“Overall, we had a very good dining experience. The food was delicious, especially the steak — it was flavorful, cooked very well, and the portion size was generous and very satisfying. The chicken was also very good. The butter served with the bread was absolutely delicious and a great touch. The asparagus served with the steak was also very well prepared and complemented the dish nicely.

The only disappointment was the potato; I felt it could have been more flavorful and better prepared.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the cleanliness of the restroom. It was very dirty, and someone had clearly vomited in the sink area, but it had not been cleaned. For a restaurant of this quality, this was not acceptable and did not match the overall experience. I hope more attention can be given to hygiene and cleanliness.

We also called ahead to make a reservation, but we were told that due to the restaurant being full, we needed to come in person and put our name on the waiting list. We did that, but we ended up waiting more than 40 minutes before being seated. I understand that busy times happen, but the waiting process could be managed in a more organized way.

The food quality was great, but I believe there are areas where the restaurant can improve, especially regarding cleanliness and guest experience. I hope this feedback is taken into consideration.“

“We had a family luncheon on Fathers Day or 18 people 12 adults, 6 children under 17. Restaurant had a pleasant, clean atmosphere, staff was friendly, courteous and attentive, and there was something on the menu for everyone..from appetizers, salads and pizzas to full dinner choices. We werent rushed and all enjoyed! We'd definitely visit again!“

“This is what we call “fine dining.” We did not reserve the main dining room, as one of our party did not care for prix fixe. We opted for the lounge as you can have from the menu or prix fixe. When you first arrive, you are greeted by a pleasant hat/coat check lady. We arrived early and said we would wait for the other couple and were invited to wait in the intimate cocktail area. The cocktails were superb and served with a house-made cocktail snack. When the guests of the party arrived, we were escorted to the lounge area. An intimate area with about six to eight tables. After being seated and greeted by the head server (maître d' or captain), who explained our options, we all opted for the menu. After looking at all the choices, we decided to split two appetizers. Even though the number of items on each choice was uneven, the server said, “Let me take care of it". And then beautifully presented plates arrived with equal portions. And it only got better from there. The entrées were each explained in detail, including their origins and how they were prepared. I could go on and on. The fish, beef, duck breast, and pork were everything we expected and more. We all commented, maybe the best we have had. The house made desserts were perfect. I had possibly the best cheese plate I have ever had. The entire staff of servers were professionals and enhanced the evening. The most disappointing part of the evening was when a guest entering the dining room (after removing his overcoat) came in dressed in Dockers and a short-sleeve polo. This is an insult to the owner, the chef, and the entire staff at this fine restaurant. But maybe he was an elite or a “special” person. We all said we would be back.“

“I was very impressed, moonlighting in the bartender night life for the last 20 years. I normally don’t go out to bars. My sister and myself were down at Lenox hospital for our Dads surgery. One of the desk staff at Franklin Hotel recommended Penrose! The staff, manager and bartender were so friendly. I have to say I was very happy. “Just had brunch at White Maple Cafe. This place has such a beautiful, cozy atmosphere, in the middle of the lovely town of Ridgewood. We had the chicken wings, short rib benedict, and sandwiches. All the food is extremely high quality, delicious, and tastes like it was made with love! The owner Maryam is the most kind, welcoming, and caring host, as well as a great barista! I highly recommend this place for any occasion. Support this business - they deserve all the love!“

The host was pleasant, offered us cornbread and water while we waited. Our server was lack luster, she was so busy being busy she completely missed the mark at every opportunity. I asked for my French fries to be extra crispy and they were delicious. After driving for almost 5 hours, sitting in rush hour traffic and construction, this diner made our day and on a really great note.“
