“I got so lucky when I randomly stumbled upon this place while getting lunch at work. As someone who loves chicken teriyaki trust me when I say you must try theirs. I have been searching for the last few years all around the bergen county area for the best chicken teriyaki and I have found it here. This is my absolute favorite! I have tried probably 50+ restaurants and nothing can beat this. From the way they prepare chicken, to the homemade sauce they use, the perfectly cooked rice and the avocado, egg and dumplings they add on.... it is one of the greatest combinations i've ever tasted. On top of that, their sushi is always delicious and fresh. If thats not enough, they also have fantastic owners and workers there. I always get a warm greeting, and they're thankful for my patronage. Fantastic all around. I will be back soon... My favorite sushi spot!“

The moment you walk in, you’re greeted and made to feel welcome. The waitresses are consistently polite, attentive, and always carry a genuine smile. In particular, the waitress with the slicked-back hair has a way of elevating every visit; she’s made several special occasions truly memorable. The restaurant is almost always busy, and for good reason. Because seating can be difficult to secure, I strongly recommend making an RSVP ahead of time. Even with the constant flow of guests, the experience never feels rushed. The master sushi chef is actively engaged with diners, adding an extra touch of authenticity and hospitality to the meal. As for the food—exceptional. The salmon and tuna are always fresh, vibrant, and prepared perfectly. It’s easily one of the best places to enjoy a great evening out with family or friends. “Koete Omakase provides a traditional sushi omakase experience. There are many omakase spots in NYC, and I chose this spot because I heard they source their fish from the Toyosu market in Tokyo. Currently they charge $140/person for 15 course. From my research for nyc omakase, this is middle range pricing. I also specifically chose Koete Omakase due to their middle range pricing, hoping to have a better experience than the lower pricing spots.

How was it? It was good! Definitely some high quality nigiri and sushi. The experience lasted 1 hour and 30 mins. I dont know what it was, again the experience was good, but it wasnt amazing. Im not sure how much better this spot is compared to the cheaper spots (priced at around $80/person). But I definitely left feeling like my pocket made some sacrifice for this. To be more straightforward, I just feel like it was a bit overpriced.

Koete Omakase again serves some good high quality sushi. But for $140/person, when there are other omakase spots that charge for way cheaper (and probably similar or the same quality), I have mixed feelings. If youre in Times Square, want an omakase, and dont mind the price, definitely come here!“

“Positive vibes and a great experience. I’ve visited this place several times in person, and I’ve also done takeout a couple of times. The most recent time was takeout. I needed to feed a small group and asked about platter offerings, but was told they don’t have any set menus. They asked what I was looking for and made some recommendations to fit my needs and requested budget.

To say that I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. They delivered and then some. It was a combination of various sushi, regular rolls, and specialty rolls.

They also asked about any potential allergies in the group, along with any specific preferences or dislikes.

The food was fantastic in taste and presentation. It was well packed and came with plenty of ginger, wasabi, and miso soup. They also gave me delicious tea while I waited for them to complete my order.

Club music was too much & a tad loud. Chefs working at the sushi counter were not engaging at all but looked unhappy. They never said a word, not even hello or good bye. Servers were attentitive & somewhat friendly. Later on a gentleman, maybe the owner, had good energy & greetings. Omakase would have been better if the sashimi was not warmer than room temperature. Ramen at the end was strange & unnecessary. No dessert was included and that would have been better to finish the meal with. Prices are fair. BYOB is a major plus. Next time will not do omakase, as neighboring people were enjoying their a la carte dishes.“

We visited for a family gathering and were shown to a private room; the service was attentive, and they kept refilling the delicious side dishes.
The sashimi was fresh, as was all the seafood. There was a wide variety of tasty accompanying dishes, and the staff were all friendly.
The aged kimchi was particularly outstanding—the assorted sashimi paired with it was truly delicious.
The portions were so generous that they even packed up the spicy fish stew for us to take home.

We also had curry karage ramen. The karage is on the soft side. The curry sauce is a little too spicy for us. But the dish is good anyway.
