Flavor, freshness, execution of literally every single detail (even ones you don't think about until you're made to notice), and the fact it's all accessibly priced kinda made me cry when i tried food from here the other day.

For lack of a quicker comparison, this is like Elden Ring coming out after years of being told the best you can get is sysco-sourced AAA reboots of the same "deliverable" concepts.

I want to experience this place's food for the rest of my life.

Toro Party and Nigiri are so fresh. I love the thick cut they do on the sashimi. I Would definitely recommend and come back.“

“I happened to end up here for lunch when I was having a particularly bad day. Thanks to the super sweet gal behind the counter and delicious meal, this place really cheered me up! I love the wide array of options and all the fish and veggies I got tasted so good and fresh. The complimentary miso soup was much appreciated as well! The only thing I think could be better is the rice - the white rice I got was pretty dry. A well seasoned sticky sushi rice would make this already great meal perfect.

“I tried SushiLove for the first time today (Oregon City location) and I am hooked! The service and food were amazing. I couldn't decide what I wanted to try first, so I ordered a half order of the Glazed and Confused, half order of the Mother of Dragons and an order of the Starry Inari. SO SO good! “Anyone can seemingly make sushi seem better by making it more complex, but the real test is whether they can take the simple and make it excellent. Sushi-Ki-ichi does just that. They stick to the simple offerings, leading to an experience that feels less Americanized than other Japanese restaurants. That's not to say I don't love some level of creativity, but you don't need it here. That's because the family that owns Sushi Ki-ichi wants to create an authentic meal - a notion that was confirmed for sure when we had a conversation with the owner. In fact, they take quality to the next level with their equipment and efforts they take to make sure that what they serve is the highest quality, including specific freezers for the fish. We didn't try Sushi Ki-ichi for the first couple of years because we figured that the previous restaurant, a Chinese buffet that had gone downhill and fallen off the cliff, had rebranded and reopened as something new. Now I feel that for those first couple of years, we missed out. This has quickly become my favorite place in Portland. I look forward to any trips I take across town from Vancouver to Tigard, and make a point to stop in and grab a bite.“

“I ordered some sushi for delivery this evening through DoorDash. The miso soup that I ordered has a tight lid but has two holes at the top lid and is not waterproof. It is made of some type of cardboard that is not immune to getting soaked through. The restaurant does not add any additional ceiling to prevent leaking if the soup were to not remain upright. Because of this and stacking items in my order, of course the miso soup did go sideways and because it is in a sealed bag, they deliver driver has no idea that this is happening. The cardboard package that the sushi comes in is also not waterproof so due to the miso soup pooling in the plastic bag my sushi was sitting in miso soup and soaking through and getting wet with soup. The sushi itself was tasty. I did enjoy the rock ‘n’ roll roll. I was disappointed by the salmon belly because all I could taste was green onion. For some reason, there’s a garnish of red onion on the salmon belly Nigiri and you could taste nothing else. The onion is overpowering. Fish is a subtle flavor. I’m confused why there would be onion on top order was ready promptly. I ordered via the restaurants preferred website which charges a seven dollar delivery fee, but DoorDash also adds money to each menu item making them cost more so I’m hoping ordering through the other website ultimately gets the restaurant more money, but then DoorDash did deliver it so I’m not sure how that works.
I’ve had this spot added to my favorites list for a long time, but haven’t ordered from here in probably a couple years. Maybe it’s just better to eat in person but quality overall good for the price.“
