“This place was fantastic! Over the years I've been here maybe 10 times. I never complain when my friends or family suggest this place to eat for dinner. The waitresses are always a pleasure to deal with. They assist me well when I ask for all my extras and meal modifications. The chef ?‍? in the back is on point. I wish GYRO TOWN long-term success in these challenging economic times

Parking: Paid street parking can be a bit full sometimes, causing me to circle once or twice. I typically never have to walk more than a half a block.“

“Everything about our experience here was so so amazing. The second we walked in the door all the servers were so warm and welcoming. When ordering our food they were incredibly patient despite being very busy and took the time to answer any questions we had and talk to us about Greek culture and cuisine. The food felt like a homecooked meal and I would not be surprised if there was someone's grandmother in the kitchen doing all the cooking. On top of all this, the feta....it changed my life. I am not sure where they get it from but I could eat it with a spoon from the jar. Highly, highly, highly recommend this restaurant.“

“This is my dream diner. Breakfast is my favorite meal and Madison delivers. Many other reviewers complained about the prices. The prices may be slightly higher ($2-$3?) than other places but you get what you pay for. First, the place is immaculate. Everything shines like a mirror. Second, the food is cooked by a certain kind of professional. I'll compare to another cafe nearby that offers a load of grease with your food. Not here. My hash browns were crispy, fluffy, perfect. Eggs, again perfection. The coffee was not as good as it could be (Lavazza please), but more than drinkable. I'm thinking of moving to NYC. Now I'm looking near The Madison as I'll spend most of my mornings there.“

“Food is really good! Comparably priced to most of the fast casual restaurants in midtown area. Got the Piato both times, and the potatoes are great as a base. Chicken is crispy and nice, and the Bambi and Greek Salads are fire. Service is really really good too, and personally get a kick out of the door to the basement being covered by the trash can lol.

“Everything was great except they had trouble dividing the bill as 2/3rd and 1/3rd. After waiting for over 15 minutes we said split in and we'd sort the difference in cash. It would have been good form to give us cookies or a glass of wine while we waited so long. On the plus side, the food was as tasty as always.“

“Best Greek food in nyc Worth the lines“

“Overall pretty good, but not the best or most authentic Greek food I've eaten. It's okay. The service when we sat was pretty quick with waters. The food itself was okay, flavor is there but not strongly. The Saganaki had goat cheese, which isn't traditionally the case nor was it specified in the menu.

They do need groups to all be there to be seated and don't take reservations. I'd understand if it was amazing food, but it was just okay.“

“My favorite Greek restaurant in the city, I stop by monthly. Food is phenomenal, staff is extremely friendly and courteous. There’s nothing on the menu I do not enjoy!“

“WOW!!! Best spinach pie ever! My wife spent time living in Greece and ate a spinach pie every day for lunch. She has been trying to find a similar pie for me to enjoy since I was not there. We have had spinach pies from the West coast to NYC. Here we found the best she has ever had and me as well. “I've been coming here for years!!! The most authentic Greek food I've had here in the states. Everything on the menu is a hit. The food takes about 10 minutes if you order in-person. Everything is fresh, tasty, and quality. There is limited seating indoors but plenty of additional seating outside to immerse yourself in the Montclair streetscape. The owner, Efi, is extremely accommodating and professional. She cares deeply about the quality of food and service. I can't recommend this place enough. Fair warning though: you will crave Efi's Gyro after trying it!“

I especially recommend the lemon potato wedges the chicken soup the shrimp Mykonos, the grilled seafood. The lamb chops are to die for great prices and it’s like dining with family.
