“Piece of Cake by Brittany is great for a last minute cupcake dessert. I walked in mid-afternoon and cleaned house for a variety of cupcakes for kiddos that were coming to my home and also had gluten free option for a brownie-raspberry dessert which my friend loved. I may have lucked out with the timing, but the staff were so welcoming and they made me an iced coffee while I waited. I haven’t ordered for a party yet, but will definitely be emailing Brittany my order when the time comes. The fact that she supports family’s in need, police, emergency services, and veterans, she’s top notch in my family’s eyes.“

“If you are driving the Merritt Parkway, this restaurant is a three minute drive just west of the tunnel at New Haven. A Borek is a sort of pizza popular across the Middle East and Israel with a fabulous layered thin crust with cheese or potato. Wow. This is way better than a pizza. They have a simple little seating area and will bring you warm Borek, three sauces and really really good coffee in a box so you can take the rest with You. Fun fact. Google and the rest of the large language models can *never*spell Borek. I have to correct the spelling every time.“

“Wow!!! I just enjoyed the most delicious almond croissant I’ve ever had! Tons of almond paste, lots of slivered almonds and the moistest, flakiest large croissant. My husband loved the chocolate croissant as well! No skimpy chocolate from Molly! HIGHLY recommend Molly’s Bakery and her delectable treats. Great selection too.“

“I met these cookies at the Plainville Balloon Festival. The experience from start to finish was comforting, fun, safe, and delicious! I have been gluten free and dairy free for over 10yrs and LOVE finding small businesses that hold space for that! Simple ingredients for a healthier treat that tastes better than most of the chemical crap out there. To spice up my review, my sister went into labor one night and ended up needing a C-section. I was bringing dinner to the hospital at a late hour. Being a HUGE dessert family, I called every bakery around to find a dairy free gluten free dessert bc I did not have time to make any and knew my sister would love a treat but was having no luck. I remembered Scoops gave them a ring and no answer. I decided to call again bc my number is out of state lol and prayed to God they answered. They did! They were just finishing up an event in Hartford. I explained the situation to them and they hand delivered a box of cookies to the hospital in Bristol for me with a huge smile on. It made me feel so good to know that they took joy in the delivery. What an amazing deed that made an entire family so happy. Eating healthy cookies while taking turns holding the new baby! “I would like to share my recent experience at Saray Bakery. A couple of days ago I placed my order over the phone and went to pick up on Thursday. There was a mistake with my order and it wasn’t ready. The employees seemed very apoplectic and told me to please give them 15 minutes and they will fix it. Even tho I was really in a rush i decided to wait. The ladies at the counter were so hospitable that you couldn’t be mad at them. The offered me a free coffee and 2 cookies. One lady came over to apologize again and explained the situation while the other lady worked on my order. They make my order quickly and put in another free pastry to go. That was so nice! At the end it’s not the mistake that matters it’s how they handled it and how they made me feel! Thank you lovely ladies at Saray Bakery I will be back :)“

“So I went over a friends house for dinner and he had a Lupi's Bread on the table, Looked great. Tasted better. He told me about this little bakery in New Haven at 169 Washington Ave Lupi's Marchigiano Bakery. I went the next day for another Bread where I met Larry Lupi a true gentleman. His grandfather started the Bakery in 1900 when he came over from Italy, and now is being run by Larry and his brother Peter. So If you want to taste a little piece of heaven, stop by Lupi's and for a few bucks you can.

“I got a cake from here 2 years and it was exactly what I wanted (the heart cake). My husband loved the taste and kept mentioning it when it got closer to his birthday this year so I, of course, had to get another one. It was AMAZING! Everyone loved it and a few said it was the best cake they’d ever had. Yellow cake with cheesecake filling and buttercream- highly recommend. Steve was also great with communicating and working through my indecisiveness about the design.“

“Ricotta's catering service is wonderful! We are from out of state and were organizing a Shiva lunch for family living near New Haven. Given that we only had a day to plan, time was very tight and we didn't know where to turn. Luckily, Ricotta's was recommended. Sarah was great - she was flexible, willing to deliver, arranged the food beautifully, and everything was delicious. Guests, in particular, loved the sushi, the pita sandwiches and the pastries. When visiting, we can't wait to eat at the restaurant and to hopefully use the catering service for a happier event. We highly recommend them!“

“They make the best taralli! And they make many different varieties of taralli. My favorite are the ones with fennel. But they also have red pepper, pepper. There are so many varieties I can't remember them all. Some have a sugar frosting. I eat them like that but they go great with a beer or a glass of wine.“

It was ok, just no pineapple. Tasted more like toasted coconut. The mango one was also very good. The tiramisu cake was devine but I actually didn't care too much for the tiramisu shaped cup dessert. The seating was so cute. We sat & shared two desserts between the two of us which actually made us purchase a few more of the desserts each! The service was a little slow, as all 3 of the staff went behind the counter doors. One time I called HELLO for them, the second time I found a bell to ring. Very nice people though. I would go back.“
