-timers, I wanted to share three starters and three mains among the four of us and leave it up to the waitress to make us explore - she did not understand. I asked if they served beer. The answer was "noodles or dumplings". :-)“

“This Chinese place is just too cute and adorable. They have great food, be it take out, delivery or dine in. We have done all three. It can get crowded and I don't think they take reservations. It is worth the wait.

The service is nice. The staff is wonderful and they know the menu well. You can call ahead and your food will be there for you to pick up. We often just have it delivered.

All of their food is super. We really love all their rice dishes and they are packed with flavor. Their shrimp dishes are really good and anything with crab will make you happy.

Parking is easy and yes, you will have to wait in line, but again, it is well worth it. So have fun and enjoy. It is also very clean, including the bathrooms.“

“I’ve been coming to Savoy Kitchen for a long time, and it’s still one of my go-to spots in the area. We ordered a spread of classics during our last visit, and while the food is still generally good, a few things felt a bit different this time around.

The Hainan Chicken Rice is what put them on the map. The chicken itself remains incredibly tender and juicy, and the trio of sauces still hits the spot. However, the chicken-to-rice ratio was definitely off on this visit—there was a mountain of rice but a pretty small portion of chicken. More importantly, the rice lacked that incredibly rich, savory chicken broth flavor that used to make Savoy stand out from every other spot. It tasted a bit more muted than before.

Luckily, the other dishes we tried held up their end of the bargain:

The Bread: Served fresh and nicely seasoned, though it was on the denser side rather than being light and airy. Still good for snacking on or soaking up extra sauce, just heavier than expected.

Chicken Pasta: A comforting, simple dish with plenty of tender chicken strips tossed in a light, savory broth.

BBQ Chicken Pizza: Generously topped with thick slices of chicken, red onions, and plenty of melted cheese.

Savoy is still a classic, and the meal overall was satisfying. I just really hope they bring back that signature richness to the chicken rice and balance out the portions again!“
