“Never tried this restaurant before but was driving by and stopped for lunch. Very pretty and clean restaurant. Food was amazing. They hand make their pasta and I heard them pounding my veal which ate like butter. My boyfriend had squid ink pasta with seafood and he said it was incredible. Staff is super nice and friendly. “My wife and I stopped here in Oct 2021 on our way up to Connecticut after a 5 hour flight from Las Vegas to JFK and battling NYC traffic after getting the rental car. After a full day of traveling, she and I were both exhausted and hungry. The restaurant itself and the pizza were absolutely awesome. I only gave service 3 stars because they wouldn’t let my wife use the restroom. I can’t remember why. Overall, I’d come back. The pizza and the staff were both awesome. “This is just one of those quiet best kept secrets. You feel like you've gone back to Italy somewhere in the country. Everything is made there. I mean from the pasta to the bread. Fabulous food. “Wow, this is a hidden treasure. The food is out of this world. Seafood, I'm a lover of seafood and they know how to cook it. Tender like pasta on the bite. I'm reluctant to post this in fear they will always be booked full and not be able to get a seat. Being front NY and eating at a lot of great places. This Italian restaurant in CT is tops! I'll be back. Just be aware that the parking is limited. Make sure you come early to be a spot parking and at the table. If you're coming as a group, please share a ride with others, so the rest of us can also enjoy a table. ? “

“Awesome place to gather up.Good food, music, & environment.The dining area is situated in its own area, while the bar offers plenty of room.I frequent this restaurant and my only complaint if you will is where the pool ? table is situated.It's frustrating when you have to use a short stick v regular cue.Not the biggest deal in the world, but I am a pool player. Which btw so is the owner ... beware! He's good ? lol.Parking: Plentiful & easy.Kid-friendliness: The outdoor patio will keep them occupied..Yes kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Stairs both sides of the entry. The trick to avoid is go in from rear entrance where the out door patio is. Right side of building when facing it.“

“My husband and I are both Italian and we completely loved everything from walking in the door to leaving!! The food was beyond perfect and our servers were extremely personable and attentive. The overall dining experience was amazing and the ambiance is great! I am an “artichoke aficionado” and the Carcioffi Fritti appetizer was perfect. The Pappardelle Bolognese was excellent and the Vitelli Funghi was so good (I got it with Chicken instead). Their sea salt caramel gelato was the best we have ever had. We will definitely add this to our fine dining list!“

“If you're going to get a flat tire, I strongly recommend that you get one on NY-22, right in front of this deli, as I did. The staff are lovely (a man and his mother) and speak Italian to one another. They make their own mozzarella, soup, and at least some pastries, if not all. Cannoli are filled to order and excellent. Another pastry (crostata?), cut into squares with a shortbread-like crust, cherry jam and chocolate was even more spectacular and something that I *must* come back for. The man told me it was homemade. The sfogliatelle pastry was a little tough and stale, but the thick, ricotta-rich filling was delicious. To be fair, these things have a very short shelf life. I gave it a few minutes in the toaster oven when I finally made it home and the texture was far improved. The son patiently answered my questions [e.g. how to properly pronounce "sfogliatelle," how much the fresh mozzarella costs (about $11 / lb)] and the mother kindly warmed up some pasta e fagioli for me. Sandwiches seem to be the focus here -- the menu is vast! -- but I sorely needed the warm-you-from-the-inside-out comfort of soup at that moment. The rich broth full of red beans, potatoes, and carrots absolutely hit the spot. It's too bad that it took a flat tire to get me in this place. We've been driving by for years and have clearly been missing out all this time!“

“Amazing place, with excellent quality of food and service. I went with a group of 5 people and one of them was so picky on everything but couldn’t say nothing bad. “4 of us went on Saturday night on a friend's recommendation. It was absolutely fabulous! Everything about it was exceptional; food was delicious, service perfect, staff so friendly . We don't eat out much because we are usually disappointed, but our meals were exceptional. What I truly appreciated was not being rushed out the door. We were not given the check until we asked for it in true, customary European fashion. “BEST EXPERIENCE!! PLEASE EAT HERE!! When I was 10 years old, I fell upon terrible misfortune and found myself homeless on the streets of Great Plain Road. An angel of a man, I believe he is the owner, answered my prayers and talked to me for about 20 min about the meaning of life and the mechanisms of our reality. I was STUNNED, and AFTER AN HOUR I FINALLY came to. Upon regaining consciousness, He proceeded to laugh and say “oh you’re hungry huh”. At this point he told me my pizza had 10 minutes left until it was ready. Had I requested a pizza? What was the purpose of my existence at this point, anyways? He ushered me into the platonic ideal of a pizza shop, and once arrived I asked what had been happening. The owner's wife greeted me, and did not attempt to assault me. The Saviour himself refused what little money I had on my person, and furnished to me a pizza beyond comprehension. Time distorted, and I found God. I have never had an experience like this at ANY restaurant or pizzeria or ANYWHERE. They were even willing to give me a permanent residence at their restaurant with unlimited pizzas for the rest of my life. THEY WERE VERY UNAGGRESSIVE AND THREATENED TO CALL ME THEIR SON. 5/5.Kid-friendliness: Y'all ready know.“

“My husband and I recently tried this place - it’s a bit of a drive for us but we love trying new places and this one came highly recommended. I also love a good fireplace atmosphere and La Vista did not disappoint - ambiance is warm and romantic. Service is 10/10. We had apps, entrees and dessert - all an absolute 10/10 all of the food just wow! We had Cappuccinos with dessert probably the best cappuccino I’ve had at a restaurant in recent years - that’s how I expect (hope) cappuccinos to taste every time. My only complaint is about the wine. Really nice wine, smooth and delish but I would have liked a full pour. The pour was small, probably the smallest I’ve seen out and the waiter spilled a quarter of it on the table with no apology. Being such a small pour I was disappointed to have some of it on the table. For that reason I did not order a second glass. A bit of a drive for us but if we are in that area again will certainly return.“
