“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“We got lucky with a last-minute reservation here. The retro design and cocktails set the tone for a really fun time. The Maitre D was very welcoming. Taylor took amazing care of our table and brought some really thoughtful goodies for the kids. The food is world-class. Nothing I could say that isn't already in the reviews except that some of my favorites were the more unassuming dishes - caesar salad w/ potato chips and white fish, chicken parm, desserts, etc. Overall, it was a memorable meal /experience and is definitely worth the hype!“

“Nice little Bar/Restaurant within walking distance from the Museum of Natural History. Outdoor seated is covered to keep diners out of the sun or rain. Tables are very small, not ideal for big parties or for families with strollers.

Drinks (The Dude) were very well made (strong!) and Downeast Cider on tap was an added bonus.

Bathrooms are small but clean and sufficient.

Double Smash burger was smaller than expected but it was very tasty as were the fries that came with it. Hot honey chicken sandwich was delicious (bigger than the burger) and the truffle fries were very flavorful.“

It’s in a great location, right in the heart of Manhattan. There’s even a parking garage next to the restaurant, which is perfect if you’re a commuter. I would definitely eat here again. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy. “I only have one word for the delicious and tasty food I just had: Fantastic! I want to eat like that every day! I opted for a delivery from Wonder and was looking for something satisfying for my diet and I’m glad I tried DIG INN, the delivery was fast and the order was accurate since I chose the “Make Your Own Bowl” option. I went for: Steak, char-chicken, sweet potatoes, avocado, carrots and a lemon wedge. The recipe for a healthy and protein rich meal! It was so great I seriously thought of having another round at it as soon as I finished. Now I know where to order when I need a protein-filled dinner! Great discovery, can’t wait to order again! This was exactly what I was looking for today!“
