“This place is fantastic. My fiancée and I had dinner and we got our food and we were expecting it to be at least 90 bucks. It was 63 bucks! Easily one of the best Chinese restaurants we've been too. Customer service is absolutely wonderful. The tea was delicious and the food was mouth watering. It was so satisfying. Definitely recommend this“

“New Cathay restaurant and lounge: The food here is truly excellent. They are accommodating with custom orders, and the quality remains consistent for both dine-in and takeout options. However, when it comes to the lounge, I must express my disappointment. On my birthday a few months ago, the experience was underwhelming. The bar matron displayed a bossy and dismissive attitude, which put a damper on the celebration.“

“Street Wok is an excellent choice if you’re looking for standard Chinese food done exceptionally well. All the regular go-to’s are fresh and well-flavored - sesame chicken, orange chicken, won-ton soup etc. The food is several notches above the usual fare you’ll fine in most US cities. Located in an unremarkable strip mall with basic, almost barren decor, it’s easy to miss. Most people seem to do to-go orders, and the dine-in experience includes a looping Chinese song that played a minimum 12 times during our 30 minute lunch :-)“

“This place took over what used to be Pot & Spicy. The interior is pretty much the same - nice and simple. The food offerings was a bit similar to before. We ordered a few skewers and a bowl of Beef Golden Soup to share. The server was friendly and quick to get our order in. The bacon needle mushroom and beef skewers were tasty, as well as the chicken heart skewers. The popcorn chicken could have used a better batter, in my opinion. It was more of a panko coat to it and needed more spice to it. The Beef Golden Soup was flavorful, and I enjoyed it.“

“Went to Xin Ding for dinner. The vibe was giving sports bar, which was great for us because we had just finished a hike and were looking for a quick spot to eat. The food was good, the vegetable dumplings and the Pork Xiao Long were our favorite dumplings. The orange chicken and sesame chicken were ok, felt like they could have had a little more flavor. The chicken fried rice was really good! The portion sizes were huge which we always love lol. Service was great, the waiters were attentive and friendly.“

“One of my top 5 favorite place to eat in PDX. The sesame noodles are bright, fresh, and chewy. Served chilled and perfect for summer time. The pork is tender and perfectly seasoned.I have a difficult time finding food that's not too spicy (seems a current PDX trend). They balance it perfectly. I'd more or less given up on enjoying that mouth numbing delightfulness of the Sichuan peppercorn without being blasted with the heat of a million chilies. But they've found the sweet spot. Prices on par with other places in the area. Plus you can enjoy the food in their neighboring establishment, Holy Ghost.I highly recommend paring any noodle dish with the 5min Gin Fizz!“

“Literally can't not tell you how amazing this place is. Not only are they the KINDEST humans, but the food was beyond incredible. I was craving shrimp, and it was not on the regular menu since it's a random special. Surprisingly, he said he had some and would make it for me. We had the lollipop garlic noodles which were DELICIOUS, tofu, the fried chicken, and shrimp garlic noodles. They were so accommodating. We will be back 1 million percent.“

“Wandered in about 30 minutes before closing (sorry guys!!!) but the food, service and overall vibe of the place was amazing. It was probably my favourite meal of the trip, and we took it back to our airbnb around the corner (spread pictured). I'll definitely visit again in August!“

I never say that about restaurants, but I want everyone to know about Ruk Diew Cafe! the food was fresh ND so good. the coconut prawns were tender and flavorful, the fried tofu was crispy and the sauce yummy. I think I had green mango in a lovely sauce with red peppers. I am a happy diner.“

“Stretch the Noodle is located in the Midtown Beer Garden, which is a cute little oasis close in on the west side. I ordered the Chao Mian with tofu extra spicy. “They have authentic Orange Chicken! A lot of Chinese restaurants serve the Chicken and sauce separately to save money where you have to dip the chicken into the sauce. Not at Golden Taste! They actually take the time to cook the sauce INTO the chicken which is the way it should be done! Also their fried won ton is the best I had in a long time! Friendly staff and good atmosphere. This is my go to place from now on.“

“We visited on a Sunday afternoon, so it was expected to be crowded, but we were able to get a seat. We ordered the Szechuan Wonton with Chilli Oil, Mapo Tofu with Ground Pork, Eggplant with Ground Pork, and Steamed Rice. Actually we were disappointed that our favorite Chinese restaurant was closed, but all the dishes here were delicious enough to rival it. The Mapo Tofu was the best I've ever had. The spare ribs were salty and brought out the flavor of the ingredients, which my husband liked a lot, but I prefer them braised in soy sauce and tenderized, so the strong smell of pork was not good for me. “Shockingly good. Like, I am so glad I happened to wander in! It's a Chipotle- or Mongolian BBQ-type setup where you select your ingredients and they are prepared for you into japchae stir fry or stew. But it is executed really well with amazing flavors and truly interesting items to select from. I got lotus root in my stir fry, there are a couple different mushrooms to select from there are proteins like shrimp and lamb and others, several types of greens and even the cabbage is available in full leaf or shredded format. You can really make this dish your own. I will say that even the number one is a fair amount of heat. But I'm telling you, the even with my nose running I was looking forward to every fork full.I really don't care about atmosphere so I just default gave it four stars. But the food and the service really deserve five stars.“

“Wow ! Portland is really stepping up their game when it comes to Chinese food!!! I had never tried it, but these traditional Chinese baozi were so juicy, spiced to perfection, delicious, and full of meat and the Jia Zhang mian were just like they were in Beijing. I ordered delivery and don't know if they have dine in. I will go back again soon! They also have frozen baozi and jiazi to boil or steam at home! Can't wait to order through their menu!“

“We were there twice recently, one on March 2 and the other March 22. The first time was quite satisfying. Even though this restaurant was a relatively new addition to the mall, the food and service were on par with other locations such as Seattle, Bellevue and La Jolla. However, our later visit, with a 2x larger table than the first visit, seemed to show a service issue. The staff placed the ordered dishes wherever they wanted, which, at other DTF, they would ask where to place the dish on the table by asking the customers first. This caused unnecessary dish-passing immediately after an order was delivered. There was ample walking space surrounding our table, i.e., we were not in the side booth or window/corner tables. Food was consistently fantastic as high standard held by DTF.Kid-friendliness: Nice kid set“

“Eager to celebrate the Chinese New Year, my friend and I were craving Chinese food and decided to give Warsugai a try. I'm glad we did! The restaurant is lovely with mint tiles surrounding the bar, a waving kitty on the wall, and plants around the perimeter. The door was opened for us as we entered, and we were seated quickly. Since we wanted to be adventurous and try multiple items on the menu, my friend and I decided to order the Pu Pu Platter. Not really a platter though, our food came out individually and took up the majority of our table. Ours came with the Silken Ota Tofu, Noble House Pork Potstickers, Dungeness Crab Long Rangoon, BBQ Pork Coppa, Sizzling Black Pepper Beef Short Ribs, Taishan Cauliflower, and Warsugai. Everything was flavorful and delicious, so it was hard to pick favorite items. Although I'm not usually a fan of tofu, I enjoyed the differing textures of the soft tofu and crispy potato and scallions. The crab rangoon was amazing! No imitation crab here...Fresh crab rolled up in a spring roll fashion and served with a chili sauce. Yum! We also enjoyed the bbq pork coppa which came with a dollop of mustard which complimented the pork nicely. Finally, the Warsugai itself was delicious. Lightly fried chicken which was not overly heavy or greasy topped with almond gravy and almond slivers on a bed of shredded lettuce. So good! Your server will check you out at your table which is convenient, but also a little awkward since he or she will be in front of you when the machine prompts for a tip and a rating of your meal and service. This was not a deterrent since everything was wonderful. Hoping they will add a dessert item or two to the menu someday. We loved our experience at Warsugai and look forward to elevated Chinese food again soon!“

“I called to place an order at 7:19, and they close at 7:30, and they happily took my order! When I went to pick up, they were just finishing it up. All the food was perfect! I ordered the Mapo Tofu extra hot, and then she even warned me when she gave me the food that it is hot, and I was! She even brought the food to my car! I highly recommend this place! They even gave us extra appetizers!“

“Great little chinese restaurant with a good menu selection. The lunch portions are good sized, and the fortune cookies are not stale. Best egg foo young I've had in awhile, good gravy. The sweet and sour sauce wasn't over sweetened and the batter was not over fried and extra crunchy. We'll be coming back for sure.“

“I'm so glad my husband and I stumbled upon this mom and pop restaurant. I was craving for wonton soup and saw this place on the way home and decided to try and have early dinner here. The place is small with few tables but it's very clean and a nice friendly staff greet us by the door. We ordered wonton and dumpling soup, pork BBQ steam bun, pork roast and pork BBQ combination rice plate, roast duck and beef brisket combination dry noodles. The food reminded me of my father's cooking, since he passed away I've been missing him so much and these food just reminds me of him. The food we ordered tasted like a home cooked meal. My father was a great cook and his love language was cooking for his family and the food here reminds me of him, like a warm hug. Thank you for this experience, the food here not only feed my hunger but also feed my heart. I will definitely return here. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for an authentic Chinese BBQ and noodle place.“

“My favorite kung pao chicken meal in all of Portland. Egg Flour soup is also delicious! You get a TON of food too! Enough for multiple meals. The couple who works this food truck are really nice and kind. Very hard working too! Sometimes it takes awhile but it's all fresh to order. They also have lunch specials that are a fantastic option for lunchtime! I've been a few times and taken friends here when in town.“

“We tried BHP bc Hot Pot City was closed. Oh my. What a treat! If, like me, you are heartbroken that HPC closed, BHP has been waiting for you. Instead of AYCE, they bring out a mass of food. Plenty of beef and beautifully marbled pork. There was a basket of cabbage and bok choy. A tray w tofu, clear noodles, enoki mushrooms, meatballs and tofu sheets. Never had them before and they were quite tasty. And, the handmade noodles!! We had the split half spicy, half regular broth. My brother eats chile peppers whole. He could handle the spicy. I love spicy but next time I will go regular and dip in chile oil. The broth is very tasty even before you start cooking. I wish I saved room to drink it all, but we were stuffed. You could easily feed three and enjoy potsticker and more veggies. “Never disappoints! Love their napa cold slaw salad that comes with the buns, always crunchy and yummy. Miso pork belly bun is so freakin good I keep coming back for MORE! The bun itself is so fluffy and most likely the best steamed bun you can find in town!“

“Literally one of the best Chinese food places I’ve eaten at in the Portland area. I don’t understand any of the under 4-5 star reviews here! Everything we’ve tried from this place has been amazing, incredibly flavorful, nourishing and delicious. The Sour Won Ton Soup, Mongolian Beef Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chow Mein, any of their fried rice, and the rib dishes are some of our favorites. Very reasonably priced as well considering most restaurant pricing these days. They also have a yummy drink menu with bubble teas. Perfect place for a date night, family meal or getting takeout. If you live in Happy Valley and you haven’t tried this place yet…definitely do!!“

There are too many homeless people, really.Ordered the pickled bullfrog.Eggplant with preserved pepper and eggplant: not very authentic, mashed and served on a ceramic plate.Dry pot fat intestine: The fat intestine is crispy.The three dishes tasted pretty good, but they were uncomfortable to eat. I also love spicy food, but I don’t know why I feel uncomfortable eating the spicy dishes here, and my stomach and intestines are also uncomfortable. After eating a little, I don’t want to eat anymore.“

“This a dim sum banquet hall. There isn't really any atmosphere or service to speak of. It's just all about the food. The place is huge and full of gigantic tables. If you came here with 2 people or 20 people, they would seat you immediately. “Best bao zi and Xiao long bao I have had. Everything that I have tried off the menu I would order again. My family and I love to eat here every few weeks, the staff is always nso nice. The beef scallion pancake and fried rice noodles are great.“

Menu isn't super big but has all of the classics, we tried their xiao long bao which was super hot and tasty, snow pea vegetable which was fragrant with garlic and spice, steamed buns which were great (it comes with 6 so we took some home and had them later which was great), and jian bing which were super flavorful. They only have coke, sprite, Fanta, a couple of beers, and tea available and we saw a few people bring their boba in to pair with their meal ^_^ can't wait to try their beef noodle soup, pot stickers, and youtiao!!“

“Best chow fun in town. Can't get fresher noodles anywhere because they supply most of the Chinese restaurants and stores in town with their noodles. Their fried rice is really good, too. They also make their own tofu, both fresh and fried. Their rice noodle rolls are good, too. just have to get their early in the day because they sell out fast. The owners are some of the nicest people and work extremely hard. Love giving them my business.“

“I don’t eat at Chinese restaurants much anymore. Used to be a big fan, but most are greasy and use sub standard ingredients. I met some friends at Ling Garden, as they recommended it, and was very pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, good jasmine tea and the General Tso’s chicken was perfect. Crunchy coating,moist and tender chicken, smoky, spicy sauce, and I did not feel sick after licking my plate clean. Highly recommend.“

“Still one of the best values for lunch downtown. Good portions and everything I have had over the years has been delicious. Favorites of mine would be asparagus chicken and mushrooms chicken.Only downsides is one man show cooked to order so can be slow when busy, still in a part of town that need some clean up and cart itself is not pretty so easy to overlook.“

“Great spot for karaoke and get togethers! I really liked the layout of the building as well! There is a lower dining area and bar with a spot towards the front for karaoke, including a designated DJ alcove. Further in is a raised level area with two pool tables (.50 per game) that acts as a lounge area, featuring long couches and side tables, along with a few smaller tables for snacks and shareable dishes. Through the back is a long outdoor patio; this area has picnic tables with ashtrays, ideal for smokers or folks who need to step away from the crowd for a moment or two. It is fenced and looks out onto sandy Blvd, so there is some traffic noise, but not a ton (especially later in the evening).“

“The eggplant melted in my mouth. I recommend the scallops, oysters, scallions, chicken hearts and cauliflower. I will have to go back to try it all. The flavors were fantastic! Friends live in the neighborhood and they say they have been going once a week.“

“I ordered large hot and sour soup and it's the best I have ever had. It's perfect. Filled with meat and goodness. It has more ingredients than I've had in hot and sour soup before. The hot and sour soup I've had from other restaurants have had more water than ingredients. It has the perfect amount of spicy for a price of $7, that's wonderful. It's a beautiful restaurant inside and out. I love the lighting and decorations. It's a very peaceful environment. Happy year of the Dragon.
