“The crew on board are awesome and super helpful. We had my grandmother who was in a wheel chair and there were super helpful boarding and deboarding. It was a little nerve wracking but if someone in your party is in a wheel chair you can definitely book and you definitely should! We went out on a pretty windy day too and we didn’t have issues with her being thrown around or anything either. Super great experience“
“Good food and good service! Your classic bar fare with plenty of options - I had the Haystack burger with a side of onion rings which was excellent. Generous portions with plenty leftover! We came in with a larger group and were immediately sat and accommodated.“
“Taproot is awesome. Very vegan and allergen friendly. They don’t use any soybean oil (they use olive oil!), which is so rare and awesome for soy allergies. Farm-to-table food, healthy and delicious. Family friendly too. They really go the extra mile to make things from scratch, especially their desserts!“
“What a wonderful brunch experience! The waitress was excellent. We had a 4 year old with us. She suggested we order for him while she was getting our drinks. So smart. He had pancakes and some of the best bacon in TC. We had brunch drinks (Kentucky Bourbon Coffee-yum! Irish Coffee-yum! And a morning mimosa buck-yum!). Breakfast was huge and delicious. We had the stuffed tomato filled with goat cheese and pancetta topped with eggs. Plus a basil sauce. So good. Came with fried potatoes. Too big to eat in one setting. We also had their omelet which was filled with lots of good stuff. Lastly their chicken Benedict. Everything was excellent. Cool vibe. Great service. Absolutely will come again.Kid-friendliness: Great waitress. She made sure our 4 year old was well taken care of.“
“So glad my BF and I discovered this place, we’ve been coming here a lot lately. It has a white tablecloth, quiet atmosphere which we appreciate. I recommend the Middle Eastern Flatbread for appetizer, salmon for entree. BF likes the pollock, lightly breaded and flash fried so not too heavy. The servings are very generous so plenty left for the next day.“
“I was visiting in the area, and my friends took me to this place for pizza, and it did not disappoint! I had the cherry cream soda and pizza. Everything was delicious, the servers were fantastic, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! One of the young ladies was kind enough to take a few pictures of our group.“
“Downtown venue with inside and outside seating. Welcomed immediately by friendly staff! Food offerings change monthly. Large tables inside, some high top tables and new low tables with cushion benches. Many draft options and a cocktail menu. Love the vibe and the outside area is open year round! Always a favorite while in Traverse City!“
“I love getting to go here whenever I get a chance to visit Traverse City. Kind of off the beaten path of Downtown. This place has a brewpub vibe while also offering their own beer and others brews as well so they can serve pretty much anyone. Their food is top notch and a great place to drink some good beer and eat some good food. Simple as that.***Update***Went again, still great! Great NA selection!Parking: Parking is kind of a disaster, but that has nothing to do with the business. Just the location“
“Food was good. Euro sandwich was good. Tomato bisque was not up to par. Good selection of beers on tap. Staff was friendly and prompt. Atmosphere was nice but dang is there a discount for bringing kids?!? Seriously there were lots of families with small children. I love kids but unexpected to see at a bar. I would go back for the beer.“
“I travel frequently for work and this is one of the most remote business friendly shops I have come across. Excellent coffee and sandwiches for breakfast and I could even grab a cocktail at the end of my day. Atmosphere was professional and clean. Staff was very helpful with local suggestions for dinner.“
“Kind of a dive place but SUUUUPER fun and GREAT food. Our server Julie was hopping all over the place and kept us informed of when our order would be ready (they were really busy). My husband had the Bo Rito and LOVED it, I had the Thai salad with chicken and it was delicious! The chicken was cooked PERFECTLY. Not at all dry! The salad dressing was amazing. Seriously, I could eat this everyday. I had my first whiskey sour here and it was wonderful. Just wish they had a hot buttered rum. No one makes them anymore! It's quite the local hangout and Julie seemed to know everybody. There is a pool table, a bar you can sit at and restaurant seating for (I'm guessing) 50ish people. On Saturday mornings they play classic cartoons and breakfast is served all day everyday.I can't wait to go back. I only hope Julie is there when I do!“
“Great bar with plenty of pinball machines, cool retro games like this memory test, a few multiplayer fighting games, and a pool table. Nice craft beer selection, theres also a pretty good pizza counter in the back corner with awesome vegetarian options!Only thing that annoyed me is they sell shooters for $6 a pop- pretty steep when a pack of 10 at the gas station is $10.“
“This restaurant was excellent. The service was very good. We started out with the shrimp and lobster bisque and it was exceptional. Their house specialty for a reason and my favorite part of the meal. Packed with flavor. For entree, I got the whitefish which was overall good and the side of mashed potatoes and green beans didn’t disappoint either. My colleague got the salmon which he enjoyed greatly. We will certainly come back.Update: We did come back and it was as good as ever! Got the scallops entree which tasted great and the smoked whitefish dip is excellent! Just a great overall flavor.“
“Northern country bar with a gravel drive, drinks, PBR on tap, and a good selection on the menu. While the fancy may be dropped at M72, it is a great place to relax with friends, sing some tunes and play some arcade games.Parking: Somethinf about parking“
“Great tacos/bowls for the price! As a vegan, I'm a big fan of being able to customize your meal. Food has always been made quickly and correctly, except for one time which they quickly resolved! David is also one of my all time favorite servers, really nice dude! I gave 3 stars for atmosphere because the music in there is almost deafening.Dietary restrictions: Great vegan and GF options!“
“The food heat was great, the pulled pork, melted in your mouth. The brisket was super tender. The ribs…mine were awesome, tender, juicy. My bf unfortunately had one that was half tender and half over cooked. I’m sure was a fluke. The whole hog quesadillas were fantastic as well. The staff were friendly. And the place was very busy. We got there at a good time with no wait, but it looked like there is usually a longer wait time.“
“What a cool OLD restaurant. Hard to believe it's been around for about 140 years! Went for lunch with a co-worker and ate there. Lots of stuff on the walls to look at. Friendly service. Really good Olive Burger with tots on the side. Going back for sure the next time in TC.Parking: Went during a business day for lunch. Plenty of parking available.“
“Went here for a "Date Night" with my wife. Both servers were nice and helpful. I have food issues and they were patient with me and helped me find food I could eat.Vegetarian options: Lots of options.Dietary restrictions: Igave meat allergy, and the staff helped ne figure out what I can eat there.“
“Old mansion has some ghostly tails which may not even be true after all. With that said that place ghost’s stories or not is still a spooky place. No one has a bad thing to say about the food or the drinks. Staff is great , very helpful.“
“The sweet bar tender was the most enjoying feature, personality, kindness and respectful . I got so drunk I can't remember her name, but I'll always know that blonde sweet soul, my buddy Alex and I enjoyed it. I believe her name was Kim? But a sweet lady.... Thank You For My First LONG ISLAND ICETEA. 5☆“
“The view is what makes this place. Small bar with a few tables and about 6 or 8 bar stools, a bit older feel, but fantastic view over Traverse City. It's not what it once was prepandemic. Hopefully, they can bring back that same vibe and elevation. They do offer small plates in the summer season. No gluten-free options but includes tapas like margarita pizza, white fish dip (they were out of today), firecracker shrimp, wings, fried potato nachos, a potato pizza (I hear that's pretty good), and a few more items.Evan, the bartender, was friendly and remembered our drink orders from the previous visit. It's definitely worth the visit for the view while having a few cocktails ? and hoping they do a bit more with ambiance and vibe/energy of place to enhance the experience.“
“We showed up around 1030pm on a Thurs night in Jan 2024. The bar was dead despite there being a DJ there. The bartender was very sweet and helpful. We stayed about 2 hours dancing and paying the DJ to play better music. There was about a dozen people there and they were chill. Loved that they had nonalcoholic beers, and good ones too! We'd come back!“
“Tony was absolutely amazing. Friendly and attentive, not ever annoying, super effing cool. A great asset to the establishment— I’d lit come back just to see him. Took care of his bar patrons while also ensuring staff had their orders in a very reasonable amount of time.Seriously cool guy. Thank you! (I told you I was gonna leave a review! :)Vegetarian options: Could be more but I was happy with the offerings“
“This is a great bar! The people there are chill and very friendly. They have some great cocktails and mocktails. I really liked the blueberry mule, so good! Often stop here for drinks when I’m downtown. The setting is awesome as well with a great open air view of TC.“
“We are at Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, ON for my daughter’s birthday and decided to come to the camp critter bar and grille for dinner as we had already had pizza yesterday and wanted to try something different. They had buffet going and I asked our server Julia if there were any halal options. She promptly called the manager who called the sous chef and they very kindly prepared some amazing seafood dishes for us! It was really sweet of them to go above and beyond and be so accommodating to ensure that we were able to have a great meal. They also showed us all the items we could eat from the buffet. Thanks so much to Tom, Julia and Christos for the incredible service and hospitality. It was the highlight of our trip and made my daughters day! I would highly recommend dining here as the food was delicious, affordable and there was a wide variety of food to select from. Hopefully there will be enough demand in the future for them to have some halal meat options as well.“
“Went here on a Sunday morning without a reservation. They were able to accommodate my party of 3 at the first come first serve bar seating they offer. I ordered chicken and waffles with a side of bacon. After my first bite I knew that the food was worth every penny. I will return.“
