From the very beginning where we were greeted by the smiling, cheerful hostesses, to our dinner, to the very end when we said our good-byes to the hostesses again, our visit was great!! Our server, Cohen, deserves special mention because he made our dinner a great one!! From his greeting to the end, he was always attentive and courteous but not overly so as some can do! Also, the whole staff deserves a shoot-out because someone was always clearing away plates, etc. Cohen, thank you for all your efforts in making the dinner an enjoyable one!!! We will definitely return to Jack Astor's Barrie in the future!

“I came to the Farmhouse Restaurant for a wedding and it was a lovely and intimate venue with a great b and b upstairs for the bridal party to stay in. The appetizers were delicious and I was hopeful for the meal but my chicken avocado sandwich was a bit dry - asked for extra mayo to help with that. The fries were good, as was the salad, and the chocolate pecan torte was AMAZING! The waitstaff were lovely, so professional, and friendly. Overall, a good experience and a perfect venue for a small wedding!”

“Only 5 stars so people will see this, On August 18th, at approximately 9:16 a.m., while I was using the restroom, an unidentified individual, who appeared to be a white male in his late 50s, violently shook the stall door (to the extent that it seemed it might break) and attempted to open it. Eventually, he somehow managed to open the door and made a gesture indicating that I should leave immediately.
Although I acknowledge that I had been in the stall for some time, I was experiencing stomach pain due to digestive issues and was using the facility for that reason. Even if the other person was in a hurry, such behavior cannot be overlooked.
Furthermore, I am 13 years old, and therefore I inevitably perceive this matter with the utmost seriousness.
If this review is reported and removed, I will proceed to formally raise this issue with McDonald’s. In the past, I have disregarded several problems and instances of unfair treatment, but this matter is something I absolutely cannot overlook.”

“Tried The Caribbean Express recently and honestly, I was impressed. Finding good Caribbean food in Barrie isn’t easy, but this spot gets pretty close to the real thing. The food was flavorful, portions were fair for the price, and everything tasted freshly made.
It’s a small, tucked-away place. Definitely more of a takeout spot, the service is quick and parking was easy. The owners were really kind and down-to-earth.
If you go, I highly recommend the oxtail. Super tender, and don’t forget to ask for extra gravy-makes a huge difference.

“Been to malones many times. Tonight’s experience was horrible which sucked as we raved about malones to our family visiting tonight from out of town. 1 hour wait for 3 sandwiches with fries. Food came, couldn’t even bite into it as the bread was rock hard, lumpy dry crusty stuff floating in the gravy. Waitress didn’t even come by to ask how we were doing. Eventually had to go find her to get 4 slices of bread so we could eat. No apology even though we understood it’s not her fault but no offer to comp our drinks or anything to sub for the poor service and food quality. Normally malones is wonderful hence why we visit often. I really hope this was just a one off. Server could have been more attentive to us as regulars and knowing our sandwiches were not originally edible! Overall we still love malones however we do not want to have this experience again.”

“went to Sakana house location at Big Bay Point with a group of 8 yesterday (Feb3), about 40 minutes into receiving our food, different individuals from our table start finding hair in the food while grabbing it straight from each platter. the first time a hair is found we mention it to the staff and just put aside the food that has a 10" hair in it. then it continues, long hairs, short hairs, black hair, brown hair, etc. each time we show the staff they take it away. after 5 times in a row we stop eating and decide we want to go. we ask to speak to the manager. no manager comes to us. a staff by the name of "Na Na" decides to say she was sorry, but everyone wears hair nets and it's busy...... we walk to the area where staff makes and preps food, not one person is wearing hair nets...... I again ask for a manager to which no one never comes. she then says she'd give us a discount on each bill for the trouble. I paying for 3, with a bill of $134 got a $10 discount for hairy food and we went elsewhere because we were still hungry at we were not there for long..... the table behind us found hair in their food as well, in their first plate. they left right away..... So If you want hairy sushi at full price, go here. I will be calling Food Safety and complaining about this location as well. 0/5 rating!!”

There is a short break at the end of the band but then a DJ comes on both nights for dancing. For the sports people there are multiple TV’s to watch everywhere! The food is delicious, with both the lunch and dinner options being delicious. Most recently I came here for dinner and the kalbi short ribs and pork slices were by far the highlights of the meal. The hot dishes like the General Tao chicken or their sushi deserve a mention too along with the sides and other goodies they offer.
