“The food here is absolutely fantastic. The uni series is a must-order, and the washu katsu omurice completely blew me away — easily one of the best things I’ve had in a long time. The green tea cheesecake is delicious too. The staff are all lovely, and you can see why this place stays so busy. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t wait for their winter special. Highly recommend!🤤“

“Fantastic speakeasy sushi joint. Very small, no more than an handful of people may join the omasake style bar where 3 talented (and cool) chefs serve you the best crafted sushi you can get. Definitely going back soon.“

“We ordered the Duck Shio Soba and Salmon Ikura Soba. The food was overall good. Wished the Duck Shio was sent out hotter as it arrived lukewarm and took quite some time to come out. The Salmon Ikura Soba on the other hand was great and tasted fresh.
Service was alright. I don’t think our server realized we were waiting over 30 minutes for our food. The overall cost was also a bit steep.“

“Traveled from out of town to see a friend but also maybe mostly to eat the spicy chicken katsu that I’ve dreamt of since Mini Mart/Mama Yoshi’s used to be a pop up at All Night Skate and we would go sit outside in the cold and enjoy the food and a cocktail. Moved out of reach in 2022 and my life has not been complete without the sandwhich I’ve evangelized across several countries and continents. Thankfully as spicy or at least close to as spicy as it has always been. Thanks for keeping the quality and quantity the same and the prices really much closer than I expected. And sick merch per usual.“

“Mr sushi always treats us so well. Excellent white fish complimentary which is a lovely way to begin this exquisitely delicious culinary experience. The staff is sensationally kind and the music just tops it off so well. I would reccomend anyone to come here.“
“Came for the Japanese breakfast. I recommend arriving right at the start or a little before if you don’t want to wait. Food was amazing, a bit pricey but nothing too crazy for what you get, and the atmosphere was energizing. Fun spot to shop at or grab a coffee/tea afterwards as well.“

“Brooklyn native but just moved into this area with my man, so we had to check this place out. Stopped in mid-day for food and drinks and it did not disappoint!
We ordered karaage, hamachi crudo, a roll, shishito peppers, brussel sprouts, scallop ceviche, and the spicy salmon crispy rice. Everything hittt
Had some unfiltered sake and a cocktail.
And Mikey behind the bar was amazing, super attentive, made excellent recommendations, and took care of us the whole time. One of the best food and service experiences we’ve had in Brooklyn.
New neighborhood spot unlocked. We’ll be back.“

“Great service, the food is such a great value when you go for happy hour, but even normal price hand roll set is a good deal. Very tasty sashimi, my favorite were the salmon roll and yellowtail hand roll.
The cold sake was very good for the price.
Server was friendly and attentive.
Would definitely come back!“

“Great value for lunch omakase in the UES. The $49 lunch set comes with an appetizer, 9 pieces of nigiri, miso soup, and dessert, which felt very reasonable for the quality and amount of food.
The fish quality was good, especially the o-toro and salmon belly. I personally prefer a more traditional/simple style of sushi where high-quality ingredients are served with minimal seasoning, and some pieces here had a bit more toppings or flavor combinations than I usually like. That said, everything was well prepared and enjoyable.
The caramel ice cream dessert was surprisingly delicious and a very nice ending to the meal. Overall, a solid and satisfying lunch omakase with great value.“

“Really enjoyed our meal here! Some really stand out dishes, incredible service, and super intimate space.
Some dishes did fall a bit flat (specifically a fish dish that needed a bit more acid to balance it out & desert was a bit underwhelming), but the standouts really stood out to make this a meal worth coming back to. A personal favorite was the Dashi presentation in a wine glass & incredible wagyu beef. Excited to try their next menu!“
“The atmosphere and the service were genuinely incredible! The Martini was also quite special. The food, unfortunately, fell a bit short for us. The sauces that accompanied many of the dishes ended up overpowering the flavors rather than complementing them. The Kabocha was a table favorite. I’m sure I’ll come back for the drinks, though.“

“Can’t say enough good things about this place. Dollar for dollar probably the best restaurant in NYC. Wonderful mix of flavors that elevates omakase beyond just sashimi or nigiri pieces. Perhaps not for the traditionalists but never disappoints“

“This was my 6th or 7th time at Sushi on Me in the past 4 years, which marks it now as the most frequented non-lunch location in all of NYC for my whole dining life. I am a habitual diner - I eat out 6-8 times a week, so believe it when I say that SoM is a remarkable experience - the quality of the prep, the quality of the semi-interactive experience with the chefs - all are superb!“

“Love this place! Excellent service, great food, wonderful environment! I’m going back. Love the moctels!!!!Great experience!“
“We came here after a run club event at a nearby frozen yogurt spot, and right away I noticed just how dark it was inside. I know it's for the atmosphere, but definitely a little hard to see at times. There also isn't much seating inside the restaurant, mostly bar seating with one or two tables with stools, so be prepared to wait if you're coming with a party greater than 4. I really liked how simplistic the menu was and their focus on perfecting the chirashi bowl. We all ordered the $20 option, which came with a variety of fish, scallops, and seafood, and at the end they fill your bowl up with complimentary miso soup to soak up all the leftover rice. Overall, super fast service and great quality food, would recommend if you're ever in the upper east side.“

“I really enjoyed the tasting menu here and the amazing service really made it a wonderful experience. My favorites were the chawanmushi that had such a soft texture and was very comforting. Firefly squid had excellent texture and was a satisfying bite. Little neck clam soup with the meatball was subtle in flavor but the meatball was very interesting with perfectly cooked clams inside. I also really enjoyed the sashimi, fried fish, abalone and the stingray cheeks. The chef put in a lot of attention to detail and it really reflected that in how well balanced everything tasted and was presented. Service was excellent and the server explained everything and was attentive.
We were here for a Sunday dinner and I was surprised we were the only party here at 6pm. This place is so good and really needs to be discovered by more people! Their menu changes monthly so I'm looking forward to coming back again!“

“Such a cute restaurant! The interior is clean and lovely.
I ordered the Japanese matcha fluffy pancakes and the matcha rose iced tea, and both were pretty good! The Japanese-style dishes were not exactly authentic, but still good and enjoyable!
I’d love to come back and try more items from the menu.“

“This place is absolutely amazing! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Every dish tastes authentic — you can tell they use quality ingredients. The orange chicken and fried rice are my favorites, but honestly, everything on the menu is delicious. The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome every time you visit. Service is fast, prices are fair, and the portions are generous. Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants around — highly recommend!“

“Great place for a quick bite at a nice price! I had the Thinly Sliced Beef Donburi. It also came with egg, seaweed salad, and a nice miso soup to top it off. The beef was cooked very well and had a smoky flavor I’ve had in some of my favorite places in Japan. Would definitely come back here! 😁“

“I had a great time at Kaiyo. It has been a go to for me when I want sushi and am in Long Island City. The front of the restaurant is only the sushi counter, so it isn't noisy or distracting. It's a good place to sit and talk over a meal. The sushi is good and it is reasonably priced.“

“Small cozy spot with a relaxed atmosphere. You order at the bar and the service is quick and friendly. No alcohol, but the focus is clearly on the food. The menu is small but thoughtfully put together, and everything feels fresh. The handroll sushi is especially great and definitely worth trying. A nice casual place to stop by when you want quality sushi without the fuss.“
