“This is true Japan. Real Japan. A modest restaurant of the highest quality. A small space on a side street. This is authentic Japan. There are two tables and a counter - 12 seats total. The chefs are right there. The server too, all are soft spoken and focused on their craft. The food is... The food is... The food is so good. So, so good. The sashimi melted, balanced with the spicy thing. The mazeman incredible, full of umami and flavor. The ramen healed my soul :)Do me a favor if you go... Eat, enjoy and leave. Be efficient... Be respectful. Be Japanese. It's a small space, they're too nice to move you along, but c'mon, allow them to serve more people and make more money“

“Oh my goodness. A Chinese Restaurant that I can simply say good things about it. It's clean, charming, and the food is great but limited selections. If you enjoy a fast and simple lunch. This place is the right place for you. Have to warn you though. It can get very crowded in the weekends. People all over come to eat here. They're quite efficient and fast to serve. Like all things there is always a downside to things. I hate to say it but the restroom is some what a disappointment.Parking: If you're a local that lived here all your adult lives you know how hard parking can be not only in Flushing but it's just like that in the metro of NYC. Hate it or love it it is what it is. Ditch the car if you do not want a headache or pay the price. Simply put.“

“Minuscule Eatery The wall composed of whitish equally sized rectangles throughout exudes few colors or lively shapes. Flavor is minimal. Customer space includes a limited number of tables, tables rather thin, compressed, best fit for only two seated diners; crowded with dishes. Only two other diners are present this afternoon, seated nearby, one wearing friendly NYU labeled pants. Diners hunger for presence of more diners! Ambience: too quiet, not much happening. Other than nice plants it's rather bland, confined. The interior surroundings, the waitpersons, and to some extent the food have moderate unique vibe. Sofun, try to find a balance of these aspects. We experienced the tasty combo of the chilled rice noodles with carrots, cucumber, peanuts and bean sprouts; century egg salad with grilled pepper and eggplant; inviting historical Durian puff pastry dessert; and black salted egg custard bun. 'These look beautiful and have pleasant smells. A peaceful, not noisy, aura emerges, unusual because no loud music splashes one's ears and no unique waitpersons, often present in eateries, run up and down the space. After passing so many "loud," demanding noisy signs, businesses, etc. via Manhattan on the way to Sofun, the mini restaurant is a quiet contrast to the screaming business advertisements on the streets from competitive, demanding midtown Manhattan island endroits. Experience the quasi delicate repose at Sofun albeit also the accompanying empty feeling. Hope that Sofun doesn't become even one bit more tiny.“

“The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review.Atmosphere: I haven't really been to many Japanese restaurants, but it felt like a calm and relaxing place. Very clean and organized. I do want to say that the exterior of the restaurant needs to have its name highlighted a bit more. Thus, it can be more noticeable for customers.Service: The lady was really attentive when I walked in. Food came out in a timely manner. The only thing that took a bit long was paying for it. So, I had to take the bill to the lady and pay it. She was also having her meal, so it's understandable.Food: I ordered the Miso Ramen and the Crispy Takoyaki. The ramen broth was flavorful, and the rest of the ingredients were as well. The Crispy Takoyaki was hot and well done. The octopus from the Takoyaki was not too chewy or hard to chew. Overall, I was pleased with my order.Price: Honestly, their prices are decent. You get adequate portions and good enough flavors.“

Honestly each dish was better than the other, right amount of spice and was light. The atmosphere was kind of dive bar-y which was pretty nice. The prices were a bit high in my opinion though. The service wasn’t very good. Our server wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu as we were asking her questions about it. “Our favorite Thai place. The owner is lovely - so warm and fun to talk to. The pad thai is pretty much THE pad thai I compare every other pad thai to. Hits the spot every time. I think it's fantastic with tofu. The satay and mango salad are both delicious as well.“

“This place is such a gem! Price is not bad, and the food is amazing! I don't know what authentic Tibetan food should taste like, but this place is a family-owned business so I would inclined to believe that they serve authentic food. I came here for lunch today at around 1PM. The place was empty but as I began devouring my lunch, more people showed up for a late lunch, and guessing from the language they speak, they are all Tibetans/Himalayans. The menu is not necessarily friendly to non-Tibetans but my server was kind enough to explain menu items. I did also google some of the names of the food to figure out my order. I settled with an appetizer, a dropa khatsa. It's stir fried beef tripe. It's got a hint of curry but not overpowering and it doesn't remind you of Indian food. I The main dish I ordered was the mala dry pot with rice noodle fan (similar to Korean japchae noodles) with beef stomach (beef tripe but the bible tripe kind), fish balls, and mushrooms. The dry pot was spicy but not overly spicy. I caught a hint of Chinese Five Spice in it. Will definitely come back to try more food!“

“We were looking for a place to celebrate our daughter’s first birthday. We live in Manhattan and needed a place where we could host up to 80 people with easy parking and good food. All of the usual ideas weren’t cutting it for us so my father-in-law who lives in Woodmere suggested Jackie’s place as an option. My wife was a little hesitant at first. I think she had her mind made up with some of the more traditional options like an ice cream parlor or room somewhere with catering. But her father and Jackie talked some more and sent her pictures of the location and the idea of hosting here grew on her.Jackie had never hosted this kind of party but he and my wife worked out the details in terms of setting up a buffet, the right cost per person, the time (on Feb 10, Chinese New Year) and the decorations. Everyone was a little nervous, including her father who kind of felt like he set us up on a blind date: we hadn’t had the food or actually visited the place.Cut to the party and it wound up being absolutely amazing in every regard. My biggest concern was the food. My family loves Chinese and who knew it would be so delicious. I knew the other details would be fine in the end and people being together would make the party fine regardless, but bad food would have been trouble. Not only was the food not bad, it was truly Delicious! We had trays of dumplings, spring rolls, cold sesame noodles (often tough to get good ones but not here!), Sesame chicken, pork chow fun, shrimp with vegetables, lo meins, fried rices, Mongolian beef, and lots more. We figured we would have food to take home and were shocked at just how little left overs there were. And this was not due to lack of volume but instead to how much everyone ate.I could say lots more about Jackie’s first time hosting an affair like this, and about him as a host, and about the party being so successful. But bottom lines are these:1. If hosting a kid’s birthday or other such event at a Chinese restaurant wasn’t a thing, it should be now2. Call Jackie to host your next event. You won’t be sorry3. Come any time for a meal or takeout. If Delicis was in downtown Manhattan, it would be insanely popularThanks Jackie and Delicis staff for your time, communication and amazing food. Hoping you start hosting events like ours more frequently!“

“From the moment you step into Ginger and Lemongrass, a Vietnamese culinary haven in Whitestone, you're enveloped by the aromas of authentic, rich flavors that promise a delightful dining experience. I have frequented this restaurant multiple times, and each visit solidifies my love for their exquisite cuisine. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the pho. The soup base is deep, rich, and layered with flavors that make other versions seem bland in comparison. It's a comforting bowl that brings the essence of Vietnam right to your table. Equally impressive are the savory cakes, which are a unique delight with a subtle hint of coconut that tickles the palate in the most pleasant way. While I enjoy dishes with a stronger heat, the coconut spicy lemongrass soup was a well-balanced medium spicy, suitable for most taste buds. However, the real surprise was the steamed seafood paired with garlic bread – a combination that enhanced the flavors and added a satisfying texture contrast to the meal.Despite the restaurant's bustling atmosphere, especially noted during our last visit at 6:30 PM, the service remained commendable. Although there were minor hiccups, like two items missing from our order, the staff's efforts to rectify the situation were noteworthy. They promptly addressed the oversight with the kids' pho and graciously compensated with a complimentary coconut pandan lemonade, which was a refreshing end to our meal.Ginger and Lemongrass truly stands out not just for its authentic and flavorful dishes, but also for its dedication to customer satisfaction. The packed house is a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Vietnamese dining experience in Whitestone. Their commitment to flavor, service, and a genuine dining experience is evident in every dish and interaction.“

“Momo Crave is a Nepali fast-food restaurant in Queens. If you’re craving momos, just head to the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens. just off the 7 train on the border of Woodside and Jackson Heights, QueensNo other area in NYC boasts such a strong concentration of restaurants, cafes, and food trucks selling Tibetan and Himalayan cuisine. The restaurant specializes in Momos, a popular type of dumplings in the Himalayas, as well as Nepali masala tea and coffee. We ordered-* Chicken Jhol Momo &* Chicken Chilli MomoBoth dishes were too good. Mix of meat with spices and veggies, steams, and then saute with sauce.I recommend their Jhol momo for sure.I would suggest, avoiding ordering noddles, wings, or drumsticks - they were overcooked, deep deep fried, and not at all tasty- we did not like it all and asked the owner about replacing it with another momo which they did, so I would count their service great.Ambiance - it's good, with a couple of good paintings and cool decor.Note: The neighborhood hosts the biggest Himalayan food and cultural festival in September, giving visitors a taste of some of Jackson Heights’ best Tibetan, Nepalese, and South Asian restaurants at the annual Momo Crawl With over 25 momo vendors in and around the area“
