They blew my mind; specially the mushroom soup. It was amazing! I also like that the Persian bowl was a feature by an Iranian chef recently arrived to the country. The ambience and service were outstanding as well. And I loved that I could, for once, speak Spanish without feeling intimidated.“

“First visit; I went for Restaurant Week. I ordered the chicken corn chowder, the short rib ravioli and the caramel cheesecake. The chowder was excellent, a great balance of corn and chicken and a goodly amount--but not too much--pepper. I loved it...and a very generous portion! The ravioli was super too--cooked to perfection, stuffed to capacity with cheese, accompanied by a nice hunk of well-seasoned and -cooked short rib. I wasn't able to finish it, so I took some home. I took the cheesecake home too and ate it after a couple of conf calls. Just the right amount of caramel with a couple of strawberries and a creme Anglaise sauce. Scrumptious!! I don't remember many occasions when I've loved all three courses of a meal, but that was certainly the case tonight. I can't wait to go back.“

“Toro Bar is honestly one of my favorite spots to chill. The bartender is awesome — super friendly and really makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. Drinks are great, and having a pool table there just adds to the vibe. Perfect place to hang out with friends and kick back.“

“If you are on a gluten free diet, this restaurant is a real treat. This is the ONLY restaurant I know of in the entire DC area that offers gluten free French toast!!! It is really yummy. It is gluten free cinnamon raison bread that they make into French toast. It is served with maple syrup that has few slices of bananas in it. It is always served warm. (Be sure to look for the bananas. If the French toast is served with sliced strawberries, that is the wheat based French toast.) This restaurant also has gluten free bread so most of their sandwiches can be made gluten free upon request. And they can make their eggs benedict gluten free by using their gluten free toast. It is a very pleasant experience dining here. I usually dine outside. They are located on a small street in Georgetown. Georgetown can be crowded but on this small street, it is never very busy. On a nice weather day, it is a pleasant experience to eat the gluten free French toast while enjoying the weather. The service is always good too. I enthusiastically recommend this restaurant.“

“Bistro Du Jour is a great spot for a relaxed meal with a touch of class. The food is fresh and flavorful, the coffee and pastries are excellent, and the vibe feels cozy but still lively. The staff are friendly and attentive, and everything comes out beautifully presented. Definitely a place I’d come back to for brunch or a nice casual dinner.“

“My favorite place to get coffee in DC and a great neighborhood gem! They use counter culture coffee. I especially love their seasonal drink menu, and always crave their black and yellow coffee drink (lemonade and espresso). I’m not normally a sweet coffee person, but this place is an exception because of how well crafted their drinks are (think similar to a nice cocktail bar). I love that when you dine in, they include special toppings with their seasonal drinks. The place is cozy, well decorated, and the perfect place to catch up with a friend. Food and cocktails are great too - especially for a quick meal / breakfast / snack. My favorites are the sausage egg & cheese breakfast sandwich and ajiaco soup.“

“I enjoyed the green zone, it had me flying high. Flying high when I tried their coffee drink. There was so much in it I don’t even know what to call it, but look at the picture, it looks delicious. I payed a pretty penny for it too, but pennies I got. This place cost a lot of green so bring your wallet, credit card too. Have fun, it’s good (at least their coffee drink is).“

“I hosted my wedding reception at Riggs in October and was absolutely floored by the level of service, kindness, and professionalism of everyone. The valet employees were exceptional - especially Coach. They went above and beyond for us and all of our guests to make such a smooth transition anytime we came in or exited the hotel. I also had the pleasure of working with Karen & Brittany on the event side and cannot say enough good things! Karen started our journey into wedding planning and Brittany absolutely crushed handling the rest and it was so appreciated! Brittany was so down to earth and she put my Type A mind at ease that she had it all under control at all times and it was life saving! Not only was the staff amazing but the hotel is stunning, cafe riggs has the best cocktails and overall we couldn't have asked for anything more. We still get comments about how insane our wedding dinner and desserts/cake were. Truly couldn't recommend Riggs more for your wedding or any special occasion! We can't wait to celebrate our anniversary here in the coming year just to relive the day and exceptional service!“

My sister-in-law had the avocado salad. I would come here at 10 out of 10 a time every single time and don’t forget to ask for Dylan as your waiter. It was amazing. And order the Mojito!“

“There's a reason Rose Ave usually has a line out the door. This is one of the best bakeries in DC, with a somewhat limited selection compared to other bakeries. They have one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city, egg and cheese on a garlic croissant type roll. Super rich and will definitely leave your hands covered in butter. The ube kouign amann is incredible and the donuts are both delicious and unique. They have great coffee and a small selection of cakes and slices of cake as well.“

“We loved having dinner so much on Friday night that we had lunch on Saturday! Lobster roll was delicious. Great selection of raw oysters. PEI mussels were the best! Service was on point. Friday night Ashley was great and sorry I didn’t get our great servers name on Saturday. Manager Ronald Vasquez was so personable and made us feel like regulars. Wish we lived a bit closer because we would be. Highly recommend!“

It was a beautiful sunny day, and we were greeted with sunny faces and a friendly, highly professional staff. We sat in the outdoor area and everything from being there to fill our water glasses and explaining the menu was covered. I highly recommend Lily’s if not just for the fact that we felt like we were at home but to top it off, the food was delicious. Try the Tropical salad and the meatball appetizer!!“

“Came for high tea today with family - I notified the staff several weeks in advance that I'm vegan and one of my siblings is gluten free, and that we both have specific and severe allergies.
I was very anxious about dining here because I had to be hospitalized after having afternoon tea at another (and completely unrelated) place earlier this year.
They assured me on the phone, and again when we were seated, that they were aware of our allergies and dietary restrictions and everything would be taken care of. But when our food came out, the items we were allergic to were on our plates! Our waiter, Deepak, was extremely apologetic and quickly took care of it.
At the end of our meal, he told us he had talked to the manager and had ALL of our meals comped because of the mixup - something we did not at all expect and tried to protest! It was incredibly generous and kind, and even this aside, he was an attentive and excellent waiter.
I would come back again for the quality of service alone (and the vegan scones melt in your mouth!).“
