“The desserts we had were exceptionally good. This was the best part of the meal. The scallop crudo was small, boring and expensive. The half-chicken main course was very good, and was enough to split between 2 people, but required at least one of them to be good at disassembling a chicken. The atmosphere was very loud. The place is toddler friendly, which is great if you have a toddler, and not so great if you do not. The restaurant is very popular, so reservations are a must. If you are hip and cool, you will probably enjoy it more than I did. It was not bad, but IMO it is a bit over-rated, as the only truly standout dishes we had were the desserts, and they were fantastic. Also, the bread was very very good. The drinks were OK. The price was a bit too high for what were served, in general. Mostly, it was just too loud for eating, for me. I am glad we tried it. 4 stars because- why not? I do not run down a decent restaurant with excellent service that is trying very hard just because it does not suit me.“

“Just went for the first time for my boyfriends brother's birthday. I got zaatar salmon and it was very good. Service was good, the apps were good. No complaints.“

“Love this restaurant. Our fried green tomato and whipped feta apps were great. Hubby really enjoyed the burnt ends. I did not enjoy the fried mushrooms and wish I had ordered something else. Lovely watermelon mocktail and NA sparkling rose. Will definitely be back, will just order a different entree.“

“An excellent little distillery adjacent to a beautiful river outlook. The location of this spot is very special - in the fall, you can sit outside and watch birds and deer use the river, enjoy the beautiful foliage as this is tucked into the forest. It’s also right between a bunch of similar businesses on a mini winery and cidery crawl - Bruysnwick and Whitecliff wineries as well as angry orchard cidery sit within 10-15 minutes of this spot. They have a food truck that offers tacos while we were there, and if it’s too cold or crowded the indoor bar is wonderful and has an old pub feel with local art on the wall.

Tuthilltown is apparently New York’s first legal distillery - they sell recognizable bottles of rye and bourbon you will see throughout New York, but have a couple of distillery exclusives that can only be bought here. Overall we found the bourbons and ryes a mixed bag - some good, some bad. A couple were incredible and we took some of the samples home as well. If you’re in a group and want to make a purchase of a bottle, a great option is the tasting kit - at $20 for 6 tasters, it’s a great, cost effective way of trying things out before you buy them. I can’t recommend this spot strongly enough, I’ll definitely be back to try some cocktails and more bourbons!“

“I was out today riding my motorcycle over the mountain and stopped in for a twist cone. Your chocolate and vanilla ice cream is so rich in flavor. I remember if correctly it was called Juergen's Place back in the 1960's.“

“Yesterday we passed by this brewery and decided to go in. Inside the room is average size, what I didn't really like is that there is no design, it's just a boring room with tables. The bar counter was served by a nice and professional young Asian lady. My husband and I always try flights, here the flight consisted of 3 types of beer, the volume was not small, I still prefer when the flight is 5-6 types, but smaller in size, so I can choose a larger amount of future purchase. We sat outside, there were several large wooden tables with umbrellas. The territory was also simple, without design, looked a little unkempt. There was a music group preparing for a performance, but we left without having time to listen. I really like live music in such places. Of the 3 types of beer, I liked 2, my husband liked 1, we bought a type of beer to take with us that we had not tried and it turned out to be not bad. The prices are average.“

“I booked a private event for my wife's surprise birthday party. I live in another state, so it would have been very hard to get there and plan nitty gritty details. The staff planned everything from the tent, food, and setup. This took a lot off my mind.

I really recommend this place for events big and small. The atmosphere and food can't be beat, and my wife has assured me that she has never had a nicer birthday party. Highly recommended for unorthodox surprise parties, if that's what you're looking to do.

Food got rave reviews from all who attended, and the Cider was fantastic.

“Such an amazing afternoon at Minards with friends! We came with our 7 (combined) kids - who are 3-14 years old- And seriously, every single one of the kids had a blast, as did the parents! It’s a great set up for your kids to play while the grownups hang out nearby hand can enjoy a beverage or two. Angie and Jason were WONDERFUL hosts - which is kind of wild because my assumption is that the owners would generally oversee from some sort of ivory tower, but nope! They are right there “in it” with all the customers visiting for the day. I won’t lie- I love it and they are awesome people. My 7 year old is currently directing me to give them a 10 star review and is NOT happy that 5 is the max amount allowed. The parking lot was full of lots of jersey and Pennsylvania plates and that’s awesome- but more locals need to come spend a day here because it was an awesome experience for all! Also worth noting- I know places like this can be incredibly overwhelming for kids who may be neurodiverse and not thrilled with sensory overload. If you do come and try a day hanging out here- look for Angie (Incredibly friendly, very pretty blonde - can’t miss her!) and introduce her to your little one. Her whole background is in taking care of kiddos just like yours and she’s like a sorcerer with making them feel comfortable and not overwhelmed! All I can say is WOW 🤩 . Left with full bellies . The mocha latte was the best latte I ever had. The rest of the food was so fresh you will leave feeling full but not that gross full feeling . “Saltbox is the bar where you go in for one drink and suddenly it’s three hours later.

Molly, the GM, bartender, event coordinator extraordinaire, is an absolute angel. I’ve done pop-ups there and she has always been ridiculously supportive, cool and easy to work with. The whole staff is great and you can tell they care about making Saltbox a community space.

Basically, Saltbox has no business being this charming and cute.

10/10. Would accidentally stay all night again… I’m honestly probably there right now..“
