“I would like to pass along my review on Lefkes. Specifically, the extraordinary "ambassador"--the Lefkes manager--Eva who greeted our party. She greeted our party at the door, made our group feel special while making each individual feel recognized in a sea of humanity of guests. We were celebrating an office birthday party. She greeted each person with an elegance be-fitting of European royalty, with class and style. She ensured we were seated with a wonderful view of the dancing and action, while being able to enjoy our personal space. The food was to die for...she assisted the staff in serving the food and clearing our table to keep our dinner moving. When one of the people in our party requested a frappe, Eva asked one of the servers, "Dimtry" to prepare a classical Frappe. It was rich and creamy...Eva capped off our evening by having birthday pastries brought out with the flaring streamer...a memorable event from a very memorable person! thank you Eva and Lefkes! it became our Greek vacation! “Five of us had a party on Saturday evening. The tavern was quite busy which reflected on service (our waiter wasn't present all the time). But I can understand that.
The space itself doesn't look like a typical Greek tavern, but high ceiling, good furniture and an appropriate lighting are definitely worth mentioning.
The food is good, but some portions are too small. For example, Greek salad is very tasty, but the portion is way too small. The same goes for grilled saganaki. In addition, our lamb chops were served well-done, although we asked for medium. On the other hand, our red snapper was great.
Restrooms are too small for a restaurant with this capacity.
The wine list should be MUCH better.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. And the prices are very reasonable to be honest.
However, if I compare the food and portions with some other Greek taverns in Astoria I have to admit there are better options.“

“We have enjoyed Sea Salt on past visits. This time our order was pre cooked. We ordered medium rare cheeseburgers and we received warmed up versions with cheese not melted instead of the fresh cooked ones in the past. It was disappointing. The rest of lunch was great. Service was superb.“

The wait was a bit long though, almost 25+ minutes just to get to order, and sometimes other people (I assume related) just cut in to throw in 5 or 10 other orders. “I had such a great time at this Greek restaurant! Our server, George the Greek, was absolutely fantastic—so friendly, funny, and full of personality. I laughed so much during the meal, and he made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming.

The food was incredibly tasty, too. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. I left completely satisfied and already planning my next visit.

“Christos Souvlaki Stand is a gold mine and I say that because there isn't a day that there isn't a swarm of customers gathered here. His souvlaki is the absolute best within the Astoria area!
It's always so fresh, well seasoned and prepared right in front of you and can be topped with whatever sauce you want - my go to is the BBQ sauce.

“We were there in December and came across Symposium while walking. We were impressed by the cozy atmosphere and the amazing service we received. Our server knew a lot about the history of the restaurant and was helpful in suggesting a wine with dinner. The hummus, lemon potatoes and steamed vegetables were all very savory! I highly recommend and we will be back next time in NYC!“
