“Outstanding food and great service. The owner served us and did a great job pointing out menu items and explained some things that were new to us. The food came out fast and hot and we really had a great experience.“

“Master Kong's looks like a pretty unassuming neighborhood restaurant, like a lot of those in Portland, but the jianbing here really punches above its weight! We had a few different dumplings, the beef brisket, the jianbing, some vegetables, and everything was very well prepared and delicious. Loved it!“

“Loved eating here! We were only passing through Portland and needed a place to stop and eat and recharge and we're very happy that we found this restaurant!
Friendly staff. Quick and excellent service. Delicious food! Enjoyed everything that we ordered, and we ordered a lot lol“

“Best service, food, and atmosphere! Ordered crab puffs, gyoza, veg fried rice, Mongolian beef, sweet & sour chicken,
shredded pork with pickled cabbage, bacon fried rice, and shrimp Lo Mein. Everything was excellent. Fresh broccoli with just the right sweetness and crunch, sweet & sour sauce to write home about. Best Mongolian Beef we've had. Big crab puffs with lots of filling. The sauteed onions in a few dishes made me want to dance. Perfectly cooked Lo Mein noodles. This is now our favorite Chinese food venue. We'll be back whenever we're in the area.“

“Immediately when you walk in and it feels like a great mom and pop noodle shop. The wonton and brisket noodles were easily some of the best I've had. Rich, flavorful beef broth with such a nice chew and bounce from the noodles. The wontons were also large and had minced pork and shrimp inside. The mixed meat congee was also a great order. Hot with plenty of meat that paired nicely with their chinese donut that was thin, not greasy, and so, so good. Also get their refreshing soy milk drink!“

“A solid 4 star dim sum (no carts) spot in SE.
There are only a handful worth going to this is one. We don't really have top top tier dim sum like Cali, Seattle, Vancouver does but our several SE spots are alright.
HK Cafe was mediocre the last 3-4 times we went so we don't go there anymore. We also heard about some nasty health code violations 🤢“

“This spot is FIRE! 🔥 We ordered the orange chicken and general tso and they were so good!! Saucy, crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside! So much food, couldn’t finish mine so now I have dinner 🩷 The crab puffs and spring rolls were hot and crunchy and the fillings were yummy!! Thank you for throwing in a chili oil for us, the extra kick made the food a hit!!! Now I know why this place is highly rated, I’m in love!!!! 😍“

“Best chow fun in town. Can't get fresher noodles anywhere because they supply most of the Chinese restaurants and stores in town with their noodles. Their fried rice is really good, too. They also make their own tofu, both fresh and fried. Their rice noodle rolls are good, too. just have to get their early in the day because they sell out fast. The owners are some of the nicest people and work extremely hard. Love giving them my business.“

“This is one of my favorite places in Portland. Here is the review after over 2 years of dining here. They offer authentic Chinese Street BBQ which I couldn’t find back then. I like to order extra spicy, but I don't recommend it if you don't have a very high tolerance for spice. My must-order items are skewers (beef, pork belly, squid, chicken gizzard, chives, potato) and enoki beef aluminum box with rice vermicelli. Their oyster is pretty good too.
The service becomes more contactless as they develop but the tip suggestion starts from 18% doesn't make sense since there is very minimal service. Also you can't expect friendly service from a Chinese restaurant 😁
Overall, food is pretty good and I really want this business to be sustain.“

“Wanted to try something new and this place looked great. Staff were super nice, the vibe inside was amazing and the Cold Noodles + 2 Bao was so good! I had two pork buns and the flavor was delicious, easily the best I’ve had! The sauce for the Cold Noodles was great, with just the right amount spice to make every bite taste wonderful. $19 and I left feeling stuffed, great portion sizes! Plus, or food came out surprisingly fast, didn’t even feel like 5minutes before it was brought to us.
Definitely plan to come back again!“

“If you like it hot, you have to come and try the crispy spicy fish. If you don't like it hot, come with someone who does and have a bite of theirs! Also the pork wonton with spicy oil were excellent. Lunch portion was generous, although the hot & sour soup and spring roll were very pedestrian.
Update: June 2026. Fish and chili oil wonton were still very good, but didn't seem all that spicy (it's still tingling hot). Portion was decent but it wasn't too much for one person to have both a Lunch and an appetizer.“

“We ordered take out, but I was impressed by how good everything tasted. We ordered chicken chow mein with cashews and the portion size was HUGE! I ordered General Tsao's chicken and it tasted very good. That also had a huge portion. Would definitely recommend.“

“Love the experience, food is excellent. Chrysanthemum greens were a little tough, put all the flavors are there. Smart hospitality people throughout... Professional, efficient and friendly.
I'm a whole plant-based eater and had a great day however I wouldn't consider it the most healthy since I don't eat fried foods and use sugar or much oil.
For going out it's really 5 stars... I love good food and restaurants that are passionate about what they do, not just making money. This hits all cylinders.“

“Yummy is a hole in the wall, mom and pop shop that is always a must for Chinese food in Portland. The owners are kind, hardworking and accommodating. Don’t judge a book by its cover because the food here is reminiscent of the classic (good) Cantonese food you could get back pre 2010s in PDX. Not one of the gentrified and overpriced Chinese restaurants I am sad to see increasing in numbers. Nothing but quality food and generous portions. So please don’t let gems like these disappear.
I’ve come here countless times with my family. Anywhere from 4 people to more than 10. We like to bring everyone here for any occasion.
Food: never gone wrong with anything I’ve ordered here. The stewed beef brisket is hands down my favorite dish here. Not a commonly found dish in restaurants anymore. The time and care put into this dish can cure the common cold to a broken heart. The chow fun and chow mein are always go to orders. The rice noodles are always fresh and have the perfect glisten in the chow fun (I tore into the dish before snapping a picture). Any steamed fish is always perfectly cooked. If they have the bbq spareribs, order them immediately and thank me later. Can’t knock any of the more Chinese-American dishes either.
As Cantonese food can be quite dense and filling, I love the balance with the fresh sushi. Tuna/maguro and yellowtail/hamachi are my favorites here. Generous nigiri sizes and the rolls are lovely.“
“We drove 5 hours to eat here! The food is sooo good!“

“What a fantastic little gem of an Asian food truck in downtown! My husband and I ordered the teriyaki chicken and chicken yakisoba. I was floored by the amount of food you get for $10! Everything was so flavorful and delicious! Service was excellent. I was impressed that the truck was only run by one man --- and he really slayed in that kitchen! We will definitely be returning here to try more dishes soon!“

“We were looking for late night ears after a concert on a weekday. They were open until midnight, that was all we needed to know. We ordered chicken fried rice, cucumber salad, corn, shrimp skewers, pork belly skewers and the bacon and enoki mushroom skewers. The spice blend on the table (not the spicy one) is MAGIC! It was delicious in everything! We loved the flavors of everything. The skewers had the perfect amount of char without tasting burned. The fried rice was so fresh, some of the best I've had. The cucumber salad was perfectly seasoned and tasted amazing with a bite of that pork belly. I will definitely return for another meal, there are so many more things I want to try.“

“Ate here for the 1st time. This is an area with several Asian eating places. The 1st one we went into was completely empty so we decided to check out Jin Jin just across the parking lot. There is only 8-10 tables but it was packed! A good sign. Friendly and good service. Food was wonderful! Only bad thing is the only table available was right behind the door so whenever the door was opened the vertical blinds would swing back and forth over my head.“

“What a wonderful surprise! This restaurant was recommended by a family member, and we ended up making a reservation for our group of 12 for a birthday dinner. The service was outstanding from the first phone call all the way through to our server wrapping up our leftovers for us. The food was outstanding, generous portions, fresh beautiful vegetables, wonderful flavors. I would absolutely recommend them and hope to visit again next time we’re in the area!“

“My wife and I order Ying Bun several times a month. We just love it everything is fresh and taste like authentic Chinese food. We have a standing order, that we order every time.
We start with:
1) two large wonton soups that has lots of big large beautiful wontons with fresh snow peas, carrots, celery, sliced chicken, barbecue pork and large shrimp too!
2) Number 5 Dinner that comes with Fried Shrimp, Pork fried rice, Sweet and Sour chicken, Subgum chicken chow mein
3) large order of crab puffs
4) large order of fried shrimp
This is our order, we love this meal. We get at least 3 meals out of our order. Always hot and fresh. We don't even mind the 20-minute wait time to make it. Just awesome to have something wonderful local because we like to go home put our pajamas on watch TV and eat all this food.“

“Just arrived in Portland and this was my first meal here. It was fantastic. The soup dumplings were incredible. Possibly my new favourite food. The Dan Dan Noodles were a bit spicier than expected but still yummy. I went with a large group and they handled that really well.“

“This is the kind of place you're hoping to get when you try a new Chinese restaurant. It's an older place but the vibe is chill, the staff are prompt and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Ordered 3 combo plates to go with an appetizer combo and it was all ready within about 15 minutes. My broccoli beef was so tender and flavorful that the leftovers are good in the morning without heating up. We will be back.“

“Excellent service, usually a quick and very easy option for lunch or dinner, dine in or take out. Some dishes are very good while others are okay, I suggest trying a handful to nail down which dishes are winners. Beef broccoli, schezwan chicken and beef lo mein are all good.“

“The food seems more authentic than most. Although most dishes are spicy, their regular level is slice is very tolerable. Nice use of Sichuan peppercorns--everything warms the mouth without setting it on fire. I've had their mapo tofu, kung pao chicken, and beef with green onions. All very good. Looking forward to exploring more of their menu.“

“This is our favorite go to authentic Chinese restaurant in Portland. The food is fresh, hot, and so delicious. The owner is very nice and knows us by name. It's nice to find a place in Portland where my family can order in their native tongue (Cantonese) and have a full conversation.
Our favorite dishes that we pretty much always get is the salt and pepper fish, sweet and sour pork, and the Happy Family. We've tried many other dishes as well and they were all very good.“

“Best (and maybe only) handpulled Chinese noodles in the Portland area. The taste is quite on point with the ones I came to love in Northern China.
The only problem is the close early sometimes and aren't open on weekends. If they were, we'd no doubt have gone countless more times.
The spice level is no joke. I like it spicy, but still feel the heat (wouldn't have it any other way).“

“Love this place for tasty Chinese food. I tend to get their family size stirfrys to get a nice balance of veggies and meat. Portions are generous. Family size dinner entree cost up to $20 with shrimp and last me 3-4 meals.

“Just the absolute best. Incredibly consistent, astoundingly high quality. I would not have believed white rice and chicken could be this good. I’ve tried many things on the menu but I return to the chicken & gyoza combo. I actively crave it sometimes. My only regret is that I didn’t know about Lee’s sooner…“
