We didn’t expect a lot from a shopping center restaurant on Rockbridge Road, if I’m honest… and we were delighted to be proven wrong. My “Bees Knees” cocktail was delicious. My salad was a cut above— fresh greens, yummy bits of roasted peppers throughout, lightly dressed with a homemade vinaigrette. My husband’s salmon and my Peche pizza were absolutely on point; both entrees were creative and unique— and SO GOOD!! Topped off by house made watermelon sorbet, we were pretty much in heaven by the time we finished our meal. Can’t recommend enough!!”

The drinks we had was da bomb and the food was excellent. This is going to be my new spot and it's near me. The price is very reasonable. “My husband and my daughter and I went to the Commons for lunch Saturday and had a very wonderful time. We had reserved a table out on the patio through open table. When you eat at the commons you don't just get a meal you get an entire experience! Our table overlooked the lake and we got to enjoy the Fall colors of the trees and even the geese swimming around and flying by! It was so peaceful and relaxing! For lunch my husband and I ordered the hamburger and fries which were massive and delicious and my daughter ordered the salmon with rice that she thoroughly enjoyed! But they didn't have the flavor requested! Disaster. A customer said tiramisu was a house specialty, and the young lady behind the counter agreed that it was her favorite. Even though tiramisu is a gamble with a new crowd, I went for it. It was one of the most delicious, perfect cakes I've ever had. That any of us had ever had. It's what all other tiramisu wishes it could be. Good price, too. I 100% will get my next cake there.”

My order was taken quickly and when the food came out it was hot and exactly what requested.Now for the food! I had the Salmon and Mash dinner. When I say the salmon was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Additionally, the portion was HUGE!!!! My date had the Steak and Mash dinner! Again, the steak was cook to perfection and seasoned perfectly. And once again the portions are large.Lastly, the drinks!!!! Were amazing and the bartender was too!!!! I strongly recommend you ask for Rose as she is knowledgeable, professional, and beautiful (not that that really matters) but I say all that to say this... Circa1890 is a full package. Overall, we had a positive experience.

Parking is shared with other businesses in the plaza, but there are plenty of spaces available, including room for larger vehicles and tractor trailers.

When we first arrived, one of the employees seemed a bit intense. He encouraged us to take our time looking over the menu, but remained nearby while we reviewed our options. My friend also felt somewhat rushed while placing an order. As the visit continued, the atmosphere became more relaxed and the service felt more comfortable.

The portions were extremely generous. We ordered the goat with chapati, which reminded us of roti, and two people were able to share it and leave satisfied. We also shared the king fish with rice, which was very good and still provided leftovers. Another member of our group ordered the tibis with spaghetti, and that portion was large enough to take some home as well. Although the menu described the tibis as spicy, we found it to be fairly mild.

The food was flavorful, the portion sizes offered excellent value, and there was plenty of seating available. While the service could have been warmer at the beginning of our visit, the quality of the food and the generous portions made for an enjoyable dining experience overall.”

“This is hole in the wall chinese, but the food is damn good! Not really a place to sit and stay, but I am telling you this is my top chinese food spot in all of Atlanta at this point. One of my friends from New York said it's the closest to the chinese food spots from back home that he has found. All the sauces are a little lighter, I would say, like less sugary in a way that I wasn't ready for but prefer. They are affordable, and the service isn't 5 stars but isn't bad either. I recommend either the sweet and sour chicken or the sesame seed chicken just so see the difference in the sauce.”

“The menu is limited, but the selection is very good, as is the presentation and the quality of the food. Beer and wine only, but a good selections of both. We requested a sauvignon from New Zealand, and a qualtiy labeled wine was provided. My husband had the shrimp and grits. He said it was delicious. It was a bit soupy and hard to eat because the cheese was stringy, so he was doing his best to eat it with grace. Still, good. I had the salmon on a bed of wild rice with a side of brussels sprouts. It was absolutely delicous. All were cooked to perfection. The restaurant was fairly empty. We were told that a movie was being filmed there, so it may have been that the rooms were full, but the individuals were engaged in movie-making and didn't have time to stop for dinner. Overall, it was a relaxing restaurant with a lovely view. We were seated promptly. The best part of our evening was being served by Virgil. He was highly professional while being friendly. We enjoyed his company, which made the evening a special one.”
