“I LOVE Ishi so much... This was my favorite omakase experience in NYC! Brought my parents here for their anniversary and their first ever Omakase. The ambiance is lovely. The interior is warm, inviting and intimate. Staff is very welcoming. The food is AMAZING and high quality. Every single piece was delicious and we were so impressed. I will definitely be back. There are so many great omakase places in NYC but this was the first that made me want to revisit even without a special occasion to celebrate.Thank you to the team at Ishi for such a wonderful experience!“

“Fabulous date night at Nami Nori. We both order the signature set which was phenomenal. Every piece was creative, so fresh and better than the last. We shared the tempura misto, wasabi cucumber tataki and the spicy tuna dip. The wasabi cucumber was a great choice and the green that we needed for the meal. Could have passed on the tempura. I loved the spicy tuna dip but my boyfriend said he rather grab more handrolls next time. We also got the mochurros and tbh, it's a pass for us. The WBurg location has a liquor license and the fun cocktails are not to be missed! Im not a fan of lychee martinis and my boyfriend ordered one off the menu and it was probably the best ones I've had. Attentive staff and such a beautiful venue. It's always so hard to get reservations but we saw plenty of open seats on a Saturday around 730/peak dinner, so definitely try walking in.“

“Hidden Pearl is a true Brooklyn oasis. With tropical Japanese vibes, records on the turntable, and a top-notch staff, there's not a better date spot in Greenpoint—especially when the sun is still streaming in through the skylight! The cocktails are vibrant and refreshing, packing a flavorful punch I have been craving this summer. Highly recommend!“

“Okay so the prices are little high, the hours a little annoying but the food is great, incredible even. Love the variety of the grab and go sections. Would be an every day thing if it wasn't for the prices (which really aren't THAT crazy but just slightly higher than I'd want) but i'll settle for a little treat for myself every now and then.“

“Easily one of the best omakase in the city. The otsumami was fantastic, and I really the nigiri. The rice is very unique. Loved the flavor. It’s also a perfect ambiance. High end but relaxed. People talking and laughing. Not the silent / formal vibe you get at some spots in Tokyo and nyc. (Which I always find kinda weird)“

“Had nice lunch with my family on not too crowded Sunday afternoon around 12.30 pm. I got their ramen and chicken karaage for my kids. They also serve fresh orange juice for the kids! My wife and I had omakase sushi, sweet diablo rolls and their filet mignon (surprisingly, they serve it with something puree NOT ordinary mashed potatoes like everyone else). their octopus appetizer and their scallop appetizer with truffle are very very delicious! Will be back again to try their other food!“

“This place does not need more reviews but I feel the need to add another to show my support because I think Sushi Lin is the best sushi in Brooklyn. They're constantly improving their selections and the experience and they probably source from the same purveyors as all the top notch sushi restaurants in the city because the quality of the fish here is unparalleled. The first time I had sushi made by Lenny was when he was a sushi chef at Blue Ribbon. It's been more than 10 years since I've been dining with him, and there are several things that have been constant: the amount of care he puts into his food, how hospitable he is, his humility, and that he will always give his customers the best quality and value for what they are paying for.“

“I was intrigued by the concept of this restaurant and I am so glad I tried it out. They hit it out the park with home run flavors and tastes. It’s a tiny little place in Williamsburg that’s worth visiting. Every dish was delicious. Their Spring Jew Egg, the Okonomiyaki, Grilled Caesar Salad and the Sake Kasu Challah were amazing starters that we shared. The Matzoh Ball Ramen was flavorful and perfect with their soy marinated egg. Yummy!! For dessert we had their banana bread pudding and their Japanese Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Just so good!!! Staff was amazingly good!! I highly recommend Shalom Japan!!“

“The experience at this sushi restaurant was truly exceptional! Sylvia, our waitress, played a crucial role in making it so. Not only was the sushi of the highest quality, but Sylvia's attentiveness and knowledge added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. Her warm demeanor made us feel welcome and valued throughout the evening. A dining experience elevated by both exquisit food and outstanding service.“

“Sushi chef was heavy on the fish. Staff were adorably kind. Place is small and neat. Most decent sushi place in the entire neighborhood.I got the salmon dinner and an uni sushi. It comes with a side of either miso soup or salad. I could not finish it and had a cute little to go box for my leftovers.Price is a bit steep since I chose a moderately expensive dish plus the uni which was market price. There are more affordable options on their menu.“

“My favorite ramen joint in New York! Go here on a jazz night if you can, because the ambience with the artists is even more incredible. This is my 3rd time here, and while everything is great, I’d specifically recommend: spicy ramen, spicy tsukemen, oysters mp, and mango kakigori. Between the freshly made noodles and flavorful broths, all of the noodle dishes are the perfect cozy meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the oysters, which came with a yuzu mint vinaigrette that added a bright vibrancy to each oyster. Don’t shy away from getting dessert the end! The shaved ice is a great way to end on a refreshing note without feeling bogged down by sugar. Note that this place fills up quick, so reserve in advance or come early to beat the wait. “On the way to our actual breakfast spot, my brother wanted to stop at his weekly coffee spot. The decor was very homey and definitely gave a Japanese aesthetic. I ordered a Hojicha Latte and it warmed my soul during the chilly bluebird morning. Staff take great care in preparing your drinks and are very friendly! Looking forward to stopping by for another Hojicha Latte, and other breakfast items, when I visit again!“

“Cocktail is great and I recommend the ones with matcha. Seafood is fresh and well done with the combination and flavor. However their hot dishes are ok, such as the tempura rice, grilled soft crab. Wish their hot dishes are as good as other ones!“

“An absolutely wonderful dining experience. The ambiance was nice - minimalist Japanese decor, wood tones, and music that you didn't have to scream over. The food was excellent and not too pricey. I went with a group and we ordered a bottle of sake which came to us in a large ice dispenser for the table which was a surprise and delight (not to mention we got to pick out unique sake cups for ourselves). The wait staff was friendly and informative. Will definitely be returning“

“Giving it a 4 stars because the effort and intent was there, but the Miso ramen was unfortunately too rich for my tastes and I couldn't finish the broth, although the wavy noodles were perfect, very Q. The Karaage was some of the best I've ever had - it came out quickly and straight out of the fryer and it was melting in my mouth. One waitress was working the whole restaurant and was doing a fantastic job. 5 star service for sure.“

“I came here for my 3 year anniversary dinner and was not disappointed! The cowboy roll was amazing, definitely the best sushi I’ve had in Ridgewood ! (I’ve lived here all my life - 20 years) Both the NY strip steak and filet mignon were amazing also. Everything was well cooked, seasoned , and plated and all the ingredients were very fresh! We also had hibachi fried rice which was delicious as well and the tempura green tea ice cream did not disappoint. We ordered a lot and really enjoyed everything we had. The service was good and the ambiance is cute for a date or outing with friends. Definitely will be coming back and ordering takeout soon!“

“Was in the area and stopped by randomly for some food. I meant to look at reviews first but forgot. “Great place, they use proper rice not the cheap white rice most places use. They don't over stuff their rolls with the rice either. Fish is fresh, everyone is very attentive and polite. “The staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming. This was my first experience doing Japanese Style BBQ where a server helps prepare the meat for you, and they made the experience very special. Both the server and the chef, who was preparing the cuts of meat for us in an open style serving area, would introduce the cut and the kind of sauce or condiment it goes well with, while giving enough time for us to chat and eat before coming back with the next round of cuts. Overall the service, cuts of meat, quality, atmosphere, and service were excellent and I can’t wait to go back again!“

“It’s been a while for me eating at this location and my server, Wen made me feel like I never left. She’s very attentive and patient. I was craving this rice dish but forgot its name and she automatically knew it’s the Mushroom Rissoto. She’s an asset to the team. Will be back! She has a great smile and very understanding and very patient. I’ve been to Restaurant in different part of the world but she make me feel like I was visiting someone’s house. It didn’t feel like I was in a restaurant. If I had my own restaurant, this would be one person they’d be working in my restaurant not as a server, but it’s a manager we need more quality people like that. I took my time eating what I order I just wanna enjoy every moment of it. Of my food I think her made the taste, much much better, and that’s important.for meI don’t know what is her schedule but it’d be nice if you want the same experience I had you could call the restaurant and ask what days is she works that would be my advice I hope that the person in charge of the owner realize what they have they value her service and give a better position if she wants you guys be the judge of that when you get there, but I guarantee satisfaction bon appétit“

“I order pickup here almost exclusively when craving sushi and it's definitely the best in the area. That said, some things on the menu just shouldn't be on there at all. If you're going for the first time the standouts are spicy girl roll, rockstar roll, firecracker shrimp app, and any of the classic sushi rolls.“

“I came here around 3 times and the only reason we don't come here more often is because we live in queens and it takes 1.5h to get here by train but it was worth the travel. This is my first omakase experience and it had set the bar way too high. I've been to other omakase locations that is twice as expensive but I still gear toward location. You just can't beat their price for the quality you get and you also get ice cream at the end. There are two options: only sushi or sushi and sashimi. The ambiance, food quality and service are all great. If you are doing omakase you should do bar seating but they do offer it if you sit on the dinning tables. They do also have normal menu of omakase is not your cup of tea but I didn't try since every time I went straight for the omakase spot. But be careful, they have another location that is very close to this one, like 11pm walk apart. My very first time I went to their other location by mistake while my bf went to this location and got so confused why we don't see each other when we both already arrived.“

“We went here for my wife's birthday lunch and it was impressive. Firstly, it's hard to find restaurants that are stroller friendly in the city, but this place might be the most stroller friendly one in Park Slope. The tables were far apart and could easily accommodate our Vista stroller which isn't a small stroller. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was as good as I remember but the real standout was their lunch special. Unbelievable value of 10 exceptional pieces with the Toro and Salmon with dill sauce being my favorites. The staff here are so nice as always. I look forward to coming back here.Kid-friendliness: The most stroller and wheelchair friendly restaurant I've been to in Park Slope. There's a lot of space between the tables and more than enough space to accommodate everyone's needs.“

“The bartender was attentive, kind, chill, knowledgeable. Drinks were great. I came after my session of hot yoga next door. Instead of being responsible and going to the grocery store, I decided I needed a cocktail. The music was great, the other patrons were also very low key and chill. I had their HH martini in gin and then in vodka. Great deal and served with a pickled shallot (nostalgic for me and a fave).“

“Sushi yoshi was one of the only spots open before noon so we gave it a shot! Everything was fresh - exactly what you might want from the spicy rolls and the eel avocado was definitely our favorite. Don’t sleep on the Korean fried wings - the texture was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We were hoping for the spicy wings but got original instead I think - either way they were quality and delivery was fast.“

“If you are a true sushi lover, you would love omakase . This place never fails. When you get here, try to get seats at the bar so you can experience the full experience of the chef's choice. You get to choose from an array of different types of pieces and appetizers. The chefs never disappoint. They're always thinking of some new ways to be creative. The fish is so fresh and literally melts in your mouth the chef's place each piece with a special sauce so you don't feel the need to dip your sushi into any spicy mayo or eel sauce or wasabi or soy sauce. It's absolutely amazing is the salmon teriyaki with rice on the side. if you're not a huge Sushi fan, this is a great alternative.“

“Williamsburg is such an influential hub for foodies, art lovers, musicians alike! Salt + Charcoal looks impressive from the get go. Expensive? Yes! We loved the appetizers and drinks. Ambiance is good and Service is also top notch. We tried the Porterhouse dry aged steak but it wasn't for us. We thought that it was also pricey for the portion. We should have ordered a regular steak instead. Will I come back? Maybe? But just for light bites and cocktails. If $$$ is not an issue, then go ahead and experience the place for yourselves. Not too bad.“

“After walking by this place with our dog, we noticed a crowd and a delicious smell wafting. We decided to come back a few days later and were surprised to find the restaurant was bigger than expected! It overflowed into the back, with quaint music and a little waterfall. Ambiance was quickly approved! We ordered the house sake to share (and got another later to go with dessert). We were really hungry and started off with the Tuna Tataki ($11) which we sadly forgot to take a picture of. Again, super hungry, and it looked delish. It was perfectly seasoned, not too salty but ample pepper. There was a lovely vermicelli noodle salad underneath that was actually edible and delicious! So many vermicelli noodle bases at other places are just for show and too hard to eat. You could tell they marinated their noodles and meant them to be eaten. Bravo. After eating our app, we then placed the rest of our order. We wanted to wait since we were so famished and didn't want to over order! My partner ordered the Yaki Soba with Beef, and we ordered two special rolls to share - Mango Dancing Roll and Yamashiro Wasabi Roll. The soba noodles was an ample portion which we considered taking half home to leave room to order some sashimi, but he loved it so much, he devoured it all. The two special rolls were abundant in size and had 8 pieces each. Both were sooo flavorful and full of texture, a necessity to make sure you're not just eating mush. Our favorite was definitely the mango roll, it had so much flavor and the crunchy spicy tuna and yellowtail were just... wow. The other roll was an entirely different flavor palette with whole fish pieces, so they complimented each other really well. We had planned to order more, but the portions were plentiful, so we decided to close with just another sake and some mochi. The freshness was beyond evident. We're normally sashimi people, but with their specialty rolls knocking it out of the park and at a great price, we're excited to come back and try more of their specialty rolls. Definitely excited to add this to our favorite neighborhood restaurants list. Myrtle Ave has so many gems.“
