“Great food great staff very well managed have been dining there for years!“

“Have eaten here several times over the past few years. Consistently one of the finest seafood restaurants we’ve ever visited. While the atmosphere isn’t exceptional, it’s good for a seafood restaurant. Of all the Calabash restaurants, this is our favorite. We ordered drinks as soon as seated and then food. ALL was delivered inside of 10 minutes - probably 5 minutes. We had fried shrimp and clam strips. Breading, temperature, and presentation was excellent. Delicious! Hush puppies with honey butter was our dessert! Senior menu option and very reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place if you’re trying to decide which of the dozen restaurants to dine at in Calabash.

Parking: Large lot beside the restaurant and even larger lot directly across from the restaurant at Callahan’s if needed.“

“The Waterfront Seafood Shack is our favorite restaurant. You are not going to find a better place on the coast for amazing fresh seafood and fantastic atmosphere! You can’t leave without homemade dessert!“

“We had a big party of 11. We made a reservation and had no issues being seated. Our server, Patience, did a fantastic job. Quite a broad menu with choices for everyone. Food was quick to arrive and everyone was more than satisfied with how delicious it was. Portions were large and filling. Totally recommend and will return ourselves!

Dietary restrictions: Pasta is not gluten free, but with the protein options and rice being another side item, we were able to find what we needed.

Another one of our party has a shellfish allergy and we only had to tell our server to be sure to let the kitchen know. There were no issues with cross contamination.“

“We made our second visit to Cape Fear Seafood on Sunday late afternoon with a couple of friends. The food was excellent. Our server appeared to be uninterested in being there and we felt like we were irritating him just by ordering. We will go back but I hope we don’t get the same waiter next time.“

“The food was amazing but the server and food runner would have rather been anywhere but at work. The food runner was throwing food on the table like he was pissed off. The server never asked if we needed boxes or refills before bringing the check. Gratuity was already added, which was fine but servers should always inform their customers. We asked for a few more drinks and we actually got an eye roll. (Note this is after getting the check and after everyone only having (1) drink with no refill). Thankfully, the food far outweighed the service.“

“We had dinner here twice this week. Really good happy hour food and drink specials, I just wish they didn’t end it at 530. Thought that was a little odd. We had grouper bits and buffalo shrimp. Then shared fried oysters and scallops. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our server/bartender was Matthew and he was awesome“

“Billy kids/Maxwell‘s is one of the most family, friendly oriented restaurant that you could ever experience with amazing fix it yourself salad bar along with some amazing fresh made seafood, and steak sitting outside of that he has a bar as well with the most friendliest bartenders and regulars, along with the most magnificent owner you will ever come by the biggest heart and will give the shirts off his back to anyone needed. “There's a reason you can catch so many locals here. My family and I stopped here on a Saturday morning after seeing a long line at another spot. Food was awesome and the service was excellent. I had a simple but delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. My kids (two 10 yo boys) each enjoyed a plate sized pancake w/ bacon (crispy, their favorite) and my wife had the feta omelet which she said was excellent. Cool local college vibe with maybe one too many Carolina logos :) but really a great spot for folks on the island or maybe heading home after check out. If we ever find ourselves down that way again, we're definitely stopping.“

“We went to Filet's for happy hour and sat on the back bar on the water. We both had the steak bits done rare and medium rare, i can say you could cut them with the fork so tender and lots of flavor. We had a few beers and then ordered a tequila shot, that was the only disappointment it was like water . Other than that, it was exceptional. We love going here for happy hour. The waitress was on the ball and checked on us regularly.“

“The resturant to enjoy a sit down excellent meal in Sunset Beach NC. I had the grouper special and a spicy Bloody Mary, it was a delicious experience, I was surprised and thrilled to eat this meal, the sweet potato fries were excellent. when the next couple sat and asked what’s good, I couldn’t stop myself for yelling out the groupper is fresh and to die for. The service was excellent and they will be opening the down stair with live music for the summer. This is going to a daily spot to visit daily. Thank you to the cook and Christy.“
