“Definitely fresh food, prepared and cooked after ordering and not microwaved or nasty food you'd find in most places these days but thats why its so expensive. Id say thats the only thing is because it is fresh and its fish, its very expensive. Unfortunately, that makes it to where we couldnt afford to go very much. This is food id get if I wanted a great japanese food experience, eat raw fish thats exceptional, fresh and safe. Id trust this place to eat this type of food here cause of how its prepared and the people look serious here too. The young lady up front was sweet and the place has minimal seating but thats ok. You can also eat outside. Thank you for a good experience with raw fish, I absolutely enjoyed it.“

“Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. I look forward to any trips I take across town from Vancouver to Tigard, and make a point to stop in and grab a bite.“

“Very kind and accommodating for my Gluten free needs. Even brought me my own GF soy sauce pot. Beautiful presentation of food and very good food and fresh fish. For GF I did the special on the board of K-skewers chicken no sauce, a veggie roll that they left one thing off that wasn't GF, and a Hawaiian roll. Hubby got a couple other rolls that were great. The wasabi has a pretty good kick to it LOL the ginger is really good.“

“Have been dining in this gem for nearly 2 decades. Always top notch with diversity, quality and amazing service. This time the food wasn't as great (seems nigiri wasn't as fresh), service was bad. Keeping high rating hoping this is one off“

“Me and my family have been coming here for the past 18 years! This family owned restaurant has the most kind owners who work everyday they are open, generous portions, amazing flavors and best prices in all of Portland metro area! Our families drive from Salem and Vancouver to come here whenever we’re craving teriyaki!“

“Whenever I come to Oregon to visit family, I always try to eat here. Honestly one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve gone to, the food was IMMACULATE. So good. You can taste the pure authenticity and flavor in their food. The servers are really sweet and kind, some of the nicest I’ve had. This small family owned store felt so cozy and warm like a blanket, it was nice, and felt like being in Japan again. The only thing that people might not like about this is the long wait, but honestly it’s worth it, and I also personally don’t mind. Great place, should try it sometime :)“

“A medium sized izakaya Raman shop perfect for an informal dinner.
The three appetizers we had were pretty good, the karage was crunchy and juicy on the inside. What the breading lacked in flavor the zesty Mayo made up for in character. 7.5/10
The ramen was served with excellent portions and at a normal Portland price, about 15 bucks before add-ons. I always add on an egg for good measure. My wife and I both ordered the signature ramen on the menu and it was good, somewhat mild in flavor but still rich. You can tell the tare is made in house and with care. 7.5/10
The service was excellent, considering the price and atmosphere of the restaurant. Wait staff were attentive in picking up plates that were used and quickly serving food. 9/10
The ambiance is nothing to write home about, this isn't a dining experience, this is your local delicious ramen spot. Now Beyonce was frankly unremarkable and that's okay. 6/10
All in all, if a friend wanted to check it out or wanted to eat there, I'd happily oblige. But I've got my own ramen spot closer to my house that I enjoy more so I won't be returning regularly.“

“My favorite sushi spot and a cedar mill staple I’ve frequented for over 10 years now. Fish is always fresh and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Delicious food and very kind owners. Highly recommend the sesame chicken and sushi dinner combo ‘A’. Their miso soup is my favorite!“
“Truly the best sushi, and possibly the best spot overall in town! Sashimi is always beautiful, their chef creations are wonderful and so creative and fresh. Rolls and hibachi are great too! Plus the service is truly amazing. Our usual server (it says Alice on the receipt) is amazing, and so beyond sweet with our son and very kind and efficient. It’s become our new favorite spot since they opened. 5+⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“I lived over here 5 or 6 years ago and use to come to this location all the time because the food was amazing and fast and fresh. I recently moved back into the area and saw they were still open so I went and had lunch. I am so happy that it is the same as it use to be. The food was just like I remember it, the service was fast and friendly, and everything tasted fresh. If your looking for good food, this is the place to go.“

“Small place with absolutely delicious food. Good portions for what you pay. The young lady working the counter was super cheerful and kind. Will return!
Kid-friendliness: My daughter was with me (9 years old at the time) and loved it.
Wheelchair accessibility: Doesn't have an automatic door that I noticed, but it is on the first floor and the door is wide enough to handle a wheelchair. The counter and several tables are lower to the ground, so the whole thing overall is pretty accessible as long the person in the wheelchair can handle opening the door.“

“Is it just a sushi bar? No, it’s much more. They have a wide and varied menu. Many cooked dishes, pork, beef, fish, noodles. All cooked to perfection. Get a seat at the bar and watch the two sushi chefs creating their magic. Great restaurant. A must try if you’re in Hillsboro.“

“If you’re in the area and love Japanese food, this food truck is an absolute gem you shouldn’t miss. I’ve been a regular customer for quite some time, and it has never disappointed me. The quality of the food is consistently excellent—every bite feels fresh and flavorful. Their California rolls are perfectly balanced with creamy avocado, crisp cucumber, and fresh crab. The spring rolls are light, crisp, and make a great starter before diving into their sushi selection.
The sushi itself is where this truck truly shines. The fresh salmon practically melts in your mouth, and their spicy tuna rolls pack just the right amount of heat without overwhelming the flavor of the fish. You can tell the ingredients are carefully chosen and handled with pride, which makes a huge difference.
One thing to note is that the staff’s English is limited, so placing an order might require a bit of pointing or patience. But honestly, that small language barrier is part of the charm—it’s a reminder that this food comes straight from people who know their craft and pour authenticity into every dish.
For anyone who enjoys good Japanese food at great value, this food truck is a local must-visit. It’s earned my loyalty, and I’m sure it’ll win you over too.“

I got the chicken bento with lots of cabbage which I like. I highly recommend them. I usually go in around 10:30 - 11 to get my lunch and miss the rush hr.“

“A Delightful Experience at Takumi Sushi & Sake Bar
We had a wonderful dining experience at Takumi in Hillsboro, Oregon. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and attentive. The parking was easy, and the atmosphere around the area is lovely, perfect for a relaxing meal out.
We ordered the Bento Box and the Flaming Jack Roll, which truly lived up to its name! The roll was brought to our table still flaming (such a fun presentation, see photo), and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The bento box was delicious and well-balanced, with a great variety of items.
As a sweet ending, we had the mango ice cream for dessert, a charming touch that made the whole experience even more memorable.
The chef himself (or someone who seemed like the chef) personally brought our food to the table, adding an extra layer of care to the service.
If you’re looking for quality sushi and a special experience, Takumi is a must-visit. Highly recommended!“

“Food is great, service is friendly.
Our only bad experience was when we tried to order through grubhub/ubereats. Some sort of mix up that the staff refused to correct.
Just phone in and pick up it up yourself, and you'll be treated to the best chicken katsu in town.“

“It has been a long time since I’ve gone to a teriyaki restaurant because my wife has resisted it. Our friends wanted to go here and, I was excited, and my wife agreed. We both had the chicken teriyaki lunch special, which come with chicken teriyaki on a bed of white rice, a side of either sweet and sour chicken or three pot stickers, and a small side salad with a house dressing. I just assumed the sweet and sour chicken was what I receive in a Chinese restaurant. Boy was I wrong! It was like way over cooked fried chicken. It was so hard that it was difficult to eat and there was absolutely no sweet or sour flavor. My wife said the pot stickers were soft but did not taste very good. Fortunately, the teriyaki chicken was very good and adding the sauce to the rice made the rice very good. The house sauce on the salad was very good. The lunch special came with a soft drink and the entire lunch was $13.50. The lady behind the counter was very nice but speaks Japanese and very little English. I tried to tell her the chicken was almost inedible but she had no idea what I was saying. We do not live in Portland so there is almost no chance we will eat there again but I would recommend the chicken teriyaki with fried rice, which our friends had and they said it was very good.“

“It's essentially what you'd expect from a casual teriyaki restaurant. Don't come here if you want the highest quality authentic Asian food, but if you want something pretty fast and affordable while still being tasty and filling, this is a solid place with options. The interior is clean and comfortable, but it's also a good place for takeout. I like their beef bulgogi a decent amount, especially for the price.“

“Koya Sushi was spectacular from the very first impression. Everything exceeded expectations—the warm hospitality, the stunning presentation, and, of course, the delicious food. My friend and I arrived close to closing time and didn’t think we’d be seated, but the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, which set the tone for the entire experience.
As soon as the food arrived, I couldn't help but notice how amazing the presentation was. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Koya Sushi left such a positive impression that I’m already looking forward to my next visit for more amazing sushi!“

“First & foremost, the customer service here is world class. The kind lady at the front taking orders answered all of my many questions about what was vegan & did not look annoyed even after several followup questions. While the restaurant has a vegetarian section, it does not label vegan options clearly. But they are more than happy to let you know what is vegan if you ask. Just make sure to specify you are vegan & provide a quick explanation of how vegan is different than vegetarian. They use vegetable oil to cook food. If you also have an issue with MSG like I do, your only option will likely be the tofu plate, which is what I got. It was great & had a lot more flavor than I anticipated. Will absolutely be getting it again in the future! If you are just vegan, here's the options: - tofu plate (pan fried tofu, white rice, & steamed broccoli, carrots, & cabbage) - tofu yakisoba - vegetable yakisoba - hot & spicy tofu - hot & spicy vegetable - tofu fried rice (not on menu, but it is available) - tofu fried rice - steamed vegetables & rice NOTE: the tofu katsu is NOT vegan“

“The food was good, tasty, and the servings were generous.
We were there on a Saturday evening on May 31 at 7 pm and the place was full, and people kept coming in. It seems very popular. We are from out of the area and just tried it randomly. We were satisfied enough that we were motivated to write a review.
The atmosphere has a cafeteria feel to it. It seems that they do a lot of take out. You order your food at the counter and then go sit down and wait for your food. So that is why I gave it 3/10 for atmosphere. But it is clean, and if you are in a hurry but still want to sit down in a restaurant, this place is great.“

“On March 6, 2021 we ordered catering services from Zen teriyaki and Beaverton. The quality of service and food was amazing and the price point was spot on as well. We ordered their standard catering package and added on salad and 20 Eggrolls total cost before tipping was about $170.00. This was enough good for about 16 people. We only had 12 people, we ate the rest the next day as leftovers. I will use them in the future and I would highly recommend them to anybody who is looking for high-quality food with great service.“

Fresh and tasty. I tried the salmon poke bowl for lunch. Good flavors and presentation. Friendly and helpful service.
It is a strip mall type location with a bare bones atmosphere. Lots of nice natural light.
Everything is served in disposable containers whether for takeout or dine in.
I recommend the restaurant start using proper plates and cutlery for dine in customers; then our family will come for dinner.

“Absolutely love Sakura! This spot is a go-to for amazing food, especially their crab puffs—hands down the best I’ve ever had. They’re handmade, super crispy, and packed with flavor. The veggie rolls are fresh and delicious, and their spicy noodles have just the right amount of heat to keep you coming back.
They’re also open late, which is perfect for those evening cravings. Bonus: they even have the lottery, so you can grab a bite and test your luck. Highly recommend!“
