You thought you've had it all, that Chicago couldn't possibly have yet ANOTHER banger in Wicker Park, but i'll be damned, here we are. The cracklin' shrimp is so well done, I would eat a bowl of it. Lemony, spicy, deep fried deliciousness. The half chicken was among the best I've ever had (whatever that green sauce was, was KILLING IT) not to mention my wife's elote lasagna?!?! Wow what a selection. I purchased a chocolate cupcake, two love pucks, cinnamon rolls, poppy lemon bread, baguette, and aNutella sandwich cookie. Everything was really delicious. I mean world class quality. I now plan on making regular visits to Chicago so I can load up and fill my freezer with possibly the best GF baked goods in the U.S. I’ve tried a lot.“

“Got there 15 mins before it opened and wasn’t one of the first 30 people in line, that’s when you know this bakery is going to be amazing! When I finally walked the I was greeted by the nice and knowledgeable staff. My savory dish was the bacon brioche and it was phenomenal! Crispy on the outside but soft in the inside. My first sweet bite was the salted caramel brown butter blondie brownie. It was delicious! They even let you choose a center or corner piece. My favorite pastry was the banana pudding croissant, it was even better than I thought it would be. I also got the basque cheesecake which was well prepared but the time I went they had peanut butter on it which I’m not a fan of. But I’m willing to try it again when they have a different flavor. Such a great bakery, will definitely come back.“

“Always loved their Greek pastries, they are the best, started going to them 60 yrs ago with my mom and dad. We were always going to Hellas for our parties baptisms and weddings. All our holiday needs were easily available for us. Unfortunately, we moved out to Poplar Grove, Illinois near Belvedere and have missed them greatly. “Everything about these macaroons was great. Flavor and texture were spot on. We had Pistachio, Earl Grey, Lemon Lavender and Strawberry Chocolate ones. Earl Grey is a must if you like tea flavor remotely. Store attendent was nice, friendly, and provided recs. These were the best macaroons we've had so far in Chicago. Just go in, don't hesistate!!“

“I had heard Monti's was the best place to get a Philly in Chicago, and since I've been craving one lately, I had to give it a try. I can honestly say it's the best Philly I've had in Chicago and the surrounding areas. It definitely did not disappoint.

“I am so glad I found this bread. For someone that not only has an issue with wheat and dairy but also oat, barley and rye this was such a joy to find this bread. I was skeptical at first but when I tried the bread it was AMAZING!!! The price is wonderful as well. This bread is so much better as to what you can get at your local store and also you don't have to make it. Just freeze it and then take it out and bake it! Wonderful!!! They also have the most reasonable prices I’ve seen in the city, (like pre-COVID pricing—croissants for example are $5 while other places I’ve visited are $6-10) and no tipping option, which tells me they pay their employees a living wage. It’s also a quiet, cute little oasis. I will definitely be returning.“

The woman who replied to my email request was kind, understanding and knowledgeable as she walked me through the whole process. They were clear up front about not doing heavy design work but since it's Mindy's, everything is always so good that I was here for the flavors not necessarily design. Then they suggested fresh flowers to lift the cake up and admittedly I had no idea how it would turn out. Well let me tell you all, this was the prettiest, best tasting cake I've ever had before. People stopped me as I was walking out with it to admire it. The people at the restaurant we hosted the party at wanted to know where it was from. Cakes are honestly such a center piece of a party and this cake did not disappoint. Mindy and her team are some of the best, most talented people around. “So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often.“

“Today CheSa was in my building The Franklin downtown and of course I had to support my own! I got the 4 cheese Mac/jerk chicken bowl. Not too spicy but had a nice kick. Chicken was tender. Only issue is the juice from the chicken made the Mac and Cheese runny at the bottom“
