“My friends and I went to Motorkat today after attending a play in Olney. Mikey was our server and was a stellar server. He was friendly yet professional. We came in with an appetite. We started with the smoked salmon and artichoke dip. The portion size was nice, and the chunky texture and flavor fit well with the Saltines. Next was the pistou salad, roasted sunchokes and the pork belly with creamy grits. The pistou salad was artfully plated and was soo good. The roasted sunchokes came with a miso ranch dressing and sesame seeds. It was so good and the mixed textures worked well. The pork belly sat on a bed of the creamiest grits I've ever had. The pork belly was tender, and the smoky tomatoes were a great paring and provided just enough acidity to cut through the richness of the dish. Still hungry, we ordered the flank cut short ribs and broccolini. The grilled broccoli were lighly tossed with chili garlic sauce, peanuts and basil. Divine. The flank cut ribs were Cumin scented and accented with a tart cucumber salad. They were fork tender and very flavorful. Our only disappointment was the scallion Pancake with pickled vegetables. We felt that overall then presentation was nice, but the Pancake was a bit thick and was a bit charred on the bottom. The pickled vegetables overpowered the pancake.. Out meal ended with mango sorbet. Overall, we loved the service Mikey provided, and all the staff was gracious. I highly recommend this spot for dinner. Thank you!“

“Mid-Atlantic Seafood has become my absolute favorite spot whenever I’m craving delicious, mouthwatering seafood. The moment you walk in, you already know you're about to be treated right. The food is always cooked to perfection — tender, flavorful, and just the right balance of crunch and softness. One the pricey side but the portion sizes are definitely worth it.

My personal favorites are the stuffed tilapia, stuffed shrimp, and the catfish — each bite feels like comfort and quality wrapped into one. The sides are just as amazing: the teriyaki green beans and stir-fried squash are the kind of sides that make you look forward to the next visit before you’ve even finished your plate.

The drinks are mixed just right — flavorful with the perfect amount of strength — and don’t get me started on the desserts. Their cakes and pies are heavenly, perfectly sweet and full of flavor without being overwhelming.

“If you love Mexican seafood, ceviches, and margaritas, this place is for you. Mariscos Culiacán, right on University Blvd in Takoma Park, seriously delivers.
I had the Original Tajín Margarita (their spicy-style margarita), and it was amazing—perfectly balanced with a great kick. The Aguachiles were fresh, spicy, and full of flavor. But the star of the night was the Ceviche Especial—absolutely unbelievable. Super fresh seafood with bold, well-seasoned flavors.
What really sets this place apart is the combination of authentic Mexican mariscos and sushi. You can enjoy ceviches, tostadas, cocteles, and sushi rolls all in one visit, and everything works.
The space is big and lively with lots of screens, giving it a fun sports bar vibe. They also have happy hour from 4–7 PM plus daily specials, which makes it an easy win.

This was the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to. The food was incredible and so is the service. Everyone was so sweet. They let us try the soup before buying it to make sure we liked it. The lobster roll, hush puppies (recommended by front server) and lobster bisque was out of this world. Will definitely need to come back here every time in Washington. Even got lollipops on the way out. So great!!!“

For a seafood restaurant I was expecting a little more .... seafood options - there is essentially 1 dish from each seafood genre, and the oyster selection is woeful and shockingly expensive given you cannot select variety or provenance of the oysters.

Had the crab cake sandwich, and it was alright. For $40 I'd have appreciated a house made bun but I guess Kings Hawaiian is okay too lol“

“We loved having dinner so much on Friday night that we had lunch on Saturday! Lobster roll was delicious. Great selection of raw oysters. PEI mussels were the best! Service was on point. Friday night Ashley was great and sorry I didn’t get our great servers name on Saturday. Manager Ronald Vasquez was so personable and made us feel like regulars. Wish we lived a bit closer because we would be. Highly recommend!“

“My daughter and son-in-law treated me for my birthday and what a treat it was! From the birthday champagne treat to the special popcorn to the dessert and all meals in between—nothing disappointed. The food was delicious. Filet mignon prepared to perfection. Lamb chops, braised beef, shrimp—all delicious. The sides; I could go on. My husband also enjoyed his meal. Our particular teenaged granddaughter loved her chicken tenders. Even our 2 year old granddaughter enjoyed her kids meal. Definitely will return. This was our first time but it won’t be our last. “Excellent meal for Valentine's Day! We had the special Valentine's Day menu (pretty much all new entrees) and it did not disappoint. The pork "spring roll" was amazing, as was the beef with grits and wish they could appear on their regular menu one day. The service was excellent as always. “I went for dinner here a month or two ago and every dish was incredible- from the ube bao bun to the tofu. We also loved the drinks.

Came back here on Friday to stop by the bar to get the Ube Colada (it’s so good!) and had such a lovely time. The bartenders are so kind and knowledgeable and it was the perfect place to close out a Friday evening.

We had the Connecticut version of lobster roll which came in hot. The catch of the day was a pan seared cod. It was good. The hit was the squid ink risotto. This place is great to celebrate special occasions but not for weekly or even monthly dining. Would be cost prohibitive.“

“I could not believe how good the food was. When everything came out I was legitimately giddy with excitement. I came here with my spouse and our three kids after hitting up a local event - so we were all hungry and a bit tired. The drinks came out quickly, and our appetizer came out shortly thereafter. And OMG the cornbread. I grew up in the south and cornbread was just so-so for me but this was hands down the best I’ve had in my 37 years. The food came out and the portions were absolutely enormous. My spouse and I shared a full rack of ribs (which were huge and meaty and so well seasoned) with a near bucket sized amount of fresh fries and a cast iron pan of Mac n cheese. My kids had tenders and fries and honestly there was so much I could’ve split one plate between the three of them. The price was super reasonable, even before I knew the portion sizes lol. Food was okay, I think the best thing u had was cole slaw -- poboy bread was good. The ceviche and shrimp were okay but nothing I'd crave. Chips were horrible. Honestly, the waitstaff was best part of the restaurant I was a bit disappointed. Someone recommended I eat here, however they did tell me the location at wharf was recommended. “My husband really wanted some fish so we tried this place. The fish is fresh they clean and cook it. Order ahead because the lines are long and so is the wait. He said the fish was ok but needed more seasoning. The fries were great!

Parking: It was crowded and parking was slim I found a parking space right in front but people were pulling up in the street and parking next to parked cars and picking up their food. It could cause a problem especially doing rush hour.“

I ordered a seafood boil over the phone, I was told it would be ready in 25 min once I arrived I was greeted and told to have a seat it would be another 5 minutes which was fine. The boil came in a box and like a foil dish which I wasn’t use to but it was fine, the taste was cool. I liked it.“

“What an experience! I came from Alabama on a work trip. My fellow employees and I were trying to find a seafood restaurant and stumbled upon this restaurant on a Wednesday. And boy did we hit the jackpot! The food was amazing first off. Second off, we had been wanting to do karaoke and there was a DJ! We sang at the table while we were eating and had such an amazing time. The atmosphere is phenomenal!
