“Sunday Brunch was flavorful, mimosa was, well a mimosa . The server was kind enough to put an orange slice when requested. I have included a couple of photos, I find this helpful when searching for a place to dine. Shrimp and Corn Chowder was sweet from the grilled fresh corn, and tender shrimp. Herbs and peppered perfectly. No salt detected which was a pleasant surprise! Served with a slice of grilled sourdough topped this flavorful starter without question! Lobster Benedict was actually Devine! Eggs were perfectly poached, plump sweet lobster chunks, balanced perfectly with chewy toasted ciabatta. Potatoes were tasty, tender and seasoned with sofitas (?) so good. Tiny diced red onions, peppers and herbs scattered made the entire meal flavorful and fresh. Certainly enough space for a crowd, and an equal amount of two seat tables snuggled in corners for a quiet meal for one. Thank you!“
“I feel like a lot of people don’t know that there really is an embarrassment of riches of restaurants in New Haven County. If you love good food all you have to do is look around here. Dad is the one who made the reservation at Fair Haven Oyster Club (I’m pretty sure you must make a reservation, the spot is small and if the weather is bad the only seating is the bar and a row of two tops behind the bar). I looked up the menu and it looked pretty SPECTACULAR. Reminder: I don’t eat beef, pork or poultry. Lots of times my choices are somewhat limited when we dine out, not at Fair Haven. WOW. Now, if you don’t eat seafood I’m pretty sure you’re out of luck. I don’t think there was anything vegetarian, let alone vegan. Note: Dad reserved “in the bar” on Resy. Turns out that is stools AT the bar. “Dining room” is the two tops that are right behind the bar. So choose wisely. Outdoor seating I think is weather dependent and we got the most spectacular evening last night. We arrived very early for our reservation because we were out and about anyway and it worked out because they sat us out on the deck overlooking the water and the boats. Hands Down now of the very best settings I have ever dined in (and I have dined all over this country and world). Weather was perfection, beautiful blue sky, big, fluffy clouds;s tide was going out, water was crystal clear; across the Quinnipiac River you could see old homes and an old church; off in the distance I could see the cars and trucks on 91. I LOVED THAT. I was a little worried when they gave us tiny water glasses. I drink water. Plenty of it. But they kept those little glasses full. Which is no mean feat when the place just got progressively busier and also, keeping water glasses filled is a common “weak point” when I eat out. The service here was ON POINT. While Dad was griping about the QR code menu I ordered a Hendrick’s and Tonic. Just because they looked like their cocktail game was strong. FYI, most places make terrible, undrinkable gin and tonics. Not Fair Haven Oyster Club! They served me the perfect G&T, even in the correct highball glass (!!) with super fizzy tonic water (!!!). That G&T set the tone for the rest of the meal…knocked directly out of the park. The menu is broken into Raw (they have an impressive oyster selection and caviar service, if that’s your thing), soups and salads, small plates and large plates. My plan was to eat my way through salads and small plates. I did order Scallop Crudo (olive oil, lemon, salt, herbs) and Tuna Crudo (over foie gras mousse on a brioche cracker) for the table. But then I ate them… Dad ordered Gildas to share (tiny skewers of anchovies, piparra peppers, castelvetrano olives & Mahon cheese). Super fun bar type snack. Things I ate: Fair Haven Clam Chowder. Which really tasted like a very good escarole (it was actually kelp) soup with clams. Baby Butter Lettuces (w/fried oysters, green goddess, bonito). This is EVERYTHING a salad should be. Delicious, filling, fresh, UMAMI. The fried oysters make it a legit meal. Heirloom Tomatoes (w/bottarga): beautiful, delicious tomatoes served in the most Umami-forward way possible. Uni Toast (w/ white shoyu, sesame & chive). I eat A LOT of Uni. Because I eat A LOT of Omakase and Kaiseki in NYC. So, for me? There are better ways to savor Uni. But, again! UMAMI BOMB. And I am always here for the Umami. Mom and Dad ordered the Grilled Black Cod (over cucumber & snap pea salad w/ kelp ponzu & shiso). SNAPS to them for stretching outside their culinary comfort zones after I explained o them that Black Cod is one of the most delicious fish out there and ponzu us right up their alley! This dish is just glorious: Perfectly grilled fish adrift in a sea of incredibly fresh and delicious vegetables. The snap of those snap peas was perfection. For dessert we ordered Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with honey fennel pollen & wild fennel. I. LOVE. Fennel and will eat it in any form. This really did not taste of fennel. But! This was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever h“
“My husband and I decided to try this place for our 25th wedding anniversary! They did not disappoint! The atmosphere was amazing as well as the service. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. The manager took the time to make our evening extremely special by bringing out a nice dessert!!! He even remembered our names.“
“I have been here 5 times now both pick up and sit down. The food has been amazing and the atmosphere is great. The inside is very very clean. I do not like writing negative reviews however the service in person is great but over the phone 1 star would be to much. Both times i ordered over the phone it was very very rushed and I could hardly get a question in. This most recent time the phone call was so rushed and with the language barrier we misunderstood each other. I know that can happen and it is what it is. When i showed up i noticed my order had additional items that i did not ask for. When I told the gentleman i did not ask for them I got the worst attitude and he got so mad. When i said I'm not sure what happened but sorry he snapped at me saying I should have listened better. Normally I would have said whatever and taken the additional items if they are small however it was 3 more things of ramen. I still tipped 20% because maybe he was having a bad day and not tipping is just rude. When he came back after he removed the other items my food was basically thrown at me. I didn't check it and when i got home one of the lids was off and half of the broth leaked out. I was really enjoying a ramen place being so close and i was sending all my friends there. However reguardless of how good their dumplings are i may just drive the extra 20 minutes somewhere else.“
“We came for the tapas and did not leave dissatisfied!! Soup to nuts this hidden gem has it all! Authentic taste blended in with all the vacation feels! I forgot I was still in CT! From the moment we started with a white white Sangria and Pina mojito we were far far away. The salmon tar tar, chorizo, and pork Arepas blew our minds. Ask for the off menu street corn dip and plantain chips and you'll never want to leave. We will be back for sure and if anyone ever asks just say 'Ola'!“
“Moby Dick’s is a hidden gem that’s not a secret anymore. I stopped by there today for an early dinner and had the linguine and clams fra diavalo. I love spicy stuff, and it did not disappoint. The food is top notch, friendly service, and a neighborhood environment where I feel welcome. My buddy Jeff is the chef there and just like the West End Bistro days, I keep coming back for more! Check it out if you haven’t already!!“
“This was our first time at Chaplin's and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was excellent, well prepared and hot when it arrived at the table. The Chaplin burger was exceptional and the portion was large. The noise level a little high, they could use some soundproofing material in the ceiling, would definitely return again“
“We had a wonderful time on Thanksgiving. Something went very wrong with our original restaurant reservation. Shell & Bones were able to accommodate a table of six last minute. Great service fabulous food all with a view. Highly recommend.“
“Outstanding food in the heart of New Haven. It's a small, clean place with huge portion sizes. The service was attentive and the staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the different dishes. I had the lomo saltado (classic Peruvian stir-fried beef dish with fries) and my dining partner had a Peruvian rotisserie chicken sandwich. The food is flavorful and an assortment of sauces were provided to add different flavor profiles - spicy, sweet, tangy, etc. We sampled some sauces, which tasted great, but the food was well-seasoned, so we did not need to add any sauces. We both left happy and full. On another date, I also ordered an arroz con mariscos (rice with seafood). There was many pieces of seafood (mussels, crab, shrimp, squid) and it reminded me of the times I had paella in Spain. Icaru is an excellent addition to the New Haven food scene and is a must try for people interested in exploring the diversity of dining in New Haven!“
“Every meal is perfect! I have tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed! My wife has quite a few food allergies, and between the communication with the waitstaff and the chef, her meals come out amazing! After each meal we always finish up at the bar with a cocktail. The bartenders creat a different drink special every day. And let me just say... sooo good! So this restaurant is a must try! You will be coming back again and again!Dietary restrictions: The chef can create a meal specifically to your restrictions. Don't be shy to let your server know. They take it very seriously.“
“End of summer 2023 I had an old military friend come visit from Puerto Rico. 1st thing he asked to eat was fried catfish. We found Kevin's online and went there. The service was great and the catfish was excellent. Kevin's will be my seafood take out from now on.“
“Great place if you're looking for flavorful food! Chicken tenders are always flavorful and delicious. I tried the fried fish for the first time and it was totally worth it. The menu could look a little pricey but totally worth it if you're looking for fresh flavorful food.“
“Best food around! Love supporting local businesses in my community. Their food hits the soul just right and makes you want to dance! Every time I go it taste just as good and nice and warm. It’s hard to drive and not want to rip the bag open and eat everything right there. If you haven’t tried their food yet…what are you waiting for? And don’t forget the homemade tea! Those are so good, that you can’t go wrong.“
“Came here for some drinks which were excellent! Happened to be happy hour so that was also a bonus. Ambiance of the whole place is super chill and cozy and not too loud for how busy it was which was great, didn't have to tell for the person sitting next to me to hear me. Didn't order any food but I watched a bunch of food come out and it looked amazing so I will definitely be back!“
“I’ve eaten from D’Amato’s for as long as I can remember. Food is delicious and service is wonderful from their very beginning until today. Now some many many years later and I’ve moved away to SC, and on my return which is at lease 3-4 times a year, I make it my business to visit them every time I’m here. Til next time.“
“Lovely atmosphere! We made reservations and were quickly seated upon arrival. Our waitress Daniela was very friendly and personable. She recommend us the ceviche mixto, lomo saltado and seafood chaufa of course, the food was wonderful!!! I highly recommend coming here! The atmosphere is very lively and lots of fun too. I'd recommend reservations since they did seem pretty packed on Friday night.“
“I really don’t post reviews but this food was soooo good I have to. I’m a woman raised by a Southern Belle who cooked, catered and was well-known in the food arena. I had fried chicken, collard greens and potato salad. Closest meal I’ve ever had to my mother’s cooking. So well cooked. Thank you for a wonderful Sunday dinner. Hats off to the Chef! We will be back. #lifetimecustomer“
“We love Baja's! The salsa bar is always delicious and fresh, the margaritas are enjoyable, and the entrees are always yummy. I typically order the mango shrimp platter, which comes with 2 tortillas for making one's own burritos. The shrimp is flavorful, and the mango salsa is absolutely perfect! The staff is very friendly and warm, we feel so comfortable every time we eat there. We consider Baja's "our place" and when we want to eat out but don't want to make a fuss, we happily retreat to Baja's.“
“Loved our lunch, my wife had the hot buttered lobster roll meal, I went with the salad and lobster on the side recommended by the waitress. Her cole slaw was great, the fries stayed hot all through the meal. My salad was generous and the lobster was fresh tasting with plenty of butter. The clam chowder was creamy and of clams.Dietary restrictions: Server was helpful suggesting my salad and lobster on the side choice.Parking: Used the train station lot. Street parking is limited to 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on location.“
“I stopped by today to pick up two lobster roll platters. They were phenomenal!!The lobster rolls were packed with succulent lobster meat. The crinkle fries were perfectly fried. Hot and crunchy like I like them. And a side of coleslawGreat service Friendly and kindThere’s picnic tables to sit at on a beautiful day like todayAND they are open year round!!Worth the trip! Worth the price!I will definitely be back“
“Under new ownership! We stopped in for a meal and I ended up being highly satisfied, started with bread and an oil garlic and herb did, that had a lot of aroma and fine taste. Bread was hard shell soft inside perfect to soak up the oil. We ordered espresso martinis that were excellent in taste! Then the salad, great color to the greens and crunchy croutons with a great Cesar dressing. The meals Fra Diablo calamari in spaghetti and a shrimp and scallop special with broccoli rabe cooked with knowledge and heart. Finish with a Sauvignon Blanc. What a great meal and they are making the dining area cozy and warm. Exactly what you need when you eat at an Italian restaurant. I will continue to dine in and out.“
“This is a great place to host a private event. The restaurant had plenty of space for our group of 30 in a private room. The brunch platters were large and fairly priced. Overall, the brunch food was good, but average. We would recommend visiting Stonebridge for their lunches and dinners, which look amazing. The coffee was on the weaker side, so I recommend skipping it and going straight to a mimosa.Parking: Parking is a bit of a nightmare due to the limited lot sizes and the extreme popularity of the restaurant.“
“The place is very sophisticated and neat. The customer service was A1 and the waitresses were very friendly. Additionally, the decoration of the restaurant represents Peruvian culture in great detail and is reflected in the delicious dishes we order. I won't be able to stop recommending this restaurant.“
“I didn't eat. They often have 4 or so bands play on one night, and the performances are always great. This place supports new bands. Some can be loud or not your taste of music, but it's worth supporting musicians everywhere! Check the schedule.“
“This is a great place. The cashier who took my order was very nice. She even brought my order out front to my car when it was ready which was very nice of her. The vibe feels welcoming inside. The scallops are amazing! I always get my mom whole belly clams. You can get the dinner or lunch option.“
“In my opinion, this restaurant has the best food in the area. Im talking all of New Haven County and then some. Everything is absolutely delicious, the prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is great. Not to mention, customer service is great. I highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.“
“1st time at Hook and Reel! DELICIOUS!!! I could barely eat it all, so much food!! I had the crab cluster with shrimp and scallops and the Hook and Reel sauce. It was a combo of Old Bay, Cajun seasoning, lemon Pepper and lemon butter sauces. Yummy!! Our server was great, the host who seated us was friendly and even the guy that brought our food. Notice the picture!!! 1st on list next time I visit CT!!“
“We had dinner tonight at Nikki and Frankie's on Route 80 on the recommendation of a friend.. the eggplant was fantastic and made the right way the good old-fashioned Italian way.. the meatballs were legit the sauce was delish and couldn't be any fresher... we were welcomed like we were walking into aunties dining room and the place was clean as a whistle.. A must go to !“
“Excellent service, charming outdoor seating. I want to mention the Lobster Roll, slice of lemon was $22. I added fries for $4, I'm not sure about all of you but I haven't walked away with a hot lobster roll for under $27 in a very long time! So price is right. Fries are hot seasoned and I could have shared with a friend or two! Fairly stuffed, medium sized toasted roll. I like it here, I love lobster rolls.“

“Ordered from their website which was super easy and convenient. We ordered drunken noodles, pad woosen, thai bubble tea and the mango juice. Everything was packaged nicely and was ready upon arrival. Even after getting home the food was not mushy at all! The drunken noodles were spicy and super flavorful. The pad woosen was loaded with veggies. Will be back again!“
“Good food, tastes like homemade heaven.. I ordered the wings mac and fries. The chicken was fried hard like I like it the fries was crispy and well seasoned, but damn they must not carry forks, spoons , hot sauce, ketchup, cuz none of that was in the bag.. not one condiment or utensil, I am homeless so i dont have the luxury of having those items laying around, eating it was aggravating but it was my first time there.. imma give another around ..and tell seel books“
“We are staying in the hotel here.On our first night staying here on Monday, we just wanted to know we had dinner sorted so we ate here. The food was absolutely delicious. It is a little bit more than we'd normally pay for a meal but well worth it.The quality of the food and the service is second to none.We liked it so much we ate here again tonight.Dietary restrictions: We have our breakfast here every morning whilst we're staying. I need dairy free milk and every morning they get me some. It's no trouble.“
“Great little place for fried seafood and hot dogs. You can get 2 foot long HUMMEL hotdogs with fries, a drink and Cole slaw for $12. That’s about about $7 cheaper than Frankie’s and these hot dogs are grilled over flames instead of fried. They have a seafood platter for $30 and for an extra $5 you can switch from clam strips to whole bellies which is what I did and was totally worth the extra $5. There were so many whole bellies, it was ridiculous. The fried shrimp are cooked perfectly and the scallops are super flavorful and juicy albeit just a teeny bit too salty. The fish was cooked really well too although that’s not really my thing but I will say the breading on it was thin, crispy and delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and answered all of my annoying questions with no problem at all. And one of the best things, free refills on the soda. Really, the only “complaint” I have about this place is that I wish the tartar sauce was more “relishy”. Can’t wait to try the burger. :)“
“??? BEST EGG & Cheese Sandwich in the neighborhood under 3 minutes. I stepped into the restroom for what was probably 2.5 minutes. Upon exiting I was greeted with only the finest sandwich in the Town! They’re not too chatty, unlike me but extremely about action and proof. I went to a nearby restaurant a few weeks ago and they couldn’t ever match the caliber of the attention and quality of this fine eatery. I am very picky and particular.I needed the eggs runny/over easy with LTM & boy did these guys deliver? 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ALL AROUND. I do recommend. Check ‘em out!!Parking: Bathroom in service. I actually stopped elsewhere prior and needed to use restroom to my dismay, it was “out of service.” Which really sucks for employees, too! ALERT ? TO ALL RESTAURANTS WE KNOW THEYRE FOR PAYING CUSTOMERS, MAKE SURE THEYRE IN SERVICE.“
“This has become a staple in our family - made to order breakfast sandwiches with a gluten free option! Great price point and a very family friendly atmosphere! My 2 year old asks to go to Goodie’s for an egg sandwich almost daily! Makes me so happy to have this little tradition!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options ?Kid-friendliness: My two year old is obsessed with this place, my husband and I could not be more pleased with the ease of a nice meal out that doesn’t break the bank, or feel too fussy!“
“My niece gave it a 100 out of 10. She is a picky eater. She literally liked the plastic container after the banana pudding was done. We ordered wings, flounder, greens, mac and cheese, fried broccoli and lemonade. Everything was good. Don't walk run to one of the best restaurants I have been to. Amazing from friendly owner, fresh food, to tasty food. I will travel back from NY to partake in her amazing food. Thanks Surf and Turf!!!!!This place knows how to treat their customers!!!!Vegetarian options: Vegetables not cooked in meat.“
“this was our first visit to Paolo's. the food, the staff and ambiance was nothing less than awesome. words that immediately come to mind are relaxin, comfortable, delicious and friendly. We just discovered our favorite local restaurant. I highly recommend Paolo's if you want to feel like you just visited Naples. enjoy.“
