“I came here a friend and had 2 rolls (salmon and tuna), one sea urchin, and one wagyu single piece. All the food was incredible. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life. My friend had 2 vegetarian rolls, which both were delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys higher quality sushi, especially at lunch since they have some discounted rolls.“

“Went for lunch and I found the food, service, and atmosphere all to be good but not amazing or mind-blowing, and wasn't convinced about the Michelin star.

The fish was good quality, and so was the rice, although I felt it was a bit under seasoned. The chef did use salt as a topping/between the fish and the rice, and while it worked in some pieces, it couldn't always make up for the under seasoned rice. The appetizers and the tamago were also underwhelming. Okay but nothing spectacular.

I also found the service to be a little cold and stuffy at times. That works fine at a fast paced Omakase counter but not so much otherwise.

There's definitely better spots in the city that deliver a more memorable experience while still honoring tradition. Still, worth checking out at least once!“

“A lot of good things about this place such as decor and our chef. Loved how he actually cares about each piece he makes and has such a pleasant mannerism (tho the overall vibe of the service was awkward and slightly cold in the beginning). We liked a lot of the pieces: quite fresh and diverse altho some of them taste Americanized and heavier (the truffle and the heavier sauce applied, for example). The service improved along the way tho. And the restroom can def be a bit more aligned with the decor outside.“

The beef with Chinese broccoli was also excellent. The beef was tender and flavorful, the Chinese broccoli was crisp and fresh, and the sauce was rich and savory without being too heavy. My daughter especially loves the beef with Chinese broccoli — it’s one of her favorite dishes!

“My mind is blown. My 2nd lifetime omakase. I always had an aversion for raw food. But yolo so I tried bc my date loves it. Well I’m a changed woman. Every bite was delish. I previous left a comment about the ribeye in my ribeye pho being raw. I apologize for that comment as I had not realized at the time that is how it would typically be served. “First off, I absolutely love Yellowstone Sushi! I’ve always ordered sushi rolls here because they’re consistently fresh and delicious. Tonight I decided to be a little adventurous and try sashimi for the first time. I ordered the sashimi appetizer, not realizing it’s normally an assortment of different fish, and I had requested only salmon.

They called me to explain the menu and, as a one time courtesy because I didn’t know, they kindly offered to make it with just tuna and salmon instead. I want to be clear that this was a special accommodation they made for me and not something they normally offer.

I thought that was incredibly thoughtful and such wonderful customer service. They took the time to call, explain everything, and make sure I had a great first sashimi experience instead of just sending the standard order.

Thank you so much for your kindness! It truly meant a lot. I already love your sushi, and now I can’t wait to try sashimi for the first time. You’ve definitely earned another loyal customer! ❤️

“Another amazing dinner from Katsuno. Our favorite authentic Japanese restaurant in NYC came through for us once again, this time with take-out. Tonight we had the Tuna Avocado Salad, Nigiri Sushi, Pork Hirekatsu, and Tempura Udon. All served with a refreshing can of Funaguchi Kikusui Sake. Everything was fresh and delicious as always and served curbside in a safe no contact manner. Thank you Katsuno!“

“Went to 2 other omakase spots as a solo diner and was turned away for not having a reservation. Then found bondi and they were so kind and made room! The chef was fun and explained everything to me and the sushi was incredible. 12 courses with a great hand roll special 5 for $40. Can’t wait to come back!“

The cashier/staff was very welcoming and great with recommendations. I got a mango tango, dragon roll, spicy salmon, and spicy tuna. It seems like there are regulars in this small place but i can see why. They are speedy for a quick lunch break.

“Awesome (Chicken) Katsu Curry. Got it while visiting a friend and already planning on getting it again next time I’m in town. Super friendly staff. Got it to go and they had the chicken, rice, and curry all organized and separated so it didn’t get mushy in transport. A great sign that they take pride in the quality of their food.“

You should feel full after eating a good Omakase set. That being said, the atmosphere is unique for NYC. “Caught a live tuna cutting show today 🐟🔪 This tuna was massive — around 350 lbs. Watching the chef break it down right in front of you was such a show before the meal even started.

“This place is a hidden GEM. I just ordered pickup here for lunch today, Tuesday June 30th, and I was absolutely blown away. Two rolls, the Spicy Salmon Avocado and the Ocean Roll, and they were so fresh and perfectly balanced. It was literally up there in quality with the fine dining sushi place I once worked at, called Zuma, which is Manhattan. They melted in my mouth. They could even stand toe to toe with sushi I've had at fish markets in Tokyo. Unbelievable. Blew way past my expectations.“
