The banh mi was affordable, which was nice, but the taste was just okay. The bun cha was better compared to the other dishes, and the portion of meat was reasonable. The spring rolls and imperial rolls were both pretty standard, nothing special. The shrimp dish was slightly below average and a bit disappointing.

“This was my first time visiting the place, and I decided to stop by after seeing the good reviews.
There was an extreme cold and strong wind alert today, which might explain why it wasn’t very crowded, even on a Saturday night.
There were plenty of seats available, the service was great, and the food was absolutely fantastic, truly delicious. The atmosphere is very clean and pleasant.
Prices are fair and in line with the market average. When it’s time to pay, you need to go to the counter.

The new soft-shell crab with tamarind sauce is so yummy and reasonably priced. I will definitely come back for their delectable chimichurri steak. “Phonatics is great — we live right by it and go there frequently for pho on cold days when we want to warm our soul, and banh mi in the summer when we want the tender chicken with pickled onion on a crunchy baguette. The atmosphere is great, the staff is accommodating, and the food is such a quality that it never fluctuates. There was even a time when I couldn’t find basil at any nearby store, and in a hurry I went to Phonatics and they were kind enough to give me a bag of Thai basil. It saved my bruschetta.“

“We’ve been back here three times in one week and each time the food has been incredible! The pho is outstanding - great broth, meat, veg, noodles. The chicken salad is shockingly good - will definitely be getting it again! And my friend tried the curry and banh mi combo with a fried egg which were, again, delicious. Staff are also so lovely. “Came here with my partner to get some pho. These days I feel going to restaurants isn’t worth it unless it’s for food that is difficult to make — pho is one of those. The place had one or two other people seated for lunch on a Friday. We were told to sit wherever we liked.

My partner got pho with extra meat, and they brought the extra meat out in a small bowl, which was great to see that it was indeed extra. I got pho without meat (their only option for pho <$10). They gave plenty of the classic toppings (bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime, chilis). We also got the fresh rolls as well. The rolls were not as good as I’ve had at other Vietnamese places — there were no herbs in it which would’ve really improved it. The pho itself was delicious and definitely worth getting.“

“Best pho in town. And we've tried plenty of other ones over the years. It's so good, I feel like we go here every week. Ingredients are always fresh and the staff is always friendly. Price, portion, and quality are unmatched. Even when we lived in FL we made it a point to go here when we came up to visit. Also, the ones in FL don't compare. But now that we've moved back, it's our go to place.“

Service- Service was fine but once my order was taken, I didn't really exist. I just got my food, ate and left. To be fair it's a very small restaurant and they get food out very quickly. So I'm in the middle on this. It's not like I need a red carpet or anything.

Atmosphere- I really appreciate the feel of this place. Tons of pictures of locals, tight little spot, people coming in knowing exactly what they want. I feel like this restaurant has been here for a long time and I'm just lucky enough to have found it.“

You can tell by how authentic the food is that it's a run by people with great care and appreciation for Vietnamese food. Delightful combination of finely cut crunchy fresh vegetables mixed with thin soft noodles and mixed stir fried seafood flavored with a delicious seasoning that complimented without overpowering the food. “I think this place has the potential to become a long-lasting establishment. The bread is baked in house and perfectly crispy. There is an incredibly diverse menu to appeal to everyone; vegan options, pescatarian, etc. The staff is incredibly kind and patient and informative. Generous portions and imo reasonable prices(10.95 for shrimp Bahn mi)

The issue for me is balance. The sandwich is great but a bit heavy on the pickles radish. Not really any carrot. Minimum cucumber, and a reasonable amount of cilantro and jalapeño but it’s drowned in the pickled onions.

I’ll definitely comeback. There’s an eggplant Bahn mi that sounds enticing. And i hope they grow and get that tiny bit better“

“When i went it was under construction. Did pick up for pho, spring rolls and bahn mi. I didn’t have the bahn mi but my friend said it was deliscious. The pho was really good and they gave lots of meat. The spring rolls weren’t my favorite because they had too much lettuce and not enough of everything else. Overall very good and I’d go back“
