“Was looking for a quick bite to eat after attending an event at National Western and found Taco Uprising while searching maps, saw the 4.8 stars and figured we'd give it a try. I had 2 Birria tacos and one Pollo verde, they were some of the best tacos I've ever had. My partner had the cheese quesadilla, and my friend had 3 fried chicken tacos and they all said they were amazing as well! Walking back to the car I told my partner I already wanted to go back for more birria it was so good!“

“Having lived in Florida for 20 years, I have high standards for Mexican food — and this spot impressed me! The quesabirria and chicken tacos are amazing — they have a lot of delicious meat and are super affordable. And there’s a little self-serve station for extra toppings.

The gorditas are also really good. My Venezuelan boyfriend said it reminded him of arepas, which is a big compliment.

The cashier was kind and friendly, and there was no line when I ordered, so it did not take long at all for them to make the tacos or the margarita.“

“Velvet Taco never disappoints! No matter what creative flavor combination I try, the food is always phenomenal and hits the spot every single time. On top of the incredible menu, the excellent service is what really sets this place apar, the staff is consistently fast, friendly, and welcoming.“

“This is one of my favorite places to get papuses, i like them a little crispy on the outside and the curtido is delicious too. The tacos are ok. But they do have the cutest frozen margaritas that come in little martini glasses with tajine and chamoy.“

“The food and atmosphere are great, and this is a perfect spot for a date night or to meet up with friends. I just wish they put a little more effort into their vegetarian tacos. The flavor is delicious, but a roasted carrot really isn’t a protein substitute. It would be great if they had one or two more vegetarian tacos and preferably at least one with a protein like tofu, beyond, seitan, etc. I would definitely be a more regular customer if they made that change!“
