“Granted I haven't been to their restaurant locations, their pop-up location that features their food truck in Forestville Plaza is where my mom was blessed to bring some of their food home for the family to try. Quick story, one weekend I was driving by with her in my vehicle and suddenly we smelled a delicious aroma as well as saw smoke coming from the grill. She noted the place in her mind this weekend she was able to venture there. She relayed that they had a good amount of customers ordering food but the personnel was so patient, kind, and helpful. She brought home some grilled chicken, lamb, jollof rice, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. Majority of the meat and jollof rice was in one container, but altogether enough to feed a family of three people with huge appetites. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was their grilled chicken! It paired nicely with their mustard sauces, especially the hot mustard sauce! They also have The most unique and delicious joloff rice I've ever tasted in my life! The taste of Senegal cannot be compared! I've tried other West African food, but Senegalese food stands out like no other! Originally, Ivorian food was my favorite, but now I can add Senegalese food to my new list of favorite West African food! You have to try it - you won't regret it! I look forward to going to one of their restaurant locations!”

“Since Eastern Gourmet has opened it has become our go-to for great Chinese takeout. We have ordered an extensive amount of the menu and there aren't any dishes that haven't blown us away. The food is amazing, the service is attentive, and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.”

“From the moment I stepped into RJ Bentley’s for Happy Hour, I had no idea my life was about to change. But one bite into their signature dish, and it felt like the world stopped spinning. The flavors hit me like pure magic- buttery King’s Hawaiian rolls, juicy chicken fried to perfection, and a nice combo of ranch AND blue cheese on the side. It was as if each ingredient was a spell, cast to awaken my tastebuds from slumber.

“While traveling the last 6 years in an RV throughout the USA and Canada I must admit....this is one of the best BWW 's that we have been to. Clean and very welcoming. Great bartender. Extremely observent of any one in the bar area. This girl is always on her game. I've never been a big fan of the boneless wings but these were perfectly done. Not over or under cooked. Just the right amount of breading and the "limited time only" Buffalo Bleu sauce was amazing. Of course the Parmesan Garlic was excellent. My wife had an excellent Buffalo Chicken salad. Half of that went home for lunch the next day. I asked for the manager, Beverly, before leaving....she is probably the most appreciative and concerned manager we've ever met. Great job to the staff!!”

“After moving from Florida I have been tirelessly searching for a good taco place in Maryland. I was so happy to find Tacos A La Madre! When you go inside it is very under decorated, but clean and they have a good sense of branding with their black and yellow color scheme. The tacos are amazing, flavorful, and consistent every time I go. The ingredients taste fresh. If I had to choose a favorite, it would be the shrimp tacos and the birria tacos! 🌮 This is our new go-to taco place. You have to go- you won’t be disappointed.”

I ordered the beef noodle soup and was disappointed to find only two pieces of broccoli—was hoping for a few more veggies.

“I’m fairly new to road biking and had just bought a new to me road bike from FB Marketplace. I had sent an email through their contact form which Laurie answered and gave me enough reason to bring my bike to Proteus. I brought my bike in this past Saturday. The first person that greeted me was Paul. He checked over my bike and let me know that my bike was really in great shape and made a few minor adjustments that he didn’t charge me for. He replaced my seat and clipless pedals with flat pedals. Literally everyone in that shop made me feel comfortable and welcome. Laurie, Jeff, Duncan, Andy, Paul, yall are amazing and made me feel at home. I live in DC, but Proteus is my go to bike shop now!”

“I tried to go to this location only. It is the original. If you'll notice the other restaurants are Ledo's with an S at the end. Similar signage. Similar pizza. But not as good as THE one on Knox Road. If you can go there you won't be disappointed. Parking meters.

2024 UPDATE -- apparently Ledo's did do the right things when they franchised. So I feel like I could go to any of them. I don't think I've had any bad pizza there. Always tasty!”

“coffee does not disappoint! delightful coffee shop with a lovely environment to work on a laptop between chats with friends :) i recommend asking the barista for their favourite pastry and trying it! i got a pistachio pastry of some sort that was easily the best pastry i’ve had in town. the hot honey cinnamon latte pulls just the right balance of bitter and sweet that adds fragrance to flavour.

“I’ve been to Tokoa about a dozen times now and every time I order their house cheesesteak. The problem is that this house cheesesteak changes about twice a month. I’ve seen it go from “The Steak” to “TK Cheesesteak” a handful of times now. With every name change, the sandwich itself changes too.

Last month, when it was “The Steak”… Holy Jeebus. It was probably the greatest meaty amalgamation one could ever ask for. It had tender, perfectly seasoned chunks of steak, lettuce, tomato, house sauce, melted garlic butter and it was topped with fried onions. I must’ve ordered this sandwich about 5 times in the span of a week or two. I even made a fool of myself and tried to order a large size (which they didn’t have for this version). I would do anything for that sandwich.

As of this month, it’s back to the “TK Cheesesteak”. This is your typical thinly-sliced steak with provolone and the usuals. Is it more true to a real Philly cheesesteak? Sure, and it’s still a pretty damn good one.

But nothing compares to “The Steak”.

I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, but it’s clear that the food here is made-to-order, super fresh, and sprinkled with love. Good stuff.”

“I am not sure if the kiosk is not reliable or it's user error. I have tried twice to use it but the second time I focused on accurately adding the amount of sugar I wanted but it didn't go through because the barista served my coffee with no sugar and looking at the receipt it didn't have any sugar amount. She begrudgingly added the sugar for me.The coffee is always tasty.”

“I would love to give a standing ovation to vaynia she made things smoother during a rush I can see. However whoever is her manager locks the bathroom door and is highly rude. Vanynia and excuse if I spell her name wrong; was the star. As a customer asking to use a bathroom and you have it lock with and employees only sign. With inside eating? The only reason why I give four star s is for Vanynia. She was the most polite. I would recommend her for a promotion but she doesn’t deserve dealing with your previous managers bullshit”

“After sampling several places when we moved to the area, this is by far our favorite place for Chinese food take-out. I was on a quest for the best boneless spare ribs and so far this is it. The quality has been consistent and delicious. We order for delivery frequently and of course stop by anytime we're at the game shop in the same plaza.

I'll use pork fried rice (my husband's staple order) as an example. You won't find tiny little scrap bits of pork here.. no, no - you'll get actual pieces. The vegetables - an often overlooked and disrespected part of any takeout menu - actually have color to them and still look fresh. The rice still has some life left in it instead of being hard, oily, and overcooked. It feels like genuine care was put into assembling this classic dish that so many other establishments just phone in.”
