“Kitchen Kabaret was such a great find, and I’m so glad we stopped in. We went on a friend’s recommendation while heading to a Cowboys–Giants game, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The place has a really cool vibe and an impressive variety of food options—especially for breakfast—so there’s truly something for everyone.
I ordered a pastrami sandwich with eggs and Swiss, and it was delicious. The pastrami was flavorful, the eggs were perfectly cooked, and the bread was soft, fresh, and held everything together beautifully. It was one of those meals that hits the spot and sticks with you (in the best way).
The cappuccino was decent—not the star of the show—but totally fine alongside the meal. What really stood out was the service: fast, friendly, and efficient, even though the place was packed. That says a lot. You can tell this is a popular spot for a reason.

“I just ordered a spicy Italian footlong at 2:45pm. The food and service were both great.

It was raining outside and the woman who made the food was very nice when I explained to her I was waiting inside for the cab. I asked her to write down her name on a piece of paper to do this review, although the paper was ruined due to rain.

“They make a really good sandwich here. Delicious traditional (and several imaginative) sandwiches round out a nice menu of choices that also includes salads. The Country Fried Chicken sandwich and the Cuban sandwich are excellent and portions seemed generous. My other half and I split a Country Fried Chicken sandwich on one visit and it was the perfect lunch.

Though there is limited seating, this is a take-out place, albeit mid- to high-end take-out (think Diner Boys). It is not inexpensive, but then you're not eating Jersey Mike's or Subway sandwiches here; while the dining area here is similar to those type of places, the quality, taste and style of these sandwiches are well above them. We felt the pricing was a bit high for what is a primarily take-out place, but we plan to go back to see about the raves on the Philly Cheese Steak and the Crispy Chicken alla Vodka, which we didn't try on our initial visit.

One thing to note if you don't order ahead: you'll wait longer than you might expect, especially for sandwiches like the fried chicken, which is obviously prepared fresh when ordered. We came at a completely quiet time (7:20p), and were just about to the point of asking when we'd get our order when it came out.

While the service was fine for counter service, we didn't experience the same level of service some reviews here have mentioned; it was simply a counter transaction.

Parking is street parking only, and is limited; we got there just in time to get one last available space on Merrick Rd directly in front of the business (there is a fire hydrant there, which limits the storefront to about 3 spaces). While there were a couple of spaces available on the side street, that was about all there was. I don't think I'd want to have to try parking there or crossing against traffic during rush hour, when this section of Merrick Road is jammed.“

“I've had half way decent experiences at a couple Jersey Mike's in the past. I was visiting a friend and we decided to get some, I tried the buffalo chicken cheesteak for the first time and it was easily one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, so good! A couple weeks later I went to a different jersey Mike's local to me, craving the buffalo chicken and it was not great maybe a 3/5. It had none of the flavor I remember enjoying so much and overall it just missed the mark of what the East Meadow chain delivered. My friend who frequents the East Meadow one says they're always consistent and tasty, so I have to imagine my amazing sandwich there wasn't a fluke. If you're deciding which location to visit, this is the one.“

“Jersey mikes may technically be a fast food sandwich chain along with subway, blimpie, Quiznos and all that. But they are far cleaner and they slice their meat to order. Besides all that, they make a fantastic Italian. This jersey mikes is particularly well kept and the people I’ve interacted with so far have been very nice. As far as Italians go, theirs is delicious, even compared with local delis and other restaurants. It’s just really surprisingly good.“
