“This is a must try for anyone visiting Steamboat Springs! I came specifically for the venison while I was on a ski trip and it didn't disappoint. It was plated beautifully and tasted top notch. This is a high end type restaurant in terms of the menu and food quality, but without the pretentious atmosphere. It's very small and cozy and fits it well in the ski village. Well done!“
“What a gem! We randomly found this place on the last day of our steamboat staycation and it was DELICIOUS! Large menu with many dietary options and great/friendly service. Creekside Cafe will be a repeat every time we come to town! (Make a reservation if you have a large party ;)Dietary restrictions: Many options for the many different dietary restrictionsKid-friendliness: We dined on with 2-year old, easy peasy“
“Fun place with great food and service. We went on Easter so the wait was long, but there's shops and the river nearby to wait for the text. It's worth the wait if there is one. Get the cinnamon roll, the biscuit was really moist and held up as a sandwich.“
“Definitely come here for breakfast and or lunch. Food just hits the spot. Home style like, The service is definitely there. Servers constantly coming and checking on you. Service is Quick they are not lacking that’s for sure. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. If you have ever been to a first watch restaurant, similar to that style of breakfast and lunch.“
“This place is super fun to eat at! We had excellent service and amazing food, as well as overall the atmosphere was great. It's fun reading the dollar bill messages stapled to the walls and ceilings. We even called a few of the numbers that requested jokes, Chewbacca noises, or to prove that you are a mountain man ?.I got the Mahalo Burger (pineapple, teriyaki sauce, and Swiss cheese) and my brother got the John Wayne (BBQ sauce, cheddar, and an onion ring.We talked and laughed with other guests we'd never met before. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. If you are anywhere near this place, please go eat there and leave a dollar bill with a message ?.The curly fries were amazing as well. We live in Minnesota, but if we're anywhere near this place again (we drove 4 hours out of our way to this place on our road trip and it was worth it)!Parking: It's pretty busy so be prepared to find parking that's a little walk to the restaurant. If you have handicapped guests you may want to drop them off first then find parking.“
“Wonderful experience the minute we walked in the door... You have just a really fun atmosphere, and our waitress was wonderful and the food was super tasty. However, I did take half of it home which was fine! I am a local and I definitely have a great experience every time I go! Thank you for having a lot of variety on your menu and I can't wait to come back soon!“
“The Bistro Steak was amazing. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. The seasoning on the steak was delicious and the sauce was also amazing. Mashed potatoes were delicious as well. The veggies were done nicely and everything went together very nicely and all came out and nice and hot.“
“The mussels are amazing! Delicious kids mac and cheese. Portions are not too big. We split a burger and the kitchen staff split it for us and put on separate plates before bringing it to the table which was really kind. Excellent, friendly service. Highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Impossible burger, saladsKid-friendliness: Kids menu, good portions, cookie included“
“Our favorite place to hit when we go to Steamboat. The old-time saloon feel is fun and rustic. The menu is not overwhelming but covers a few different food genres so they have a little bit of everything. The drink menu is well crafted and they have some unique cocktails on the menu. I had the spicy margarita and it was awesome! If it’s busy season you will need reservations, lucky for us we are visiting at the end of ski season so we did not have to wait for a table. If you’re looking for a good spot for dinner, this is it!Parking: Spots available on the street and along the side of the building“
“Thank you Shay and Christopher and entire Primrose staff for a great dinner out tonight. Fresh flavors (I swear the shrimp was spiked with buzz-buttons!) And fantastic drinks. Energy all around was attentive and kind. Seemed like we were being taken care of all around and truly enjoyed our small plates at happy hour. When we come back to Steamboat we will come back!“
“We dined our first night in Steamboat after a very long travel day. We started with Manhattan cocktails which were quite good. The 6 of us settled on sharing pear or beet salads and then Elk au Poivre. All were excellent. A few of us paired dinner with a glass of local red wine, also nice. Our server was very attentive throughout dinner. However, after we'd finished and let him know dessert wasn't an option, he sort of disappeared. We sat there for 20+ minutes waiting for our bill, finally tracking him down at the bar to request it. Not the end of the world, but it did diminish an otherwise excellent dining experience. I plan on going back.“
“Busy day in Downtown Steamboat so we stopped here for lunch after being turned away at a few other places due to it being busy. The shack was also busy when we arrived but we got the next table. Service was friendly and excelled and oh my gosh the prices were incredible compared to other places in Steamboat. I got the fish and chips with sweet potato fries, friends got the French dip and a salad with chili. All was delicious. We even came back for breakfast the following day because we loved this little gem.“
“For nearly a decade, I've been a loyal patron of the Drunken Onion, a culinary gem renowned for its exceptional Capri Sandwiches and Tiramisu. Each visit reaffirms my love for this place and its extraordinary cuisine. The Capri Sandwich is, simply put, a masterpiece. The bread, always fresh and perfectly toasted, provides a delightful crunch that contrasts with the tender, flavorful fillings. The sandwich is generously stacked with high-quality ingredients - succulent meats, ripe tomatoes, and just the right amount of seasoning. What truly sets it apart is the harmonious blend of flavors; each bite is a testament to the skill and care put into its preparation. Then there's the Tiramisu. This dessert is a dream for any sweet-toothed aficionado. It strikes a flawless balance between the boldness of coffee and the subtle sweetness of mascarpone cheese. The layers are impeccably structured, offering a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth texture that's both comforting and indulgent. It's not just a dessert; it's an experience, one that brings a perfect close to any meal. What amplifies the allure of the Drunken Onion is not just the food, but the ambiance and service. The staff are warm and welcoming, creating an atmosphere that feels both familiar and sophisticated. It's the kind of place where you're greeted with a smile and where every meal feels special.the Drunken Onion isn't just a restaurant; it's a haven for those who appreciate fine sandwiches and exquisite desserts. After ten years of consistent quality and enjoyment, I can wholeheartedly say it remains a cut above the rest.“
“Incredible food! I sometimes take quite a while deciding what to order because everything on the menu sounds so amazing. I love that there are so many vegetarian options. It’s obvious that the ingredients are very high-quality, and that a lot of time and care is committed to creating healthy and delicious dishes.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian“
“As a Steamboat regular I cannot say enough good things about Truffle Pig. The fries? To die for. The ambiance? Impeccable. The service? Second to none. if you're lucky you'll have Cole as your bar tender. He is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best bartender in all of the Rockies. The perfect way to end a long day on the mountain“
“After skiing all morning this is the best pace to rest your ski legs. Only accessible by skiing from the south mountain at Steamboat Mountain. Named after a famous ski jumper Ragnar's offers Scandinavian menu! The Onion Soup cannot be missed! Legendary Bloody Mary's! The Ruben is also delish! The service is great. Get there early because there is usually a wait.“
“I showed up on the wrong date, and the staff was so accommodating. We sat at the bar where Cory took great care of us while she was bartending. She knew the menu cold, and made some great suggestions. The food was amazing! Love the whole concept and will be a favorite in Steamboat!“
“We celebrated some dear friends' engagement in the private, Katherine Harwigs Room in February and had a wonderful time! JJ went above and beyond to develop a special menu for the evening, we were able to decorate the space and Chris, our server, was very accommodating. The food, atmosphere and service made it such a memorable evening!“
“Building has three levels with an outside patio which is very nice on warm days. Top floor is a bar with bare bones food like pizza slices. Middle floor has a wide selection of food and I had the burrito bowl, which was delicious. Bottom level has restrooms and shops.“
“Absolutely phenomenal dining experience here. We were lucky enough to find 3 bar seats open and had Ryan as our bartender. He was fantastic and just all around the man! We let him chose a bunch of things for us and all of them were great. The pork belly was definitely my favorite but the tuna tartare & elk tips were amazing as well. It was so good in fact that we ended up going back a couple days later. Highly reccomend going here if you get a chance, you will not regret it!“
