“Went here last weekend to have lunch with our daughter who goes to St. Johns. Parked right on the corner (Metered ) no parking lot for those wanting to know. Mostly college crowd. Service was quick and good. Photos from others are the same as ours so i won't post. We would definitely go back again.“
“We were lucky to be staying at a nearby hotel that made this place an easy walk to get to. They have a convenient check-in system. We ordered vegetable soup (hot in temperature, which was great), spicy wontons in a peanut sauce (my favorite of the dishes), the variety soup dumplings (I recommend you eat these first as they're not as tasty when lukewarm), and pork siu mai (I think I butchered the spelling... but also great! ). For two people, that was a little too much food : ) The complementary hot tea was also very good. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that we had to wait a while for someone to come and take our order and refill our water/ tea. It doesn't seem there's a system of how tables are covered, so it's more of a situation where you need to flag someone down. Otherwise, you're likely to wait a bit.“
“Small and friendly local Thai restaurant where service is attentive and the dishes are always flavorful and on point. Have ordered numerous menu options and the chef never disappoints. Highly recommend ?I would add a photo but it would just be of a bunch of very empty plates.“
“The sky was grey, the day chilly, my stomach begging for something filling and warm. We walked past this place and oh did the fragrance of the soups beckon! It was love at first sip. Simple and plain. The wife got the chicken and fish maw special, I the bone soup with beef.Is it the best around? No. Is it the cheapest around? No. But I don't think you can get such nice soups and serving sizes at this price range anywhere else.Give it a try, I didn't regret it.“
“Extremely authentic Cantonese noodle shop. The noodles were very fresh and almost crunchy. Soup base was good, and the shrimp dumplings were huge and tender. Service was friendly and when they found out we were from out of town, they recommended lots of fan favorites and even showed us their frozen menu to cook at home (we couldn't bring them with us, but would be a great option for locals).“
“Great food—Nasi bungkus with rendeng is my favorite, but the oxtail soup is super tasty. Small place with good service. This was the first place I ate when I moved to the neighborhood, so this will always be a local spot I frequent.Dietary restrictions: My friend has a tree nut allergy, which limited our options but our server was incredibly helpful and made sure there wasn’t cross contamination. We both enjoyed our meals!“
“I’m addicted to eating these instant ramen noodles with the birria meat ?!! It was super delicious, noodles were cooked perfectly, and the meat was very savory, it also had a touch of spice to it, which made it even better ??!I also enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant it was very minimal and cute to eat alone or with friends. I met the owners of the restaurant and they were very kind and helpful when I came my first time ☺️“
“First visit 11/05/2023: The sukhothai noodles are beyond amazing, the flavors are so fresh and my mind was blown away by the combination of sweet, sour, nutty, fishy, and umami flavors. Will definitely be coming back for more!Second visit 04/15/2024: Ordered sukhothai noodle bowl again as I loved it so much last time - I believe it was cold last time? This time it was served hot, which I didn't like as much. Recommend ordering with standard rice noodle btw (not vermicelli as shown in photo). Also tried my friend's pork blood broth noodle soup which I didn't like much, but might be an acquired taste, and really enjoyed the pork meatball skewer!Keeping 5-stars for excellent food and service!“
“As you walk in the Restaurant, you immediately get a homey atmosphere in this place! The food was served very quickly. The Authentic Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup is excellent as the broth is very thick and flavorful. The beef that they use is half tendon half meat, which is the best combo that a merchant can use when preparing this dish! Overall, the food is excellent! I would definitely come back again! As a bonus, their pickled cabbage and peanuts side dish are excellent too!“
“Minuscule Eatery The wall composed of whitish equally sized rectangles throughout exudes few colors or lively shapes. Flavor is minimal. Customer space includes a limited number of tables, tables rather thin, compressed, best fit for only two seated diners; crowded with dishes. Only two other diners are present this afternoon, seated nearby, one wearing friendly NYU labeled pants. Diners hunger for presence of more diners! Ambience: too quiet, not much happening. Other than nice plants it's rather bland, confined. The interior surroundings, the waitpersons, and to some extent the food have moderate unique vibe. Sofun, try to find a balance of these aspects. We experienced the tasty combo of the chilled rice noodles with carrots, cucumber, peanuts and bean sprouts; century egg salad with grilled pepper and eggplant; inviting historical Durian puff pastry dessert; and black salted egg custard bun. 'These look beautiful and have pleasant smells. A peaceful, not noisy, aura emerges, unusual because no loud music splashes one's ears and no unique waitpersons, often present in eateries, run up and down the space. After passing so many "loud," demanding noisy signs, businesses, etc. via Manhattan on the way to Sofun, the mini restaurant is a quiet contrast to the screaming business advertisements on the streets from competitive, demanding midtown Manhattan island endroits. Experience the quasi delicate repose at Sofun albeit also the accompanying empty feeling. Hope that Sofun doesn't become even one bit more tiny.“
“If you are looking for a warm bowl of goodness on a cold day, this is where it's at. I'm a big fan of rice noodles over wheat noodles as they are lighter and doesn't put me in an instant food coma. Decided to give this place a try vs my usual spot (Ten Seconds Noodle) and it did not disappoint. In comparison, the broth felt more healthy and nutrient at Deng Ji Yun Nan with the added herbs. The menu is quite large but well presented with plenty of photos for reference. I liked how spacious the interior was with all the light wooden accents.“
“My partner and I have been coming to Susuru, more or less once a week, for about a year now. It’s « our spot » we love it. We get the same order every time, miso ramen and spicy tuna poke. I usually get a lucky cup sake as well. We love the takoyaki as well, but all their apps are great. The atmosphere is incredible. We love the going on a quiet, rainy day around lunch time.“
“We came here with Mommy a while back. It was lunchtime. They had a line to enter the restaurant. Wow, that must be good. We ordered a whole Peking duck, pan-fried noodle seafood, sauteed pea leaves in garlic sauce, and fish filet with mushroom. I enjoyed the fish filet and sauteed pea leaves, which were the best dishes. Peking Duck was not bad and the seafood pan-fried noodle was so-so. However, Peking Duck was less crisp than the place I had in Chinatown. In short, everything was delightful! If we return, I really want to get that pea leaves again. This vegetable rock! Fish filets differed from what I had expected. One thing about Peking Duck is that they gave unlimited buns to eat with, but there wasn't much meat left because they filet the duck without leaving the bones for the customers. It's better to order a few filets of Peking duck rather than a whole duck. The place is a huge, two-floor restaurant. We had a table downstairs, which was pretty spacious from one table to the other. We'll return to try some other dishes and vegetables. Nice!“
“We have had dinner at this restaurant several times. The environment is very tasteful, the service is very good, and the various dishes are very exquisite in workmanship. We highly recommend this place and will stay here again if we come back to New York.“
“I love the ambiance in this place, the wood accents and clean lines is really soothing. We came on a Friday night and didn’t make a reservation. It wasn’t busy but there was only one server so it was slower but the server was friendly and attentive. The ramen is AMAZING! Highly HIGHLY recommend stopping in for the ramen, it will not disappoint. The fried chicken and octopus appetizers were good but in our minds we thought they’d be different.“
“Their noodles are freshly made, live, by a real noodle chef. It may look like a Japanese ramen place from outside, given all these shabby and confusing lanterns, but it is actually a really good Chinese noodle restaurant. My personal fav is pulled round noodles, either pan fried or in soups. The noodles are chewy and cooked perfectly. I would say their takeout is not as good as dine-in because the noodles are cooked a bit more being steamed in the container. So if you want to try, please come in-person. I hope this place is here to stay in this neighborhood for the long haul because it doesn't seem to have enough customers.“
“Came here on a cold rainy Thursday for lunch. Looks like a mom and pop restaurant that seats a total of 13 comfortably. We ordered the Combo Ramen and the Yoodon Kimbap. The Combo Ramen (medium spicy) wasn’t that spicy, but good enough for me. It definitely hit the spot on this rainy day. The Yoodon Kimbap is a kimbap that is wrapped in a thin sliced pork cutlet topped with a sauce that they made. This combination worked really well and the soup that it came with paired perfectly with it. I hope to visit again and try their other dishes.“
“If you’re trying out a new Korean-Chinese restaurant then all that matters is the Jjajangmyun and jjambbong. Tried both and they were delicious! Classic taste and healthy serving. My only critique is the potatoes in the jjajang sauce. Not a big fan. Other than that looking forward to coming back.“
“From the service to the food and even the music playing, it was all top tier. Miss Lucy was so sweet and catered to my groups little needs. Even with the language barrier I still enjoyed what she had to offer. Visit Ju Bang Jang and do forget to tip!“
“I've gotten food from here four or five times (mostly ordered out but dined in once) and have loved it every time! Really flavorful meals, generous portions, and friendly staff. They're really efficient with preparation time. Cute interior and a welcoming vibe. One of my new restaurant recommendations!“
“I recently went here after hearing from a friend about their food and how great it is. I have been to many of these cuisines but this one is probably one of the best ones yet. Their food is very traditional and some of these reviews are bad because they probably don’t know what traditional korean chinese food cuisine food is. I will be coming here a lot more often now.“
“I love this place! i’ve gone here by myself before and with a couple friends as well. the workers are very friendly and the decorations are soooo pretty. They have this bell that you can ring so that the waiters are called to you so you can order and pay and it’s so convenient! love kyuramen Kid-friendliness: Good place to bring family and is a very friendly environment. They have a rocking chair at the front that i often see children go on and enjoy a lot.“
“This place is such a gem! Price is not bad, and the food is amazing! I don't know what authentic Tibetan food should taste like, but this place is a family-owned business so I would inclined to believe that they serve authentic food. I came here for lunch today at around 1PM. The place was empty but as I began devouring my lunch, more people showed up for a late lunch, and guessing from the language they speak, they are all Tibetans/Himalayans. The menu is not necessarily friendly to non-Tibetans but my server was kind enough to explain menu items. I did also google some of the names of the food to figure out my order. I settled with an appetizer, a dropa khatsa. It's stir fried beef tripe. It's got a hint of curry but not overpowering and it doesn't remind you of Indian food. I The main dish I ordered was the mala dry pot with rice noodle fan (similar to Korean japchae noodles) with beef stomach (beef tripe but the bible tripe kind), fish balls, and mushrooms. The dry pot was spicy but not overly spicy. I caught a hint of Chinese Five Spice in it. Will definitely come back to try more food!“
“I think this restaurant has a great selection of momos for all taste buds, flavorful and so fresh … the staff work hard to put together this experience and I’ll definitely be back soon, the sizzler momo was incredible and the chili momo ?“
“This local dive is so good you wish it would stay local! Wildly popular spot that’s been around forever. The Curry Chicken Noodle Soup is to die for. The noodles are the thick yellow kind. The Curry Beef Noodle Soup comes with the thin yellow noodles (but you can always ask for the other). There’s a little wait time on weekends, but the turnaround for tables is good because the service is so fast. The take-out option (pick-up only) here is thriving and also fast and accurate.“
“They are opening more stores here (new one in tangram) because they are so good. I usually get the handripped stewed pork (not spicy) and its always great. I recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC, you have to try it at least once. The stewed pork/lamb burgers are also top notch.“
“The food is delicious and the wait staff are the friendliest people I’ve ever met. But the best indicator of authentic and scrumptious Chinese food is to observe the ethnicity of your fellow diners: more than 75% were Chinese, every time we were there. The owners are gracious and kind. We’re definitely going back!!!“
“This place is just around the corner from where I live and we decided to try it. The place is very quiet, not too busy yet because this is new. We ordered like 6-7 types of dishes and we almost finish everything! The food tastes really good! The place is clean and the service is fast. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.“
“Shoutout to Nan Xiang Express for their friendliest crew! The staff here goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome! The pan-fried pork buns are juicy and crispy, while the soup dumplings burst with soupy goodness. We will definitely come back.“
“The noodles are house made and cooked to order. Noodles are hand pulled and you can watch the workers make the noodles fresh! The knife cut noodles are my favorite but the hand pulled noodles is just as good. Noodles have incredible chew and the beef shank is nice and tender and the broth is flavorful yet simple. Their pickled vegetables on the side is amazing and their chili crisp is not spicy but fragrant. Portions are good but price has gone slightly up. My favorite noodle shop in Flushing“
“Chachawan is an amazing Thai food restaurant you’ll absolutely love! Nancy is so helpful and when I am not sure of what I want to eat, she assisted me in choosing the right meal that never fails! Highly recommend the pineapple chicken. Great customer service from Nancy! You will be very delighted to have her serve you. Highly recommended Chachawan! You’ll never regret it! Amazing Thai food. Thanks Nancy for all your help!“
“A cozy Taiwan restaurant in Bayside with high quality price ratio.Highlight: 5 mins to Cross Island Parkway exit 31w.Note: Cash only. Venmo/Zelle not available.Must-try: Lu Rou Fan 卤肉饭,Taiwanese Salt Pepper Popcorn Chicken 盐酥鸡Recommendation: Gua Bao刈包, beef in Niu Rou Mian 牛肉面Food: We ordered Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice), Gua Bao (meat bun), Niu Rou Mian (beef noodles), and salt pepper popcorn chicken. The best part is how tender and soft the meat is, even the fatty parts melt in your mouth. They offer two types of rice, Lu Rou Fan and Khong Rou Fan. Gua Bao uses the same Khong Rou in Khong Rou Fan. Khong Rou is a large piece of meat with fat and lean parts. Gua Bao uses crushed peanuts and sugar on the meat. If you like big bites of meat, you will probably like this texture. Note that it is relatively greasy compared to other dishes. The crispy fried chicken is quite tender, but a bit salty. The beef in the beef noodles is top-notch, sadly the noodles are too soft and lack chewiness. My personal favorite is Lu Rou Fan. It has pickled cucumbers inside with a slightly sour but refreshing taste to balance the greasiness. The sportion of food is another highlight. It is more filling than it looks.Price: It is beyond my expectation. We were so full and even had leftover to bring home, while we spent less than $30 per person.Parking: they have parking lot in front of the restaurant, but spaces are limited.“
“great neighborhood spot, lowkey a hidden gem since it’s not usually that busy so I can get food pretty fast. A good amount of noodles for the price and service was nice. The interior/atmosphere looks modern and cleaner than other restaurants in the area. Beef noodles had rich broth and bouncy mifen. Comes on a wooden tray with three other small pickled vegetables that you can add yourself. The pork burger or 肉夹馍 had a crispy outside and flavorful inside. Table has dried chilis, chili oil, sriracha, and black vinegar to add yourself. Also they do take card here, but had to tip in cash.“
“This location is near my place and I always see it when I pass by. Tonight I felt like stopping by to pick an order to go. The place looks a cool spot to hang with friends and family and super clean and helpful. I skimmed thru the menu quick and the Karaage Curry caught my eye since it was a curry dish !!! I must say the food was good! However, it was a big disappointment in which there was no curry ..? Just some sweet sauce drizzled on the chicken katsu. I was really looking forward to this dish/my dinner but the curry was a no show! Kindly can do better with this dish by actually adding the curry sauce!!“
“I love coming here for the beef noodle soup. Taking one star off though because I always order delivery from here when I can’t drive out to Elmhurst and I’ve noticed that they substantially decreased the amount of the fried appetizers (calamari and sweet potato) these past few times I’ve ordered.“
“A hidden gem in the small little food Court.although the smell might be a lil odd , but once's you take a bite it will change your mind. Never ate it at the shop. Always had it to go and it's always great. Full of flavor and the pickle veggies are great. Very nice owner and super accommodating when getting order to go.d Def a 5 .“
“This place is such a gem and easy to miss because it's small and located between a flower shop and QQ Nails. However, my husband and I now frequent this place a lot, especially for takeout, because their food is consistent and they don't skimp out on the meat! Most recently, we ordered the Crab fried rice and I got the papaya salad just because it's my favorite dish of all time. Service is always great and you're greeted with a smile when you pick up your food. We mostly do pickup since it's closeby but we have also sat down to eat when it's summer and sunny!Definitely give this a try the next time you don't feel like cooking! They also have lunch specials!“
“Really like the casual atmosphere where you can just grab your food and sit, enjoy, clean up and leave.Their vegetarian dumplings were so good. That sauce is highly addictive. All vegetarian options I had this day were delicious. The location has a friendly staff and it was a nice place to stop by after hanging out at PS 1.“
“There are lots of great Thai restaurants in the area now, but this one is my new favorite. All our food was delicious. The curry puffs were flaky with a soft filling, the the shrimp red curry was just so flavorful and the calamari was fried to perfection. Definitely bringing the kids back to try this.“
“Tasty balanced meal for a great price. Came around 6pm on a Monday, and was relatively empty. We ordered the Original Crossing Bridge noodles with Beef slices. Food came out piping hot and fast. The noodles also came with tofu, corn, cabbage- making this meal well balanced, which can be rare when eating out. Everything was perfectly cooked and the broth was flavorful- nothing to nitpick at! Great spot for a balanced meal at an affordable price.“
“I've been going to this place for months now (maybe a year) and there was something concerning for the 2 times that I went the 1st moment happened when I found a hair in my soup but coincidentally I had a haircut before hand so maybe it was my hair so I brushed it off. But the second time and this was recent 2 days ago Sunday on 01/14/2024 I was order 266 or 226 I ordered a Tonkatsu ramen and as I was nearing the end of me finishing I happen to find a hair once more. I didn't want to say anything. I didn't want to get reimbursed because normally, this never happens. So I'm just giving a heads up to be more careful serving the food. I wish I had taken a photo of it but I did happen to find a hair in my soup. Just be more careful“
“On Kissena where all the asian restaurants are, this one is the best. I like the spicy pepper and pork stir fried noodles. Delicious noodles great texture, simple dish with a few ingredients and it tastes great. Restaurant is often filled with customers. Staff speak English well.“
“This is one of our favorite spots for dinner- it’s just across the street from home and we can always get a table for two. I’ve been obsessed with their Roti for the last 20 years as I’ve never tasted it’s equal. We’ve slurped down their delicious soups for the last year and I’ve been thinking of being adventurous, so I recently I asked the lovely proprietess for a recommendation. She turned me on to Vietnamese Grilled Chicken marinated with lemongrass and honey garlic (I believe it’s #37 on their menu) with a side of steamed broccoli: HEAVEN. The chicken is tender and juicy, the sauce is tangy and flavorful, so I dip the broccoli in it.My husband enjoys their Sizzling Seafood Delight and we always leave with our plates clean. This unpretentious neighborhood spot is a must try if you’re in Forest Hills. GO!Parking: You can park on Queens Boulevard or pay to park in the Parking lot in the Pinnacle across the street.“
“Handmade noodles tossed in chili oil with a dan dan Seasoning. Dumplings crispy and not oversteamed. The dumpling sauce also not just watered down soy. It's got vinegar sugar and a hint of fish sauce. Hot sauce also is a special mix as well. Lots of flavor. Lots of seating. Doesn't need to be pretty, the food does and it's very tasty“
“The best part of this place is the atmosphere, love all the plants and Vietnamese chachtskis they have laying around. The food comes quick, good portion and they have a ton of unique sauces to pair. The service is usually a trademark bushwick transplant with just a enough tude to get you thru the check out and on to your meal.“
“I like the deep fry chicken thigh and chicken casserole the most. Very traditional and local Hong Kong style food. Definitely will come back and try other dishes again. Rate 4 stars since I’m satisfied with all dishes but no such a dish surprised me.“
“Their wontons and dumplings are meaty and flavorful. The noodles are cooked just right. My favorite is the trio dumpling lo mein. Prices and portions are reasonable. Takeout is ready in 10 minutes. If you want a quick, affordable and filling meal this is the spot to go to.“
“Amazing chicken pad Thai, it was not heavy on my stomach which I had had in different places I ordered pad Thai. Just simply really tasty and fresh. Will definitely order again and if the food is good enough for me to write a review means it was really that great and the food was ready so fast I’m just amazed, the lady who attended me was so sweet and professional, great job sweet basil ? ??“
“We went there on the night of December 3rd. The store is not big but the taste is very good! The chef who cooks the dishes is an authentic Chengdu native. The stir-fried yellow beef is probably the best in Flushing, the Changsha stinky tofu is also very authentic, and the hot and sour rice noodles and spicy mix are very fragrant! The spiciness is still there, so it’s recommended not to try medium or hotter than the first time you come here (unless you’re confident that you can eat spicy food). The stinky tofu is crispy and chewy. Most importantly, the guy who served us, Nino, was very polite, enthusiastic and sincere. After we tried to ask for spicy ingredients (because it was so delicious!), he generously gave us a lot of it, and carefully introduced how to use it to make it delicious. In order to pursue perfection, he also gave us sesame sauce, regardless of what we asked for during the whole process. He helped us solve everything one by one. In short, I highly recommend this restaurant, whether you eat by yourself or bring friends. By the way, they are closed on Monday.“
“Yum yum yummm. As a Taiwanese person, I loveeee the basil mayo sauce with the large popcorn chicken. It’s a total delight after a long workout at the climbing gym too. I also reccomend the ru rou fan (marinated pork) on a bed of rice a with half an egg and scallions“
