“I visit here regularly and always enjoy their affordable, authentic Korean Chinese food. Recently, I tried the No. 5 Veggie and Seafood Black Bean Sauce Noodles, and I was thoroughly impressed. The flavors were fantastic.
The cashier is always friendly and adds to the pleasant experience. Highly recommend!“

“I love this place! Their variations in the soup dishes, large portions, and above all, the most generous prices for Korean cuisines I’ve seen in Toronto, are reasons why I order from here every time I’m sick.
I ordered Ddeokguk (Rice Cake Soup) yesterday, and although it wasn’t my first time I ordered it from this place, I always get genuinely surprised by how it’s full of not only rice cakes but nutritious add-ons like eggs, seaweed, and veggies. I would’ve liked it more if they added bone broth, but that’s a minor thing.
I also like that they have a “Soup Only” option for like 2 bucks cheaper. It allows me to not spend more than I need to on something I already have at home.
I would definitely visit here if it was right across my home, but unfortunately 7 out of 10 times when I order from here I’m sick, so I don’t have energy to go😭 I’m surprised that the in-person prices are even lower than UberEats. The pricing on UberEats is already generous!!!“

“I didnt think I would be, but i was impressed with this fried chicken spot. Really tasty crispy fried chicken. We got the soy garlic flavour - so good. We also got the rose tteokbokki and omg the rice cake was so soft and chewy and had an amazing slightly spicy kick to it. Super yummy.“

“The dishes were super flavourful and really hit the spot, with a great variety of comforting noodle options to choose from.
Portions were generous, and everything came out fresh despite how busy the place was. Service was impressively fast and efficient, even with a full restaurant, which made the experience even better.“

“This place is a real gem. It feels like it’s run by a husband-and-wife team, and you can tell there’s a lot of care put into everything. The overall experience is always satisfying, and the jokbal is genuinely really good—tender, flavorful, and consistently well-prepared.
The only minor downside is that parking can be a bit inconvenient, depending on the time you go. But honestly, it’s still worth it, and I find myself coming back often.
If you’re craving solid jokbal with a warm, local vibe, this spot is an easy recommendation.“

“That fried chicken sandwich is currently sitting as my #1 in Toronto, and I've eaten a lot. The fillings, the sauce, the bread, all so good. If you're in the area and you need a lunch, call ahead for a sandwich, will not regret. It is also massive! Their fried chicken is really crispy. It's on my top 5 list for crispiest chicken in the city. Chicken is fresh, oil is fresh. I like that they don't put the sauce on your chicken, that way it won't get soggy on your way home and when you reheat, the sauce won't burn. Their spicy yangnyeom was good, but not the best in town. Their soy garlic was only ok, a bit too runny. Their radishes were also only ok. Their kimchi fries were good, but Banh Mi Boys ironically does that better. But without a doubt, I'm going back for that fried chicken sandwich.
This place is takeout only.“

“As someone who loves the English language and all the words you can use to express feelings, this restaurant reduced me to being someone who can only say “oh my god.” First bite of the tangsuyeok - oh my god. First sip of the hyesik - oh my god. First bite of the jalapeño tuna / creamy crab gimbap.. oh my god! The kimchi, oh my god.
The service was also wonderful, our server was incredibly kind.
I already know I need to come back multiple times to systematically go through the menu. Oh my god!“

“Visited today with friends. Everything we ordered was really good — chicken katsu, cheese braised ribs, and tofu kimchi.
The tofu kimchi was my favorite, it was just really tasty.
The side dishes were also good, the place was spacious and clean, and the server was really friendly. I’d come back again 👍“

“Update:
Today I brought friends here expecting a great experience, as this used to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing.
We asked the server for extra side dishes, and he simply brought them over without mentioning that there would be an additional charge. Later, we noticed a $7 charge per side on the receipt, totaling $21. At no point were we informed about the cost or given an option for portion size.
When we raised the issue, the response made things worse. We were told the receipt couldn’t be changed, the manager wasn’t available, and the staff weren’t trained to use the system. That level of unpreparedness is unacceptable.
It’s really disappointing to see a place I used to recommend go downhill like this. Unfortunately, this was my last visit.
————————————
My go-to spot for Chicken Katsu and Short Rib!
The Chicken Katsu is always perfectly crispy, and the sauce is unbelievably good—rich, tangy, and addictive. Paired with the fresh cabbage salad on the side, it hits all the right notes. The short rib is tender and flavorful, and the rice portion is just right—not too much, not too little.“

“I tired gamjatang about 22 dollars including tax. Pork meat were really chewy and little bit spicy. Potatoes were cooked perfect to go with soup. Soup were little bit spicy for my taste. Portion size were huge for me.

“The first time I tried this authentic Korean restaurant in GTA, and it was great. The mapo style beef was especially good, really spicy but absolutely delicious. The spicy fried chicken is a must order dish. I also loved their kimchi so much. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit.“

“This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem! We came across it randomly. The food was delicious and the hostess was very warm and friendly. There were a lot of options on the menu for such a small place. There are only a few tables but they kindly arranged a table for our group of 9. We will definitely return!“

“We got the basil cream pasta, rose tteokbokki, and the fried chicken tteokbokki. Portions were a little tiny, but food tasted great, lots of flavor and very creamy :), we spent $40. Smt in total, cuz 10% cash discount. The restaurant has very few tables and very little space, tho the staff helped us combine the tables :)“

“I cant peak enough about the food at this place. it's by far the best value for your money. Not only is the food delicious but the portions are very reasonable for the $ they ask. I highly recommend the chicken sandwich.. you'll never go anywhere else for chicken again. Their Kim Bap is really good option. Very fresh and very healthy, my wife lives off them!!“

“Cute Korean restaurant about 3-5 min walk from Finch Subway station. Tip: exit through the passenger pickup area of Finch station if you're walking, that's the closest exit to the restaurant. I came here specifically to try their Ganjang Gejang (raw blue crab marinated in soy sauce), it seems that they might be the only restaurant that serves this dish in Toronto, that I could find and know of. There is a very slight fishy smell when I sniffed it, which is expected since it's raw crab, but when I was eating it, I didn't find it fishy at all, it was really delicious. The crab roe was soft and rich, the meat was smooth and fresh, everything went really well with the rice. I can see why this dish is called a rice thief now. I was really tempted to order another bowl of rice but on account of my diet I stopped myself. I would definitely try this dish again. I also ordered the kimchi stew and my friend got a spicy beef soup. Although it was not as outstanding as the Ganjang Gejang, Both were delicious and portions were good. The side dishes were good as well. Not sure if there's free refills or not since we didn't ask for any. The service was good, it's a smaller shop, seems like it's family owned. People were doing multi jobs so if you wanted more tea or something you have to ask them, they do really try to check up you though and would walk around once in awhile to refill your tea and see how you're doing. Overall a good dining experience, I would come back to try their raw crab. However if I was just going out for Korean food then I may not specifically go out of my way to come here since although the other dishes were good, it's not super outstanding. Aside from indoor dining they also have outdoor dining, there's a big white tent outside, they provides pretty good shelter, there's also hanging lights out there, really cute set up. We dined inside though since it was windy.“

“The Korean BBQ at this restaurant is absolutely amazing! If you love grilled meat, you should definitely give it a try! The restaurant has many branches, and you can get free refills of the steamed egg, corn, and side dishes in the small bowls (as long as the barbecue you ordered is still being served). The food tastes incredible, and the service is great too—though the tip is a bit on the high side, haha. It would be even better if the prices were a little more wallet-friendly!“

“We enjoyed our meal at Ehwa! My friends and I used to go to the downtown location back in our undergrad days, so having a location close to home is pretty cool.
We ordered the Ssagaji Dak (four flavour chicken platter) and the Rosé tteokbokki. The platter had a nice variety of flavours and the tteokbokki was delicious. The platter is big enough that I think it would feed most couples on its own but I eat a lot 😂. We had some leftovers to take home though!
Vibes here are really nice, and the staff working here were all very friendly. The two girls working here were very attentive and nice. One thing that I thought was nice is their work ethic really seemed great. We came early around 5:30pm for old people dinner time so the restaurant was pretty quiet, but the staff members were working hard the whole time cleaning, setting tables up, preparing the bar, etc.
Will definitely come back with friends, maybe this time for both drinks and food!“

“I genuinely really enjoyed eating here and it completely blew my expectations. The staff were so nice and welcoming, I feel like it’s worth noting that they did a great job.
It was my first time and we got the half & half with green onion + supreme flavour. Both the flavours were really tasty. The chicken felt fresh and crispy. It was way less greasy than I thought it would be too. I also thought their highball was super tasty as well. We also got the chicken dumplings and they gave us cheeseballs to try! The cheeseball was so chewy in texture which I loved a LOT (like a mix of mochi and cheese in the middle).
I think it’s on the pricier but I’d still recommend coming here!“
“I received stone rice cake (3 types) from a friend today. I found out why I asked what time the pickup would be when I placed my order. The rice cake was warm and delicious, as if it had been made and delivered on time. They beautifully engraved the words 'First Birthday' on the rice cake cake for free, and there were plenty of songpyeon and sorghum red bean rice cakes. I was moved. thank you The price was also better than other places. I highly recommend it?“
“A must try for any fried chicken lover!! ????????Korean fried chicken we can’t stop eating. About 30$ for two people to stuff themselves with perfectly crisp chicken, smothered in an amazing sauce if you choose and several flavors. Friendly caring service. Don’t miss it in the food court just down a corridor a few feet off main food court. Hidden gem we always return to.“

“We ordered the port cutlet rose tteokbokki and 2 kimbaps (tuna and beef) for two people. I was afraid it wouldn't be enough food because it was hard to tell the serving sizes from the photos and I wasn't sure if each dish was meant for one person or to be shared. It ended up being more than enough food, especially as the kimbap were quite large. My favourite part was the pork katsu. Even though we picked up our order a bit late, and then had to walk 5 min back, it was still sooo crispy and crunchy. Even when I was eating the last piece, it still had a bit of crunch. The tteokbokki was a bit too spicy for me but my bf enjoyed it. I like the tuna kimbap but I found the beef one too peppery; I was expecting it to be more like bulgogi. Overall very satisfied and definitely good value.“

“The gamjatang and the kimchi had a unique take, I liked it alot. I tend to like the saltier side, which it was. The spiciness was on point and noted heavy black pepper which was unique.

“It's my first visit.
We ordered the LA Galbi, Cheonggukjang Jjigae, and Hwangtae Gui (Grilled Dried Pollack).
The Hwangtae Gui was presented first; however, it was notably tough and desiccated. It appeared that a significant amount of moisture was lost during preparation, likely due to the absence of a soy-sesame oil sauce application prior to cooking.
We believe the dish would be significantly enhanced by adequately rehydrating the dried pollack, seasoning it with a soy-sesame oil sauce sauce before cooking, and incorporating a subtle sweetness into the sauce.
The LA ribs and Cheonggukjang stew, which followed, offered a satisfactory flavor profile.“

“What an incredible dining experience! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the tteokbokki, seafood pancake, and bibimbap, and every item was packed with authentic flavor and generous portions. The side dishes were fresh and complemented the meal perfectly.
What truly made our visit special was our server, **May**. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout the entire meal. May went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, checked in on us regularly, and made excellent recommendations. Her warm personality and genuine care made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers.
The restaurant itself was clean, inviting, and had a wonderful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. It's not often you find both amazing food and exceptional service, but this place delivered on both.
A huge thank you to May for making our experience so memorable. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Korean food and outstanding hospitality!“

“This is a restaurant I make a point to visit every time I’m in North York. Today, we ordered the spicy fried pollock, sweet and sour pork, and braised monkfish—and as expected, it didn’t disappoint.
We didn’t get it this time, but we usually also order the clam kalguksu when we’re here. That said, today’s dishes were more than enough on their own. We love Chowon so much ❤️“
