“This was probably some of the best rotisserie chicken I've ever had. I also had some corn grits that were amazing and the sweet potato puree. My boyfriend got the ribs and they were so tender and so flavorful. The only downside was my boyfriend said the red beans were like what you would get at Popeye's.“

You’ll thank us, I promise. 🤤 FIVE STAR REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The meal started out with a “gift from the chef.” A savory leek custard, topped with pumpkin mousse and a sprinkle of sweet & salty crunch, presented in a perfectly carved eggshell. We were given spoon bread as well, which was the lightest, airiest and creamiest corn muffin ever to cross my lips. The sommelier told us that the secret ingredient was sour cream. I guess the secret is out now! 😉 Our sommelier suggested Pinot Noir. Monty chose Belle Glos Las Alturas. Let’s just say that we started shopping for it online immediately after the first taste. It has a fuller body than a typical Pinot Noir, so smooth and juicy. Such a perfect pairing. 🤌🏼 Monty had the pecan-smoked venison tartare with celery root and mountain rose apple. The flavors and textures were out of this world! We combined a few bites of the tartare with a bit of spoon bread. Omg, I’ll say it again: Out. Of. This. World. 💥 I ordered the gnocchi "black and blue" with black truffles, jumbo lump crab and parmesan. Tender, yet slightly firm, with a delicate, pillowy texture, but the truffle took it to a whole ‘nuther level! They gnocchi’d it out of the park with this one. For dinner we shared duck three ways with Bayou Cora grits, foie gras, confit, chestnut mushrooms and cherry bounce. Y’all, I’ve had foie gras, but never before like this. An intensely flavorful silky texture that literally bursts on your tongue. It was absolutely divine. Dessert was hummingbird cake with creole cheesecake, bruleed banana and pineapple ice cream. I just don’t know what to say except the pastry chef knows exactly what she is doing!! This was definitely meal to remember with the love of my life, my favorite dining companion, and my partner in culinary escapades. I love our journey of flavorful adventures, seasoned with spice and a love that mirrors the diversity of a well-crafted menu. “Bob Boudreau and I were in NOLA for 9 nights. Three of the nights we had reservations at other places with family. Our 1st night we looked up and found Jewel of the South. We loved it so much. we asked our nephew, his medical school advisor and his wife to join us. All three lived in NOLA and had never been here. All 5 of us would definitely go back in a heart beat. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great staff. GREAT ALL AROUND! FIVE STARS for Jewel of the South.“

“Meril, Meril how I love you This is one of our favorite spots to go for date night or just meeting some friends for dinner and delicious cocktails. Service is always top-notch. We usually have a main waiter and then someone assisting with the table. But don't take that as a stuffy, uppity place to be, it's very casual and nice to have servers taking care of the table all throughout the meals. Apps: we decided to make a meal out of appetizers, and we kind of went overboard. Definitely small plates but big enough to share with leftovers if you do it right. We decided to order appetizers and make that our meal. We chose the Bacon Braised Collard Greens from the daily specials. We also chose Smoked Fish Dip, Crispy Cod Sliders, Deviled Eggs, Korean Fried Chicken Wings and Pad Thai Cauliflower For cocktails we started with English Turn(grapefruit but not sour), Tchoup(cucumber deliciousness) and Albariño(smooth white wine). All so good! It was also our 11 year anniversary and they surprised us with some cotton candy and a sparkler! Perfection!“

“Christy and Mike really run a great and welcoming establishment. Felt at home from the first beverage through the fish chowder and manchego mushroom toast (both were phenomenal). Be sure to ask the master mixologist Annalee to mix you up a tasty beverage to start your day, or finish your dining experience. Great food and great people. A must visit when in New Orleans.“

“One of the best meals I’ve had in New Orleans was at Toups! We had a charcuterie board with their house made hogs head cheese, chicken liver mousse and foie gras accompanied by house pickles. Simply incredible!! The hogs head cheese was the best I’ve ever had! I especially loved the chunkiness of it with nice pieces of tender pork! The crispy turkey necks! Oh my goodness… AMAZING! The braised lamb neck entree was exquisite with a generous portion and crispy spaetzle! Even leftover, it was great!! I also had their pork chop and applesauce cocktail which was creative and also delicious!! I highly recommend this restaurant! Great work Chef Isaac and team!“

“I visited the location on Ponchatrain in Nola last night _ I will NEVER dine in late at night - The host was outside playing with the managers dog in the parking lot - She walked in the side door and greeted me picked up the menu and NEVER sanitized or washed her hands. The server complained about it being slow- My food came out cold- The manager on duty last didn't care- They put my side dishes in the microwave They served me the same cold chicken I sent back and just put it on the grill for a few minutes. Horrible customer service experience and the quality of the food was worse.“

“Visiting NOLA for the weekend with two children. We had brunch here before going to the zoo. The food was spectacular and the staff super friendly and helpful!“

“Dinner with the ladies was amazing. Everything was fresh. Oysters! Whipped Feta but the show stopper for me was the best salad. Everyone enjoyed their selections.“

“I have visited about 5 times, and if you want to pay a mark up for a nice date night spot with decent drinks and food then Cure is a good spot with a solid ambiance.

The reason I'm giving it a 4 (would go lower but don't think that would be fair because it is a decent spot for what it is) is the happy hour. Very small pours (~1 oz) on the beer and the shot combo, the cocktails for $9 were ok, and a table of 5 was charged an auto grat (only an issue because the server didn't alert us when dropping the check off which is a huge red flag to me).

It feels like the happy hour is trying to embody more of a dive bar vibe and it's competing with way better places in the city. Not my first choice as a bar but not having to venture downtown and the large regular cocktail list are definitely pluses for Cure! Will definitely return for a date night at some point.“

“Service behind a bar is always quick and friendly with good pours. Today was an exception with one bartender coming on duty. Dropping the f-bomb as soon as she walked behind the bar. She continued her ranting saying she was leaving the business anyway and the owner was unaware. Have always liked this place because it's adults and yes we'll be back.“

“No real outside signage to inform walkers that a bar and restaurant is there. No clear entrance to bar/restaurant unless you are a guest at the hotel. Only managed to stumble across it by word of mouth. The lighting is a bit too dim, way too loud to hear the bartender, kept having to ask him to repeat himself. Really limited vegetarian options on the menu but the feed green tomato sandwich is good. The service and knowledgeable recommendations by Austin were excellent, Glenn was extremely nice and helpful.“

“The staff at One11 Hotel and Batture Bar were incredibly accommodating. Their professionalism and expertise was extremely helpful during the setup and execution of my wife’s surprise party! The loading dock proved to be an excellent location for a party! The outside area, with the pool and fire pit was incredibly beautiful. The rooms were exquisite, clean and well decorated. The staff member Anna was very friendly and did a A+ job shucking 3 dozen oysters that were perfectly done… clean and left the liquor in them. I was so pleased I tipped her $30 separate from the tip on the check / server. I just wished we lived there so we could return frequently. BIG Thank you for your hospitality. “I have been coming here for 20 years or close to it. I love the hamburgers, garbage can nachos, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, spinach and shrimp quesadillas, ribs, and recently discovered the Baja taco with salmon this summer. That’s my favorite go to meal now!!! I usually got a margarita on the rocks with dinner. But changed it up with a watermelon daiquiri with tajin on the rim. Delicious! This was one of my mom’s favorite places too. I sure miss going there with her sharing a hamburger together and having margaritas. Great neighborhood restaurant.“
