“We love Oyster Mania Mondays at Pearl Dive! We make it a regular date night outing to indulge in dozens of half-priced, delicious, fresh, and cold oysters sourced from various locations. Additionally, I always order the incredibly tasty mussels served with toasted baguette slices to soak up all that delicious sauce. The staff consistently delivers friendly and attentive service too, which makes each visit enjoyable.“
“Service is very attentive, if not completely knowledgeable of what exactly their menu offerings are trying to achieve (it's kind of a blend of local with New Orleans, we gathered). We are not huge fans of several of the menu offerings, so of course, our ratings reflect that. Oysters, duck, and several N.O. options were just not our thing. We were mostly there for the drinks & ambiance, which were top shelf. Bottom line, go for the traditional & reimagined Louisiana fare, excellent libations and good times.“
“I’d recommend this place just based on the food itself. I had calamari and a regular lobster roll with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! But the staff is what made Georgetown Seafood special. Right when we walked in (out of a huge rainstorm), a staff member put a towel by the door for us to place our umbrellas on while another staff member immediately found us a table to seat our big group. They took the time to make us feel like VIPs, even down to the extra treats they offered to us after our meal! The place is small, has steep/narrow stairs to the upper level (where the bathroom is located), but even with that I would 100% eat here again and again. Thanks Georgetown Seafood for a wonderful experience!!“
“Very welcoming and attentive staff, server and manager! Finding "hidden gem" restaurants is one of my favorite things. Stan's DC Restaurant is below street level, down some steep stairs.I ordered wings based on reviews...and wow, they were HUGE and tasty, lightly fried without being greasy. The barbeque sauce on the side was very tasty. *Keep in mind, 8 whole wings is really 16 traditional.*My wife enjoyed her ribs as well. The Ciroc Obama...whoa. Served as a tall glass of flavored vodkas with ice, plus a sidecar of OJ. That'll do the job. My Old Fashioned was tasty too.Overall, a nice find. Reasonably priced, good food, locals lively vibe with friendly service.“
“The ambiance and food was immaculate! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made appropriate food recommendations for our party. I enjoyed the Shrimp Thermidor as a starter and Cumin Lamb as my entree. They were both delectable, I can't say one was better than the other. I'm ready to go back!“
“Went there upon my arrival in Washington from overseas. As seen with the eyes of a European, this is a typical Wash. restaurant : large with a good touch of luxury, although bit noisy and with that slightly odd style hard to define. They serve a very good food in US size quantities which is to say more than enough. Quite a good experience. Service was standard.“
“Our waitress Isabella was so wonderful and sweet! We came for my brothers 21st birthday and she gave us amazing service! She was so good about our allergies and special requests. The food was good, seafood tower was really nice, scallops and risotto was quite salty. But the steak ravioli that Isabella suggested was amazing!“
“A+ for service and atmosphere! The live music/flamenco dancing was vibrant and delightful. The wait staff were friendly and attentive. As for the food, it was a hit or miss. For the tapas, the whisky pork tenderloin with potatoes was cooked well but the sauce had an odd tang to it. It may be an acquired taste and not for everyone. The grilled eggplant was soggier than expected and I don’t think I’ll get it next time. The Serrano ham and manchego cheese appetizer on the other hand, was absolutely scrumptious! The chicken and seafood paella (the reason why we chose this restaurant) was a big let down…the dish was way too salty and I couldn’t fully enjoy it without downing water. The chicken and mussels/clams however, were tender and cooked well. The churros and chocolate dip for dessert were divine.“
“My husband made a reservation for my birthday dinner and the food, service and atmosphere was exceptional. Our server Francisco was top notched and very professional in detailing the menu and offering suggestions on drinks and food. A must go to when in DC, you won’t be disappointed.“
“I come to this restaurant a few times a month. The place is very exceptional. It has great food that can be an alternative to typical fast food places. If you tire of fast food, I recommend people should come here.Have you tried their fried chicken?“
“The food is amazing, and the drinks are really good. Happy hour is the best time to go, but just know service will be awful, and 20% service charge will be added to the bill regardless. If you can overlook that aspect, you will enjoy yourself“
“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Los Caballeros for their weekend brunch and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles from the staff and the owner himself. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting and had a laid-back vibe, perfect for a lazy weekend brunch. Now let's talk about the food. Los Caballeros proved to be a pleasant surprise. They were able to accommodate options for vegetarians, vegans, and pescatarians. But what truly stole the show for me were the drinks. I highly recommend trying their pitcher of tamarindo margarita. It was the perfect blend of sweet and tangy, and definitely hit the spot. They also had other options like mimosas and bloody marys for those who prefer a classic brunch drink. The owner, who was also our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He made sure we were enjoying our meal and even gave us some recommendations for their signature dishes. It was evident that he takes great pride in his restaurant and wants his customers to have a memorable experience. To end our brunch on a sweet note, we decided to try their dessert. And let me tell you, it was the perfect ending to a perfect meal.Overall, my experience at Los Caballeros was exceptional. From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was top-notch. I highly recommend checking them out for their weekend brunch or even for a regular meal. The owner and his team have truly created a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for their customers. So next time you're in the mood for some delicious food, head over to Los Caballeros and treat yourself to a delightful brunch. You won't regret it.Parking: This area of parking gets very busy due to being right beside the area of the Capitol.“
“We dropped in for a late lunch and were fortunate to get a table (reservations strongly recommended.) Absolutely perfect! I had the Seared Salmon with Mediterranean Couscous, Asparagus and Heirloom Tomatoes. My wife had Roasted Chicken with Mushroom Parmesan Risotto. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was exemplary—Manuel took great care of us and presented his business card so that we could ask for him next time we visit.“
“This is the 2nd time we’ve eaten at a Milk and Honey cafe…this time it was Bowie…food was really good and our server, Erica, was outstanding!!! Was there with my 2 sisters so we talked a lot but Erica never made us feel rushed. Great experience all around!!!“
“In love with this restaurant went the first time for Restaurant week . I felt in love with their ceviche. My husband and I are coming every Friday since for birria tacos , ceviche and margaritas!Everything is amazing from the Birria omelette to the flan. I can recommend enough this amazing place !!“
“The food here is AMAZING. I'm actually glad this place is far from me and on the expensive side because if it was closer and cheaper I'd be eating here constantly. My table got the waygu egg rolls, Mac and cheese, broccolini, Hawaiian steak, jerk crab cakes, and the jerk lollipop chicken. All of it was on point. Drinks are pretty expensive for what you get. That was probably the only disappointment. Music is a little loud for my liking but it is a minor nit in an absolutely amazing experience.“
“Today, we were incredibly fortunate to visit a unique restaurant, Monocle, located on Capitol Hill. We initially chose it due to its proximity to our hotel, but it turned out to be a true "Washingtonian gem." Opened in 1960, this restaurant has been operated by the same family ever since. The menu is concise, which we believe highlights the culinary excellence presented in merely five dishes. We were in search of "authentic American steaks from real American beef from real American cows." What we received far exceeded our expectations. Both steaks we ordered were exquisitely prepared to perfection. We both agreed that these were the best steaks we've ever had the pleasure of eating in our lives. #MasterpieceAs if the meal itself wasn't enough, our server, Marinos Apostolopoulos, provided us with a genuine journey through the history of this establishment. We are deeply grateful!Given its location near the Capitol, the restaurant has been visited by at least half of American politicians over the last 60 years, including Presidents Nixon, Kennedy, Bush, and Clinton. Celebrities like Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, among other incredible individuals, have also frequented this place. The number of VIPs and their dedications displayed in their own photos hanging on every wall is truly astonishing. One of the servers celebrated his 50th work anniversary here two months ago with a surprise party for 250 people, an event that was featured on the front page of the Washington Post, which we had the opportunity to read. The place is beautiful, with incredibly friendly service and excellent food. The wonderful experiences we had will stay with us forever. It's worth traveling for moments like these. We highly recommend it and would love to return someday.“
“Great place to go with friends or family cute intimate little setting staff was great we showed up with a last-minute reservation, They got us in on a Friday night. The owner is in the front of the house and he takes care of all his customers like family, highly recommend going, don’t rush and enjoy all they have to offer…“
“Ambiance is an interesting hole in the wall. We begin with the fluffy warm bread. Soft and fresh and distracting from eating. Then the octopus salad. The octopus is just right; a good sear with a bit of smoky taste, cooked through and just right. Mussels: served with a few pieces of chorizo. Not too many to blot out the flavor of the mussels, mind you. The mussels were a bit dry, this one wasn't swimming in liquid like other places so it. Always fall for the liquid, ordering extra bread to dip into it like a weirdo. Grand marnier soufflés were good. Ask about the dog biscuits!“
“Beautiful restaurant overlooking the water, outstanding service, and amazing seafood. I had read some of the reviews that were less than stellar but everything that we ordered was fantastic. We started off with their eggplant appetizer, which was full roasted eggplant -- delicious. For the main entree, I was debating between their grilled calamari and the scallops and the server recommended we share a half portion of the calamari and get the scallops. Great recommendation. The scallops were out of this world and a generous portion too. My wife's fish was delicious as well. No complaints about anything. The prices are a bit on the higher side but it's worth it when the food and the ambiance matches expectations. A definite 5 star for me.“
“Fun spot for dinner and good food. Our server was very nice, yet didn't course out our food, so we had two pasta dishes and fish show up at the same time. The octopus starter was my favorite dish. The pasta and fish were also good, but not necessarily the hottest when we ate them, given everything arriving at once“
“Sat the bar on a solo sunday funday. It's on a nice street with street vendors. I came for the food and wasn't disappointed. The she crab soup was very good. I can't tell if the base was store bought but amount of sherry was spot on. I would probably say that if I wanted she crab soup, I'd go here from here on out. They had some soft shells and they were delicious. I should have asked for capers but that's just my preference. Drinks were well made. All in all, a tasty treat. I can't speak to the dinner experience though I'm tempted to try.“
“On February 17, 2024, I had the pleasure of dining at Truluck's Ocean Finest Seafood restaurant, following a recommendation from my son who had visited two weeks prior. From the moment we arrived, the exterior design of the building beckoned us inside with its inviting allure, earning a solid 5-star rating.Inside, we were warmly greeted by the maitre d'. Despite not having reservations for the elegant dining section, we were graciously offered a seat at a group of tables in the bar area, further enhancing our initial impression with another 5-star rating.Although I typically shy away from shellfish, I was delighted to find an extensive menu offering a variety of seafood, as well as options from land and scales. This diverse selection easily earns a well-deserved 5-star rating. The ambiance inside the restaurant was truly spectacular, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. Our table server went above and beyond, providing samples of the menu items and offering detailed descriptions along with pricing information, earning yet another 5-star rating.Following her recommendations, I decided to try the yellowtail raw fish, mashed potatoes, lobster bisque, and crab fried rice. Each dish was expertly prepared, and the flavors were simply divine. The yellowtail raw fish, in particular, was a revelation for me, and I even contemplated ordering the raw salmon to compare the two dishes, solidifying a perfect 5-star rating. As we enjoyed our meal, we were treated to delightful entertainment by a talented one-man band, who sang, played piano, and entertained us with his musical prowess. The musical group, Wild Cherry would be proud to say, "Play that funky music whiteboy!?!" His performance added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience, earning yet another 5-star rating. My final thoughts, I am immensely grateful to my son for introducing me to Truluck's Ocean Finest Seafood. I eagerly look forward to future visits, knowing that each time, I will be welcomed into the same enjoyable atmosphere that made this dining experience truly exceptional.Parking: The underground layout of parking is broken down into color codes. We traveled many level underground but had to navigate in the parking area to exit. Because you need a parking permit, we had to exit in the red area which brought us up several blocks away from the restaurant.“
“It's one of the best lobster rolls I've had with a great price point. Paid 20 bucks for a roll and topped it off with a lobster tail for an extra 5 bucks. It was so much lobster ! The meat was sweet and perfectly cooked. Roll was a tad too buttery for my liking.I also got a side of clam chowder, which was really good as well. The place is small and not reccomend for large group dine-in unless you're getting it to go. It's more of an order-at-the-counter and seat yourself type of place.Writing this review is making me drool ?.I'm going to have to mark this place as my to-go every time I'm in town!If you love yourself, get yourself a lobster roll from here and add that extra tail.“
“A favorite of mine in DC. I hadn't been since before the pandemic, and was happy to see that everything which made the restaurant good was still present. A well-rounded menu, a very good wine selection with a range of price points and the always excellent service. The food is so good, and the care taken by the staff is top notch. You don't feel rushed, get to enjoy the experience. Highly recommended.“
“Wonderful experience thanks to Julia, our server, and thx to manager for visiting our table , Wonderful, great food and awesome service, made our trip from Florida seafood to DC seafood a delicious delight. Wonderful experience, thanks so very much, “
“I dropped in on an early Monday evening for take-out and had a drink while I waited. They have some pretty awesome menu items and it was quite difficult for me to chose. I opted for the veggie chimichanga. I ordered a margarita, snacked on some chips and delicious salsa and enjoyed the wait. After I dug in at home, I was pleasantly pleased with the presentation of my food along with the tastiness. It was amazing! I couldn't believe I've lived in the area my whole young adult years and never been there! Definitely a place to keep in your pocket!“
“Girlfriend and I wanted to try something new. We came across spice street and never had Indian food before. Service was amazing and food was excellent. We had the chicken curry and chicken makhani with garlic naan bread. All the food was amazing and would definitely recommend to try this place out.“
“Love the ambiance here! Very historic with a twist of modern decor! It's that winding staircase for me! Located inside the Moxy hotel, this place is super cute! We celebrated a friend's birthday over dinner! Everyone had an amazing time. The service was very good. The steak frites was delicious. Their well-crafted cocktails are excellent. Parking can be tricky, but I lucked out and snagged a spot across the street! I plan to come back for brunch!!“
“Some great food and a few misses. The oysters were great- cold, briny, and delicious. I ordered the grilled tuna off of their special spring menu and it was phenomenal. Great flavor and cooked well. The most egregious flaw was a medium-rare steak that was ordered was served medium-well. The waiter wasn’t able to provide information about what oysters were available and the bar struggled with a martini. I’ll give it another shot but expected a little more for the price and reputation.“
“Estuary in DC offered a vibrant setting for a memorable date night, with its lively music and sultry atmosphere. Sipping on the THYME OF THE SEASON cocktail, a delicious concoction of Tomcat Barr Hill Gin, Williams Pear Brandy, lemon, and thyme, I found myself immersed in the energetic ambiance of the venue. I came for a nightcap with friends after a conference but would've stayed longer if I could have. The dim lighting, high ceilings and interesting art created a dynamic atmosphere that exuded sensuality, setting the stage for a great time. Despite the lively atmosphere, the panoramic views of the city provided a captivating backdrop, adding a touch of intimacy to the experience. Whether you're looking to spice up your date night or simply enjoy a night out with someone special, Estuary in DC offers a vibrant setting and delicious cocktails that are sure to impress. A little on the pricey side, but the views don't get better. Service was ok.“
“If you like interesting, delicious food... Go here!! Spicy, flavor packed. Possibly the best restaurant in Silver Spring. The pickled mango dishes are always mouth watering. Green tea salad is bitter in a good way.Yelp messed up my order and they were incredibly understanding (I advise calling them to order directly though).“
“We came here for dinner and had a pretty good time. The host was not that friendly, but the wait staff was awesome. The half-shelled oysters were good, ceasar salad was good, and all of the deep-fried food was great. We got popcorn shrimp and calamari (size small), fried oysters (size small), and French fries; they were fresh, crispy, and not oily.“
“we went to the Vegas location and how Gordon Ramsay can put his name to the crap this place serves up is beyond belief. the batter is way to thick and over cooked and the highlight should not be the Dijon mayonnaise that comes with the food. terrible food and a waste of $39“
“This is such a hidden gem in the DMV area. It was a last minute decision to come here and I don’t regret anything! Their seafood was so fresh and the drinks are AMAZING! The servers were very sweet and friendly. We order for 4 and have so much leftovers. Even the bag that they send you home with is reusable. I would say the best cajun seafood place I had ever. You should try their house special sauce, you won’t regret it!“
“The food here is always great. I've been going for years, and not once been disappointed. They also have a great bar, where you can have a cocktail while you wait! I highly recommend their fish dishes.Vegetarian options: They offer a veggie plate.“
“Fabulous, friendly and welcoming service. Our waiter (maybe Oswin from the receipt?) was particularly good, as were all the staff that delivered wine and food throughout dinner. Excellent menu with tons of delicious, unique, gluten-free options. Great location in the heart of silver spring with easy access to public garage parking. Festive atmosphere on a bustling Friday evening. Highly recommended.“
“Bar Spero was exceptional. Far more a restaurant than a bar. Though drinks were also brilliant. The bartender Savi proved a knowledgable mixologist. If you enjoy mezcal I highly recommend the Dead Lady cocktail. The drink was smoky but well balanced and smooth enough to be dangerous. However, the drinks were only a prelude, the true fire of Bar Spero is the food. Our meal was a delightful, delicious, delectable multisensory feast.Everything was amazing from the cucumber, herb salad to the burnt cheese cake ice cream. However, my personal highlight was the seafood. I'd recently returned from a beach trip and assure you everything tasted catch of the day fresh. The raw oysters were some of the best I've had. The grilled octopus was sweet, tender and cooked to perfection, it's sauce, a squid ink reduction only emphasized the utter genius therein. Though all the seafood from Jonah Crab Rice to the Tuna Tostadas to the Ember Roasted Scallops were unforgettably delicious. The food could make a convert out of me and will out of you.Our server Blithe was personable, humorous and attentive, without hovering. Her table service was impeccable and she clearly loved her job. Though really all of the service was noteworthy. The communal feel of Bar Spero made it feel like a family. (I love that tips are split front to back of the house)It was an honor when Chef Jason came to out to our table to greet us. This man is an artist, his work practically brought me to tears of joy repeatedly.Do your self a favor and go to Bar Spero, you will thank me for it.Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and found many options on the menu.Parking: It took a few minutes looking but we found parking in front of the GAO“
“This is me and my daughter's Tuesday happy hour spot and we love it. The food comes out fast and hot and it is delicious. They have plenty of parking, the prices are reasonable. Ask for Biannca whenever you come she is wonderful and she knows how to make a great drink. 2 thumbs up!Parking: Plenty of spots“
“JC has the best crabs! I’ve been eating crabs from JCs for over 4 years now and they haven’t let me down! Cindy is so kind and personable, she’s very knowledgeable about the crabs and sizes. I’ve got to know her mom as well and their very kind people! I usually get extra large or jumbo crabs, their delicious corn, their sweet tea and brown paper roll as my regular order and I have been let down! Thanks for always providing great service to my self and everyone I refer!“
“Food was so good, I was dancing the wholeTime while I was eating ?The beef suya was really tender, and it was the extra hot but I could tolerate it. The jollof was great and smoky flavor (party rice). The plantains were extra ripe and the way I like it. I am of Nicaraguan decent and enjoy maduros so if you like ripe ripe plantains then you will love them. The Zobo-lemonade was so good. I wonder if they make it in house. Nicaraguans drink it too but we call it “Jamaica”. The efo riro was great, small portion but great flavor. The suya wings were crispy and flavorful, I prefer flats so that’s the only thing that could have been better. Yeah, I’m doing the hour drive for spice kitchen very soon!!“
“I came here with a reservation to celebrate my birthday and the experience was well worth it. Getting to the restaurant was within walking distance of my hotel and easy to get to. I was greeted and quickly seated. Kim the server was amazing, they have a pianist in the center of the restaurant who is very good.I had a Large crab cake which came with a creamy sauce as an appetizer. The taste of the crab cake was good, but the sauce really made it stand out.I then had their Maine lobster which you have the option to get with, or without Imperial. The lobster is cooked then the inner-side is removed and stuffed with crab cake and shrimp in addition to the lobster then is placed back into the shell. I thought about adding the sauce that came with my appetizer but was concerned it would take away the seafood flavor and make everything too soggy. Im glad I didnt and just added lemons and the butter that already came with it.Whenever I come back to DC this will be my spot and will look forward to trying out their steaks.“
“The lobster rolls and lobster bisque are DELICIOUS! Quick service and high-quality food that really satisfies that seafood craving. The inside of the restaurant is nice and modern, but doesn't have much seating beyond 5 or so groups, so first come, first serve on those. Well worth the trip!“
“This place is a gem.. def lives up to neighborhood bar vibes.. it feels like family, every time.. the food hasn't missed and drinks do what needs to be done.. I recommend the oysters, ceviche, cubano, and banoffee.. I have to try more things but im sure it won't disappoint“
“This is my 2nd time ordering from this restaurant and spot on. The pizza and burgers are a good portion are tasty, and also Halal if you are wondering. An update to my review as I have ordered the fried chicken with caramelized onion, and it is really good and satisfying.“
“Whether you're craving classic Jamaican jerk or want to brunch out on curry, Negril is the place for real deal island flavor. Be sure to order their Sorrel Hibiscus/Ginger drink, it’s delicious and perfectly accompanies your meal. Negril is an absolute gem for those craving a delicious taste of Jamaica without leaving town. Highly recommended!“
“Cant wait to come back with warmer weather. Food seemed pricey at first but between what you get and quality, it was on point and now want to try lots more on the menu. Atmosphere was chill and vibrant. Took care of me and my friend at the bar. Loved it.“
“El Cielo made our Valentine’s celebration a memorable experience! I wanted to surprise my husband this year and the CCO, Pedro, was very helpful when it came to helping me with last minute reservations. The entire staff was friendly, eloquent, and very professional. My husband and I are both Spanish speakers (it is our mother tongue) and we loved interacting with the staff in Spanish (this made it so much more special to us). Now, as for the food. Let me just start by saying that when I told my husband what our dining experience would be like, he was very skeptical. He is an amateur fighter, and when he is not doing “fighting camps” he LOVES to eat. When we arrived he was already making plans to go eat arepas after, to finish filling his tummy. Needles to say, arepas did not happen after, as he was extremely full from all the courses. Each meal was beautifully presented, and tasted just as divine! We loved knowing what each meal represented and they are all a beautiful homage to Colombia. The atmosphere in El Cielo, is very cozy. The aesthetics of the restaurant itself makes you feel like you are eating at a friends house. From the decorations to the music. Y para terminar, usando las palabras de mi hermoso esposo después de finalizar nuestra cena “Parce, toda esta comida estaba tan rica que te hace sentir que estás en el cielo”. El Cielo, un nombre tan propio para este encantador lugar. Nuevamente, muchísimas gracias a todos por hacer, y ser parte, de esta experiencia única e inolvidable para nosotros. Hasta la próxima!“
“Service is much better if you're not dining solo -- I've done both, and believe me, it's a big difference. Menu is limited but the food is usually pretty good, if you can get someone to notice you're there. On my last visit, the only person who saw that I hadn't been waited on was a kind bus person, but I had already lost my appetite and left.“
