“Mita Cafe is super cute! This small cafe offers both Ethiopian and Japanese eats, in addition to breakfast, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, smoothies, and juices. While in the area, we decided to try them out, and ordered: +a Strawberry with Mango smoothie - prepared with mangoes, strawberries, and bananas, made with either your choice of apple or guava juice; we opted for the latter +an order of Spicy Lentil Samboosas - they also have spicy chicken as a filling, too; these are larger than the usual sized sambusas; super crispy, but I thought the filling was way too spicy! +a Tokyo Sushi set - this came with 4 pieces of salmon nigiri, a tuna nigiri, a red snapper nigiri, a roll of salmon maki, and a roll of tuna avocado maki; I really enjoyed the salmon nigiri, and most likely will opt for requesting these only; wasn't really a fan of the maki rolls, as one that contained 'baked salmon' tasked like it was from a tin I'd love to try their paninis next time and get more of their salmon nigiri. I'd also like to try their drinks. Service was very friendly and kind! There are only about 4 tables inside, so most seem to get their orders to go, or there's a queue to get one of the tables. “If you are looking for a place with great view and atmosphere, look no more. Moonraker is a nice spot in Wharf. The atmosphere is amazing with great cocktails options. The outdoor seatings are not too conjusted so that you dont have to worry about what others might hear of your business dealings.Food is good but not exceptional (not that i was there for), the drinks menu are seriously unique and i cant wait to go back to try the rest.“

They have an vast understanding of the meals they are preparing for you, and they only use premium cuts. Literally the meat melts in your mouth, it was sooooo good. They made me feel like I was family, they new what I wanted when I walked in, and they remembered our previous conversations from nights prior and were very engaging. “The hubby and I came here on Sunday, 3/24/2024, when we arrived the restaurant was basically empty, so we were sat right away and asked where we wanted to sit. Our server brought over water right away and soon after we ordered a California roll (me) and the hubby got one unagi sushi for a dollar (a special). The California roll was fresh, well rolled and really delicious, my husband said the same for the unagi. My husband also got the chicken thigh yakatori for three bucks, it was brought out hot, tender and delicious. For our entrees, we both got Tonkotsu, we added an extra egg and shared it, so we would each have one full egg in our ramen instead of just a half. The Tonkotsu was fire, the broth was hot and buttery, egg perfectly cooked and yolky, the pork was tender and flavorful and overall just great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. One final note, service was great and friendly!“

The chicken was well seasoned and the mentaiko sauce adds some good color and sweetness to contrast the saltiness. The textured crispiness of the shrimp worked well to add some variation in texture. The eel was large and soft and the salmon had some beautiful marbling as well. In addition, there was some wasabi that seemed to be a mix of the root and horseradish as well as some pickled vegetable to provide some much needed contrast to the fried food. “This restaurant currently only has takeaway or order. Waiting outside for your takeaway is a bit odd experience but don’t let it put you off. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. I had teriyaki. I hope for this place that they can open completely again.“

“Our group of 6 had 5pm reservations on a Saturday. The restaurant doesn't open until 5pm and we got there about 30 minutes early. This restaurant shares the same building with another restaurant called LaVie so they suggested we sit at laVie's bar until our 5pm reservation. We declined. At 5pm we were seated at our table. The restaurant itself had nice views of the DC wharf. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. IThe edamame appetizer was so good, as well as the meat pizza and calamari. I had scallops for a main dish and for me it was just ok. My preference are scallops that are more seared but I think it's just a matter of preference. The best thing on the menu to me were the desserts and drinks. My Mocktail was delish. It was almost 800 dollars for 7 people. So over 100 dollars per person. Typical for the area and the service fee will definitely be included. Two cons: it was my son's birthday and in my humble opinion you're not too fancy to acknowledge with a free mini dessert or ice cream. LaVie did when we celebrated my daughter's birthday a couple of years back. We did get an acknowledgment from the manager though. Also my daughter ordered the wrong drink and they took it back and gave her the drink she wanted but they still charged for the original drink. I could understand if it was alcohol but it was a mocktail. Jeez. Will I go back? For the desserts, appetizers and the correct Mocktail yes.“
