“I came here a friend and had 2 rolls (salmon and tuna), one sea urchin, and one wagyu single piece. All the food was incredible. Some of the best sushi I've had in my life. My friend had 2 vegetarian rolls, which both were delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys higher quality sushi, especially at lunch since they have some discounted rolls.“

We got the crudo, pork loin, mandu, scallop, and ramen and each was a hit in their own way. Really loved the mandu for being equally Korean and Japanese stylistically (the tuile is very clever!), and the scallop was the best I've had in a long, long time.

“A lot of good things about this place such as decor and our chef. Loved how he actually cares about each piece he makes and has such a pleasant mannerism (tho the overall vibe of the service was awkward and slightly cold in the beginning). We liked a lot of the pieces: quite fresh and diverse altho some of them taste Americanized and heavier (the truffle and the heavier sauce applied, for example). The service improved along the way tho. And the restroom can def be a bit more aligned with the decor outside.“

“This was the coolest and most unique dining experience I’ve ever had. It was also the most expensive I’ve ever done, but by the end I was convinced it was worth every penny and they could be charging a lot more and it’d still be worth it.

I went for my partners birthday and two others were celebrating their birthday and the dessert course (which was insane how good it was) had a candle and they brought little cocktails to everyone and we all cheered to the birthday people by name.

We got the alcohol beverage pairing which I highly recommend. First cocktail is shown here and then a few more of the glasses.

Service was impeccable and genuine. Especially Kiyomi (guessing on spelling), her warmth and kind banter put us at ease and we were talking about her all night.

“The place specializes in a 12-piece Omakase set that is paired with different types of salt and DYI hand roll. The quality of the fish is very good, although the set itself is not very filling. You should feel full after eating a good Omakase set. That being said, the atmosphere is unique for NYC. I feel it tries a little too hard to be avant-garde, but if you like that sort of effort then you will enjoy your experience there.“

The flavor was so rich, the noodles were perfect and the tempura is on the side so it doesn’t get soggy. I will be back. “I really enjoyed the tasting menu here and the amazing service really made it a wonderful experience. My favorites were the chawanmushi that had such a soft texture and was very comforting. Firefly squid had excellent texture and was a satisfying bite. Little neck clam soup with the meatball was subtle in flavor but the meatball was very interesting with perfectly cooked clams inside. I also really enjoyed the sashimi, fried fish, abalone and the stingray cheeks. The chef put in a lot of attention to detail and it really reflected that in how well balanced everything tasted and was presented. Service was excellent and the server explained everything and was attentive.

We were here for a Sunday dinner and I was surprised we were the only party here at 6pm. This place is so good and really needs to be discovered by more people! Their menu changes monthly so I'm looking forward to coming back again!“

The peach fruit tea was my favorite, large cup and not too sweet.

Gyu don - loved the shredded beef. Thinly sliced the way it is supposed to be. Generous portion. Rice is unflavored and mushy.

Niku udon - tastes authentic.

Tako wasabi - very tiny bowl. Tastes good.

Overall very reasonably priced for NYC. The mains are below $20.

Waitstaff are not the most friendly but I think they’re doing what they can to manage the crowd.

“Caught a live tuna cutting show today 🐟🔪 This tuna was massive — around 350 lbs. Watching the chef break it down right in front of you was such a show before the meal even started.

Then the taste test… the tuna literally melted in my mouth. You could tell it was fresh off the cut — sweet, clean, zero fishiness.

If you’re in the area, this one’s worth it, especially if you’re into quality sashimi/tuna. Absolutely worth the hype ✨“

I previous left a comment about the ribeye in my ribeye pho being raw. I apologize for that comment as I had not realized at the time that is how it would typically be served. “Went for lunch and I found the food, service, and atmosphere all to be good but not amazing or mind-blowing, and wasn't convinced about the Michelin star.

The fish was good quality, and so was the rice, although I felt it was a bit under seasoned. The chef did use salt as a topping/between the fish and the rice, and while it worked in some pieces, it couldn't always make up for the under seasoned rice. The appetizers and the tamago were also underwhelming. Okay but nothing spectacular.

I also found the service to be a little cold and stuffy at times. That works fine at a fast paced Omakase counter but not so much otherwise.

There's definitely better spots in the city that deliver a more memorable experience while still honoring tradition. Still, worth checking out at least once!“

“Ordered the vegan ramen, the noodles were tasty, the broth was rich and thick but too salty (I usually finish the broth, but I couldn't for this one even though I really wanted to). The menma was also really tough to chew/be separated from the block, so I couldn't eat them at all. I think, instead of being chopped on block, thin slices would be easier to eat.
