“Food was incredible. Entire team was fantastic. Everyone was so nice and friendly. One of the best dinners we’ve had in all our global travels. This is food made with LOVE. If we lived in Chicago, Jeong would be a staple restaurant for us.“
“Absolutely delicious, high-quality, fresh, and marinated meats!!! The side dishes are plentiful, fresh, and flavorful. The pork belly and galbi beef were tender, juicy, and melt in your mouth delicious. I can't find the words to express how delicious the pork dishes were. The service was fast, friendly, and personable. The restaurant was clean orderly, and my group left happy, full, and satisfied. If you are looking for a KBBQ restaurant to try, pick 336 each and every time.“
“Me and my friend came here on a rainy day and upon sitting down the lady working at the restauraunt brought us a warm cup of tea. She was very nice throughout our time there. The food was taken to our table pretty fast and it was all delicious my favorite were the tteokbokki and the japchae. We also got free dumplings near the end!!“
“Truly the best karaoke experience! I've been a regular here for a couple years and the staff is always so helpful and friendly. The food is top notch Korean food and the song selection is pretty great. (If you can't find the song you want they can also switch to YouTube if you ask). I want to recommend them but I also want to keep this gem for myself.“
“Great casual Korean bbq neighborhood spot. Real good value for the price. Our favorite dishes are the steamed dumplings and OG chicken. Bibimbop when had dining in so it is hot and crispy is also great. Tacos are fine and sandwiches are just ok.“
“This was the first place I tried bibimbap but hadn't been back since they changed owners. I loved the upgrade to the place and their special sauce as well as the stone bowl option which allows for the bottom rice to get nice and crispy. I'll be back to try other things on the menu. The service was good and quick as well!“
“We discovered this authentic Japanese style Korean BBQ restaurant over 30 years ago. The husband wife team make sure you enjoy your food. The chef is a highly trained Japanese chef and his skills are reflected in the exceptional quality meat choices, appetizers and soups. You could just order appetizers and be delighted but the meats are the highlight for their delicious marinades and seasonings. Real charcoal made of specialty hardwoods give the meats that unique smoky flavor. The prices will reflect the careful attention to quality and is well worth it in my opinion of 30 years of enjoying my favorite BBQ place. This is a one of a kind experience. The reason there are so many baseball photos and memorabilia in the restaurant is because this restaurant has been a favorite of every Japanese baseball player in Chicago and around the country and the owners are huge fans of baseball. This restaurant is famous in Japan when visiting Chicago.Parking: Easy street parkingKid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurant. I've been bringing my kids since they were babies“
“We’ve only tried the wings and they’re so good! Love that they’re big and actually whole. Most of the time in other places, the chicken wings are separated into drumettes and wingettes (tips are discarded) and they count them as 2 separate pcs already. But here in Crisp, they really give whole wings, with all of its parts, counted as one! We always get the 10pcs (half sassy, half bbq). The BBQ flavor is a personal favorite and the spice level for me is perfect (it’s Korean-style spicy bbq and not American-style sweet/smoky bbq btw). Fair warning though, don’t expect crispy fried chicken wings.Parking: It’s a busy street with lots of other restaurants/cafes so the paid street parking around the area is almost always full.“
“AMAZING food! Service was also top notch - friendly and attentive. Owners told stories about the food and sought out feedback from us on what to improve. They have their customers in mind and is reflective in their food. Everything we ordered was phenomenal!! Highly recommend!“
“Give this place a try when we are around the area. There are many kinds of flavors for us to choose. Since we have kid with us, we decided to try the non-spicy ones. We ordered Honey mustard, original, soy, chili and honey wings. They are crispy and delicious. Foods tasted delicious. Super fast and great customer service. Highly recommend!“
“I’m OBSESSED!!!! Food is 10/10 & so is the service. The staff always greets you as soon as you come in and there is always great Kpop music videos playing while you enjoy your meal. The food is so yummy, definitely coming back ? (I ordered the rosé cup-bokki, original Korean corn dog, and the yuja ade. It was so good, my toes were literally curling every bite and sip I took of my food) <3“
“Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“
“For our last night in Chicago, we decided to hit a couple bars and we ended up here. It was such a cute place! The atmosphere is fun and friendly. We ordered some Korean popcorn chicken and a couple cocktails. The staff was super friendly and made us laugh a bunch. Karaoke was just kicking off when we were there--Josue did a great rendition of Beautiful Soul! Would definitely recommend for a great night out. I hope that we get a chance to come back.“
“This is one of the cutest places in Andersonville! I HIGHLY recommend getting the Ancient Brown Sugar Tea, it’s deliciously sweet and my only complaint is that it doesn’t come in a bigger size. The employees are very kind and welcoming.“
“So this place is an amazing "Pocha" experience! Great social drinking vibe with amazing food. Note that the wait can be 40mins+ and it can get very packed. Now although you might wait a bit, which should give you enough time to have an order in mine, the food comes out super fast once placed. Probably took only 10mins for the food to start coming out.Highly highly recommend the Tofu Kimchi (which comes with pork belly), Spicy BBQ pork belly w/mozzarella, and the Rose Tteok bok ki.Definitely what we were looking for and they also have karaoke which we might come back to try.“
“I really really enjoyed my bulgogi bibimbap I ordered here. It took a while because as others have pointed out, it's just one person working here -- Susie. She cooks the food, serves it, and handles the cash. She for sure has tons of experience cooking the food and you can taste it; it's just a really home-y atmosphere and meal. Will definitely be coming back and sharing this place with friends!“
“Wonderful balance of flavors. Helpful service, fresh food, well kept interior. Shared a meal with my partner and the portions were generous, we both enjoyed our meal and would come back. Tried it on a whim and am pleased with the results! Definitely recommend— our favorites were the chili garlic edamame and gabli short rib.“
“best kbbq i've ever been to! got 2 meats and 1 appetizer totaling to $95 for 2 people. byob friendly. the aunties aren't as bad as some reviews make them out to be but i might just be more used to this service than non asians are.“
“Keith was an amazing server and took care of us very well, thank you.We got:the seafood pancake and it was full of flavor. Had plenty of spring onions, squid, and more. The spicy squid dish was delicious. The flavor popped and had many different fresh vegetables. The galbitang was made with fresh beef and the broth was very tasty.I'll definitely visit again.“
“Rice and Bread has been there for a long time. The original owner sold it to the current owner and he has maintained its charm. I don't think I've ever eaten American style food there because I love the Korean offerings. The food is amazing. The decor is dated but the service is wonderful. The same server has been there forever too.You get a lot of food for the money“
“I loved “Perilla” …Please do not think of this as your typical Korean BQ grill/Restaurant. This is the most excellent Korean BQ restaurant I have ever been in and I have been in quite few over the years both in Korea back in the day and in the USA…Tomba⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“My friend like to eat Korean food and he invite me to Kim’s home cooking to try Korean food. I was pleasantly surprised how tasty everything was and how quickly the staff brought us food, and most importantly, they don’t skimp on the portions. I don't know much about Korean food, but it was delicious!“
“Went to have lunch with my husband we got the meals with sides. Got chicken and waffles and side of tots, he got wings and bulgogi fries and one Thai tapioca tea. Over all it was delish. Food 8.5/10 Sauce 8/10 was flavorful but not spicy we got the Seoul spicy sauce they didn't have the bull sauce. The waffles are kinda small, it's two cut in half and each half was one bite. Ratio of waffles and chicken was not hitting. Service was eh, the nice cashier seemed new and asked us to repeat several times and or didn't know what was in the meal options. It was cold in the restaurant we dined in, hate being cold when eating. Personal preference. Would definitely go back. Wish there was an option to toss the chicken in sauce versus dipping.“
“I had the beef bulgogi and it was great. The meat itself was tasty and it was a good combination of fresh ingredients like salad, soy beans and things. Felt healthy and very satisfying at the same time. The curly fries were great, too, but I’m sure they were not healthy! Prices seem very fair for the quality of the food and preparation.“
“Incredible food with friendly staff and an excellent atmosphere. The smells alone in this restaurant are mesmerizing. As soon as you walk in, you were hit with the smell of delicious Korean spices. You immediately see a cozy interior with plenty of seating, and even a few couches.Food is really high-quality, and the quantity for the price is perfect. We got a ton of food ranging from chicken tacos to spicy pork tacos to Bulgogi elote quesadillas. We also got several sides such as their sweet potato fries, kimchi fried rice, and kimchi slaw. We even got some green grape Soju.I would say the only letdown dish for this sweet potato fries. Nothing fancy, and it’s the Seoul sauce that really makes that dish good. Everything else was absolutely incredible. Perfectly balanced, suite and spicy tacos filled with the umami from the fried rice. Here’s a food, hack I really enjoyed. Eat the kimchi slaw and the kimchi fried rice together.Overall, incredible spot with absolutely delicious food! I will definitely come back here several times in the near future.Vegetarian options: All of their items can be made without meat, or with tofu instead of meat.“
“Kong Dog is a unique take on a hot dog and very creative. We had the Cheetos and Potatoes half and half dog. Both were fresh, tasted good and had incredible cheese pull from the cheese portion. It is certainly a speciality kind of a place rather than a quick stop in for a "regular" meal however.“
“Small but cozy. We got there around 7:30pm. The place was pretty much full the whole time until we left. Very few tables for seating. We ordered the fire chicken with cheese. I highly recommend the fire chicken. The cheese is not necessary but get it if you like it. I was surprised by how delicious the chicken was. It was marinated just right. Spicy but tasty. I would order a bowl of rice or two to eat with it. It was enough for two people. Most of the menu prices felt a little bit pricey. I would definitely come back to get fire chicken though.“
“Food was great. Traditional Korean food. (Pot stickers was not that great. Very thin)The place itself is very small and they have packed way too many chairs into this place. No elbow space. They would only seat you if your entire party is there. We were 5. But there isn't really a place for us to wait without being right on top of some other diners tables. A bit awkward.“
“My best, all-time favorite and go-to Korean BBQ ever throughout many years!! Could never express how much I love the food and the service here. Up until now, no place can match the marinated galbi they have here, as long as their kimchi soup. Highly recommended!!“
“Manna is comfort food at its peak. My bf and I found this restaurant when we were exploring the burbs and it left us happy all day long. Service: - Service was super quick and all the aunties were so sweet. They were really attentive throughout the entire time that we were there. - We really really loved the side dishes and we were so nervous to ask for more but they gave us extra because they saw how much we liked it. And as starving college students, that means the whole world. Food: - We got their Gamjatang (Spicy Pork Bone Soup) for both of us and honestly, the serving was more than enough. We didn't expect to both feel full but there was so much meat in combination with the veggies and rice and we were both beyond satisfied. - Broth was really rich and there was such a deep flavor with every bite. We drank the entire thing until there was nothing left. - Side dishes were not just sides in this meal. I loved that there was such a large variety of options that were offered. Our favorites were the pickled seaweeds (I swear its the best that I have ever had) and the Kimchi radish. Ambiance: - This spot is tucked away in the suburbs and it feels just like that. The interior is designed as if you were in your grandmother's home. While we were there, we saw a group of dads, uncles, and grandpas just gathering to have a meal. And it was just so heartwarming to see and this spot is the perfect spot for family and friends gathering. I wish I lived closer because I would definitely be a regular.“
“what can I say, my son and I love this place. we have literally tried every dish on the menu we absolutely love it. The employees are great very respectful. we get our food quickly I guess. my favorite dishes are the fire bowl or the tenders“
“All food we ordered is made with care. The budijigae’s flavor and the aesthetics; the cost is cheap and filling for two people. We also ordered the sweet oriental and spicy chicken wings that came with a choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing dipping sauce. The wings were sooo crispy and crunched under each bite and were also super flavorful. We also ordered the tonkatsu burger with fried eggs and it came with super crispy tater tots. Everything was delicious and went well with the peach beer ordered. We will come again!“
“I actually found this restaurant by accident looking up kimchi but when I saw the photos, I had to try it. They did not disappoint. First of all, everyone was nice--the service was friendly and gracious. We tried many things but my favorite was the beef fried rice and ribeye bulgogi. If you are searching for authentic Korean fare, definitely check them out.“
“Also known as Asawon, my family has been coming to Peking Mandarin for decades. This is one of the few remaining classic Chinese-Korean restaurants that serve a lot of Chinese-American food and a handful of Chinese-American dishes that are enormously popular among Koreans. They also serve excellent champong, a classic spicy seaweed soup that is not too dissimilar to menudo, sans the tortillas. The trio of dishes we usually get are the spicy chicken wings aka lollipop wings (also available in boneless pork here), sweet and sour chicken (tan sauce, vs. the orange sauce in the American Chinese version), and black bean noodles. Last time we also threw in Mongolian Beef, which was surprisingly outstanding. Not sure if it was just a lucky day but the beef was infused with a smoky wok hei, unlike most Mongolian Beef dishes that are usually kind of watery and bland. I also like the black mushrooms & tofu, a classic Chinese American dish. The popular wings can sometimes be a little overcooked but the thick spicy sauce is usually on point. The primary competitor, Great Seas down the street, might have slightly better wings in a thinner more nuanced sauce, but the black bean noodles here are more generously sauced and slightly better, I think. I go back and forth between which restaurant that I prefer. My spouse prefers Great Seas wings but my family prefers Peking Mandarin for the other dishes and overall. They have large tables and are used to serving large groups, especially on weekends. The service is just fair and can be almost non-existent when they are busy. Be patient and bring cash. The decor is outdated but people here are regulars who come for the food, not to be impressed by interior design. This is one of the Chicago pillar restaurants devoted to food, not trends. I feel like those keep closing - let's keep this one open.Parking: Parking can be tight - we usually manage to find a spot in the diag spaces on St. Louis south of Lawrence.“
“If you like bulgogi beef this is a good place to enjoy it!I had dinner here and the food was really good, the restaurant clean and the service very friendly. The place has parking spaces and the restaurant looks quite cozy inside.I recommend it.“
“Do yourself a favor and grab some friends for karaoke and Korean food at AGIT. A group of us went on a Saturday night and we had a karaoke room for 2hrs. Depending on the size of your group they may add a few chairs in so everyone can fit. Once you're in your room you can start with the karaoke session and in the corner of the TV tells you how much time you have left of your session. They also have instructions on the wall for how to use the remote to choose songs and how to use the control. You can press a button and a staff member will come and wait on you. We ordered a handful of stuff to share family style. We had the bulgogi, fried chicken, seafood pancake, tteokbokk. There was plenty of food to go around and everything I ate was enjoyable. It was so much fun being in a private room and eating delicious food. I wish they would have had plates instead of the paper boats because you can't fit much in the boat and maybe some serving untensils for the dishes. But minor things I could look past. They are located in a strip mall so there is plenty of parking avaliable.“
“It's the most delicious food I've had on a business trip to the US. The galbitang is more delicious than any galbitang restaurant in Korea. These days, there are no such large and delicious king dumplings even in Korea. I travel to many cities in the U.S. on business trips, but I always worry about food when I come to Chicago, and now I've finally found a good restaurant.“
“To start I’m Korean, my family is in Korea, and I love food. To the ones who said the food was bad or mediocre, stay in the HMart food court or whatever tiktok ramen yall wanna make. The obvious hate is so undeserved. This place always delicious. Brought a big group of coworkers here to try kbbq for the first time. The aunties were super helpful and let us individually box things up to go when we couldn’t finish. They were so polite and patient with us because we didn’t know what we wanted.Dietary restrictions: There’s no cheese, dairy and meatless optionsParking: There’s a parking lot but it’s not very big because you’re in a busy area. There’s plenty of side and street parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Front door entrance is ground level“
“Ordered in for lunch! The first time, I had a Bibimbap bowl, and it was delicious! The second time, we ordered two ramen bowls. I would say when it comes to ramen, stick with downtown Chicago. The egg was not marinated, just a cooked egg, not a variety of veggies, and the noodles are generic store noodles. For the pork belly you receive about 4, 1 inch pieces of grey meat. No char, crunch, or savory meat.“
“Long overdue review of THE best korean bbq in all of Chicago. Pretty much everything is good but the galbi and spicy pork are the best of the bunch. I make a trip down from the city at least once every two weeks for the food here. Aside from the food, the service is also great, with everyone very welcoming whenever we go. Went again today. Will probably go again next week.“
“Went here with my boyfriend for a quick bite to eat for a light lunch on a Saturday! Their menu is small but still has options, I was able to get their bento box with California and Spicy tuna sushi rolls and udon soup and let me tell you it was perfect meal! My boyfriend got there chicken teriyaki bento box and with miso soup and it smelled and tasted amazing! Will be back for sure! Make sure you go and check this couples cute sushi restaurant!“
“During many of my reviews, I left my camera bag on the restaurant floor because I didn't want to disrupt their business by pulling up a chair for another table. However, the server here gave me an extra chair and took care of my camera bag. I've never experienced such hospitality in a restaurant before. And when I needed something, all I had to do was raise my hand, and the server would come over to me. -Seafood Jjampong Stew: It was really good. However, I wish they had more seafood. -Oden Soup: it was on the house. Even my daughter, a picky eater, said it was excellent. My personal opinion is that the service was top notch and the flavors were good enough to give this place a 5 star review. If you're a fan of Korean food, this is a must-visit on your next trip to Chicago.“
“Great food very fresh and plenty of protein!I've had beef and chicken bulgogi Only bad side no banchan sides at allHad to order a small side of Kimchi for $3 .. considering the plates are $15 or $16 it should be included otherwise everything else is great, have been here 3 times now during my lunch time“
“I have eaten in at the Logan Square location and have gotten delivery from the River North location. This is my go-to Asian restaurant and the food is delicious. The kalbi is savory, tender, and sweet. Tastes as fresh as off the bbq. You can’t go wrong with the spicy pork belly or the bulgogi, either! Delivery is amazing, and eating in is equally amazing. Incredible food at reasonable prices. Huge fan—highly recommend!“
“Plenty of space. The online orders being picked up were ready as soon as everyone arrived. I placed a carry out order. I was given great customer service and experienced great hospitality by the host as I waited for the food. The food was fresh and everything I imagined.“
“Really delicious food, and plenty of it! I ordered the goat soup, which is a big bowl of soup to begin with, and it came with rice, kimchi, and a turnip(?). I was not a fan of the turnip, but the kimchi was delicious, and I really liked the rice and soup together. The vibe here is very much that of a food court inside a mall, because that's what it is. There are mall noises, at least two different kinds of music playing from different directions, shoppers walking by. You order, get your food at counter, and bring your tray back to the same counter when you're finished. The cashier at the counter is friendly and polite. Get the goat soup! You'll be glad you did!“
“Sooo fantastic! I asked for wonton soup..Korean wings & spring rolls. I'll say that I will be a FOREVER customer now..the wings were the BEST I've ever had,so crunchy and the seasoning was spot on~the flavor was mmmmMMmm also ,the soup tasted like it was JUST made.. i was really happy when i saw that i was given rice as well! ..most importantly for me, this food was REALLY clean and by that I mean -ingredients that were selected & prepared with intent..no "after taste" no grease..just delicious homemade honest food! Thank you!Parking: Wouldn't ever be an issue“
“This is a decent and authentic Korean restaurant in Katy. The food quality is fairly high. I tried stone pot spicy squid bibimbap and spicy pork soup for lunch. The former is superb and very delicious. The squid tastes fresh. Highly recommended. The second meal is less impressive. The pork is tough to chew and a bit tasteless. The soup also tastes too watery and lacks a rich flavour.Almost all customers are Koreans. Perhaps for this reason the waitress also assumes that I am a Korean. Funny that when she found out that I don’t speak Korean she immediately held back her smile. This does not seem like a great service.“
“I had a great time at this CM Chicken location. The service was excellent and the food was really good. The fries were nice and crispy with a good amount of salt. The fried chicken was really good 10/10. The playlist in the background was really good too. It really brought me back to the mid 2000s. Above all I was very satisfied with the customer service. Very kind staff and accommodating.“
“Wow !!! It's hard to find halal korean fried chicken and when i heard bonchon skokie is halal, i just rushed there and tried it for the first time and boy o boy it was delicious, i loved it. Tried drumsticks, wings and strips and spicy flavour. It was mouth watering and perfectly fried. Now this is my go to fried chicken place. Thanks guys for this halal spot. Highly recommended.“
