We got a tiramisu "cookie" which had the texture of a moon pie, not sweet, just perfect in flavor. The brioche with sausage, egg, cheese paired perfectly with a coffee. “I was parking and saw a crowd of people hovering around a storefront like they were waiting for doors to open for the Nordstrom Semi Annual Sale! Thus, I had to walk over and see what all the fuss was about. Tons of people were waiting outside in the cold for pastries. I looked at the menu on the window and noticed all the pastries are gluten free and they have a large selection of vegan options! There were so many vegan options that I bared the cold trying to make a decision. I settled on the vegan brownie. The staff were all friendly and processed orders quickly. While walking, I tasted a piece of the vegan brownie. It was simply, AMAZING! I can’t wait to go back and try other vegan pastry options.“

“TL;DR - If you’re even slightly thinking about coming here, just do it. Revolution has the best beer in the city, fantastic food, and incredible staff.A lot of breweries in Chicago excel in making their one or two specialty styles of beer, and that’s it. Revolution, on the other hand, is able to guarantee high quality and incredibly drinkable beer across just about every style you can think of. I normally hate those dark, boozy, 15+% ABV beers, yet I drink every single one that Rev puts out and I love it. Their “Hero”-series IPAs will make even the biggest IPA hater second guess their hatred. And their sours (usually released during the summer) are so good, you will question how something this good can be alcoholic. Revolution doesn’t put out a beer that isn’t incredible, so you can pick a beer at random and be sure to enjoy it.Recently, the Brewpub renovated their space and, with it, re-did a lot of their menu. The space is cozy, yet upscale (the seating is significantly comfier than it once was with new plush seating). The new food is also really high quality - much higher than you would expect from a brewery. A lot of detail is put into plating and presentation (Mushrooms & Tofu, for example, looks like a piece of art), and still it tastes somehow even better than it looks. In addition to more upscale menu items, you’re also able to get a lot of that “typical” bar food here that fully delivers (pretzel, cheese curds, fries, etc.). The only gripe I could possibly have here is on the pricing of some of the food. This does not apply to the whole menu though, just some items that feel like they are priced higher than they should be (e.g. Lion’s Mane mushrooms, a starter, costs the same as the Mushrooms & Tofu, an entree, despite being significantly less food and sharing some similar ingredients. Why?!). If you can view this less as a bar and more like a nicer restaurant (which, with the renovation completed, is easy to do), then the pricing is a lot more palatable.The ambiance, food, and drinks are all great, but it’s the staff at Revolution that keeps me coming back though. They’re all so friendly, personable, passionate, and professional - they are the kind of people that make your night out feel special. My fiancé and I have celebrated birthdays, engagements, job offers, anniversaries, and so much more here because of how wonderful the staff are in celebrating and creating such a fun environment to be in. They make Revolution a place we want to go whenever we want to have a good time out. There are just too many people to name (Magnolia, Drake, Erwin, Makenna, Amy, Matt, just to name a few) - but rest assured that we love just about everyone who has served us here. So much so, that my fiancé and I are getting married here later this year!This is the easiest 5 stars I have ever handed out. I have so little to say about places that are “meh”, so the length of this review should show how much I love it here. I’ve come here at least every week for the last 2+ years, and I don’t have any intention of slowing down anytime soon. “This BBQ place is a gem in Chicago, the brisket was tender, well sliced and neatly plated with the rest of the sides. The slaw was a nice free side that I need the recipe for, slaw gets a lot of hate but this was pretty good. Pleasantly surprised we found this place and will definitely go again.“

“Visiting from Indiana for training and decided to get Greek for dinner.....man o man o man.....was this a fantastic choice!When I pulled up, it was free valet parking and I was a little confused because I didn't anticipate it being that type of fine dining experience but I was wrong.We arrived at 6ish on Tuesday and let me say we beat the crowd. Within 20 minutes of our arrival, there was a wait for seating.As an appetizer we ordered the Flaming Cheese (Saganaki) And it was phenomenal. They automatically give you a platter of toasted bread and it was the perfect accompaniment.I ordered the chicken kebab meal which came with a soup and my choice of side. I chose the lemon chicken soup and greek potatoes...my tummy was in agreement with my choices.My friend ordered the Moussuka and it was a large portion that also came with soup and choice of side...she chose the mixed veggies and they were truly delicious.We tried the dandelion greens because neither of us had had them before. They weren't my fav but my friend loved them. This was simply a matter of preference nothing more nothing less.My friend got a baklava to go because we were too full for dessert at that moment.The portions are healthy, service was top notch and the food was obviously quality ingredients. There is something for everyone on this menu!“

“OH MY GOD THIS PLACE MAKES HEAVEN. My favorites: - any of the savory meat croissants - egg sandwich - any of the meat strombolis - salted caramel donut - gingersnap molasses cookie - twice-baked almond croissant - vegan dark chocolate banana bread with pecans - Two falls ago there was this amazing apple cider bearclaw donut thing. I haven't seen it since in the pastry case, but I can still taste its awesomeness in my mouth and hope it will one day return. Everything here is so moist and magical. For me, what sets Mindy's Bakery apart from other bakeries, and makes it clear why Mindy won the Beard award for Outstanding Chef in the US, is that Mindy and crew are always working to improve their craft, always using quality ingredients and making better versions of things all the time and I respect this so much. Also, when you come in through the door, you can see everyone behind the counter, working hard, baking during open hours, and helping you pick things out of the big case in front. They are awesome. If you're from out of town, know there's rarely a line out the door on Wed, Thurs or Fri, but Sat and Sun are busy, so do what I do and bring your kindle or paper to read while you wait in line. It is always worth the wait.“

“Our party of three arrived at 4:30 pm on a Thursday, after attending a wake nearby. We were seated promptly near a floor length window that opened up to the outside. We ordered cocktails and a wonderful cheese and meat plate with crackers, fruit and jam for $22, a bargain that easily fed three people. We were also served complimentary french bread with salted butter, a nice bistro touch. We then ordered three entrees and a wonderful bottle of a Cruze-Hermitage red wine for $75, another fairly priced item. The entrees were all below $30 and each of us brought home enough for another meal. We then split the bread pudding which was also large enough to bring some home. We spent a little over 2 hours. We were never rushed and the service was well paced. During our meal, live music was played which was a ice background noise but not too loud where it interfered with our conversation. It was a wonderful meal and I high recommend this restaurant.“

The owner himself is a UCF alum just like everyone in our group, so he came to our table to introduce himself and we had a great conversation. Nowhere else in the world would I be able to find a dry cider aged in Malort barrels (Apfel Ort) and holy cow, I ordered it twice! For a more standard drink they also have lots of ciders and a few beers on tap. The fried pickles, fish and chips, burgers and fries are all top-notch. “04/02/24 - What an awesome add to the neighborhood. Teriyaki Madness is in the mall next to The Smash burger on Foster Ave. It's less than 1/2 mile from my house. I actually sampled their chicken teriyaki @ a Yelp event up in Lake Bluff @ Bernie's Book Bank. Teriyaki Madness has a store up in Gurnee, IL The teriyaki comes in 3 different sizes, Junior, regular or large. I ordered the regular sized chicken teriyaki bowl & it was more than enough for me as I had a little bit of left overs to take home. They have different options like regular or spicy chicken, chicken breast teriyaki, steak teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, tofu teriyaki & chicken katsu. Wry good seasoning w Great options. They also have appetizers like edamame, egg rolls, chicken potstickers & crab Rangoon. I was very pleasantly surprised w/the grilled chicken teriyaki served over brown rice w/veggies like cabbage & broccoli. I really enjoyed my meal & scarfed it down. I will definitely be back to try some of their other items like the steak teriyaki or chicken katsu.“

“Not gonna lie, I ended up here because my husband and I needed a quick snack, and I tried to go to Choo Choo down the street, but they were packed. When I walked in, there was a long line, and that seemed promising, plus it was moving quickly. We wanted something savory, so we ordered a ham and cheese croissant, a goat cheese and pesto croissant, and a spinach quiche. They warmed up the pastries and brought them out to our table pretty quickly. I was surprised the pastries were so good. The croissants were so flakey and delightful. The spinach quiche had a lovely crust. I completely forgot to take pictures because I was in a rush and starving, but I also saw a security sign that said no camera allowed. I wish they had more savory pastry options with meat, but the ham and cheese croissant was all they had when I visited. I did see that they had sandwiches that could be ordered, so I might try that if I am ever in the area again.“
