“I love the hot cocoa from Dolci Gelati at the National Zoo for Zoo Lights. I bought 1 for me and 1 for a friend & went back again for a second night for more on the last night of Zoo Lights. “This place is wayyy too expensive for me to go here but my girlfriend looooves their ice cream more than she loves me, so I've been here a few times. I don't like flavored ice cream that much so I usually get plain (not vanilla!) when I get ice cream, but you shouldn't do that at this place. The flavors actually add to the ice cream instead of take away from it. The texture is good too, but that's true of a lot of places.

So I would say, yes, go here if you can afford it. And if you like ice cream.“

I can’t believe the amazing and wonderful place I “found” today when I finally made the bold decision to try something different. “I was searching the universe for lavender honey ice cream as a special treat for Valentine’s Day. My wife and I had it a million moons ago in Palm Springs and we loved it so much. I came across Moorenkos and met Susan who is so, so nice. She was able to get me a nice supply of the lavender honey ice cream and we also stocked up on cinnamon cappuccino. Omg! “Lulabelle’s is an absolute gem in Petworth. They hands down have the best coffee on the block, their espresso drinks are soooo delicious and you should try the cold brew on tap! The ice cream is to die for, hands down best ice cream in DC and the pastries and other foods are creative and delicious. My personal favorite are the injera crisps and the little fridge full of artisan cheeses!

Julie the owner is a hard working and good hearted person who is a pillar of the petworth community and all the others who work there are kind and welcoming.

“Having seen Ice n Slice on Instagram, I ordered a doro wat pizza and cheese pizza for the kids.

Both pizzas had a nice yeasty crust. The cheese pizza was actually very lovely. The tomato sauce was slightly sweet with a little nod to Ethiopian spices.

The doro wat pizza drew us in. Obviously you can’t get much more creative (or iconically dc) than a doro wat pizza. There were pieces of chicken baked into the pizza, as well as little crumbs of feta. It was rich and succulent, heavy without being over the top.

The pies held up well through the drive home to the suburbs. That being said, both pizzas were $64, which while definitely worth it, is a little steep to become a frequent occurrence.

If you ever go I would recommend the banana pudding with some cookies and cream it won’t disappoint. On top of that the customer service was amazing the lady had a little conversation with us about our day and even gave my son some Oreo’s. On top of all of that the price was just 12.58!
