“Forgot about this sushi restaurant and thought it wasn't there any longer. Well, we had an amazing lunch!!! So many different rolls to choose from, service was fast and prices are very reasonal. Rolls are nicely sized and so many different creative approaches. Cant wait to go back and thank god we didn't order more because we were very satisfied with what we chose.“

After going there I’m on the hunt to find those individuals that made this score not a perfect 5. Service was exceptional (especially when considering the normal pricing). “Hand rolls here are pretty good! Portions are small but I definitely recommend giving it a try here! My favorite handrolls were the spicy tuna and the avocado salmon. The seared prime beef and the A5 Wagyu were also to die for! Every bite melts in your mouth! The spicy tuna crispy rice was ok. The rice was not crispy enough. There was 4 pieces for $12. The salmon carpaccio was really good! Love the citrus sauce that came with this dish. There was 5 slices of salmon for $16. So it was a bit overpriced. Veggie udon was really good and flavorful! Really hit the spot on a cold rainy day! Parking is a bit difficult but that's the norm in Fort Lee. Overall, fish was pretty fresh but overpriced for the portions.“

We ordered the Braised Pork Belly Donburi and the Ebi Tama Donburi and absolutely loved both of them. The pork belly was tender and succulent, a wonderful combo with the rice and greens. “Minka is now one of my favorite restaurants in NJ. The price is on the higher side for how small the portions are. We got seven dishes for three people and were satisfied. Every dish was delicious but my favorite definitely were the raw oysters with Uni. When the waitress asked if we wanted Uni for an extra $18 we couldn't resist and I'm glad we did go with the Uni. The Donburi were also good but the tuna was definitely better than the salmon and ikura. I felt that the rice to fish ratio was also off in the Donburi. There wasn't enough fish for all the rice that was in the bowl. The Yakitori were both cooked very well and tender with just the right amount of flavoring. The shishito peppers were also a great addition to the meal. Some were really spicy while others were not. I love that this place is also BYOB! And the restaurant is fairly quiet with not too many people. I loved the ambiance and would like to come back to try some of the other items on the menu.“

As I mentioned earlier, the place is tiny. There are probably only about eight tables to begin with. When we arrived, it seemed to be the beginning of the rush. There was one table left, and we were seated. What followed was a crazy rush. Pick-up orders and people waiting to be seated. As busy as it was, we still received a complimentary appetizer and let me tell you the service was remarkable. They literally had a team of people working three sushi chefs, three or four waitresses plus a support staff of a young man. As busy as it was, the service was as gracious as ever. Our server was always smiling. In fact, everybody was always smiling, even though they were so busy. I have never seen so much activity. Where we were seated, we could peer into the back where most of the activity was going on . Our particular waitress was simply amazing filling Pick-up orders, ringing up orders as well as serving. We are fourteen months in Riverdale, and have been going to the Japanese place across the street ("Palace" is part of its name) but friends told us about Aoyu, and after tonight's dinner we are converted. Fresh ingredients, full of flavor: even the dinner salad, usually a mundane dish of iceberg lettuce, one grape tomato, and orange dressing, was full of fresh greens and a subtle dressing. Edamane: also fresh and salty. I ordered a seared salmon roll and was delighted by the freshness of the fish. My wife loved her salmon teriyaki, a huge portion; my chicken katsu was crisp, not greasy, and so generous. Red bean ice cream and we were done. We look forward to it every week. Once you order from them on the phone, you can leave your food and payment preferences on file, so calling them and re-ordering is super quick. “Ban Ban Shop is a very cute fusion restaurant that opened across from Columbia University that serves a banh mi, baos, rice bowls, maki rolls, and grain bowls. 3.5 stars: I was very excited to try the banh mi here, but was lowkey disappointed. I ordered the Five Spice Roasted Pork Banh Mi. Don't get me wrong, the pork is very well seasoned/marinated and tender. Unfortunately, the baguette here is too soft, and the oil from the pork does seep through. The key to a good banh mi is the baguette - light on the inside with a thin and crispy crust. You'll know the baguette is good when the roof of your mouth gets destroyed by the time you finish it.“

Also ordered a roll that had bulgogi beef on-top, wow so savory and delicious.
